Cant Turned on WIFI/BT, Already Flashed for BT still not working - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hi , its been a year since i bought xiaomi mi 9-global rom(128GB) and all work properly.
if im not mistaken the first rom when i bought is MIUI 10 , then the last time i update if im not mistaken is around september in MIUI 12.02 for the latest security patch.
Suddenly problem occurs recently maybe around a week. where my Wifi & Bluetooth disconnected by the system and cant be turned on but it fixed it self as i restart and now its never fixed.
I already some of fixed below :
- Restart devices
- Wipe all data
- Factory reset
- Try to flash the ROM from official one MIUI 12.02
- Following some tutorials that reset bluetooth and wifi settings
- Try downgrading MIUI version to 11
but still didnt work the Wifi & Bluetooth setting always crash & cant be turned on , try CIE or CIU test found out that the proximity sensor also didn't work.
I also tried some tutorials that do in EDL mode to install persist mode but its not working due to the Authentication it says" i dont have the permission"
Is there anyway i can fixed the Bluetooth & Wifi in this device?? The Mobile Data is still working and other features still working except Proximity Sensor, WIFI, Bluetooth.
Is the only way is to let the xiaomi store fixed it?? this is my only phone so i need it alot and the office store probably going to take long since pandemic.
Please help me Xiaomi Pro's out there :crying:
Edit :
- my xiaomi account already match with the phone the proof is i can unlocked OEM using the xiaomi. But it seems i still dont have permissions to flash EDL.

I think it's safe as miui could be.
But be shure to follow step by step and take right rom version. If it's working you can flash original miui or custom roms.

I think, if you have done a really clean flash with formating data, that it's a hardware problem.

yes, i did i already follow the instructions & having no error at all for the ROM and other stuff except the WiFi & Bluetooth.
But for me its just really weird, my phone looks still great from outside no bend, dent, or crack it never fall as well.
The problem starts occurring by itself like the system is forcing the Bluetooth & WiFi to off then at some point the WiFi is connected but not transferring any data after restart everything fixed then its not working at all, which when i tried to turn it on it will freeze or the system not responding or off by itself.
btw appreciate your answer, i'm still waiting for other solution if possible :crying:

In my personal opinion there're 2 possibilities
Damaged hardware
Or
Modem Partition wrong or damaged
MODEM or RADIO - the phone's radio
Also called baseband, it is responsible for signals and on older devices may control wifi, bluetooth, and GPS (on most newer devices, these are handled by the kernel and ROM). Upgrades are country dependent and may improve or diminish battery performance, network signal strength, and roaming capability. It is also sometimes required to have a minimum Baseband version to use a ROM so that the RIL will play nice with the Baseband.
Modem firmware is a mini-OS for the cellular radio chip which has its own processor. Firmware is a general term, firmware exists for a lot of things on phone. The wireless chip for WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth often has a firmware as can the GPU core among other things. These firmware files are usually located inside the SYSTEM or VENDOR partition. The modem firmware is special because it has its own separate Baseband Processor (BP) so the firmware is left out of the system image in its own partition.
Modem is not an Android-specific partition. It is tied to the hardware of the phone, but the kernel has a code allowing Android to interact with the hardware. But the baseband processor (BP) - which runs modem and is responsible for all communication through mobile networks e.g. call, SMS and internet - is totally isolated from Application Processor (the one we call CPU) and is not governed by Android kernel; it runs an independent RTOS.
May it helps you for getting a solution....

MIUI WiFi problem in my Milestone

I have problem on my Milestone with MIUI WiFi.
Every other ROM works just fine (connects immediately thorough WiFi with the internet). Unfortunately every version of MIUI don't
I tried 1.14, 1.21 v2, 1.21v2, even 1.26 chinese. All those versions doesn't want to connect via WiFi.
I've done 3x wipe before and after instaling MIUI.
I've installed MIUI from several ROMS, official + vulnerable, 2.2.1. GOT, 2.1
and always with the same result. WiFi won't connect.
There's short thread about it on xda involving different mobile and using clockworkmod recovery + rom manager, but it's not confirmed and it used to not work on Milestone. Could cause damage, so i droped tryin in that way.
Anyone got any idea why WiFi doesn't want to work in MIUI on my Milestone?
Is there any app tool to discover the cause of lack WiFi connection? Maybe i can run it on my MIUI and show to some dev who will now what certain logs mean ?

Sad you never got an answer to this one - right now I have the very same problem. Happened after the last Miui update.
I have nothing but hope it will get better with the next one.
I have the same problem. On newest version of MIUI (1.5.13), and the 1.5.6 was the same. On 1.4.29 everything was fine. Now wifi is connecting, getting IP, and nothing happens (disconecting)
help pls, anyone can find the fix? where to post this problem ? I dont know chinese
Is your router N? If so, try to change it to work as G only. This is the only way I can make CM7 connect properly with my router, unfortunately, perhaps this helps you guys.
my router is Linksys WRT54GC, wpa (not wpa2) personal, tkip, b/g (not n)
so I dont know if "g only" will help, normally on every rom there is no problem, but from MIUI 1.5.6 problems started. Strange that this happens not to everybody, but to some of us only.
I can confirm that the bug is MIUI related cause I don't have it in CM7 on my HD2.
Sadly I couldn't find any solution yet.
In my case it was caused by luca/froyomod's dsi fix update.zip which I applied on miui, whole radio (wifi + data) wasnt working properly after that. Now I do it manually, or using dsi fix for miui made by eyebee in his thread, and great rom by the way. It feels much snappier, and better multitasking, lots better than pure Miui. Feeyo's, luca's, zeppelinrox's tweaks and other applied by eyebee do the great job on this rom. Great alternative for cm7. Of course kabaldan does also great job. Ok, EOT

I'm expecting exactly the same problem at the moment. Have You solved this issue? I think it is MIUI connected becouse I am on SGS with the same issue.
Same for me on 1.7.29 version.
This version of MIUI caused me alot of trubble.
First i bricked the phone (like an noobie formated system and bootloader) okay some how i got it fixed. Then I installed 1 version older 1.9.30 which caused my phone keept restarting due wifi power on (after restoration with included app) now my phone keeps restarting again (after update) and im really not in mood atm for any thing =/ cant get my apps backedup since phone keeps restarting.
is there any way to disable wifi without booting into android?

S3 i9305 - problematic wifi.

Hello guys,
I just want to share this problem with my S3 LTE i9305, this unit came from singapore (singtel), and im now using it in Cebu, Philippines. However i am having too much trouble with its wifi always getting Authentication errors (when i was still in stock firmware).
I should say i can rule out that my wifi hardware is defective, because I was using the wifi yesterday whole night in our house. downloading stuffs from play store, browsing, facebook and etc.
This is what i already did:
1. downloaded a Hongkong firmware (official samsung stock firmware) flashed with odin with no problem. hoping that the wifi issue is just a corrupt base firmware.
- still wifi is problmatic
2. Im on Cyanogenmod 10.1 4.2.2 Jellybean
- all functions are okay except for the wifi
WIFI SETUP:
keep wi-fi on during sleep: always
wi-fi frequency band: auto
wi-fi region code: usa
wifi optimiation: unchecked
It can seem to detect new wifi with strong signals but whenever you connect to it the signal 'literally' drops to one bar, and stop doing the connection.
the problem is intermittent, meaning:
sometimes it works, sometimes its not - and there is no definite time when it works and when not.
here are the details of my current device:
Baseband version: I9305ZHBMI2
Kernel Version: 3.0.64-CM-g9c2e2b; [email protected] #1; mon sep 23 15:03:19 pdt
Cyanogenmod version: 10.1.3-i9305

hello! sorry about early bumping.
with wiping phone flash stock rom <<-- how do i do this? and not corrupting any vital stuff inside my phone. I heard that EFS is a very important.
update:
if you're talking about these:
1.wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache
3. wipe dalvic cache
i did those stuff 10x already...
PROBLEM is INTERMITTENT: sometime it will connect just fine, sometimes not. << how am I going to work around this problem?
is there any way to low level diagnose the wifi system?
could it just be the hardware? - if hardware then there shouldn't be times that it can connect fine
could it be the software? - where to start?
How i wish someone can help me fix all these intermittent problems I am encountering with the wifi.
EFS etc its all in the Faqs and Guides .

Hi, i have been reading those giudes, and i havent encountered any special method of wiping as what you say... I have used odin to flash like 5x already, got into cwm wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache...
I already have a backup of my efs in .img format, using terminal.
Can you walk me through?
Wipe phone flash stock rom and test .
I believe flashing via odin using stock samsung rom will wipe the flash. Is that correct? Or do you mean to say format the flash chip first before flashing with odin?... Im not quite sure how to do that.
Right now im using my celfone posting this message. Its just that this fone doesnt connect to other access points where the rest of wifi devices connects fine.
if you are referring to this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911726
i have done this many times already.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk
I have tried alot of different ROMS already and the problem persists.
Could this be hardware related?
are there people whos got similar issue?
It can connect to wifi right away if you're 2 meters line of sight of the router/access point.

Yes it could be.My phone had intermittent wfi and data.Turns out it was an "RF loopback timeout" problem.Needed fixing at service centre.HTH.

Mobile Network /Cell standby drain with every rom

Im writing this because my battery life got really bad, and please don't start saying it's a ROM, Google or some apps I've installed issue, because I got this problem with basically every rom, starting from stable, dev MIUI ti LOS15.1.
As you can see from the pictures I get "Mobile network standby drain" in every rom, (In MIUI is called Cell standby)
So i thought It was a firmware issue and I changed, reflashed It and formatted a lot or times but no luck.
So at this point I thought that was an Android way to tell me my battery is diying, but I don't really understand, I also got an android wearable device but this problem persisted even before I bought it.
I've also attached a bugreport
2h of screen are also good for what I got usually, other days I can reach the end of the day 20% with 1h and 30 of screen.
Seems like I solved in LOS15.1 by flashing the latest firmware from the latest dev package from xiaomi, replacing the files on the firmware flashable zip which some guy posted, but not updated it.

So, did it help? Please be specific what exactly did you do.
Set the principal SIM(The SIM that you use mobile data) to 4G Network mode and the secondary SIM to GSM or 2G mode.

Xiaomi Mi 8 loses WiFi

Hi xda, I don't even know if this is the correct section.
I'm experiencing a problem with my Mi 8 in these days I've never had, my phone sometimes disconnects from WiFi and then he has difficulty reconnecting. The WiFi signal keeps staying on "obtaining IP address" and repeats again, so I have to switch to mobile data until my WiFi comes back. I'm on MIUI Global 11.0.3 Stable (QEAMIXM).
I tried to:
- restart the phone;
- reset the network settings;
- restarting the router-modem;
But the problem still remains.
I read that it may be that the modem router does not support the dynamic IP or MAC address of the new version of Android, but I'm not an expert.
If someone is facing the same problem or knows how to solve it I really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance
I've been having the same problem.
Randomly disconnecting from Wifi and my network service.
Since the auto-update push to the latest version the problem has gotten worse. It occurs even more frequently and often doesn't connect to any network services.
I've tried removing the Sim cards, changing slots, only having in one at a time.

If you have always been on stock
Change the setting so that the phone uses its actual Mac address and not randomized
If you have used many different roms,
You may need to flash the fastboot version of the latest stable rom ( for your device : Global or Chinese) it restore your persist partition, and all other partitions.
resetting will not fix this issue and neither will flashing a recovery rom. it has to be a fastboot rom.
Do not flash it unless your device is linked to your own personal Mi Cloud account, and the built in flashall batch command completely wipe your device. be sure to un select relock bootloader if using Mi-Flash.
Never flash any persist images that you may find on XDA threads.
Some of those posts include links to personal recovery persist backups . Those backed up images are hardware linked to individual devices, and flashing one of those files will cause permanent issues..

I am not currently using a Miui rom, because I wanted to test that my battery is truly going bad ( It is) So I will have to give you the approximate location. If I am remembering correctly it's in network settings > advanced options > privacy
If you dont see it, download the app called Hidden Settings for MIUI and you should be able to change it to use the actual Mac address.

Please look at this community where I have been posting doing some debugs on what were happening with Xiaomi Mi8 with Android 10.
https://community.cisco.com/t5/wire...onnecting-android-10-to-cisco-me/td-p/4009289
It looks like Xiaomi has deprecated WPA2 in some cases, but not in others. In my case, using Cisco APs I cannot connect until I configure native WPA3 (not even transition mode).
Same seems to happen to Nokia devices.
Weird behavior when you see you can connect to other APs using WPA2, but after doing some debugs with ADB I realized the phone wasn't sending association to AP, so it is not AP vendor fault.
And the thing I hate the most, is trying to open a TAC case with Xiaomi. They do not attend any expert issue but only low-level issues the type of factory-reset your phone and try again. I starting to hate this kind of support. They don't care about their products nor the users.

And the thing I hate the most, is trying to open a TAC case with Xiaomi. They do not attend any expert issue but only low-level issues the type of factory-reset your phone and try again. I starting to hate this kind of support. They don't care about their products nor the users.

It's not only about Xiaomi, but all the other brands. It's always impossible to reach to a person with technical knowledge, no matter what device or what tech support you contact with.
I actually don't expect any bug fixes from Xiaomi, since they didn't even care about Widevine L1 certificate while Pocophone F1 users received it.

XZ3 wifi problems

I'm just having a lot of problems withmy xperia xZ3 (H9394). In Monday, I updated google services and after that, the phone didn't connect to wifi or mobile data. I make a factory reset but it didn't work. I assumed the problem came from that update and everything will be fixed if I downgraded firmware. I tried first with sony emma flashtool, but I needed the bootload of my device to be unlocked. I unlocked it (yes, I screwed it) but emma said "no available services matched", so I tried it with newflasher and downgraded firmware, but it stayed in bootloop. So, I return to original firmware (52.1.A.3.92-R4C). It boot normally, but I have the same issues with wifi and mobile data, sometimes it works, but connects and disconnects constantly.
Someone can say me what can I do? I know that I can't relock bootloader.
@MartinX3 I know that you are a master, colud you help me?
Thanks! <3
I would look if that problem is the same on a custom ROM. (But flash on both slots and boot the latest stock first until you reach the desktop)
Or if it only happens with a specific WiFi, maybe the router need updates or a fix.

Thanks for reply.
What did you mean with flash both slots?
I have tried it with rom H9493_Customized CN_52.1.A.3.92-R14C, wifi and mobile data works. The problem now are the google services. I think it's a firmware problem...

Hello. I flashed again with 52.1.A.3.92-R4C custom Taiwan downloaded from xperifirm and it work for a time. First, I didn't have any issue with wifi and had 4G signal, but after hours, the problems came again and lost mobile and wifi signals. At that moment, I couldn't even activate wifi, when I turned it on it turned off immediately. For some reason, I activated airplane mode and turn on wifi and it worked, but when I turn off airplane mode, lost wifi signal. It's very strange. I think it's some problem with mobile data or something.
I will flash A/B slots. For that, I need the GSI and ASOP (Android 10.0 – Kernel 4.14 – Tama) img and I must do it with platform-tool, right? I don't need a firmware in tft?
Thanks.

For the custom ROMs you need to have the latest firmware on both slots and booted once until you reach your apps.
Then just follow the instructions of the XDA threads and don't forget a fullwipe.

Hello again. I downloaded Android 10 GSI from https://developer.android.com/topic/generic-system-image/releases and AOSP 10 for XZ3 from https://developer.sony.com/file/download/software-binaries-for-aosp-android-10-0-kernel-4-14-tama/. I used the latest platform tools. I flashed oem_a, oem_b, system_a and system_b. After that, I did a wipe with fastboot -w command and finally reboot my device.
I checked that everything worked fine. Wifi and both sims worked fine.
After that I flashed the firmware H9493_Customized TW_52.1.A.3.92-R4C with newflasher and wiped it again. Did I do everything correctly?
Thanks.
If anyone wonders, no. It didn't work. I tried with custom roms and it was the same
I tried everything. I tried installing LineageOs, pixelsperience, Sony AOSP 10, 11, gsi 10, 11, and stock roms and nothing. Sims are detected some time, but stop after a while. i put an sd card instead of a sim card and it was not detected. I assume it is a hardware problem.
Well, thanks for helping
I'm having this exact same problem on my XZ3, thought I was going crazy but makes me think it's maybe not hardware related to find someone else with the problem...
