Hello everyone, I need help, I bought a used moto g7 plus and every day I ran out of signal, I looked for the imei and it came out as reported for theft, in other words they scammed me, well what I did was unlock the bootloader and become root later, With xposed and the imei changue module, I changed the imei to an old free cell phone that I had. But the problem is that I still don't have a network connection, what can I do? From already thank you very much

You bought a stolen device and your only action is to fake the IMEI?? This Xposed module only hides your real IMEI with a faked one but it doesn't change it for real.

Not!! Read well before commenting, I bought a used phone it was perfect and in the week the signal stopped working, the person who sold me the cell phone reported it, it is the only way to block me.

AT&T sim locked Moto X

Need help!!
My friend gave me an AT&T SIM locked Moto X. I tried to buy an unlock code at internet and did not work. Tried another online service and they provide me the same unlock code.
I think it is hardlocked and I am not going to be able to unlock it!
Do you guys have any possible idea to unlock it? Or do I have a useless phone forerver?
Thx
I unlocked mine in unlockunit (they never gave me the 50% back for posting ther youtuve video tho...)
It's so sad to have a Moto X in my hands and not being able to use it.
I think it is really hard locked. I don't know if it is worse to buy another unlock code. Two companies failed with me trying to unlock it. At least they gave the money back.

You can try a few more unlock places but there does seem to be the odd AT&T Moto X that nobody has an unlock code for. Other people have reported the same problem. You don't get too many tries to input the unlock code, even if you run out the phone can still be used on AT&T, but then it can never be unlocked.

Really? Didn't know about this. I have never had any problem unlocking phones.
I'm going to send an email to AT&T.
Thanks for replying.

Try the app from Google Play - "Unlock your Moto X", I got unlocked from AT&T within like 20 minutes for the 10 euro or so (everybody else asking 15-25)

The app failed to charge me using paypal (dunno why), but i went to their site and all was dandy.
I have to say again tho, they say they give you 50% back if you make a youtuve video, which i did, and they never gave it back.

How did you enter the code? Have you put in the allien SIM or just typed in #073887*? And what happens after you enter it?
Does the phone work with AT&T SIM at all? If not - yes, it may be blocked by IMEI or something. In this case it is impossible to use it with any US carrier.
I put in the sim card of my provider, then it asked for the code, and it accepted the one provided by unlockunit.
I bought my Moto X contract free on the moto maker... i could have chosen Tmobile, but somehow chose ATT... There is no LTE here in Argentina, so it is the same, and i could have gotten an unlocked phone with unlockable bootloader... but i had to make just another mistake.
Unlock code from unlockunity didn't work.
It is definitely hardlocked!
I'm not gonna die, but this is still sad.

Are you taking about www.swiftunlocks.com or http://www.swiftunlock.com (without 's')?
On swiftunlock, I can't find a way to request an unlock code. On swiftunlocks, they charge $12.99.
I could give one last shot.
AT&T most likely won't unlock your phone because it's been subsidized. They now require you to wait until the 2 year contract is over which sucks.
I've just bought an unlockcode at swiftunlocks.

[Q] What is an UNLOCK Code ?

Hi,
I bought a second-hand LG P970h from someone.
I am a customer of carrier "X" (not real name).
I have inserted my sim card to the phone, but the phone did not recognize it. So I can't use it for calls, messages and etc.
I checked in the web and I understood that my carrier blocked the phone for use with its sim cards because the device was reported as stolen.
I tried to convince the carrier to open the device but I did not succeed.
I tried to insert to the phone a sim card from other carrier, and it's worked fine.
So... what can I do now ?
I want to stay in my carrier and to use the phone.
Is there any way to do that ?
I have read a little about UNLOCK Code... is that the solution ?
Thanks a lot.
Do not buy stolen phones! Your phone could be the next one.
I am sorry, but is not ethical.

The phone may very well have been lost or left somewhere by the original owner, or it may have outright been stolen. Either way, the original owner reported it as lost/stolen.
You have a lost/stolen phone in your possession. If your current carrier "called you out" on the issue, good for them! I'm glad someone actually tracks this stuff. Ideally the phone should be returned to the original owner, because he/she took a soaking on the cost of a replacement phone.
If you can find a carrier that doesn't care, then you'd better get a plan with them for that phone.
I'd also find a more ethical "someone" to buy used items from.
There's no bad on you at this point. You're not the first guy to get ripped off. But continuing onward with something that you know is probably stolen just isn't right.
It can be unlocked with technician
You would check phone thoroughly before buying..

operators in Brazil
use the phone lock code (sim card band)
That does not mean that it is stolen ...
to unlock the use of all bands sim card, needed a software that generates a code w / unlock permanent
some carriers do not release the software or request "note fiscal" ...
if enter the wrong code will often lock the phone permanently

[Q] Sim Unlock by flashing dev edition firmware?

I think they can't find the code for it... Now my question is if a flash a Dev edition firmware or any another firmware of moto x's which comes with a Sim-Free thingy.. Will i be able to sim unlock my phone? by flashing the sim free firmware?? i am totally a newbie in the sim things so please pardon me if this is a stupid question... Thanks in advance...

its already been 8 days bro..... Usually a codes takes 4,5 hours max to be delivered...
BUMP!!
Anyone have any idea?
Have you bothered to contact or reach out to the seller of the unlock code? If they haven't responded in 8 days with a code or any information at all, I'd contact my payment company or credit card provider, explain the situation, demand they reverse the charge, find another company that does unlock codes and try again.
As long as you're being proactive and doing something from your end, they should be doing something on theirs - if they're not then you don't do business with them, simple.
Install the Dev Edition firmware on a non-Dev Edition device isn't likely to work and could potentially brick the device given the bootloader situation (unlocked, locked, it doesn't really matter) - Dev Edition firmware really won't be a workable solution, that's why SIM or carrier unlock codes exist, basically.
8 days is a bit long in the tooth, definitely, I'd have waited 48 hours max regardless of how long they say it takes and if they hadn't responded with a code or a reason why I'd have already had the charges reversed.
I use one or two such services online and I've never had issues with them which is why I continue to do business with them, usually get a code (if one exists depending on the device, of course) within 12 hours, 16 at most.

The firmware is the same for developer/non-developer phones of the same model, and the SIM lock is independent of the ROM you are on.

Galaxy Note 8 N950F any Modding for DUAL SIM Support ?

Hi
I have the Normal 64 GB N950F Verison of the Note 8. Does anyone know if the DUOS Dual Sim Mode would work if you flash the DUOS Fimrware or maybe
it will work out of the Box if you have the DUOS Sim Adapter ???
Would be great to know that.

Nope that is not possible coz of firmware specifics and hardware mismatch. You would be bricking your $900 device by doing that

Sorry but your totally incorrect.
You can flash F firmware on an FD and vice versa. I did it lots of times on my dual sim note 7 and s8 plus as well as flashing FD firmware on my single sim s7 edge
To put it bluntly the dual sim and single sim firmware are the same thing and can be cross flashed without issue.
That said if you have a single sim device and think flashing dual sim firmware will give you dual sim capability you are very technically challenged lol.

They're not 'the same thing' or you wouldn't see any difference from flashing one or the other. However, you are right that you can use either one on either device (including N firmware on the F/FD devices and vice versa as they are all physically the same components).
If you are already rooted, the only thing you would need to do to swap to dual sim is buy the dual sim tray (I think they have some on ebay now), and replace your existing lib-sec-ril files under /system/lib and /system/lib64 with those from the dual sim model, as well as add the dsds RIL file if it is missing (my 950N didn't have it). The lib-sec-ril file seems to ignore your build.prop setting as mine is set to ss (single SIM) and swapping to the 950 FD RIL library automatically switched my phone to dual-SIM mode upon bootup.
Hey Guys
For now i am not rooted on my Note 8 just wanted to know if this would work. To bad no one has tryed before i searched also for some S8 Threads etc. The Problem is there is no SIM Tray from the DUOS
Version available to buy. At least i haven't found one yet. That was my intention to test this out i think that would help many people out there.
UPDATE:
Great thanks for the Tip i searched now in Ebay.com there are some Dual Sim Note 8 Sim slots available from china. I will order some and than i hope there is some more Custom Roms out and maybe some tutorial available

Won't be possible.
Even if you get the SIM tray and pop 2 SIMs into the phone, the board is different, the EFS partition is different and there is only one IMEI on the N950F whereas the DS model has 2 IMEIs.

Alot has changed, some good...some bad lol
Any news on it?
Someone mentioned he tested with dual sim tray, he changed the sim card to another slot, it's working.
Probably, the hardware is totally same,
I remember there is some dual-sim version, but same model SM-N950F in some country.

Probably, firmware will check the model and pop up the sim card management
it's not as easy as just popping in a dual tray and 2 sims, I've tried it, with sim in tray 2 it looks like connected to network but does not receive calls, you would need to find out how to either enable second imei if it is already there or apply one, and DON'T just use the same for both sim slots if you like your phone, not in Europe anyway

I can't that 100% that it WILL happen but it is definitely a big risk as it could look to the network providers that 2 different numbers are using same IMEI and then automatically get blocked, ALL EU mobile service providers share the information so even if you used sim cards from different providers you could see the imei blocked within a few days

Greece Cosmote might not be included in the partnership between the mobile service providers, there is a reason the dual sim phones have 2 imei numbers, I'm sure you can make it work but why run the risk and use same imei when you can buy an old phone for at tenner and use the imei from that

Number means IMEI,
I asked same question today, they said it's much easier to copy the number from sim 1 to sim 2, they probably can finish the job in 30 mins.
So far they can NOT assign a different number to sim 2 only, if you need different number for sim 2, they need connect to some box and some server to register the number first, could be 3 days.
The BIG issue is both the number of SIM 1 and SIM 2 will be changed, so you will lose the warranty.
And the second way needs more money, would be five times or more.

First of all: why you want to do that?
best way is to not steal one or buy one that is stolen. there's no need to change the imei other than that.
OK. I bought an used S10 in eBay. Ist works with all Sims of my friends. Telekom d1, Base, o2 and only doesn't Work with my Vodafone D2 which is my contract

So it sounds like the phone could be a Vodafone branded and IMEI was potentially blocked by the carrier? Did you call Vodafone and asked them to check IMEI?
I dont know.
My Sim is Vodafone. The Phone doesnt seem to bei Branded
Wondering why The seller immediately told me to Change IMEI.

Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore the discussion thereof is strictly prohibited on xda.
