Resurrection Remix Rom Full Review for Realme X2 - Realme X2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Finally it is here! The 'full of customization' Resurrection Remix Rom is here for Realme X2 and I took time to review it.
Resurrection Remix Rom Full Review Plus PubG game play (Smooth+EXTREME)
The review video above is for those who love visuals but if you like to Read, let's get Rolling...
RESURRECTION REMIX ON REALME X2
I love customizations in Android and Resurrection Remix gives the best of it and I personally, is glad it has finally arrived for the Realme X2.
It's a lineage OS based with features from AOSP, OMINI, etc.
On Realme X2, it requires Stock RUI Vendor to work.
Make sure that you don't wipe your stock vendor before flashing else the Rom won't boot.
The Resurrection Remix Rom on Realme X2 debuted with the high performance Artemis Kernel and boy, the performance levels is crazily good.
KNOWN BUGS?
Well, initially after flashing Rom and Gapps, booted up and realized that advanced reboot into recovery wasn't working but after flashing the latest OFRP zip and flashing magisk, it started working.
Cts profile fails so device won't be certified on Google Play Store but you can Permanently Fix Device Not Certified on Google Play Store to use Google Pay, Netflix, DSTV etc with magisk hide props method or Use coral zip method to Fix Device is not certified cts profile false
Apart from that (which I don't consider a bug) every other thing works. Even WFD cast screen and all.
SYSTEM UI
The System UI is so smooth AF! Even the screen recordinf didn't do it enough justice. It's one of the smoothest I've used. Everything is fast from scrolling to switching apps, it blazes without any form of lag. On sustained use, it does heat up just slightly warm even when playing heavy games.

SYSTEM SETTINGS
I don't have to say much about customization for those who already know RR do I?
It has every kind of tweaks. 3 days after flashing, I was still tweaking things around. It's that loaded!

ATERMIS KERNEL
The Artemis kernel is very stable and great for performance. Not the best for battery life for me but with that high performance, it was way better than my better experience with Realme UI.
Also note that Artemis kernel always turns on gaming mode in Realme settings even when you off it it turns back on so that, takes some toil on the battery. But I still get 7-9 hours SOT on 4G data through out while on Realme UI I get 5-6 hours SOT with elrhe same usage.

Gaming Performance And Benchmark Scores
IT is the smoothest while playing PubG on Smooth+EXTREME (unlocked by GFX tool) and it doesn't even heat up that much when playing over a sustained period.
Not that Benchmark means anything to me but to got the highest Antutu scores I've ever had on Realme X2 but that tells about its performance.

CONCLUSION
if you want the best of performance and a little bit compromise on the best battery life? Then I'll recommend this Resurrection Remix Rom for you. And it has abundance of customization too.
It's very stable for the initial build and the next update is almost ready for release.
Special thanks to the maintainer DevRishav for building RR for Realme X2.
Special credits also Dev Har**** for device tree, Kuran Kaname for Artemis kernel too. Also. Other developers ans tester for Realme X2 working tirelessly for Roms in Realme X2. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate all the efforta and time you put in.

Does this support stock realme UI camera app?

Nice new rom to play with.
Just a few errors in the OP, not sure if you noticed them yet...
New power mwnu from SlimRoms;
Lockscreen tragets and shortcuts from SlimRoms;
Lockascreen PIN key pad shuffler;
Regardless, it's great to see another ROM to play around with!
Ok will fix them., thanks mate.
In the other hand im having Internet issues and the upload got cancelled 3 times already for slow upload. Will do tomorrow if i dont get an update done before uploading with lots of more options to play with.
Op updated with download link
What doesn't work? lol
Downloading
Everything works that i know of.
Idk if this is a Google thing or we just have amazing devs. But I feel like it was SO much easier to make a stable 4.4 build then any other one.

Soo... are you SVLan with a different name? I noticed SVLan is no longer the OP for PureSpeedX. Just curious. I'm running PureSpeedX and it is the fastest, best battery life ROM that has ever existed for the AHD, so if this is from the same guy, I can't wait to play with it. Can we expect that kind of speed? If we have that kind of speed and halfway comparable battery life along with customizations like you have here, this will be insane. I get easily 2 work days worth of medium use out of PSX. That's unheard of for any android really. Anyways, can't wait to test it out, especially the active notifications. Will be flashing ASAP.
Yes im the same guy.
About this rom, this version is not compare in speed and battery life as CM11 is know to drain battery faster the stock kitkat. But for the options and display animations this one have is very responsive. Will get way better on the coming update soon
The ROM looks good
Very nice customizations, smooth, can't say about battery life yet
I can finally use themes and halo
External SD is still not working on TiBu
Sent from my Calculator
That will be fix on next release
Does it install clean without boot loops ? Lol
Sent from my MB886 using Tapatalk
Yes clean install

Well, I figured that much. CM always uses more battery than AOSP, but when you get two days of battery life, I'd gladly sacrifice half that for customization lol. CM has never hit the battery enough to cause a problem, so if I can get two days out of PSX, surely I can get one day out of this easily. Still can't wait to try it out! Thanks!
Problems with keyboard with swipe and immediately closes with no error, problems with signal sometimes drops it all with no network. Airplane mode fixes it for a little. No vibration feedback anywhere except navigation bar.
Is it just me or is the gapps link not working??

Anyone?

Wondering if anyone is working on a new rom now the sources have been released.
It does not seem like it. I have been looking a lot around the net. I am considering selling mine.
I already built some ROMs for other phones and tablets but you guys need to understand that this is not something that is done in a day !
With my ******* connection I am not even done with the download of the sources ! Then you need to make some adjustments, sync, gather all the sources and finally build which is a really heavy process and right now since I need my computer to work, I can't let him build and compile.
I'll definitely build some ROM for this device since I want to try new ROMs but I need more time
That sounds encouraging. Even if the performance were increased (less battery drain) on the existing Mokee and CM 12.1 Roms, we would be in a better place. I am currently on Mokee 14/03 and the battery drain makes it very difficult to use out and about.

Hi ectoplasma22, I hope you could build a nice rom for this phone, because the smartphone deserves it! Can you say me if you have found some bugs on the Mokee one? Is all working on it? I'm now on miui europe stable and the rom is good but I see some limitation of the Miui rom wich are a little annoying like errors converting user app in system app system and many, but however I found how to switch the 2k dispay resolution to 1080 and the battery life increased +30%, also if I'm getting error writing screenshots on sdcard and some apps see only a small area to work, and the cursor for those apps is blocked in a small space, like the app Nice Eyes which can't be placed on the eyes. Do you know a secure way to change resolution without get anu bugs?

Lots of comments in the Mokee thread here on battery drain. http://en.miui.com/thread-228046-1-1.html
Great that it's working for you, but mine is way worse than miui for drain. Seems to be related to min cpu frequency being high during idle.
I also notice that the cm 12.1 thread has a known issue on needing to have two sims inserted and using the second for lte if you want to use lte. http://en.miui.com/thread-234339-1-1.html. I'm not sure if this impacts Mokee too or if related to battery drain (I have one sim only in sim 2). But my drain is a lot better when aeroplane mode is on.
Android 6 coming from nian, only sound is bugged..

The most stable, battery friendly AOSP ROM for K20 Pro?

Hi everyone,
I have been using the stock miui for some time without any dramas. I wouldn't mind going back to an AOSP ROM. The main thing holding me back right now is, I find stock miui 12 to be really stable, battery friendly, and retains all the camera functionality. Also, I haven't needed to stuff around with magisk or whatever (excuse me, it has been ages since using a custom ROM) to get basic things apps Netflix working.
So if anyone has any suggestions for which rom to check out, please make them. Keeping in mind the following;
Battery Life
Stability
Camera Functionality
Apps like Netflix working
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far, and I'll make sure to click thanks if you reply.

U can try evox
which is very much stable and getting equal battery life comp with miui

I have recently left xiaomi.eu on this phone and tried a few ROMs. Most gave me problems with ANX and GCam. The only one on which both work is RR. I don't install a lot of apps and don't spend hours on the phone but battery usage is way better than the most optimized xiaomi.eu ROM.

Gcam and anx camera works perfectly for me in evox.
Make sure you have flashed the rom right.
Pixel Experience is running smoothly. Battery management is very good. While running tons of apps in the background I still can get around 9 hours of SoT (screen on time).
I use this ROM as a daily driver for about 2 months and still had no problems. Apart from this, I fully recommend to use GCam instead of built-in camera app.

Did I say somewhere that I wanted gapps ? No, never.
Best battery on pe+, however fingerprint is not as good as open source vendor and aod has a broken animation so it's best to not use it imo. Camera works same as stock if you install and camera correctly
For me havoc os is best in battery department
Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Have a lot of ROM threads to check out.

I've been using this as my daily driver on my Mi 10i (Yes, from India) for a few weeks now. Everything works well. For camera I used GCam v8.1 by BSG and been loving it. I am using it without any modifications to it. No root even.
The only issues I had with it are.
1. Battery drain during standby is wayy too much. Overnight my phone would drain 20-30%.
2. Not able to change Refresh Rate in the July version of the ROM. Waiting on an August update.
3. The phone recognizes my earphones as an earphone with microphone but sometimes randomly changes to earphones without microphone and my earphone's mic stops working? In a phone call I need to enable speaker mode and then disabling it fixes it. Not sure if its a ROM issue or my earphone's issue. Take this with a grain of salt.
Aside from the above drawbacks. The battery life IF I use the device consistently throughout the day is amazing. The ROM also feels butter smooth and is really simple which I really like.
Here's my battery stats that I already posted here once.

The rom is overall smooth but there seems to be some issue with the bluetooth. After attending phone calls, if i try to listen to youtube or some whatsapp audio clip no sound is transmitted to my earbuds. And the rom base frequency is set at 1612Mhz, is there a way to set min freq at 300?
Can anything be done to the horrible quick settings buttons? they are too big for my taste, any way to turn them back to A11 style?

I agree. I've tried just about every other Android 12 ROM for this device and it's by far the best.
Is there any way to revert quick settings bar to the old-style small icons? Can't stand the giant buttons in A12.
Also, VoLTE and VoWifi (Wifi calling) are available and working?
hey all, been reading about display brightness issues with the OnePlus 8 Pro at low brightness, and how OnePlus "fixed" this on the stock rom by not letting the display get very dim.
Does this ROM have a DC Dimming option? And if not, does the display get nice and dim for night viewing, I'm not worried about colors or anything being off when its dim
Which recovery to use to install this rom?
i can't seem to find one compatible to install it,
