Battery drain due to Google app and Camera Light Sensor ? - Samsung Galaxy M21 Questions & Answers

The Google app which always keeps running in the background consumes as much as 20% battery at any charging level. Though the camera light sensor for auto brightness also consumes around 15%, I keep disabling auto brightness and re-enabling it when necessary to save the battery. But the Google app seems like a serious problem, even if I disable the app, it still runs in the background consuming alot of battery.

Is there any way to fix this ? I am on the latest build with android security patch level dated 1 October 2020, I feel that battery drains a lot faster after this update.

disable or uninstall Google app don't use adaptive brightness

1. Google app still works in the background even after disabling.
2. It cannot be uninstalled until rooted. (However it won't be possible for me to uninstall as I use it often)
3. I have already disabled adaptive brightness, and this has nothing to do with Google app.

Turn off hey Google detection.
Optmize Battery uses for google app.
Turn off allow background activity for Google app.
Turn off background data uses for Google app.

If I am not wrong, there is no ambient light sensor on the front hence the phone switches on front cam momentarily to note the ambient light intensity. Thus, having a drastic impact on battery life.
only solution is to disable auto brightness.

I read in the manual that there should exist such a sensor, so is there really no other solution than turning off this very useful function?
it bothers me a lot draining the batgtery like that but also bothers me not using this function in nearly 2021 Oo
(having this issue on samsung note 10 lite)

Disable auto brightness

So what's helped me was to disable hey Google voice activation, and keeping smart stay(not that big of a deal) and auto brightness turned off.

Yeah I have already turned off Ok Google! detection, now it doesn't consume as much battery. However disabling auto brightness is nearly impossible for me. This phone doesn't have a dedicated brightness sensor, that's really bad of Samsung.

Turn off all power management for now; it can cause excessive power consumption and erratic behavior. Android manages its self nicely without it. Track down the root cause(s) instead.
Clear data in Goggle Play Services, Goggle Backup Transport and Framework.
Set Google apks and especially BrightnessBNR (clear it's data too) to factory load if they've been updated by Playstore. Disable Playstore auto-updates; destroyer of worlds.
Clear system cache.
Don't use auto brightness at all. I never do as it sucks anyway.
The phone may be misreporting which apk is using the battery; it may be a related dependency causing the drain.
Try loading Galaxy Labs>Battery Tracker from the Samsung store.
Load Karma Firewall from Playstore to control internet traffic. It logs in Pie; not sure about Q and up.

Can't we delete unnecessary bloatware, not google, like some method like this in Samsung phones?

Battery drain.

Running CM nightlies and wanted to know if anyone knows what's up with the battery drain? No apps running at all on sleep mode overnight and 60% of battery is gone when I wake up. That's disheartening.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Which nightly are you running? Also, have you flashed a different kernel?
Try analysing your battery usage (wakelocks, etc) using BetterBatteryStats - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809.
Also, certain things can be disabled...
In WiFi settings (Menu>Advanced) set 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' to 'Never'.
Disable NFC (in Wireless and Networks) if you don't use it.
Take a look at what your 'syncing' in Google Accounts... (Calender, Chrome, Contacts, Gmail, Currents, Photos, Play Books, Play Magazines, Play Movies, Play Music)... all of these will burn up your battery... and all are enabled by default. Disable those you have no use for.
Hope this helps.

Todays. Yesterdays last night though. And nah I'm not switching kernels until a full stable release. I used to get a bunch of problems with kernel flashing in nightlies.

turn wifi off when screen off, not sure( as i dont read these boards constantly anymore) but the n4 has a nasty wifi wakelock bug, might be the same for the n7
not sure if there are any kernels in here that solve

Was going to mention that... but the OP's problem relates to battery drain whilst the tablet is sleeping, in which case the screen is unlikely to be the primary culprit.
But I agree; disable Auto Brightness (and Smart Dimmer, if you're rooted) - neither work well, and I've personally found them to be more of an irritating nuisance than providing any discernible benefit to battery performance.
And then of course, you can manually adjust the brightness accordingly.

I would agree but in my HTC Evo 3D when i had Automatic Brightness on even trough the night it would discharge over 25%.
But since i have disabled AB it only drains 2-4% per night and on my Nexus with AB on it discharged over 15% but with AB disabled only 5% or less.
Maybe that's just my case, but it can't hurt to try right ? =)

The Best Nexus 5 Battery Tips

Hey there,
I constantly see lots of questions re battery life, I thought I'd try and help with a couple of very simple proven methods for increasing battery life on Nexus devices. None of this idiotic switching everything off garbage, you'll still have a fully featured phone. Google has added some very sneaky behind the scenes rubbish to monitor Wi-Fi and you're movements, it's this constant polling that can quite drastically effect your battery life.
Obviously, the third option won't work for everybody. Start form the top and move down till you're happy with battery life.
1. Do not use factory auto brightness, it is too aggressive on the Nexus 5. Install Lux and and let it handle the auto brightness. Link inside dark, medium and bright points and finally link a max brightess outside. This will greatly help battery life. Set brightness so it's comfortable, but not overly bright. This alone should net you an extra hour of screen on time if done correctly. I'm not saying dim, I have my screen nice and bright, just not as bright as the factory settings.
2. Fix the horrible factory Wi-Fi settings. Go into Wi-Fi, settings, advanced. Turn off Network Notification, turn off scanning Always available (this doesn't mean no Wi-Fi, it means it stops the phone scanning for Wi-Fi when the Wi-Fi is off, it's insane there is actually such a feature, un-check avoid poor connections, finally turn on Wi-Fi optimization.
3. Location reporting has to go. Go to your app draw, Google settings, location settings. Turn off location reporting and location history. This means you will lose Google Now. I personally couldn't really care, but many will. This does have a rather large effect on battery life, especially if you are out and about and moving through bad coverage and GPS areas.
4. You need to know what you have running on your phone, every app you install could be the one that stops your phone working as long as you need it. Many apps background sync without you actually needing it, or even realizing it. It's your phone, you need to run it. You cannot run Facebook, Twitter and 100 email accounts syncing all day and expect amazing battery life. You simply must be realistic. Only sync the email you have to sync. Open every app on your phone, one by one, if it has background sync, disable it if you don't need it. Apps like Pulse, Flipboard will background sync. Why on Earth you'd need them to load stories when you're not using the app I don't know. Even Google's own News and Weather app background sync's. Turn it all off. Additionally, I un-check Google Currents in Google account sync settings. It takes approx 5 seconds to load the data on nearly any app with modern phones with a single swipe or button press. These changes will drastically benefit you're battery life.
I hope this helps.
RE: WiFi scanning always on. I believe that this is supposed to save battery life. This let's apps use WiFi for locations rather than firing up GPS chip which is worse on the battery. So for example a weather app can push accurate weather where you are behind the scenes. Testing it myself the WiFi scanning checked on helps. That being said I also have Google Now on. Youre saying turn that off too. In that case it may help assuming you have no other apps that pull background GPS data as this seems to be the most GPS hungry app I have.

This is only partially true, As ive done extensive tests with core services and settings enabled and disabled. Not only for the Nexus 5, but the Moto X, Nexus 4 etc. I will definitely agree with the brightness. As far as number 2, google states this actually saves battery life, although my tests with it disabled and enabled showed no difference.
As far a location reporting and location history. It actually wont break your google now. Google now and all your cards function just fine. I would suggest leaving history on, and just disabling reporting. All reporting does is allow your phone to track where you are and lets you see here https://maps.google.com/locationhistory/b/0/. Just disabling the history has no significant affect.

To be honest what improved my battery life was flashing the current stock ROM and starting from scratch. Google Play Services still produces a ton of wakelocks thanks to Location Reporting but my phone loses only around 0.5% charge an hour on standby now with most services synced.

Could this not save battery if it's avoiding low signal connections? Wi-Fi always on feature is for when you're not using the GPS, in a supposedly "battery saver" mode in Location services.
In addition, look at your list of installed apps - the usual suspects like weather & news (those w. breaking news alert enabled and/or frequent updates - pre fetching news articles & pix, etc.) Weather Channel was high on my list after I turned off/disabled plenty others as listed above - running Facebook, Twitter & Skype ?? as those could be draining along with cloud storage access (Dropbox, Drive & Sky Drive, etc.)
Plus, let's face it - it's a 5" HD screen - set mine to timeout @ 15 sec. after inactivity, normally - I don't set it to less than 45 or 30 secs. - mine is essentially being conditioned with very little usage, mostly standby time after 2 days and 3 hours, 25% remaining. Screen Time On: 3 hrs. 17 mins.
For what its worth after setting up G.Wallet my biggest location hog was G.Wallet and I fixed that by un-checking showing offers based on location within Wallet.
I have however had a frustrating experience with location eating battery on this phone, the first couple days location was active for over 6 hours out of 13. I still have 3 minutes of GPS time this morning, even though reporting, history, G.now are all off and I haven't launched any location aware apps.
I think the first App on any phone should be "Disable Service". it is like "Services.msc" on windows, it will show you all services on the device from which you can see which services are running and stop them if you dont need them.
this is a must have, it will save you RAM and battery. requires root access.

Really helpful! Thanks!
Disabled some of the Google Apps I wasn't using (Magazines, Earth, Books) and switched off Location Reporting. I had forgotten i had turned it off on my Nexus 4 as well so maybe that's why my battery life wasn't so good. Will do some digging to see if any apps are downloading things in the background.
Thanks
Many thanks for the sensible suggestions.
I wish there was a set of switches one could use so that when you really required the comfort of knowing you needed your phone to last, you could set it to 'Low Consumption'. In fact there probably is an app.
Cheers anyway.
Bob
looking at the process statistics in "settings->developer options" facebook messenger is my biggest problem. Looking at the battery overview, it was the google play services.
I checked my fathers nexus 5 a few minutes ago (he has whatsapp installed and that's it) and he had 20% battery drain after 16 hours and google play services are at the top showing it's been running for 16 hours (is that the wakelock? looks like it, but i'm not sure).
So kicking the google play services sounds like a must-have. I use ingress after work and thats it. No need for constant position updates while i'm at work or sleeping.

Screen Always-On Gear

With all the Android Wear watches including the Gear Live having an always-on screen with the same 300mAH battery, how can we get this feature on the Gear 1?
Both the Gear Live and Gear 1 have 320mAH (Gear 1) / 300mAH (Gear Live) batteries
Both have AMOLED Screens of the same size and resolution.
Both are single core CPU.

if you want test the battery drain i can send you a simple watch face that take your screen always on...
I tested this once with ClockPlus Daydream (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mpelant.deskclock) and Xposed App Settings. I had set the app (through Xposed app settings) to never let the screen turn off and the app itself lets you set the clock brightness to incredibly dim (which I thought would be so low power, the drain would be acceptable).
Unfortunately, I found that it was still draining my battery around 20% per hour which was too much for me. YMMV

Yes, I'm running null_23 which does include google services. However, I do have a lot of things disabled to save battery life....on a typically day, I usually total around a 20% drop with medium use.

With NULL 23 installed with Google package, I disabled Playstore and Google Services while maintaining the Google Voice Search functionality. Using Titanium to disable the services to save battery.
Of course, I don't often use the Voice Search much, so Bluetooth Tethering is rarely enabled. With this configuration, one can get about 2 days of standby with about 1 hr of screen time, similar battery time to the stock configuration.
But this is still far from all day screen on achievable by the Gear Live.
What is the magic sauce?

Of course, I don't often use the Voice Search much, so Bluetooth Tethering is rarely enabled. With this configuration, one can get about 2 days of standby with about 1 hr of screen time, similar battery time to the stock configuration.
But this is still far from all day screen on achievable by the Gear Live.
What is the magic sauce?

Probably the ability to get the CPU to go into deep sleep with the screen on instead of running at min clock speed. There are probably also a lot more software tweaks in Android Wear (based on 4.4) to optimize power consumption as opposed to 4.2.2 which was never really meant to run on a wearable.

It's all about the battery...

I would like to say that i hope to make this thread a sticky, and that we as community, can help each other to eliminate the problem with standby drain or any battery related issue.
I would like to open with a recent issue related to Pie, rouge apps, which results in too much battery drain on idle and overnight.
I recently disabled powergenie to maximize performance of device and make sure that my apps won't auto dim(i'll post the commands here, so you won't have to search it):
pm disable-user --user 0 com.huawei.powergenie
pm uninstall --user 0 com.huawei.powergenie
I've been monitoring the battery life ever since, and noticed at first a faster drain on idle, that's because i had some rogue dating apps that i didn't think drain too much(PowerGenie might have prevented them from over draining, even though they ran in the background).
Which brings me to the next conclusion- On android PIE, media apps might drain more power than usual, as it wasn't the case with Oreo.
Since i use various dating apps like Tinder,Grindr,OkCupid, it all might contributed to that fact, mainly tinder which was draining battery even in silent operation.
Some here are some advices: If u use dating apps, at least tinder, make sure it's not running in the background.
Instagram is also a battery sucker, facebook app is the biggest sucker, u might use facebook and messenger light.
When you go to sleep, make sure that u have no active media apps in the background, as they'll try to connect to the net even if you have turned it off(Using Airplane mode kinda defeats the purpose of low idle drain), make sure to turn off all unneeded services such as Bluetooth, Wifi, Mobile Data, Location.
I'll update it, the more i'll find, i'll post some of my recent battery life(was using phone whole night, so it didn't overdrain in the night or idle time).
Powergenie specifically kills app wakelocks that are running too long if they aren't white listed so it's not surprising that some "rogue apps" are causing power drain after you disabled Powergenie since stopping rogue apps from causing power drain is the purpose of Powergenie in the first place.
I'm assuming you disabled Powergenie so you would receive more timely notifications but you probably ended up killing a fly with a bazooka.
There are less aggressive methods that generally fix that problem like removing important apps from Huawei's battery optomization and changing the app's notification priority to the highest available.
Unless your phone is rooted it's impossible for you to block any wakelocks yourself and closing the apps you see open in the display window doesn't stop them from running in the background--it just frees memory.
You can manually stop apps running from the settings/applications menu but they can be restarted by another app or by a system process.
I wish you luck but with Powergenie disabled you are going to end up with additional idle battery drain.

Not sure there I've had this removed for almost 2 weeks and I have quite a vast improvement in the battery performance, also I was having background colour issues with XDA, huawei video and YouTube which has since stopped. Apps open a lot faster and even when I opened Google photos There was a pause in loading photos which has since gone.

That's why it's in testing phase, i get notification and no force close apps. removed hauwei launcher and now toying with powergenie.
I might bring it back and see how it fares on vs it's off, when it's off, you gotta be more aware of wakelocks as you said.

I remember somewhere you said you could still see your battery software stats, despite uninstalling Powergenie? You had installed GSam battery monitor if I'm right? Then do you need to give that app permissions via ADB? Otherwise you won't be able to see the app usage right? After only installing GSam battery monitor I don't see the app usage yet. Also do you have the free or pro version? And doesn't GSam battery itself consume battery?

The stats in battery are gone, but I have Gsam battery Pro, it seems to not use much battery at all, but then I am relying on Gsam to tell me about its own product, but it has the stats pretty reasonable.
Don't understand what the top numbers are about but tells me I'm getting average of 9.20 screen on time, and 10.10 hrs max

Seeing an improvement in battery service likely depends on what apps you actually have installed. Apps that were referred to in a separate post as "rogue apps" have wakelocks that will prevent the phone from going to sleep and cause constant battery drain. They are coded either accidentally or intentionally so they will not be affected by standard power saving measures coded into stock Android.
Social media and dating apps are the most likely to do this on purpose so users always receive notifications immediately rather than when Google Play Services does a background sync. These types of user installed apps don't have the elevated system priveledges of something like an sms app so the only way to make them provide notifications immediately is to keep the apps awake in the background which drains battery.
I'm surprised you would see improved battery life with PowerGenie disabled but apparently PowerGenie is using more power blocking wakelocks than the apps creating the wakelocks use when left alone.
I haven't experienced any of the problems that you say disabling PowerGenie fixed on your handset but there are slightly different versions of the OS depending on where and how you got your phone. Some have carrier specific apps. Some have the Google Trust Agent and standard Google Smart Lock options. Some have the Huawei Trust Agent instead and only have a smart lock option for Bluetooth devices. Some have the standard Google Feed as an option on the stock launcher and others have a Huawei created screen instead. Some features are different or missing altogether depending on what region you select for the phone. Some stock Huawei stock apps don't work at all in certain regions. There are a whole lot of variables involved so everybody isn't going to have the same results that you had when disabling PowerGenie.
There's also the difference between the LG and BOE displays. I had phones with both and kept the handset with the LG display because it was brighter, had much richer colors and noticably faster pixel response.
I did notice an issue with brightness dimming while certain apps were running but only on the handset with the BOE display.

Indeed, I put my dating and social media apps on auto manage and brought powergenie back for now.
Results vary between different configurations, but social media apps needs to be kept eye on, in case you decide to doable powergenie

None of this really is relevant to the fact that I was using the phone for 8 weeks with power genie, then soon as I have removed it I have seen a dramatic improvement. The results speak for themselves.

Still irrelevant, since I have better performance and quality improvement. So you stating that it's not possible doesn't change the fact that it is.

Since I updated to .187 I have a strange issue.
I booted into recovery cleared the cache, fully charge the battery at 100% I get 11minutes before dropping to 99%
If I Go to apps and manually clear the cache 1 by 1 fully charge I get 36 minutes before dropping to 99%
This is with or without powergenie. Which is currently disabled.
Very strange.
Why is it if I have uninstalled Power Genie is it possible to still be a running service.
Developer options/running service

Yes, also running on mine even after disabling it.
Just stopped it now. Let's see the results. In any case, pretty happy with the battery so far. Also phone is snappier now.
i have tried both with and with out for weeks at a time same usage pattern same network same location, and settings and the only difference i notice is that on idle with out powergenie the phone discharges faster with powergenie enable it stays for a longer time with out losing juice in terms of SOT and usage it was basically the same with it on or off. At least for me.
I've got a problem with the removal of Powergenie since Emui 9.1
On Emui 9.0 I had no problems whatsoever. But since 9.1.0.300 my battery drains very quick. I even tried factory resetting a few times, without backup and I don't have much apps installed, the same apps as I had on 9.0... Also the battery charges slower, because the phone gets hotter. I checked for draining apps with GSam battery monitor, but all apps behave normal.
Only when I put Powergenie back the problems are gone...
I had this problem first on 9.1.0.300, then 9.1.0.310 and now still on 9.1.0.320.
I really want a solution for this problem as I don't want to keep Powergenie installed. With Powergenie installed my screen dims in bright apps. So when I open an app like Whatsapp, Chrome, GMail, or even the calender or notes app, the screen gets dimmer. When you close the app, the screen gets brighter again. This is so terrible annoying and I don't like this behaviour at all.
As far as I know there is no other solution for this problem, except uninstalling Powergenie.... Before I found the Powergenie solution I was really thinking about returning or selling this phone, just because of the dimming issue. But now there is a new problem
Can anyone help me with this problem? Does anyone else have this same issue? Right now I'm even thinking about buying another phone... But maybe Android 10 / Emui 10 will fix the problem?

I don't remember reading about a similar problem...so are you sure it's not an app or something else you uninstalled? I have none of these problems (and I whacked Power Genie 3 months ago, along with 3-4 other Huawei apps) - certainly I didn't expect charging to be affected or that the battery drains actually faster.
The fact that factory default does not have a positive effect is alarming - remind me, does that also restore the system apps you uninstalled using adb? I thought it does...
Running 9.1.0.325 on LYA-L0C.

I even had Powergenie uninstalled since around March I think. Never had a problem with it untill Emui 9.1 came.
I have not installed any new app. It surely is strange that a factory reset doesn't help. But when I enable Powergenie again, the battery behaves normally again. But then I have that horrible screen dimming back. :crying:

Question [Battery Drain ISSUE] S21 Ultra 512Gb/16Gb Exynos, Pics with 3 Different Scenarios in Post , BATTERYEXPERTS HELP!

Hey guys,
So i got my Ultra chunk on Jan 22nd (Italy shipments were early) and been testing it non stop on different scenarios on aprox. 10 charge cycles by now and i want to share some of them to find out which apps are draining it in standby idle and WHY CANT I GET MORE THAT 5.30hrs of SOT...i watch every Exynos battery life test on Youtube and I wonder why i cant get those kind of numbers on my phone... is it because of 512gb/16gb? is it because of apps/settings?
1st scenario NORMAL (before update)(with lots of apps on sleep) :
https://imgur.com/a/WDmsNZK
2nd scenario HEAVY (after the update) :
https://imgur.com/a/S5Etest
3rd scenario IDLE FOR 2.30hrs (after update):
https://imgur.com/a/p34u7WE
4th scenario without SS: There was a scenario where i only used camera for a day with lots of UHD and single take (which is heavy on cpu and takes lot of power and heats up the phone in cold weather) and it was around 20% with around 2hours of SOT and lots of camera time...
PS: also i want to add that i added every app and pic/video from my NOTE 8(which i got 4.30hr of SOT!!) and the app count with aprox~590apps (including system apps) and its only ~200gb after i copied bunch of movies to it. I cleared cached 2times by now, tried putting apps to sleep (around 260 of them) and then tried the same apps on deep sleep and today i deleted all of those to let system do that for me.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
adamlee2012 said:
Mine lost 2% in 57min of not been used. Definitely not normal. Hopefully Samsung are aware and send an update asap.

Which storage option and which variant? Exynos or SD?
what's your average SOT time when you're using it ?
Same issue
I doubt it's the 16gb/512gb configuration, and to be honest the first screenshot seems pretty reasonable, as youtuber tests are in perfect conditions and not switching apps or on mobile data.
So few questions:
WQHD/120Hz?
WiFi/5G/4G? If one of the later, what was your signal like?
Are literally all of your apps sleeping? If so that can actually be a drain if you're fully reopening apps that you use regularly. I would deep sleep anything you don't use often and let the system determine the rest
Emoji ap and chrome look like they're using quite a bit of battery considering very little use, have seen problems with chrome eating battery so might be worth finding a replacement.
Also seen smarthings has been said to be causing a lot of issues, but don't know if that's visible drain that gets reported or something that just causes it in the background.
Compared to my S10+, my s21u exynos seems to be closing apps way less aggressively i.e. YouTube Vanced is eating battery in the background unless I fully close it even if not watching a video. Hoping this improves with usage.
When starting from scratch (100%) with no apps open, my drain is like 0.6% per hour on WiFi with tap to make AOD, but seems to struggle to idle that well after use unless manually closing apps

and about smartthings, should i unistall it completly or should i disable something for it?
also i removed facedata and also found that FINGERPRINT SCANNER was on ALWAYS ON so i switched it off too.
deep sleep messed up the apps , should i put the apps on sleep again?
also my animation scales are all set at 0.5x in developer settings could that drain it too?
also i jumped straight from note 8 so i dont know about the tips and tricks that S20 users did, is there a specific set of settings that i should turn off/on?

Sounds like your apps are the problem. Go in the settings and restrict background data and background operation of them.
Google Play Services, Google Backup Transport and Framework are prime suspects.
Clear the data for all three.
Try blocking them with Karma Firewall*.

If you have a WiFi connection and have turned on WiFi calling, you shouldn't need to go into aeroplane mode.
This YouTube video explains the different sleep bins so worth a watch (
), but I would also let it settle for a few days if you're moving everything around every 5 minutes.
If it's saved passwords you are stuck in chrome for, I recommend a manager like bitwarden (works across all devices and browsers).
Good lock and animations shouldn't impact battery too much.
Did you use smart switch? Would always recommend a clean install, at least of settings.
Try charging your phone to full before bed, then seeing how much it drains overnight when asleep and if anything pops up on the battery usage that shouldn't

Wow, so it's not about the 512gb... great battery!
1.Did you use smartswitch when you started it?
2.how many apps you have approximately? Did you set up secure folder/dual apps
3.did you install any goodlock mods on it?
4.why fhd+? The qhd and fhd has the same batterylife according to phonearena test.
5.is your fingerprint reader set to always on? Do you have AOD on as well?
Appreciate the replies! Enjoy it

I tried deepsleep before too, it messes up the apps completely unlike the normal sleeping method, so im back to using that. Put 265apps to sleep yesterday. Idle battery drain is almost fixed after turning off aod/fingerprint always on sensor and also deleting smartthings, i dont know which one did that
I used smartswitch at fisrt, but only for moving media and contacts/messages, i didnt move the settings.
Secure folder and dualapps make different googleplay services when you create them which is like having two phones at the same time... I wonder if those are the issues

Wow, so it's not about the 512gb... great battery!
1.Did you use smartswitch when you started it?
2.how many apps you have approximately? Did you set up secure folder/dual apps

I do have goodlock. Only the custom clock mod.
I have approximately around 80 apps installed (including the stock Samsung ones)
FHD+ because if the display is barely distinguishable at QHD as opposed to FHD+, you may as well save as much battery as you can while still having the same experience.
I used SmartSwitch when I initially came from the Oppo Find X2 Pro and that went smoothly.
Fingerprint scanner is constantly active.

HEY GUYS, i included everyone to get the last feedback from you all:
So i think it's getting better this is from 90% to 2% yesterday to today, with 6.15hrs of SOT and ~19hrs of Batterylife, BTW i ran 3dmark (slingshot) and androbench and tried new games too so it was fairly more than normal usage ;
I disabled AOD and fingerprint always on, deleted Smartthings and cleared Play Services cache also i did put 265apps to regular sleep.
Things that i didn't change were: The wifi was alwasy on, bluetooth was on for the majority of the time too, sync on, WQHD+ 120hz, NFC on, and since there is no reception here i put the phone on Airplane mode i still have my goodlock mods and secure folder stuff there too.
And about the SMART SWITCH, I just want to show you guys that i only moved my media and contacts/messages to the new phone and not the settings.
Check them out:

So I always used tap for AOD (with option for fingerprint sensor to show when AOD turns on) as well as a routine for AOD always on when charging, best of both worlds and its an unnecessary drain in my eyes anyway.
I was worried at the battery life I was getting (had the phone from the 28th) but does seem to be gradually improving. I also removed GSAM and Accubattery so I wasn't constantly checking (and they run quite heavy in the background, like 500mb between them).
The other thing to remember is when people are showing battery of over a day, there's like 7-8 hours where it just idles loses 3/4/5%, so the battery life isn't really much better, so 24 hours of usage with 6 hours SOT really isn't that different to 18 hours with 6 hours SOT
Hopefully the improvements keep coming, honestly I'd delete the battery tracking apps and just use the in built one seeing as there isn't a clear drain from anything, you'll stop worrying and checking it all the time, thus saving more battery lol

I'm running on Pie with the factory load for Device Care. That may work well for you but not on the software I have.
I do best with all power management disabled.
Android Services battery use went nuts with power management enabled... and it got worse not better as the days progressed.
With AOD always on it uses less than 1% @ hour for my 10+ so I leave it on.

i had that AOD option since the beginning and some on the other forums wrote that they had improvements after disabling AOD so i disabled that and fingerprint (which is almost useless since i dont need it to scan constatly when im not gonna unlock with my fingerprint anyways i use my mi band as my smartlock)
also i had to use GSAM since i didn't full charge it to prevent degradation and only charged it to 90% hence why the stats are only for 88% of usage. ill delete it after i get another full usage statics. wish the system battery tracker monitored the battery since UNPLUGGED and not since FULLCHARGE.
my phone is getting better imo, and less 1~2hr less than other guys is kinda acceptable since i know NOBODY has that many apps as me lol and also nobody uses both securefolder and dualapps as much as me too.
i really push my phones to extreme and if this one could get me around 7hr of SOT with my usage ill be happy,
but i still think that a software update is indeed needed for Exynos models
The Exynos model really needs a Firmware Update....

Try Gallaxy Labs Battery Tracker, that's all I use most times.
I never use the fingerprint scanner.
AOD was never an issue but Goggle Backup Transport, Framework and Google Play Services are.
Those can cause excessive usage when on AOD on my setup. AOD battery usage should be around .6-1% @ hr max.

galaxy labs modules doesn't work on android 11,
also there is no Goggle Backup Transport, Framework in apps, maybe you're on older android/device so the methods are different for different devices and OS versions
