My Review of the Schnail Titan Case for the Note 20 Ultra - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Accessories

Schnail Titan for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Case (2020 Screenless Version), Military Grade Drop Tested Heavy Duty Full Body Protective Case with Kickstand - Black
Review posted to Amazon:
I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pretty tough guy. Work in the construction industry, do deadlifts for fun, intimidate most humans, and have the size and skill to back it up. Therefore, I need a tough phone case for my delicate phone. I don't have time for cracked screens or damaged phones so I decided to try out this Schnail Titan case, well because of how durable it looked but also the name TITAN! That fits my giant ego. I've dropped my phone twice by accident while messing with equipment with the other hand and both times the phone survived the fall. I'm 6'3" so the fall was from over 5-ft onto hard concrete/stone flooring. If it can survive the rigors of my life, then it can survive the non-rigors of yours.
The only slight negatives are as follows. I wish the top of the case sloped more so that when I go to lower the drop down menu with my finger it doesn't open the apps menu. If you don't know this, the new Android OS lets you swipe down on the screen to open the apps drawer. Also, I could use a little more rubber on the back side to give it more of a grip when placed face up on my diesel truck center console. Yes, I drive a diesel, but I don't hate the Earth. I use DEF. Instead of a plastic frame around the phone before inserting it into the rubberized case, I wish it was just a plastic top and bottom that inserted into rubber to add more protection. Not that it needs it, but would be easier for installation.
Bottom line. If you have clumsy hands, or really want to protect your new $1500 phone, then GET THIS CASE!

I've called out the other "reviews' shilling for this product - but this is by far the worst. You are not only aiding and abetting an unethical marketing ploy to promote a product across various forums through inherently biased "reviews" generated by promotional discounts (something you should always disclose if you want to appear even remotely ethical) - but you chose to do it in a racist ("the Koreans at Samsung haven't figured out how to be "tough American men" like in the US") and extremely obnoxious (too many examples to list) manner - reported.

While I agree the review was extremely obnoxious I don't agree with you reporting the original post of the person offering the cases. They are not selling anything. They are giving cases out free to XDA members for reviews. They have been doing this exact same thing for a while now for various phones so obviously XDA doesn't have a problem with it. Leave them out of this.

Fair enough, @znel52 - while I disagree that giving away cases for reviews is 'not selling anything' (advertising is selling, it's a form of advertising, and a highly questionable form at that) - your point is well taken, and I've edited my responses accordingly.

I didn't follow through with the offer for a free case as the supplier was clearly lying. Their materials state they are a small american family owned company - but they must not speak English to well and the case is far to close to other designs to be original. They also required you to buy a note 20 case as well, no thanks.

We need better cases produced for the Nexus 7

Guys I have contacted a few case manufacturers to see if they will produce cases or covers for this tablet as its going to be a popular device I hope they will listen and so do it quick.
I contacted Rock cases that do the quicksand series which is absolutely beautiful, and contacted Beyza cases as they do very elegant designs for good prices.
yeah, of course, in fact, many cases have been produced,

But not of high standard that I come to expect from Rock or Beyza, there is allot of the bulk produced cases which have the same design but different branding but nothing out of the ordinary has been made yet.
I think in the next coming month or so, higher quality/better cases will start to be produced. We just have to be patient
Some very high quality cases are available for custom order already:

beestee those are too similar bookstyle, there isnt any backcover style that rock does or slip in cases like beza's out there at the mo but I do agree those cases are quality but I dont want to add bulk so I rather the other styles.
It'll take time for the more known manufacturers to decide or make cases for the Nexus 7.
If you want a quality case, just be patient and buy a cheap one for now.

Yeah that what I am thinking of doing, but impatient as always
IMO
Usually, unless for some unforeseen reason, manufacturers have a plethora of case options selling well before an item's release.
Probably, my theory here is; they didn't know when it was coming out, it was all too quick, not enough buzz, they don't see a large market demand, time money invested would be more than their return due to low number of preorders/orders, they didn't get the dimensions/sample early enough to have them ready, considered the existing universal 7" case options would be sufficient.
Consider most screen protector companies didn't even have them ready and became available for preorder after the fact.
I'm trying this one for now: moko case it's relatively cheap, but one of the problems I have with almost all of the cases on the market at the moment is that they wrap the entire bezel, which is just lame. This one at least, is only attaching at a few points. Plus it has the auto wake magnet in the cover (despite the one reviewer's statement that apparently he was shipped the wrong one).
I'll update when I get it.
This one has got my vote so far; but since it won't be in stock until August 20th I'll be looking for other options until then.

Try to hold off as long as possible, remember most places that are taking orders haven't even delivered units yet.
I'd say mid-August early September would be the best time frame to expect an abundance of cases to hit the market.
There may be some reluctance to make an expensive case for a cheap tablet that so far has not been explicitly marketed to the image conscious. It is not really a fashion accessory like an Apple product might be. So they may be waiting to see if the market develops.

Yes! I bought this one (was $3 less at the time). It's not great. N7 slips a slight amount to make the camera hole off, or the sides look angled. Adds some weight. No out-off. I may just buy a pouch, I like the feel with no case much better.

New BobjGear Silicone Case

Just came in today and I'm pleased so far with the purchase. It's not a cheap case ($20.00) but it does feel substantial enough to help my tablet survive any reasonable drop. The fit is very snug and the cutouts for the speaker and attachments are perfectly positioned. The power and volume buttons are covered so the feel is soft and activation will have to be deliberate. I'm a little concerned about heating so I'll keep an eye out for that potential issue and report back after a day or so of use. I find the additional weight is noticeable, but it definitely makes it easier for me to hold in the landscape or portrait position.
After several days of my typical use (web browsing, email, short video clips) l haven't seen any reasons for concerns about temperature issues. I remain pleased with this purchase at this time and definitely feel a lot more comfortable that my tablet has the additional protection.
Thanks for the info mine will ship tomorrow. I hope its nicer looking then this amzer case.this case will only provide drop protection on corners and very minor bumps. The Bob case to me seems much stronger and the curves look sleek. My tablet hardly leaves my mind.
Would love to hear more feedback about this case. I am considering this case or the Seidio Active with stand that can hold up to use from a 3 year old and 1 year old.

When my children were that age and if a device like the Nexus 7 existed, their only time with the tablet would have been with adult supervision. Maybe by 5 years of age, but I would pursue a device designed for children's use and safety. JMHO based on raising two boys, for what little that is worth...
Additional info:
ConsumerReports.org has some reviews in an article listed as "Review of tablets for kids" that may or may not be of interest...

I would have to agreee. At that age everything can become a projectile without a hint or warning. Only a cute smile and giggle after sometimes a OOPS.. I have my bobgear case now. I can say it adds alot of protection to the device but even so if you drop it hard and it lands in a way causing the device to twist it will Crack the screen still.. I think the only true protection for these devices is BE CAREFUL. do not drop or abuse them. toddlers are designed by nature to test the limits of anything they get there little fingers on.If its not tied down they will sling it just to see how far it goes. Then expect you to give it back so they can try again...
I have a big issue with Consumer Reports. Its a site that gets money from devices and manufactures to give them ratings. while at the same time expect consumers to pay a premium to see there findings. DOUBLE Dipping. they are as reliable as congress.

Agree with your opinion on CR and toddlers. However, CR listed the most different tablets for children when I googled of all the sites listed. A good starting point for one to do their own due diligence prior to purchase.

[REVIEW] Swees Nexus 7 Case

Hey Guys.
I've just received my Swees Case for Nexus 7 and wanted to share my impression about it.
First of all, i couldn't find it on the American Amazon website. So after the review, if anyone in the America is still interested, you might need to look for yourself.
So here we go.
Similar to many products for the Nexus 7, it this case has tried to imitate the Smart-Cover look. That's fine.
So on the bottom, this case is like a hard-case protecting the Nexus from Scratches, Bumps, etc. quite well. There's a gap between speakers, and all Buttons and Microphone, so you get no disturbance using the Nexus with the Case. At the front, there's this Leather-Like material covering the Screen.
The cover can be used as a stand. Application is very easy, every child can do it and your Nexus will stand on table-tops or even your couch. It's quite stable I'd say, at least from my testing on even softer surfaces, it still stood like a rock.
At the end of the covering, there is some magnet build inside, so the cover will fix itself to be closed at times. It's not the strongest magnet though, but for transporting and carriage it's quite alright. The cover will also trigger sleep / awake mode when opened or closed.
For this unbelievable price it's quite a good deal if you ask me. Many covers I've seen in stores were priced 3x as much, but didn't show the quality. Anyhow. I can recommend it :
UK* : http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=swees+nexus+7
* I got the black one, but i guess other colors are quite nice. 7,99 Pounds ( Don't know if they charge shipping in the UK ) is quite a deal.
DE : http://www.amazon.de/Swees-Schutzhü...K0ME/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351992143&sr=8-1
This is exactly where i ordered from. ( all for 12,99€ )
http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...wees+nexus+7&sprefix=swees+%2Celectronics%2C0
Again for DE - diffrent colors are available.
At least for the german amazon, they even give an additional Pen & Screen Protector. Compared to Samsungs "S-Pen" this pen is quite better build wise. I wouldn't recommend using it for drawing professionally. For notes quite alright.
Can't really say much about the screen protector, I don't usually use one and probably won't use it.
At last : 2 pictures showing the Stand function and overall look of the case.
I am open for any question regarding this product. I am not affiliated with this product or company in any way, I just want to help our users to fight an excellent case which is affordable.
( Btw. I had a long way finding this case. There are 100s of cases to be found on amazon and i read through a lot of feedback from each of them. From the cheaper cases, you can expect poor quality, chemical smell as well as rash on skin, and many other things. Therefor i am very pleased with what I've got my hands onto. )
Thanks for the review, but this is the common 'eBay case,' there's a 140-reply thread about it already. Can be had for about $10USD with free shipping.

FULL SCREEN Edge to Edge Coverage NO HALO Glass Protector

Got this in today. FULLY covers the front. Edge to edge protection. Zero HALO.
I tried, SKinomi, SuperShieldz, iMonkey, Xtreme Guard, IQ Shield, and this is by far the best one.
Video HERE
So there is a halo, I can clearly see it. At the end of the video when you showed us the phone with the screen on, of course you can't see the halo. I don't see the halo on my xtremeguards when my screen is on too.
You said that the black will hide the halo. That still doesn't stop dust or dirt get underneath where the halo is.
I do like that it's edge to edge. Although I would much rather have the whole screen protector be clear.

Thanks for the review, but there's clearly a halo issue with this protector. Just sayin'.
After reading sooo many reviews, and seeing only occasional evidence of protectors without halo, and then it's only when the owner broke-out the hair dryer and dedicated some time to it, I am still of the mind that there is no clear winner here.
When just about everyone is getting great results with a specific brand, then we can really declare success with this.
Thanks again though for the video!
It's funny how there is a lot of halo but you try to save face by showing the phone with the screen on and a light color on the screen so we can't see it.
I'm guessing you got this sent for free in exchange for a review and you wanted to put a positive review out?
Halo free? Huh? I see loads of halo in the video.
I know there was halo on the left side in the video, I said in it that I needed to push it down. I didn't try to hide that. If it was a free product review then why didn't I provide the seller or a web link?
In any case, once I used the hair dryer it removed the halo.... But more importantly this is the only screen protector that goes edge to edge. I used super shieldz, skinomi, and a couple others and even without halo they leave way too much of the edges exposed for my liking.

I agree - sometimes.
I've been offered plenty of products to review, and in each case, sometimes much to the dismay of the product seller, I say exactly what I think. Plus/minus nothing. I am not beholden to these sellers just because they sent me their product.
All that said, I have to agree that there is plenty of evidence of reviewers being lapdogs for the sellers. Not that this is the case in this thread, but all too often this happens - especially on Amazon.

Yup, I agree.
By the way, I wasn't referring to this thread either.
His comment just made me laugh.
I dislike the concept of those "in exchange for a review" type of reviews though. It's difficult to discern who is genuine and who is trying to gain favoritism. Also dislike the reviews from people who haven't purchased the product but review out of spite, anger, jealousy etc...
Perfect example: Note 5 reviews - a lot of Note 4 owners who never bought it complaining about lost features.
People are gullible and look at these reviews then make an (un)informed decision.
I want to get me one of those "Rwal" tempered glass for my Note 5. I bet you can order that cheap knife from the same place.

Review SCHNAIL titan note 20 ultra case

Been testing the case for the past three days.
Durable feels Good in hands
Camera bump is well covered
USB type c flapper for extra protection
Kick stand
Observations
Case shape is on top makes it a little harder to pull notifications, however within settings that's fix by pulling it down from within the screen on the bottom, spen slot sits a little bit high.
I want to thanks SCHNAIL for all around great case and giving me the opportunity to participate with the product development, I will use this case daily it offers the right protection.
You didn't "participate with the product development" - the case is already for sale. You fell for a marketing ploy to promote a product across various forums through inherently biased "reviews" generated by promotional discounts (something you should always disclose if you want to appear even remotely ethical).
It is helping with 'product development' because they can take the information from these reviews and use it to improve future cases for future devices. Not exactly hard to understand. I'll be posting my honest review in a few days as my FREE cases are on the way.
