Lagging, freezing - Redmi Note 9 Questions & Answers

Is ure phone also laggin and freezin and overall really slow??? i have the 3gb ram model

Same for me. Unusable. I can not even play Pokemon Go. Or simply take a picture. Take a year to load camera app.

hi, that happen to me when i buy the phone beacuse i have the version of miui 12.0.2 and was the same when i was in miui 12.0.3, but i update to the 12.0.4 global version and joke aside it feels like other phone, smoot and fast like it should be at the star. You can try that if you can.

MIUI 12 is very recent and not optimized for every device yet, update to 12.0.4, big progress there, and more to come.
Redmi Note 9 is also (normally) going to get Android 11 at some point, so, sit tight.
MIUI 11 had better battery life and performance, but we can't stick on that forever, updating to 12 was needed, and no reason 12 won't get that level of polish 11 had, give it time.

Yeah, the better he can do is update to 12.0.4, believe in me i was so close to sold this phone like days after buy it, but right now it's like a pretty good phone. I think 12.0.4 tiene un mejor manejo de memoria ram ( i don't now how to say that in English).

Its fully stock Running the latest Miui update 10.2.2.0
Also global version. Does it drain more when phone is in idle? If so maybe faulty fingerprint reader keeping phone awake? I also use 3g always instead of 4g and nova launcher aswell.
Edit:I also can't know what's causing battery drain issue without seeing battery graph in settings

OxygenOS 9.5.7 update available for 5G model

There's a new update our for the 5G variant, 9.5.7
It adds very little and quite frankly is a bit of a disgrace - this "update" is still the June path level and to make matters worse the feature disparity between the 4G & 5G is widening!

Which do you think is the majority device? Yeah so that's the one they'll dev for first. That's the risk of getting into technology at launch, exactly why I didn't bother with the 5g version, wait until it's properly bedded in and the norm.

Oh I get that. It;s the absolute lack of care from OnePlus that p**ses me off. They can't even be bothered to answer support emails concerning the 5G

Apparently there's an ongoing issue with the patch they were going to release, hence the delay. If it was me, I'd be happier with a working phone than an updated, mebbe insecure, mebbe glitchy phone. They have said the patch will be coming soon, presumably to bring it to parity with the 4G models.

I told them the phone wasn't fit for purpose as advertised features still didn't work properly, and the continued lack of updates made me question whether they ever would.
OnePlus' silence when it comes to answering queries or support tickets about the 5G is inexcusable - they clearly aren't interested in this phone variant, and I doubt it will ever gain parity with the (lesser) 4G variant.
I'm either going to get a Note 10 or Mate 30 when they're available - I know the Note 10 can do 5G and I almost guarantee that the Mate 30 will too!
How can you go to 60Hz after using 90Hz? I went to a local phone shop to see the Note 10(+), but just because of its 60Hz screen I wouldn't buy it. Period. It just feels sluggish and laggy. All the animations feel as if they are capped because of the 60Hz display.

I'm looking forward to a phone where the main features actually work! If I have to sacrifice a bit of screen refresh in order to have a functioning phone, then so be it!

The most stable, battery friendly AOSP ROM for K20 Pro?

Hi everyone,
I have been using the stock miui for some time without any dramas. I wouldn't mind going back to an AOSP ROM. The main thing holding me back right now is, I find stock miui 12 to be really stable, battery friendly, and retains all the camera functionality. Also, I haven't needed to stuff around with magisk or whatever (excuse me, it has been ages since using a custom ROM) to get basic things apps Netflix working.
So if anyone has any suggestions for which rom to check out, please make them. Keeping in mind the following;
Battery Life
Stability
Camera Functionality
Apps like Netflix working
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far, and I'll make sure to click thanks if you reply.

U can try evox
which is very much stable and getting equal battery life comp with miui

I have recently left xiaomi.eu on this phone and tried a few ROMs. Most gave me problems with ANX and GCam. The only one on which both work is RR. I don't install a lot of apps and don't spend hours on the phone but battery usage is way better than the most optimized xiaomi.eu ROM.

Gcam and anx camera works perfectly for me in evox.
Make sure you have flashed the rom right.
Pixel Experience is running smoothly. Battery management is very good. While running tons of apps in the background I still can get around 9 hours of SoT (screen on time).
I use this ROM as a daily driver for about 2 months and still had no problems. Apart from this, I fully recommend to use GCam instead of built-in camera app.

Did I say somewhere that I wanted gapps ? No, never.
Best battery on pe+, however fingerprint is not as good as open source vendor and aod has a broken animation so it's best to not use it imo. Camera works same as stock if you install and camera correctly
For me havoc os is best in battery department
Thanks a lot for the replies guys. Have a lot of ROM threads to check out.

Question SM-G998B AUE1 MAY UPDATE

You can post what you feel about the update here .
For me
1) qr code in camera app is way faster
2) camera doesnt heat up the phone now
3) gaming also runs cooler
4) animations are better
5) expect an sot of 1h more than you got with april update.
Looking for more changes ..
Tell me in comment .
I think samsung is doing a great job ,
I was about to trade off my s21 ultra with mi 11 ultra , but this update has stopped me doing so.
I can't wait until my phone recieve the update.
This is so promising that samsung still fixing and adding new features every month.
I would say a 10% better everything even though it might be a placebo. All running smooth. Used the camera a lot today for pics and videos. Youtube, browsing and etc, and now 3:33 SOT and battery at 46%. I guess that may be a tad better than before. Camera seems better too somehow.

I think they are moving towards apple kind of ecosystem and software.
And if they can do that , i am not leaving samsung for as long as they maintain that .
They still need to work on animations , accidental touches, and 60-120 hz management in some apps

First full day with May's update. I did a clean install via Odin since it was the second update in a row of over 1GB.
Everything is running smoothly. Battery I think is maybe 5-10% better but have to give it a few days. Can't comment on the camera yet. Usage is on WiFi, 120Hz, FHD+.

Try Frija, its very fast to download it.
wise advice. I only use one time to install PHE before change CSC, then always wait for OTA
OKay, will wait it out then. Last month I received the update on April 9th; so this time I presume it will be similarly timed.
I'm able to achieve 10hours Sot (48 hours cycle) on this release, prior to that the sot was in the 8/9 hours. I mostly use browser, youtube, youtube music and ocasional gaming (Wild Rift)
On Vodafone model in UK so I expect it will be a couple of weeks before I get this but it sounds like it makes what is already one of the best phones money can buy even better.
Great to see Samsung get the Exynos up to near Snapdragon levels of quality at last.
Unlocked exynos UK here, no sign of the update yet. I've read it improves the shutter response, which would be great!

if you have made any tuning, share it with us so that we can all improve our beast!
Here's mine. I have most battery intensive options on though, like 120 fps and such.
Bananablob debloated?
Yes, on latest MIUI Mix. I'm debloated in the sense that the rom is pre debloated itself.
Also, I'd be surprised if a few bloatwares would reduce a performance score that much.
What adjustments do you suggest ?
