[CLOSED][Android 11 - ROMS] Misc builds from me - OnePlus 7 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello all, I just wanted to announce that I have started building few roms for our beloved Oneplus 7, 7Pro. The main goal is to help devs find how Android 11 would work and the current bugs. I'll share Mega link when I finish the first build.

Looks good man, excited for your progress and development
Best of luck!

Great news! ..... I take a site and I hope to try it soon ..... Cheers!

Magic bro!

Have you actually got any builds yet? I have a feeling your "announcement" was way too premature. I also have a feeling we're going to have to wait for a new TWRP version, 3.4.0-0 doesn't seem to work properly with Android 11 encryption.

Seems to work just fine for me. I'm on 11 and have twrp. It's more magisk that's seemingly problematic. I get crash dumped if I flash it but oh well...im going back to OOS 10 until 11 is out. Or a port of the 8 is made.

A11? I assume you mean Android 11 on a OP7pro? Yes I do. I'm running the unofficial LOS build. And before that I was on AOKP. I used twrp on AOKP and pitch black recovery on LOS and everything ran just fine. :cyclops:

You need to flash Magisk A11.zip (see post 56 at the link below)

Thank you for overhyping stuff that apparently did not even going to happen.

Well, I think someone in kernel forum mentioned that TWRP seems to be working ok if you use phrase as your encryption method..
Can't switch yet to test since data is not working for Verizon or its mvno.

Sorry for the delay, I've had some problems with my build machine. I'll upload first build today. I'm sorry X_X

Is MIUI 9.2.1.0 NDDCNEK hidden stable Chinese build?

I got the download link from a nice guy via MIUI forum.

interesting find! however, i somehow doubt this is a stable build, seeing as it caused a bootloop on your device...
or maybe the rom just wasnt compatible with flashing via twrp?

I'm kind a sceptical about this. I'm in a Miui device team and if there is any beta or stable to be released, we would be the first to know about it or test it. There is no information on Miui forum for use yet. Could be fake... Just saying though.

I don't think any of this post is fake, just look at the download link in the OP, its legit from Xiaomi's/MIUI's download servers tho
Could be Unreleased just yet, Cancelled, or maybe its bugged so they work on newer version and don't release this rom probably.
who knows.. just wait for the official announcement

It seems like the module has to potential to work on any device other than tissot. But that's not the case with me. Instantly FCs on start on bullhead running android 8.1.0
I will grab a logcat once I'm at my home. Hopefully it will help you to resolve the issue and have it work on any device

Works fine with sagit running LineageOS 15.1
Would be better if this was updated to the camera from MIUI 10
Anyway keep up the good work! Was waiting for a MIUI camera magisk module
Amazing, works even on Mi Mix 2 – latest LOS 15.1 – Including slo-mo! Burst also works (unlike most gcam mods). However, can't shoot the standard 1080p & 4k video (freezes & then shows "cannot connect to camera" error). I continue to test this on Mi Mix 2, thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to get my hands on MIUI 10's system so I can extract the Camera app from there and test a module out of it. I'll update the post once I get a hold on it.

AOSP or LinageOS etc.?

Hi!
So I'm wondering if there is an ongoing developement of AOSP or LinageOS or other atlernatives for the Mi8, and if we will see any official beta release anytime soon?
I'm sick and tired of miui and all the system apps that's impossible to remove, and they keep fighting back to be default app. Grr! I would very much like a cleaner build, and would gladly be a beta tester. Although my experience from Mi5 is that miui felt more responsive than the linageos nightlies, I would rather have that and be able to choose my own apps.
Would I be even better off with this new Treble stuff?
Load MIUI 10 onto it, or global MIUI 9. Have no issues with default apps on MIUI 10. Had that with the original MIUI 9 China-rom though.

Are you able to remove all the Mi apps? Video, wallet, app store etc?
The fact is that I'm most fond of as close to stock android I can get, which is why I want AOSP. If it was possible to build AOSP on my own and still get camera, GPS and stuff to work as it should, then I'd do that.
I think it's better to have a rom built without bloat, rather than try to hide it afterwards.

Can you guide us into this MIUI 10 thing? I have china rom and unlock bootloader. No Root/TRWP or anything.
Just follow the steps here; https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/8-7-12-v2.44949/
You need TWRP.
Or wait till sources are released and there will probably be development available for AOSP/Lineage.
I have installed a treble rom (I think the RR one). The rom is working well but I went back to MIUI as Oreo doesn't support the notch yet.

There are a lot of very good Indian devs that will get their hands on this in a coupe of weeks.
Unfortunately for the global community, by the time the 9T Pro is released interest in this will have dropped off, as something else will have come along to excite people.
In the meantime there is Andy Yan's LOS GSI.

Not yet. Still got 3 days until I can unlock the phone. It will be the first ROM I'll install.
Installing a GSI is only a couple of extra steps.
Check out this for K20 Pro specifics
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Xiaomi-Redmi-K20-Pro - you'll want to then head to the Mi 9 page as it is the same installation instruction.
Then this for generic installation.

If the 9t Pro is released, why would that not be a good thing for this phone? They are virtually identical with just more bands supported on the 9t Pro. All we'd need is a good kernel then we could throw in whatever GSI then your away laughing. Its still such early days.

It will be a good thing, but it could be a lot better if it was available now. The point I was trying to make was that by the time it arrives some developers may have lost interest, decided it's not worth the wait and gone and bought something that is readily available. The last rumour of its release was that it will be 'after summer' (winter for you guys in the south). So that could be another 3 months away, enough time to turn off potential developers.
I think you should wait for the developer to fix pop up camera won't retrack on all GSI rom.

Andy Yan has fixed it in his LOS GSI. Phhuson is looking at tidying up the fix before adding it to his main GSI branch.

Try GSIs for OnePlus 7 pro. Since much of the hw is similar it should be pretty stable as well
BTW, is it possible to flash GSI with bootloader locked as it's possible to flash system image in fastboot as well

mate let us know what works or no if you try any of these.personaly im interesting
well mi11 pro and ultra share the same development.
worst part is that a dev must have the device to build the device tree so everyone can build for the device.
theres a fundraising going on but xda-notdevelopers doesn't allow devs to work unless they profit from it ^^
At this stage I half wish I bought the Poco f3

This is great news, i have personally had enough of MIUI, even xiaomi.eu version. Is there anywhere to stay up to date with this project?

I used it for a week... Almost flawless but there is only one release, there is not an update. MIUI camera is not working, so that's the downside.

Was it abandoned? Camera not working might be a deal breaker if it was. Hoping for Lineage or Pixel experience soon, something like that.
