OneUI 3.0 Beta Coming Soon - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

By what i have read and according to the below article, we should see the beta later this week ......
https://www.sammobile.com/news/sams...0-beta-with-galaxy-z-flip-more-to-follow/amp/

Cool, cant wait till someone will dump the file for us

The beta for the S10 has been released, so my guess is Tomorrow for the Z Fold 2......(Unconfirmed)........but ......fingers Crossed......?

Would be nice, if someone from the UK, Germany or India (who registered for the Beta) could pull the update.zip with i.e. HttpCanary

I'm think we should have to wait few more days https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-locked-out-galaxy-z-fold-2-users-with-one-ui-3-0-beta/

Well that's concerning, LOL.

Although I will say I hope they release OneUI 3.0 soon for the Z Fold 2. I LOVE it ony Note 20 Ultra. The changes are significant, but subtle. Just enough to make it feel like a new device, but familiar.

New Beta 2 has been released:
Can't post a link but it's on tizenhelp dot com

yes, finally hope someone will dump it soon https://www.tizenhelp.com/one-ui-3-0-beta-update-for-galaxy-z-fold-2-resumed/

Although it has been released for them, it's for the F916N model and not the F916U model. To my knowledge there's only snapdragon CPUs in the fold 2 but, I don't know if that'll impact the probability of a successful flash. If someone does manage to snag the file, backup before attempting it. I have a galaxy s20 ultra and the amount of people that issues with the beta was almost unrealistic and a lot of it can be alleviated with backup. If the beta is anything like it is for the s20 series, you will not be able to restore your data if you choose to return to stable 10. Hopefully sometime next week we'll see something for the F916U.

Don't forget the F916B model (more sold over the world...)
Are there people from India, UK or Germany reading this and willing to pull the update.zip when participating on the Beta?

New to the forum, got the FOLD 2 on O2 last month loving it,
let's hope they release the beta for F916B!

The official roadmap just dropped and we're supposed to be getting the official in January. A little outside the discourse but at this point I figured I'm going to wait and skip dealing with the beta and others might have a similar plan knowing it's going to hit relatively soon.

I mean, I'd like to say I have that kind of patience, but I don't. I'd download the beta if it dropped the day before the official. LOL

It's good if they will actually stick to their word this time but it's still quite crap that it will have taken them nearly 6 months to release. When the devs on here have already released gingerbread ROMs!!
Come on LG some your [email protected]#t out!!
I wish people would stop posting these, it's clear that LG have no idea when they're releasing it.
It especially didn't need a new thread when there are so many on it already.

Yea, Samsung has sold 5M S2's in 85 days. If LG did better for O2X as First Dual Core Mobile. This won't happen

It will be when we decide ( just instal CM7 or modaco ) and will be 1000% much better than any LG rom

Would still be great to have the sources for 2.3 - together with the LG Apps (esp. Camera app) which will work on 2.3 ...
the main reason, maybe LG didn't know how to make GB fully operational in optimus 2x or they too busy to prepare a new comer, optimus 3d etc. etc?
Probably the amount of bugs to fix
don't hold your breath.
One thing is for sure.
There are going to be a lot of Pissed off people if we get the GB update and the phone still suffers from overheating and shutdown issues

Key Lime Pie?

Do you guy think that our little phone will be able to handle the new OS?
I donno. Most people doubted it running 4.2 and now it runs better than even 4.0! I hope to have a new phone by that time, anyway.

Everyone will have an s3 by then T-Mobile is already in talk about offering the s3 for 0 down with qualifying credit with its new financing program in last months sales meeting I can buy an refurbish s3 for around 149.00 but I'm sure the price will drop by then. For this phone I'm sure someone will figure it out but if not the s3 will be at an decent price.

If I get another phone I would go big hopefully note 3 is out by then.
I'm on the no contract plan so I just have to pay $55 a month, but my next device will probably be a Nexus...
*pops up out of nowhere*
First of all, KLP is probably 6 months away at least. There's been numerous sources and *ahem* confirmations (still not 100%, but enough evidence to be believed) that the next Android version to be released at I/O next week will indeed be 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Secondly, as long as camcory, smartguy, Tim, and the other geniuses are still around here, then yes, I do see the Exhibit running the next update. May take a while for various drivers (wifi, bt, gps, and camera come to mind), but I bet they'll be hard at work to get things going. It's the typical ongoing cycle non-Nexus phones always have to deal with. Speaking of which....

There was just a story on VR-Zone (June-12-2013) and they said that Google is optimizing KLP to run better on devices with 512MiB, and it's coming out in October. I'm sure i'll still have this phone by then, so hopefully somebody will be able to get it working.

How many of these whining threads do we need? Why not just join the whine fest in any of the dozens that already exist?
Yeah its not forgotten, most of the F,C,H etc variants don't officially have it either if you look at things by region code. They have released to only a few specific regions...
Beside from looking at some of the lollipop threads there are still issues with current builds, such as the lack of silent mode. Xposed doesn't yet work on lollipop TouchWiz roms either and is still in alpha on AOSP roms.
I think I'd rather be on 4.4.4 for another month or two, get a better release, and hopefully working xposed than be one of the test regions and have a degraded experience on my phone.
I don't get the point at all. It's just wasting all XDA users time to come in and read the post and comments. Please don't do this again, you're actually wasting not only your own time, other also the others. Thanks

Isnt it strange how quite a few of the carrier models have managed to get the upgrade before the N910U international unbranded model (mine is unbranded anyway) not whining Im just saying.
Also the U model desperately needs the update to fix the dreaded call answer volume spike, come on SS at least provide a patch to fix that, you've already updated ROM 5 times and not fixed quite a few bugs, better be saving the best until last!

I feel ya buddy. I feel your pain for it annoys the bejeesus out of me.
Sam fails miserably at communicating with their users. Tweets are an easy way to reach out and give some feedback what's happening... Facebook pages or whatever. In our connected society their silence is deafening and to me denotes arrogance.
For what it's worth FU from me too

What is purpose of this idiotic thread ?

Surprised this thread is not locked and deleted yet.
Everyone knows what Samsung are like with updates, yet they still buy the devices and complain when they're slow to update or even forgot about. If you want updates yesterday. Buy an Nexus
For the record, I own an Note 4. I'm content with it. Also, I got Lollipop on mine but reverted back to KK for now, used L on the N5 for long enough.

OnePlus 3 closed beta group receives 8.0 Oreo*

OnePlus has always been praised for having clean, near-stock software, and a big advantage of this is that updates are much easier to push out. Case in point: the OnePlus 3 has already received Android 8.0 Oreo via the closed beta group, with the newer 3T and 5 receiving it soon as well. Plus, OnePlus is hoping for an Oreo public beta by the end of September.

Depends how fast they can fix things but we are talking about OP here... OOS is still buggy after reports from pretty much everyone and all they add is crap like watermarks etc in camera app. Let's hope they can get it out before anyone else then I'll be impressed

Last year, OP promised Nougat by the end of the year and true to there word, it arrived on New Years Eve. If they manage the same feat this year, I for one, will be impressed. :highfive:
I know this will be the last major update so lets hope its nice and stable will no major bugs or battery draining issues.

I hope too but not much faith in OP on the software side. Lets hope they push the 8.x.x updates and not just give us 8.0 like with 7.0 is was a mess few devices I own suffer from the battery life issues and what not from that because OEM didn't push 7.1.x with the fixes

I agree that battery life is worse in Nougat. However, this is also the case with my Galaxy Tab S2 so it may be a general Nougat issue as opposed to a One Plus issue. Apart from this, I've always found OOS to be excellent and without bugs with great functionality. Samsung could learn a lot from One Plus.
Apart from the split screen mode, I'd go back to MM in a second if there were monthly security updates on both devices.
So you think that the next Open Beta for OOS or H2OS will come with Android 8 ?

OxygenOS 9.5.7 update available for 5G model

There's a new update our for the 5G variant, 9.5.7
It adds very little and quite frankly is a bit of a disgrace - this "update" is still the June path level and to make matters worse the feature disparity between the 4G & 5G is widening!

Which do you think is the majority device? Yeah so that's the one they'll dev for first. That's the risk of getting into technology at launch, exactly why I didn't bother with the 5g version, wait until it's properly bedded in and the norm.

Apparently there's an ongoing issue with the patch they were going to release, hence the delay. If it was me, I'd be happier with a working phone than an updated, mebbe insecure, mebbe glitchy phone. They have said the patch will be coming soon, presumably to bring it to parity with the 4G models.

I told them the phone wasn't fit for purpose as advertised features still didn't work properly, and the continued lack of updates made me question whether they ever would.
OnePlus' silence when it comes to answering queries or support tickets about the 5G is inexcusable - they clearly aren't interested in this phone variant, and I doubt it will ever gain parity with the (lesser) 4G variant.
I'm either going to get a Note 10 or Mate 30 when they're available - I know the Note 10 can do 5G and I almost guarantee that the Mate 30 will too!
How can you go to 60Hz after using 90Hz? I went to a local phone shop to see the Note 10(+), but just because of its 60Hz screen I wouldn't buy it. Period. It just feels sluggish and laggy. All the animations feel as if they are capped because of the 60Hz display.

I'm looking forward to a phone where the main features actually work! If I have to sacrifice a bit of screen refresh in order to have a functioning phone, then so be it!
