Redmi 9 GPS Doesn't Work - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

Google Maps or any Location app doesn't seem to be working at all.
google Maps working fine in searching and directions but when i press on my location button nothing happens and i tested the sensors with some apps seems to be working fine so that happened with anyone else or just me ?
ps : i tried wiping data, restating phone, checked permissions and tried other location apps and nothing worked.
- Phone Model : M2004J19G
- MIUI Version : 11.0.7.0 Global

Make sure flight mode is disabled
and "Location" in the notification bar is enabled
Try a app called ''GPS test"
I just test "maps" its spot-on with my location (GPS test says : 23 in view / 8 in use = accuracy 5m )
I'm on 11.0.8 Global same G model

[FIX] Google Maps Going Crazy on MM (CM 13 or OEM)- Fix

I think many people have experienced the problem with GoogleMaps Navigation not working. Either there is no GPS lock, or the GMaps doe not continuously update the position. It eill update every minut or so, or just look like it has frozen:
For me this is what worked: You need to disable GoogleLocationManagerService. Google Location manager is flaky.
1. Download app "DisableService" by WangQi. Get only this one since it works for me.
2, NEEDS ROOT to work.
3. Run app....go to "System" tab.
4. Find "GooglePlayServices"
5. Click on it to open it.
6. Find "GoogleLocationManagerService." and UNCHECK it. This disables it and it will become red.
7. Reboot !!
IF IT WORKS PLEAE HIT THE THANKS BUTTON !!!!!!
Google Maps works like a charm for me, without any patch or workaround with 6.01.
Are you sure that you have installed the right version of google play services?

Unable to turn on Maps location sharing

I have a x2 pro CN version, installed the Google apk from apkmirror but have been unable to share my location on G maps, I have tried un installing it and installing from G play to no avail.
when I try to share it just tells me that it was unable to turn on location history which I have activated and then directs me to the location permissions which are enabled
Hi,
I am also having this issue. The permissions for maps are set for both location (always on) and physical activity.
Despite this, location history just says paused. I'm on C.27 China Rom.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

barcode scanner problem and app crashing

Hello,
I have Realme X2 Pro with succesfully installed Lineage OS 17.1 + magisk + fakestore + microg. Microg self-check - everything checked except "UnifiedNIp do not have Location to test Geocoder." is not checked.
Google account added (new without any information about me, just for the purpouse of having google account).
Google device registration enabled
Google cloud messaging enabled and 2 apps registered (tested on Push Notification Tester - everything works, although Whasapp notifications not delivered from time to time)
Google Safety net enabled with third-party server
I have Gcam camera app version 5betaFinal.200510.2111build-7.3.020 with GCam Enable Aux All Device V2 module installed in Magisk and also stock Lineage camera app version 2.02.037 (58-00)
Problem number one:
I use this calorie intake app that works perfectly, but it has a feature with which you can scan a barcode to add it as a part of a meal. It is called "Kaloricke tabulky" from Dine4Fit. Thing is when the camera inside an app lounches the scanner (seems like that is in the app, it doesn't open external app or camera app), I point at barcode, perfectly in focus and it does nothing. I tried to open stock camera and read the barcode with the stock camera app QR option and it reads it (shows the numbers of a barcode), as well as simple Barcode Scanner by ZXing Team from Aurora Store.
Can anybody help me with that please?
Problem number two:
Every app I downloaded from Aurora Store work smooth and with no problem, even my banking apps which is awesome, but only one app called Liftago (something like Uber), version 2.89.8280.8280 , it launches, asking me if I want to activate with my google account, facebook or phone number). If I press the row there I could input the phone number (don't want to pair it with google obviously), the app always crashes. Tried to reinstall it, tried older versions, no luck.
Could it be something with the microg setting or fakestore? Any other idea?
Thank you very much!

Note 20 Ultra (exynos v) battery drain - can't seem to find the culprit

I have the Galaxy note s20 ultra 5G Exynos version, and as from the first set-up, I got repeatedly disappointing screen on-time results, ranging from 2-3.5 hours.
I Started using different monitoring apps - BBTS and Accubattery to look for the culprit.
So these are my findings so far:
1. Google play services drain my battery. I found out that
So here is what I did so far
- uninstalled updated for Google play services
- wiped cache and data all over
- wiped cache partition
- disabled in-app permissions to body sensors, couldn't disable the physical activity and location permission
- disabled Google accounts sync at all
- disabled Google play services and forced stop (not a good idea, kept receiving tons of notifications to turn it on)
- Log-out of my 3 google accounts and re-logged
- disabled google maps tracking location and actually every possible place or app that would use my location/physical activity
Nothing Happened
2. Sensors - Google play services is using this sensor in the background: (4+ hours)
Google Play Services:
- motion sensor
- accelerometer
Android System:
- Grip System
3. Wakelocks
- CameraService_worker by android system count: 1000+, keeping device wake for 1+ hours - this wake lock is talked about in note 20 ultra forums, seems to be triggered when the phone is closed and it's moving with you. the only solution found is to turn off "sensors" and it stops - but then you lose your camera, nevertheless this wake-lock is still present in safe-mode.
- NlpCollectorWakeLock by Google play services.
Nevertheless, I tried ALL of the possible modifications to improve battery life but with no success
- Screen: low res + 48Hz
- Almost every app on deep sleep
- Disabled location permission and different permission for apps
- Disabled Google maps location history
- Enabled adaptive battery
- disabled all apps permissions to location and physical activity
+ in different battery apps - battery check out in good health.
My theory is that something is setting the google play service to fetch motion detection - and thi

I would be more than happy to hear your take on this; the last option is to do a factory reset that I'm trying to avoid.

Question How to enable or fix Google Maps Timeline / Location History?

Hello, since I've had Timeline enabled for years, I'd like to somehow get it to work on Vivo x60 Pro Plus.
Currently I've tried almost everything possible to enable it, but when I click on "Enable Location History" there is a very fast blackscreen pop up in millisecond range and then nothing happens it disappears in ms, then in the settings it says "Location History is disabled" in bold italics.
I have disabled some bloatware via ADB AppControl v1.6.3 and must say I'm super happy with the phone, interface, notification, battery including fast charging, although I'm very picky about phones, everything is fine except for Maps timeline / location history.
Play Store I have officially installed via Vivo Store, push notification works fine for me, Maps permission in the settings all turned on.
All Location History settings in google account settings are ON but device does not sending GPS information to google server...
Does anyone have ne idea how I can fix the gms (google mobile services) ev. I have thought about to copy apk from the Funtouch image to install the complete google apks via AppControl? Because of bold italics in the settings, i think there is some missing apk that maps timline needs to work in the background...
Hi, same problem with iqoo 9 pro, any solution
