Unlocked ATT Moto X in Europe, OTA question

My X is with ATT, just unlocked it. Now I am about to move Europe working in both Germany and Spain. Can anyone tell me if/how I can receive OTA updates? If I use any local carrier and receive ATT OTA update, will I brick my phone? Thanks!

Can someone help me out please? How to receive/update an unlocked ATT Moto X in Europe?
HAVE ATT Moto x überhaupt got the OTA update to 4.4..2 yet?
Otherwise; same boat here, waiting for OTA update, unlocked ATT Moto x, used in the Netherlands..
You will receive the AT&T update no matter the carrier you use the phone with, it is safe and no problem.

[Q] Pure Edition's bootloader unlocked ?

Hello, I wish to know if the Pure Edition has an unlocked bootloader ? The Moto Voice and others Motorola features are they presents in the Pure Edition ? Someone know if in Europe the MotoMaker version is only a Pure Edition ?
No it doesn't have an unlocked bootloader, I will never buy a phone with a bootloader already unlocked when shipped, which is insecure.
It, however, does have an unlockable bootloader which you can manually unlock through Motorola website: https://motorola-global-portal.cust...e/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a/action/auth
Whatever default Moto X features should be included in all the variants. The Pure version for US will not have LTE bands support for Europe and you will only get 3G.
Yeah I mean unlockable sorry for the mistake. Thanks for your answer !

Confused about which version

Is the dev edition sim unlocked and bootloader unlockable? Which other version is?

Wrong model number?

Hi I just buyed a Moto e5 and was looking for the model number in settings and under SKU it says xt1601, in Google that model is Moto g4 play. In fastboot says the same. Anybody know if this is normal or where I can find the right model?

XAA CSC for SM-F916U1 is Thom Browne Edition.

I got my device from Craigslist and it *was* a tmobile sm-f916u with tmo/tmo/tmo. I wanted to remove carrier bloat because I'm on Google Fi so I flashed the sm-f916u1 with the XAA csc after some research. Everything seemed to work fine except for visual voicemail. However after seeing that the u1 started getting android 11 and I found the xaa build for android 11 I flashed it and upon reboot I have a boot animation or the Thom Browne edition, and there was a wallpaper set or it. Also there was a post upgrade window that showed it upgrading some thom browne stuff.
When I searched phonedb for thom browne you can see an 'OEMID' number that has xaa in it, maybe that is what that csc was for. It also makes sense when you think about a special edition needing to be carrier agnostic, since its bought direct from samsung.

I flashed this firmware by accident twice now. Once on Android 10 and once on 11.

Which csc do you think we should use if we want an sm-f916u1 build and don't want carrier bloat?

XAA. In the attached that looks like it may be the Thom Browne edition with F916U1TBU1CUA1. My phone build says F916U1UEU1CUA1

Understood, I think we both agree that xaa is the thom browne edition. Earlier you said that you accidentally flashed it twice now. I'm wondering that what other csc codes besides XAA are not carrier branded, given that you accidentally flashed xaa twice I'm wondering what was the csc code that you were actually going for?
I want an unbranded unlocked build that isn't thom browne.
Make sense?
The regular firmware is F916U1UEU1CUA1.
The region code XAA is samsung unlocked so you had that part right.
Here's what you need to download the non-Thom Browne
Model: SM-F916U1 CSC: XAA
Click Manual
Then enter these:
PDA: F916U1UEU1CUA1
CSC: F916U1OYM1CUA1
Phone: F916U1UEU1CUA1
If you notice in the CSC it says F916U1OYM1CUA1. OYM is the regular version of the firmware.
If you get one that says OYZ in it that is the special edition.
Thank you guys for the information! I always wanted to try and see what the difference is with the Thom Browne Edition and now that I flashed it, I'm glad I didn't spend that kind of money...lol...
Aside from the boot logo, homescreen theme, and the bookmark to Thom Browne's site, I really can't find anything else. I'd say the exterior on the Thome Browne is good looking but, at the same time I can't justify that.
Besides the pros/cons, thank you guys again for telling us about this and fulfilling my curiosity!

I'll try to download the non-OYZ version.
Question, when I boot into download mode, it detects my devices as tmb/tmb/tmb even though I've flashed an xaa SM-F916U1 build on it and it works just fine. Originally I got this device from someone on Craiglist and it came with SM-F916U TMB build on it.
Now it works just fine, and it is unlocked and working with Google Fi too, but I think it is still actually tmb/tmb/tmb when in recovery or download mode.
