Clock Mods - Remove Navbar or Battery etc. Mods - Google Pixel 5 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I don't have this phone but I thought I'd try a couple of clock options if someone is interested in trying them. Root required. Flash in magisk manager.
Most of these are SystemUI mods and might not be compatible with any other SystemUI Mods you may have installed.
Battery percentage on the left side of the battery icon, Mod, should be compatible with right clock provided it is flashed after, right clock.

Hi @Tulsadiver, CC works perfectly on the Pixel 5 - many thanks!
Any plans of making the Colour Accents Mod for the P5?

Anyone tried the navbar gone?

You're a star - many thanks! I am mainly interested in the yellow and black theming. So just a bog standard yellow or the one you had on your neon colour pack would be great please.
Also - in case the flashing fails and I have issues, how do I revert to my old/standard SystemUI apk?

It's a module so you uninstall it in Magisk manager.
It looks like you have more colors on Pixel 5 but this will only change the ones that were on the other Pixel phones.

Yes, works great, just like overscan did. I activated 3 Button nav before I flashed it, because I though it might still conflict with gestures. Intalled Fluid Navigation Gestures beforehand and set it up.
Works like a charm and finally the ugly chin is gone

Thanks for confirming! For now, I have hidden it using Magisk Props but I didn't know about FNG before. Installed it and it works really nice

I am not going to root my Pixel 5 but i'd love to get rid of the nav bar, it serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever.

Hi @Tulsadiver, I wonder if it is possible to make a similar mod to shrink the status bar's height by half ?

No. You don't gain anything. The action bar stays in the same place and you end up cutting your icons in half.

No. Some are up, most in the middle. The status bar is smaller than you think. It looks larger due to the space between the status bar and the action bar. It is colored the same as the status bar.

Power Notification Widgets incl. 1% Battery & Auto Brightness Tweak

Power Notification Widgets
After posting that mod since a while in Mike`s Revolution ROM thread and including it in my Theme, I trust it is now easier managing the nice mod in this thread after it now grew to a little family with new batteries and Auto Brightness patch alternatives.
The power widgets offer you quick toggles directly from your notification bar. You can select up to 6 controls via a text file in system/customize and enable only the power widget or together with recent apps. Default is only power widgets.
Standalone Power Widget`s are now available in 4 variants. With a new alternative Revolution Circle battery and with or without auto brightness patch included (flashing separately would not work, since both "kill" each other). That mod offers now everything you need incl. 1% battery, auto brightness (if you want), 2 battery types and transparent notification background.
Credits
for Auto Brightness patch: Leedroid & Tantin
for original Power Widget: JsChiSmurf & Cyanogen Team
for 1% Battery: The great UOT Kitchen Team
for original transparency patch: Xeudoxus
Theme contents:
• Power Widgets
• Transparency patch
• Optional - Auto Brightness tweak (reduces screen brightness under low or standard light conditions in Auto mode in order to save battery life)
• 1% Battery mod
• Cyanogen settings app to control behaviour like LED color, sound toggle eg.
1. What you need before the flash
2.2.1 Deodexed ROM (1.72), Root, S-Off, Clockwork Mod and ROM Manager
Install:
* IMPORTANT - backup your system with Rom Manager
* Copy PowerNotification2.2.1.zip to SD Card - IMPORTANT This mod is NOT for Stock ROM Users, it NEEDS a deodexed ROM
* Open Rom Manager and install from SD Card (or install from recovery)
* Choose PowerNotification2.2.1.zip, then your DHD boots in Recovery and installs the mod
Adjusting Power Widget:
These toggles are available (bold are default after flash)
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
toggleWimax
Just exchange the toggles you need against the default in the widget.txt file in system/customize
Example:
You don`t want toggle Brightness and add toggleMobileData instead:
toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleGPS|toggleBrightness|toggleSync|toggleSound
just replace the above bold against this:
toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleGPS|toggleMobileData|toggleSync|toggleSound
Enabling states:
You can control the mod in notification_config.txt in system/customize by activating only PowerWidget, only recent apps or both.
enablePowerControl : For Power Widget only
enableRecentApps : recent apps only
enablePowerControl|enableRecentApps: For both
Update 15.02. - ALL Power Widgets are now UOT kitchen & CWM 3.x compatible

Hi he_stheone64,
Are any of these new file UOT Kitchen compatible in order to make some tweaks ?
Or should they perform errors like previous file ?
These one`s are not UOT compatible, but you can just insert pngs from the original mod in drawable-hdpi and drawable-land-hdpi and then you can upload and cook in UOT. Then you need to reinsert all pngs from my mod (which you should save before) back except the stat_sys_battery pngs (which will be new after you cooked them).

As far as I understand, there's some problem with .9 png's and some other with xml files (I've got a very long error log).
liamstears told me it could be fixed but he_stheone64 is perhaps not able to fix it himself...
Sure it can be fixed, but as always that takes time. I`m doing all mods first for my phone and my taste and then I share it here or in my home forum. If someone likes it, great. If not - just don`t install it, but please don`t expect that I can fulfill every individual request. I get 1000 PM`s a month with questions and requests, I would need a 2nd life to follow up on all these. So even if something CAN be done, it does not mean I HAVE to do it.
Please respect that all guys who post themes, mods or ROM`s here at XDA also have a private and business life.
For better understanding of the issue - it ain`t xml`s, that break the UOT compatibility, there are only a few .9.png that need to be patched in Eclipse. Since I do plenty of themes and mods, I patch all .9.png, where it is necessary, in some cases you do not need to patch them, since they only come in 1 size or they have 100% transparency and in that case the mod works without patching these. All my fellow colleagues have basically the same habit, if they mod a lot - they take shortcuts, where it is appropriate.
In any case I very much doubt, that liamsteers really believes I`m not ABLE to fix it, since .9.pngs are really basic work for beginners
No problem he_stheone64, I do respect each guy who makes MOD... and each guy who doesn't
As I don't know many thing about all this, I'm just guessing each time what's going on when I've an error.
And in order not to bother you with my peronnal mod, this is why to cook my own... from your's
liamstears didin't say you were not able to fix it, but as I don't know how to fix and how it could be difficult, I was just thinking it was something you couldn't do. Because it seems to be unsual to have such errors and would prevent you to have such noobs questions.
That's all. Thank you anyway for your themes and work
You will get these errors with 99% of all themed framework`s, just look in the apktool thread... as mentioned we do patch everything that is necessary, but when it`s not, why should we. UOT is a relatively new tool and in the past all we cared is, that the mod or theme works as designed. It was never an issue, so as mentioned patching in Eclipse is something I`ve done a few thousand times especially for countless Milestone themes and mods, but since that is a long extra step, we all (look in other themes) avoid it, where not necessary. For status bar pngs it is not, since these are present only once, for text input fields or buttons patching is mandatory, since otherwise they look very funny once stretched in different sizes.
Anyway I will fix the .9.png for UOT, once is time. For full themes that would be way too much extra work and they should work anyway as designed. *Kidding mode on* Or do people go to the Louvre and complain, that they are not allowed to alter Mona Lisa
Anyway - here is the pure and 100% stock power widget, which is also UOT compatible
5. Notification Power Widget stock Look, white background, no 1% battery - but UOT kitchen compatible

you'll have to excuse my ignorance on TWRP themes...I thought they were just images & fonts, I didn't know they were version specific.
\TWRP\theme\ui.zip\images\
\TWRP\theme\ui.zip\fonts\
actually some of these themes are outdated...the Material themes are far superior

My guess is that they're all outdated. Unless they've been maintained, they'll be missing key features from the newest version, some of which can completely lock up the recovery and in some cases, even prevent it from booting. I'd recommend removing them from the app altogether.
Also, is there a mod for just the combined LTE/Spark data icon in the app, or is that a Bad Boyz exclusive ?
O.M.J said:
I added the M9 wallpapers...but after flashing, they're not showing up in preview, but if u select wallpapers 1-15, you will see the new wallpaper....even after wiping caches, they didn't show...maybe need clean flash

Ooh yikes, there's a lot of other mods you did with SystemUI, lol.
My preference would be w/Location icon removed, data icon hidden on WiFi, Percent battery (I think the stock BB SystemUI), so I think I'll just grab it from there if I ever decide to switch (I don't think that's likely).
With the Xposed mods slowly being updated for Lollipop I was thinking that's one of the few mods not available, since Sprint has their "special" data icons for Spark. But I think I'm good with what I have. Thanks for being willing to fill my request anyway!

yeah, what you're describing is the same default systemui we use in our ROM and is also the 1st option listed in SystemUI in Mod Pack
Any input on the bootani sounds sticking after choosing a silent bootani?
So I loaded the center clock and then the remove am/pm mod and now whenever I hit the recent apps button I get FC on systemui.
Thoughts?

ADB Magisk Module Mod Installer

This is in place until TWRP is ready. You need root and of course you need to be attached to your PC. On first installation of systemui base, a pop-up asking to give ADB shell root permission will show. Please do so.
The purpose of this installer is to generate for you a custom module that you can flash in Magisk Manager. It will have all the mods that you have selected from the installer menu.
Custom clocks (date, etc) and internet speed indicators do not change colors due to light-dark background colors like the statusbar icons do.
The developer of Active edge gave me permission to use his base so that people would not have to make a choice between his and my mods. All credit for this goes to him. You must delete the active edge sense module and use one of my active edge modules. If it doesn't say active edge then it isn't active edge sense compatible. If there is an issue with edge sense after flashing, do not contact edge sense op with issues. He does not troubleshoot modified versions of his mod (and neither do I).
I'm also including my Pixel Launcher mod. Also a ADB Installer. You can change app drawer background-text color (separately for light mode and dark mode), remove weather from Launcher. Change the number of hot seat icons on home page (and size) as well as change the number of columns in the app drawer.
ADB Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk Manager flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop. Flash that to install your selection of mods.
Root required
Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Shell Root Permissions. If missed on first opportunity, turn on in magisk manager, superuser)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.

Statusbar Notification mod is baked into these mods (not including the font mods).
Invisible Power Button sits on the statusbar. There's one for the far right side, and one for far left side. Long press to bring up the power menu, tap to lock the screen.
Most of these are SystemUI mods and might not be compatible with any other SystemUI Mods you may have installed.
Battery percentage on the left side of the battery icon, Mod, should be compatible with right clock provided it is flashed after, right clock.
Special shout-out to @DaOldMan and @Grouxho whom made this possible!

Me too. How can you have swapped navigation on one screen and stock on another? Something is stuck in cache somewhere. You could try unrooting then rooting again.
In magisk manager click uninstall. Then boot to bootloader and flash your magisk_patched.img again.
Edit: I just uploaded new mods for January update. You could try one of those.

Center clock mod does not affect navigation bar at all unless you flash the swap one. Center clock swap should center the clock and swap back for recent button. It only for 2 button and 3 button methods, not gesure.

Yes. Depends on if you mean native gestures or the active edge mod gestures. If you want native gestures, just flash center clock. If you are wanting the active edge mod (see here:. https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-4-xl/themes/app-edge-sense-plus-customize-active-t3996257), use center clock active edge then download the active edge app from playstore and you are set. If you want native gestures and flash center clock edge, your native gestures will not work.
Thanks for the center clock, I've been wanting this for a while.
However, removing the battery icon doesn't seem to work for me. Any idea?

You can't mix and match. If you want to customize your phone, use the ADB mod installer.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3a/themes/adb-mod-installer-t3930381
Edit: you can try this. Unzip the center clock mod. Go to the vrtheme folder. Go to the system/product/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk/res/layout folder and pull out the status_bar.xml file and replace the one in the battery gone mod. Try flashing that.

So what is this? This is a Magisk module that adds the following features to any Pixel 3, 4 or 5 device running on Android 11:
Forces Google Sans font system wide
63Accent colors
12Icon shapes
22Fonts
Wallpapers Breel 2019; 2020 & 2020a
9 different Dark Styles
Adds 2 button mode navigation (it was removed on Android 11 but I think some users like that navigation mode, so I add it)
Background Blur options
Blur Intensity options
Adaptive sound options
Navigation bar options (hide pill, reduce keyboard bottom space size, hide assist handles)
SystemUI Tuner options
Rounded corner options
QS Rows x Columns options
QS Footer Drag Handle options (Default, Accent based, Hidden)
Option to show more icon notifications on staus bar
Forces Basic Attestation thus making ctsProfile true by just enabling Magisk Hide
Rom Control app (to setup all options available that you cannot using just Styles & Wallpapers)
Everything can be controlled using Styles & Wallpapers and also Rom Control app.
This MOD will probably work on any AOSP, or close to it, ROMs.
Get it here: Android_11_Addon_Features_for_Pixel_V8.zip
Just a note, this module already includes a SafetyNet fix, so if you're using another module for SafetyNet, please remove it since I don't know if that couldn't cause issues.
For all users already running Android 12 please go to THIS THREAD.

Android_11_Addon_Features_For_Pixel_V13.zip -> "Harmless" module that works on any Pixel device running on STOCK ROM, much like the "universal mod" shared above, but with a Rom Control app version that has more options. The "exclusive features" options won't do anything if the SystemUI module, shared next, isn't installed. If your going to try these exclusive features module, install this one and not the one shared above. The SaftetyNet is also included on this module, so once again, don't try to use any other SafetyNet module since it could break things.
Android_11_SystemUI_redfin_workaround_for_Addon_Features_V10.zip -> This is "THE" module! This module adds all xml and smali changes into SystemUI. Without this module the "exclusive features" won't work. Also, this module could be responsible for breaking boot if it fails to work at your end. I've ran several tests on my device (a Pixel 4a) and didn't face any issues but, since this module replaces stock SystemUI for a modded SystemUI, you could run into problems if some other module tries to do the same or it's simply incompatible with it. This module was updated to match latest Android 11 October 2021 build.
Android_11_SystemUI_redfin_workaround_for_Addon_Features_V9.zip -> Use this version ONLY if you're still running any Android 11 build between June and September 2021!
Notes regarding the "exclusive version" for Pixel devices:
DO NOT, I'll repeat, DO NOT flash "SystemUI module" zip on any other ROM besides stock. It won't work! If you want those extra features on your current ROM you will have to port them yourself. I explain how to later on this post.
Make sure that you're able to run adb shell as root before rebooting your device.
If something goes wrong after flashing "SystemUI module", like if your device doesn't boot or something stupid, connect your phone to your PC during boot and run this:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
Code:
rm -rf /data/adb/modules/Modded_SystemUI && reboot
If you forgot to enable the ability to run adb shell as root, and if your device is on a "non-boot" state, the only way you can fix that is to remove all Magisk modules you have installed. That can be achieved by running the following commands during boot:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
magisk --remove-modules

If none of the above methods work to get your device booting, then you have to boot into safe mode. By doing so, Magisk will disable all modules for you (it doesn't uninstall them, just disables them). To force a boot into safe mode all you need to do is to keep pressing volume down button during boot animation. After the system boots into safe mode you can reboot your device to boot up normally (since all modules will be disabled). If you get stuck during boot animation again, just force another reboot (I've had to do that during my tests).
The "SystemUI module" requires that your device is already updated to March build!
When a new OTA update comes please don't flash the "SystemUI module" until I say it's ok to do so. I mean, me or any other member who may have tested it. Why? Because Google may change things on stock SystemUI between builds. When that happens, I have to recreate the module again to adapt those changes. For instance, March build was not compatible with the module that was built on top of February build SystemUI. Rest assured that I'll always test the module with new builds and update as necessary.
In case your device gets caught in a bootloop, please provide me a logcat so I may try and look if anything can be done about it. To do so, during boot connect your device to your PC and grab a logcat with this adb command:
Code:
adb logcat > log.txt
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Magisk Root | Magisk Manager
Suggestion:
Uninstall all other modules you may have installed IF you're going for the "exclusive features". They could be incompatible with the "SystemUI module" thus making the device get caught in a bootloop. You may install them afterwards, one by one, just to make sure everything is ok.
If you're up to it, instead of disabling/removing modules, just flash latest stock build through fastboot. If you want to retain your data, remove the "-w" flag from the update command on flash-all script.
How to install? (If you're running a Pixel 5, just install the module...you don't need all these next steps)
Uninstall Device Personalization Services updates
Clear Google Play Store app data and cache
Flash the Magisk Module(s)
Reboot device
Open Google Play Store and update Device Personalization services (or any other Pixel exclusive app you see it needs to update).
Profit!

How's these "exclusive features" even possible?
All (well, not all but almost...) features that you see on Pixel Devices "SystemUI module" were reverse engineered from Evolution X ROM source code. The source code is available on the link bellow shown on the credits. This means that I've been practicing some hard core "old school" Android smali edition in order to get this working. So, yes, I have some credits about this but, if it weren't for the original developers and it's public source code, none of this would be possible. Thank them for this!
Smali, and xml, edition wasn't enough to get this working. After decompiling, changing/adapt the code and recompiling everything again, I had to find a way to make it bootable without messing with the original apk signature. And here is where VR Theme logic came in handy. So thanks for the original dev who brought us this feature.
As for ROM Control app....this was/is a project created by daxgirl and wubydax back in 2015! So yeah, I'm not bringing anything new here, I just followed their instructions in order to get the features working after editing smali/xml with the source code taken from Evolution X. The original app source code is also available on the link shared on the credits.
I've just combined all of the above into a Magisk Module and shared here so that we can get the best of both worlds....a stock ROM with custom features included.

Ok, and you've installed both modules with Magisk, correct? When you open Rom Control App and you choose your desired QS Tile nothing happens? Like you don't even see the icons disappearing on status bar and appearing again?

Try to set the default. On Styles & Wallpapers set the default style as well. Afterwards try to change it again.
You could try as well to restart SystemUI to see if it applies the changes.
You can, as well, open terminal and run:
Code:
cmd overlay list | grep qstile
See if the checkbox is enabled on the qstile style you've chosen.
By the way, do you have any other modules installed?
Is that the only feature that isn't working?

I'll try that right now. No it was a fresh install, and only installed those. So far that's the only thing I've tried
I have v8 installed and everything I've tested in rom control works. I have not tested v9. I will also like to say that there are some differences between the Pixel 5 SystemUIGoogle.apk and the other pixel devices. Pixel 3-4 have different lib files in them. However the res folder and smali folder are identical. I have not checked how your mod flashes (VR vs replacing entire apk), but if VR is used then there should be no issues on the Pixel 5. I was working on adding SystemUI mods to my mod, but this mod makes most of them useless, lol. And I don't like my mod to clash with this one as I'm using it as well. So I might either abandon the ideas in my end or if you allow, incorporate your changes to SystemUI to my mod so that users can use both of them.

I've used VR Theme on SystemUI mod. Didn't touch any libs. The libs I've added are on both V8 and V9 Addon Features modules zip and they are only for SafetyNet fix.
I don't mind at all if you can merge your ideas into the module or create a new and better one. In fact, and as you may have noticed, I've shared everything I've changed on GitHub. The link is on the OP. If you know your way around smali you won't get any trouble on making it work.
Keep me posted. I've shared this exact same thread on all Pixel 3 and 4 models sub forum threads. If the changes you're thinking on adding works we could share everything for every Pixels.
Cheers!

Thanks man, I'll look into incorporating my edits into your mod. My edits mostly edit colors to give users control of icon, text, and background colors. I'll keep you posted.

The overlay is there and it's indeed activated. Are you absolutely sure you've got SystemUI module installed? Like, for instance, can you change the battery icon?
