Just waiting for TWRP to get started with. Wondering why it's getting delayed for oneplus 8t. It's always been easy and quick with development and TWRP for oneplus devices. Fingers crossed.

[Recovery](KENZO)TWRP-COFFACE (3.0.0) No patched boot.img required to flash MIUI roms

Hi All,
You guys must be thinking why i'm sharing this recovery when we already have Official TWRP Recovery
actually this Recovery is Lil bit modified (One of my friend Found it somewhere)
via this Recovery you guys will able to Flash any MIUI Rom without Modifying/Patching Boot.img (I tested it my self)(i flashed miui global stable 7.2.3 and global dev 6.4.28)no patched boot.img required
Note:- I'm Not responsible for any kind Of damage caused to your device
Orignal Link => https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6zD6Bewl4FmQVJGVVBOdzRmT2M/view
Password to the zip :- www.cofface.com
Instructions to flash
download the zip file (link provided)
extract The TWRP recovery.img (password given)
and flash it via flashify or Fastboot
Fastboot Command "Fastboot flash recovery "image-name.img"
yoo done
BUG:- Its not a major bug its not even a bug(i'm just considering it as a bug) but kinda annoying once you flash this recovery this recovery will change your device name from KENZO to CM_KENZO(this not gonna affect anything) but if you will try flash AOSP v4 or anyother AOSP build that verifies the Product name will give some errors
that "This build is for kenzo devices not for Cm_kenzo device"
Solution :- Open the zip in winrar and edit the updater script just change the Kenzo word with CM_Kenzo and it will work (alot of work to do right)
Another solution (this one is better i guess)
when ever you wanna flash MIUi official firmware flash this reocvery via Flashify.
flash the miui rom...
boot it up again flash the official TWRP recovery(so that you will able to flash other roms)
WARNING:- Dont flash miui rom via official TWRP recovery it will not boot untill you flash the Modify boot.img
Update
Bug fixed ===> "This build is for kenzo devices not for Cm_kenzo device"==>No Error now

Seems to work, but TWRP is in Chinese?
I used Cofface's abd + fastboot files and replaced cofface_recovery_twrp_kenzo.img with the fixed TWRP.img provided by Rajdip. I get some prompt from what I can tell, but since everything is in Chinese I don't know what to click. I'll try to find a solution and post it here.
Update (Solved):
I still don't know what the first screen message was about, but you can get into the normal TWRP menu by swiping the slider to the right. After that click the second from the bottom button on the right to get into settings. Press the globe-symbol on the upper tab bar. From there you can choose the language you want TWRP to be in.
Update #2:
Works like a charm for me. Just installed SuperSU as well. I'm on Redmi Note 3 SnapDragon with Global Developer ROM 6.4.14 (MIUI7), officially unlocked bootloader. Thank you very much for posting OP!

The first prompt that appears is whether you would like to make TWRP modify system files or keep it read only. In simple words, if you swiping to the right Mi recovery wont replace TWRP when MIUI roms are flashed. If anyone didnt swipe right on the first prompt, just goto mount and unselect the read-only option.

Nice to know. TWRP asked the same thing (again apparently) when I rebooted from menu to system. It also provided the option to install SuperSU (or rather install the SuperSU Installer - whatever that was worth). I'm confirmed rooted now and recovery is still TWRP after many reboots. :good:
But is 3.0.0.0
I don't understand that

No it will not fix that.... actually the thing Is When we unlock Bootloader with Official method it will not get relock while flashing any rom(via recovery)(miflash can still do that) in unofficial Method we replaces the emmc file with the modified one(and when we flash any official rom this file get replaced as this one is modified and (update. Zip/miuirom.zip) does not verify that emmc and relocks the boot loader....
What This recovery does is...
Miui roms inculde some recovery verification On The first boot
Which means it will replace twrp with the stock miui recovery which will cause bootloop...
For this we need to flash the patched/modified boot.img
But This recovery is Lil modified (it auto patches the boot.img and and our recovery does not get replaced and yoo thats how this recovery successfully flashes miui without a patched boot.img

[GUIDE] How to flash a Pie based GSI on 5z

Thought I'd post this since I felt a lot of people here needed it.
Steps to flash Pie GSI:
1.) Unlock your bootloader using the unlock app from https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-5Z-ZS620KL/HelpDesk_Download/
2.) Download the latest firmware (80.30.96.80 at the moment) from https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-5Z-ZS620KL/HelpDesk_BIOS/.
3.) Extract this firmware and grab payload.bin from it.
4.) Download payload_dumper from https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260.
5.) Extract payload_dumper and put payload.bin inside payload input.
6.) Open payload_dumper.exe and let it extract the contents of payload.bin
7.) You should find the extracted images in payload_output.
8.) Flash the vbmeta.img from payload_output using the command, "fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img", this is done to disable dm-verity to let the GSI boot.
9.) Download the latest Phh Pie A/B GSI from https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases
10.) Extract and flash the GSI using the command, "fastboot flash system filename.img", replace filename with the name of the image.
11.) Reboot and you're done.
Known issues (on all GSIs):
1.) VoLTE doesn't work.
2.) Mobile network settings crashes... You can't change APN settings or whatever.
3.) Magisk is unusable since it appears to break a lot of things including RIL and WiFi.
Other than said issues, GSIs are mostly stable enough to use as daily drivers.
Thanks for a detailed guide!
Some screenshots will also be appreciated.

1.) sound, I don't think stereo mode works, outdoor mode wouldn't work either

It's in the Asus factory image.
To be precise, it's in the payload.bin file in the factory image zip. You'll need to extract payload.bin and dump it to get vbmeta.img.
All the links and info you need are in the OP. Please read critically.
Edit:
You might just want vbmeta, but it's best to follow the instructions and download the factory image.
You can use the factory image to go back to stock and/or flash a clean boot.img.
8.) Flash the vbmeta.img from payload_output using the command, "fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img", this is done to disable dm-verity to let the GSI boot.
Thanks for your efforts - When flash by using above command - error msg coming as below
PS C:\Windows\system32> fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
C:\adb\fastboot.exe: unknown option -- disable-verity
Pls help me out.

TWRP for EMUI 9.1
THIS TWRP IS FOR DEVICES WITH KIRIN 65x SOC (HI6250) RUNNING EMUI 9.1 AND NOT EMUI 8
What's different from TWRP for Android 8?
erecovery_ramdisk option to flash .img
system_root partition for 9.1
What works now?
You can now flash .zip like Gapps and they'll work (before it gave error 64)
What doesn't work?
At the moment, I don't know if ADB sideload works.
Otherwise, everything seems to be working.
How to flash this TWRP
To recovery_ramdisk
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk [TWRP].img
I DIDN'T BUILD ANY OF THIS
I only modified a TWRP (which I don't know the author, sorry) to make it work good on hi6250 EMUI 9.1 devices.
I would like to have the hardware and knowledge to build and develop new stuff but at the moment I can't.

It works! I had to flash 3 files for the stock recovery (recovery_ramdisk, _vbmeta and _vendor). Then i flash the twrp recovery and it works. The only problem is that when i browse internal storage, the folders name are all random characters... Why that?
Another question is, how can i root my device now?

Just flash Magisk like you would with any TWRP assuming it works. If you want recovery and root in a stupid way.. just flash my TWRP to recovery and in recovery, flash my or any other TWRP/recovery to e-recovery and after that, flash Magisk like usual.
Thank you for the build. Any chance of flashing this on a device with locked bootloader, like using an official flash tool to flash a signed recovery or using e-recovery (I have experience with bootloader and flashing but not with Huawei/Kyrin)?
I keep getting a (remote: partition length get error) error ... Any help ?
Thanks a lot!! :good:

Hi, gelber here.
I'm sorry for the confusion, but I really barely touch XDA and as I deleted my old Google account, I lost access to this XDA account (I_am_gelber) and to that gdrive link. However, I can defo give the file back in a bit but I'm surely gonna forget. If you really want the file, please pm me at t.me/ActuallyNotGelb since I still need to give it a quick find.

Simply download the TWRP-3.5.1_10-0 from twrp website and flash it using fastboot mode, steps are mentioned below
Fastboot Install Method:
You will need the platform-tools from the Android SDK on your computer. Download only the platform-tools according to your device to get adb and fastboot binaries.
On your device, go into Settings -> About and find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable developer settings. Press back and go into Developer Options and enable USB debugging. From your computer, open a command prompt and type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
You should now be in fastboot mode.
Download the zip file attached to this thread and copy the recovery.img file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
REMEMBER: is important that from fastboot you directly go in TWRP mode or the TWRP will be overwritten.

Nice. Hope it go official soon
Has anybody tried this? Time zone settings, display time out setting, none of the settings are saving. It goes back to default after reboot. I installed the zip via older version of TWRP. I tried installing via Fastboot but it stuck on splash screen.
after formatting data and rebooting to recovery, copying files to device does not work. Internal storage does not show up. i have to reboot to system again to get copy to device working and get internal storage to show up again. this is a bug with every other twrp out there except the LR team one. Hope you fix this bug.

Hey, glad to see someone working on X2 TWRP again.
Normal versioning would be like 3.5.0_10-1 (then 3.5.0_10-2, etc.) not 3.5.0_10.0.1, by the way, but otherwise looking good over here!

Yeah normally the device-side increment is just the -1 or -2, etc. No worries though.

Hi, I have a poco x2(miui 12.1.2) and I'm looking to flash a custom rom. Can I use this safely? I'm new to all of this and I'd like to avoid bricking my phone by accident, If not, would you mind suggesting an alternative?

M2004J19AG with boot loop. Want to install TWRP and custom ROM

Hello.
I tried to install TWRP but no luck, only managed to have a constant bootloop. I can enter the menus (vol+ and power pushed, vol- and power pushed).
I tried different roms, no luck.
I managed to install TWRP from this: {Mod edit}

I tried XiaoMiTool V2, unable to unbrick.
Now I have a brick. No TWRP. No ROM. Bootloop.
7 days waiting for bootloader unlocking? I'm very upset with Xiaomi, really.
ColdIce tried to help me. No luck.
Any hope? Any help? I always wipe partitions. I don't know what to do with this.
Something is happening
Tried flashing my favourite custom rom right now, same recovery, same rom, same kernel , same version, older miui version, same flashing steps
Gets stuck in bootloop now while it didnt before
Something actually bad is hapenning
have been stuck on this:
rom boots into setup
setup works partily
system reboots after getting into the set up
rom tries booting again but something prevents it from booting and just reboots
(i can see it finishes booting but doesnt start)
this seems to be a thing with all custom roms???
why is this happening now
might be the case with the stock rom also my god why the ****
What's happening?
I see there's MiFlashPro tool...

I am ColdICe and i dont understand this?
Nothing changed, there shouldnt be anything stopping it from working, but it doesnt
work
This seems to be a problem with all custom roms and does not include stock roms
The custom roms i know worked couple of days ago, i truly dont know why this is
happening
I was able to reflash the stock rom through a "recovery rom" with no issues
seems like you will have suck it up and enjoy using stock miui
(other than the first boot being a bootloop)
I was using miui 11.0.4 before flashing a custom rom
If any of the guys that port the custom roms want to look into this i would be greatful
Ive tried using "eOS" which has a boot animation which says "my data is MY data" when it finishes booting, so you can tell when it boots
when i boot into the rom it works until i enter the set up , after i do it crashes into a bootloop, i can see that it boots (due to animation) , but just keeps rebooting
If anybody is willing to test this, because i am not anymore, try flashing the vanilla build of arrow OS (link) since it does not include a set up screen
Does this rom also bootloop?, since it seems to be related to a set-up screen (???)
Also do GSI ROMs also have the same issue? If you try theese, please post your findings in the comments
edit: formatting and a small remark
