How to find the Wifi MAC Address - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

I will need to determine the MAC address to submit to get connected to specific wifi network for authorization. I don't exactly see a way of finding it as it appears to be randomized. Anyone have this issue?
NVM. figure out the issue. The phone's wifi connection by default is using randomized MAC address and not using the device address. If I ever get back to the office, the office connection will have to have that feature turn off.

[Q] Wi-Fi problem

I have a problem with my wifi namely SGS does not want to connect to any unsecured network. It only says "obtain an IP address from the network." My Froyo version 2.2. I would be grateful if someone knew the solution to this problem without the need to restore factory settings.
I have come across a better solution in another post but couldn't find it so for the time being...
go to /data/misc/dhcp remove all files and reboot
see if it works
did not help
Have you tried to force an IP address?
Go to wifi settings > advance and manually assign an IP address

so I tried. I would add that the android 2.1 everything was fine.
try lowering you're wifi password. From Wpa2 to wpa or web(and disable mac adres filter) in you're router. That did the trick 4 me. Its not a nice solution but hey it works
That's how it works, but what about the free hotspots? Next is to get the IP address of the Web

Cannot connect to wifi router

hello guys.
My HD7 cannot connect to wifi router. After putting in the password, it keeps trying to connect and after one min throws an error that sorry couldnot connect to the wifi connection. I am using a simple wifi router and not any N router
Authentication type is WPEA2
Thanks in advance
I found this article ( i am not allowed to post link) which says something about a bug in HD7 and venue pro which doesnot allow them to connect to wifi. Any workaround guys
Wifi problem...
Hi,
What is your network SSID name?
I had the wifi problem with my HD7 while my network SSID name had mixed capital and lowercase characters like "GedikNet"
Try to change your network SSID name to all capital or all lowercase characters. (like "gediknet").
Good luck.
Bye.
ssid is SHARAD. still unable to connect
can't have hidden ssid
Hi, if your network is hidden, unhide it. The darn thing cannot connect to a hidden network. I know it is extreamly annoying but that is what Bill-ware gave us.
Hopefully, they will fix it in the update.
Initial connection to my home Wifi was unsuccessful. I had to restart the router and all went fine. Setup: WPA2/AES, b/g/n mixed and SSID is not hidden. It is a Linksys/Cisco device. Check your MAC filter if it blocks your device. DHCP server has to be turned on.
Regards,
Cina.
i did not have an issue with the wifi router... all i had to do is get my mac id as i filter my pc, notebook and pda by mac id..
i heard the ssid must be visible it cant connect to those hidden ones...
maybe lowering the security level will help as well..
HAVE YOU resolve the problem? i can not connect my home wifi as well.
thanks
Seen an app in the HTC hub called hidden wifi but not sure if it helps

Crazy wi-fi issues ("Obtaining IP Address...")

OK, I know some people are gonna think I'm absolutely nuts (and who knows, maybe I am ), but my wi-fi was working just fine last night. No issues, connection problems, no nothing. Then I went to bed.
When I woke up this morning, I turned on my Note but began having major wi-fi issues. Whenever I try to connect via wi-fi, I keep getting the message "Obtaining IP address...", yet my Note never obtains one. I've been fiddling around all day so I can get on the Net, but to no avail.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? I'm running stock ROM and made zero changes to my Note & router. Everything is exactly the same prior to when I went to bed last night.
Has anything similar happened to anyone else??
Thanks in advance, guys.
even i faced the same issue whole of yesterday...i thought it was some problem with the rom and changed back to the stock rom..but of no use...but today morning its working fine...seems wierd
its again stuck up in loop....connected..obtaing ip address..connecting
Ive seen this happen with a few different samsung phones and usally resetting the router will fix the problem dont know y

i have the same problem
wifi suxks
I had this issue, it would reboot TWlauncher, then work again.
Happens all the time. Use static IP as a temporary fix, it won't lose IP addresss again.
I have the same issue's, it seems to be an Android issue my previous Gnex had the same and i thought the wifi chip was broken or something.
After using the Note for 2 weeks on a random day i didnt have wifi and it had the same symptoms it could not find an ip adress. Now i simply use 3g at home.
I think it has something to do with either the wifi password encryption (wep, wpa, wpa2 etc) i have wep. Or the ip adress that is dynamic and not static.
Whats your wifi encryption?

Tried this already. I can connect, but now the wi-fi connection gets dropped for some unexplained reason every 5-10 mins or so, and I continually have to reconnect, which is extremely annoying. And that's not the only thing. Whenever I'm connected and using data, my laptop somehow loses its connection. And I know that my Note is the culprit because as soon as I disconnect it, my laptop immediately reconnects. Weird.
What makes this so frustrating is that I can't pinpoint the source of the problem. Literally everything on my phone and my laptop are exactly the same as before. I could understand if I was running a new ROM or installed a bunch of new apps/software on my devices, but that just isn't the case here.
I also tried resetting my router, but that's just a temporary fix (at least in my case). I've already had to reset it 3 times in the past 24 hours, and I don't look forward to the prospect of having to do this on a regular basis. Heck, I shouldn't have to!
Anyone know why Android (or the Note) does this? I still love my Note, but this wi-fi issue is fast becoming a nuisance.
Maybe your laptop and the Gnote are trying to obtain the same static IP from the router? (Check to see you ain't asking for the same IP!).
What does the router think is connected when you have both Gnote and laptop on?
Also, if that fails try the following.
1. Change Wifi channel
2. Remove the wpa+wpa2 option and just stick with wpa or wpa2 only.
3. Use a different subnet e.g 192.168.0.x to 192.168.1.x
4. Check the DHCP lease time is short enough (say 10 hrs).
5. Check you are allowing enough connections to be given DHCP IP's
Let me know how it works out.
I tried resetting my router but did not help, since my first post in this thread i flashed imilka's aosp v07 rom and now i'm back on wifi very weird.
My previous rom whas the chinese ics repack (no wifi at home) and the one before whas stock LA6 after a week use the wifi dropped out on that rom.
I still have a less secure wep encryption, but happy for now with the imilka rom.

a simple solution is to add your phones mac address to router whitelist. ..
I have same issue here. Whenever i turn-on my wifi, it scans public wifi even-though i have my own wifi with me. When im in public places and there's this public wifi, i cant connect. rather searching for another public wifi or and error message occur obtaining IP address.
my temporary solution is to disconnect from the connected address and reconnect the device again. Basically it helps
I swear, this wi-fi business is driving me nuts. Presently I can connect using a static IP, but even though I do connect and the icon shows a strong signal, I now have a new problem...I can't use the freakin internet!! I keep getting the message that I have 'No connection'.
Any solution to this? I have similar issue on my Note2 and Wifi works only on Stock Rom.

try changing the wifi setting in router to transmit only b/g and check
Not a router issue...
This is not a router issue, it is due to the wifi modem in you phone being messed up, have you tried flashing a mmodem fix for your phone? alternatively it could be due to file permissions.

First, you resurected a year old thread.
Second, you claim flashing a modem.img or baseband will fix wifi. Baseband AS NOTHING to do with wifi, the wifi firmware is (unless i'm mistaken) in /system/etc/wifi.
The problems op describes are hardware fault...
True.. Its drivers are in the kernel. Thus modem has nothing to do with it.

Wifi Problems

Hey guys, I am on the unofficial AOKP ROM. I have been on it for a few weeks but since today, I have been having WiFi problems.
First, it will connect and the icon will turn blue and a few seconds later turn gray.
After that, it completely disconnects and when I check in settings it says the connection is out of range even if I'm right next to the router!
I have researched the issue and most of the results have something to do with static IP address but I don't see that kind of option in my WiFi settings... What do I do?!

For static IP, long click your network, press modify, tick the advanced options box, change DHCP to static, configure
For me, the IP is 192.168.0.200 for phone and Gateway is 192.168.0.1...DNS is 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4
Phone can be whatever you need it to be, Gateway is the Router's IP address..Phone should be same as the router except for the last number...and pick a .x.x.x.yyy that won't be used. I have a set dhcp range between .100 and .150. All my static IP's are 160-255. You don't have to do it that way, that's just how I do it so I know what's what.
Thanks for the help. Figured it out

Weird WiFi connection

When I'm at home I automatically connect to a WiFi with an SSID like hgfyHjHjhffGgcyT557. Really dodgy. I have to forget this network then the phone auto connects to my own WiFi network.
Any ideas what this SSID is or why I auto connect to it even after forgetting it.
