Disable or Bypass Knox restrictions - Samsung Galaxy A6 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
Since my professional phone Galaxy A6 (SM-A600 FN) has been replaced by à Galaxy A40, i would like to convert the "old" A6 for a personnal use.
The issue is that Knox doesn't permit to active the Developpers Options and I can't flash any custom recovery / ROM
I searched for tools to remove or bypass Knox but didn't find a solution.
Do you know if it is possible ?
Thanks

Advise for ROM for Galaxy Ace

Hi Guys,
Need a bit of advise - I have acquired a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and the idea is to let the mother in law have it just to see if she can get on with a smartphone.
I have unlocked it, and had a bit of a play with it (it is currently running stock Android 2.3.5) and I had forgot how un user friendly the older versions of Android were (especially the Samsung based one's).
Anyway, I am looking for a more up to date ROM (maybe something similar to one of the newer Samsungs) which is easier to use etc.
Any help or advise would be appreciated.

root and change recovery without changing KNOX-counter?

Hi,
I am considering to buy a S5 mini - but I would like to use custom ROMs and root. Now I read that the S5 useses KNOX and that there is also a KNOX-counter (seems to be 2 different things).
Is there a way to get root without changing the KNOX-counter?
And - is there also a way to get a custom recovery without changing the KNOX-counter?
(this are 2 different questions and I would love to get an answer for both seperately ...)
It seems like there is no method to get the KNOX counter back from 0x1 but there seems to be a method to get - at least root - without changing the KNOX-counter.
I had been searching around quite a bit but could not really find a definitve answer - plus: I am not a native speaker but consider my english as quite good - but the phrase: "trip KNOX-counter" which is often used in this context (e. g. here) confuses me (checking trip in a dictionary gives you just some funny results) - I assume it means the counter is changed (i. e. ++1)?
regards
at this moment there is no way to get the s5 flashed without void break in the KNOX-counter.

Hi,
thanks for the answer.
I assume that applies to recovery and root? And I also assume that we both are talking about the S5 mini?

ofcourse s5 mini, and yea, flashin a root kernel and custom recovery will touch the knox counter
Kingroot seems to not trigger Knox on the mobiles i have tried(S3 and S4-I9505 and S4-I9506) and (LG Leon), atm i am waiting for s5 mini to arrive and i will test it.
I got a trick to flash recovery without knox counter trip on the other mobiles too which i will try on s5 mini also, i will report back tommorow or the day after.
Try Kingroot at your own risk as always, through it is only root and not recovery too.

I tried latest Kingroot (4.9.3 as of yesterday from apkmirror.com) and no deal (G800H latest ZTO 5.1.1 version, BPE1 basebabd)... If you're successful with your other method, please post. Thank you.

I wrote before: G800H.
I think the list of supported phones lists G800 for the stock KitKat 4.4.2 ROM only, it doesn't work on 5.1.1.
sm-g800f kingroot works without trip knox, my knox is still 0x0, but i cannot get recovery on the same way as the older galaxy with Rashr or Flashify.

Can I root my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T815 via android- or linux-pc-based strategies?

Hi everyone!
My first post and I will directly start with a question
I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T815 (Android 6.0.1, stock). Since I am extremely annoyed that I do not have write access to my sdcard I want to root the device.
So far, I tried some of the android-based strategies (framaroot, kingroot). But unfortunately they did not work for my device...
Via google and the search function of the forum I did not find any tutorials on how to root the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T815 with the help of adb installed on a linux-pc.
I only found tutorials that used a windows-pc (Odin-based rooting approaches, i.e. https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/guide-root-tab-s2-t3205019). Since I do not have Windows available this is not an option for me.
My question: Are there any users that have successfully rooted the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 T815 either with an android-based or a linux-pc-based rooting strategy?
Any help is very much appreciated!

Welcome to the forums!
The only way that I've heard of to flash Samsung devices in Linux is Heimdall. I've done it years ago on another Samsung Android device, but ive always preferred Odin in Windows. It would be worth a look for sure, you may be able to flash TWRP that way.
Also, you might look into Dirty Cow. If that hasn't been patched on your tab s2, then you could try that in Linux too.

Found this, but havent tried it: https://davideddu.org/blog/posts/how-to-flash-a-recovery-image-using-heimdall/
i know this is an old thread, but for the record in case someone needs a solution:
use a virtual machine.
just did it using fedora/kvm and an xp vm.
i passed through a usb controller to be on the safe side, fired up odin and turned a chinese t815c tablet with no trace of gapps into a hk device with all the bells and whistles from google.
