After trying this I thought, "Why would anyone want this? I mean, we have regular GCam which takes excellent photos while this is just a barebones build. Oh, and images look worse than the stock cam.

Best camera configuration for mi5?

Hello xda, today I decided to go through all the processes of installing TWRP and CM 14.1 on my Mi5, I have been using MIUI8 for a month straight since I received it. I really about the camera on my phone, I am always using it, and as everything in software-hardware stuff optimization is always possible, so I decided to install CM in order to try all those camera ports. So far I installed the Oppo port, and HTC 10 port on the thread that is on the forum, both had some bugs and to be fair didn't look good, same on the stock CM 14.1 camera. I wanted to know if you have any advice on what is the best setup that you can have on your mi5 to get the best out of the camera on the phones, thanks for your advice.
Best camera experience ever i had on my mi5 on miui 8 rom. Rest of them ar very bad this is the only reason I'm using miui otherwise I would go with cm14
Try the camera from CM13. Seems decent enough.

I had a back up of my MIUI 8 and tried to restore it with TWRP, had a brick and now my phone is functional again. I love the auto focus of MIUI8 camera, it has got me some neat shots.
Try footej camera.

Pixel camera port with night sight

Hi everyone....I am looking for Google Pixel camera port with HDR+, portrait mode and Night sight.
I downloaded a app a few weeks ago and it just didn't work then I have just downloaded a APK linked to a YouTube video and the night sight worked but portrait mode and normal camera just came out with over exposed photos that came out white.
Any good apks for Note 9 that can help me??
bump!
First: Exynos or Snapdragon?
Second: Why start a new thread? There's already a thread for both Exynos and Snapdragon. Everything you need to know should be covered there.
If you're on Exynos Oreo, go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/themes/app-collection-note-9-exynos-gcam-t3892545
If you have the Snapdragon variant I suggest following the method on Reddit, r/GalaxyNote9. Just search "Note 9 - fully working Gcam port Snapdragon" in the search bar. Everything works for me, just be sure to follow the steps mentioned in the post.
PS: Pretty new here, I can't post links yet .
There's a huge thread about this already in the apps and themes section. It's labeled working GCAm for Snapdragon.
Hey everyone
Thank you for the help.
I have started a new thread because every thread I went to supplied a camera that were really unstable and I was beginning to forget which ones I have downloaded, so I decided to make a thread.
I have a UK Exynos version and I have still not found a good one. I had a S7 edge before this and that Gcam Apk was brilliant, never failed and was always stable. I have come over to N9 and there have been so many bad ones.
Also there all having this really bad contrast problem, looks like I have some ULTRA flash...looks awful
This is how a image looks
Based on the very quick read I just did in the Exynos thread, there is no one-apk solution available and likely won't be in the near future. What that means is that you must use a separate app for night sight, and another for regular daylight shooting. That is why you're getting overexposed photos.
Again - you could have asked this in the same thread. No need to clutter up the board

Custom roms camera quality

Hi,
I own ZUK Z2 Pro that I have unlocked, flashed with AOSP Extended v4.6 official and rooted many moons ago. I simply can't fault this device or this rom, but one thing - the camera quality is very poor. I know it was poor on official ZUI rom as well, so I had no regrets to move to AOSP Extended, which I am very happy with. And I would continue to use this outdated Nougat rom, but I am about to perform a factory reset, so I thought I could try something newer. However, I read the topics and some new custom roms are somewhat buggy. I can adjust / sacrifice some UI glitches providing the camera gets a quality boost with GCAM mod, which as far as I know is not supported on my old rom.
So the question I wanted to ask is. Are the new custom roms having a better google camera mod to what a stock ZUI app or old custom roms had? Is the gcam worth it? Is there a rom that you could recommend that fits with gcam mod well?

Yes, it's really worth it. I recommend updating to android 10 (PixysOS - https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z2-pro/development/pixysos-3-0-4-official-zuk-z2-pro-t4080859).
I installed AEX, although it has good resources, I found serious problems and the above ROM seems to be the best.
You must follow the procedures, updating with original ROM - ZUI 4, and then updating with android 10, in order to use API2Camera.
I'm using this version of GCAM:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1150/
You have to configure it, front camera not to keep the photos with green tones, you can download an xml with the settings.
front camera Nexus6, and rear google pixel xl.
The difference of other cameras for GCAM (with correct configuration), is very great. You will have much better photos and videos.

Thank you so much for your input. From what I have read about all Android 10 custom roms for ZUK Z2 pro, they all suffer from some bugs and flaws. Whether that is going to improve - only the time will tell, but looking at how old this device already is, we may not see a great improvement.
As you have probably already gathered, I prefer older, more stable roms. Is the GCAM mod so good on Android 9 as well? And is the API2Camera available on Android 9? Thanks

Yes, all ROMs have little problems.
I was running Android 10, and I had a problem with magisk, and I needed to re-install the ROM urgently, as the android 9 files were stored inside the zuk, I ended up going back to the android pie.
I have a lot of activities, as soon as I have some time I will return to android 10, because I thought it was better.
The two ROMs that look best to me are Arrow and PixyOS.
AEX has great features, but it has several problems. I didn't test evolution-X.
GCAM, for me, works best on android 10. But yes, it also works on android 9.
My experience with android 10 (Arrow and PixyOS) were good and I recommend, I think this is better than the ROM with android 9.
In Zuk Z2 pro, between versions 8.1, 9 and 10, in my experience, the best ones are, 8.1 and 10.
As version 10 I can use the latest versions of GCAM, this will be my ROM.
Best version I found:

New Redmi Note 10 Pro user...

I'm here because I want the 'cool depth map' available in the MIUI camera app, but I don't want any of the MIUI spyware.... so I'm off in experimenting with various Images (Pixel Experience is my first attempt)..... If anyone else has gone down this route, let me know. It would save me time, which could be better spent playing Stellaris)
