Yeah but during the setup, I can restore the Google settings backup from the cloud which makes things easier, else I have to set everything up from scratch again.

Yes, backup from gdrive will be an issue in this case. Will build without gapps from next update.

New update available for Download.
+ December security patch
+ Fixed BT audio
+ Bluetooth battery level in the status bar
+ Fixed icons on lock screen after style change
+ Enabled internal audio recording of older apps
+ Added delete option in the screenshot

Gapps are not included now.
Recommended gapps packages is flamegapps basic : https://sourceforge.net/projects/flamegapps/files/arm64/android-11/BETA/2020-12-05/

How do you get Magisk to work? Tried stable, beta and canary on the latest build, none boots. Edit: Have to flash Magisk while flashing the ROM, or it won't work.

Notice:
In order to install GApps, you must flash the ROM then reboot into TWRP before flashing our custom GApps package (as this switches slots). Custom GApps package can be found at https://mirror.myself5.de/taimen/GApps. We're working with the team behind MindTheGapps to fix the upstream for taimen.
Also, we know the default wallpaper on is black. We know it's caused by the RRO overlays on vendor and unfortunately we can't change the default (yet?), you can change it manually without complications though.
We know it’s complicated, but it sure is worth it!
Install Instructions:
Flash the newest factory images on both slots
Move your ROM + [GApps] + TWRP.zip to your internal storage
Boot the TWRP.img > Check what Slot you're on (Reboot Menu) ->Wipe Data & Cache -> Flash the ROM as well as the TWRP.zip
Either Reboot to system or, in case you want GApps, reboot to recovery via TWRP (Reboot -> Recovery)
Check and confirm that you are on the opposite slot from Step 3. If not, switch to it and reboot the recovery again (Reboot Menu) -> Flash GApps (and whatever else you want to flash -> Reboot to System -> Enjoy CarbonROM

Will be fixed Tuesday
Only issue I've had so far was I browsing OfferUp at ~60 percent battery and phone randomly cut off and went into the boot animation (1st and only time it's happened thus far). Camera, voice, and Verizon data have all worked so far and no other issues
Sailfish weekly is up, Google Camera should be fixed once and for all.
Gallery fc and Google camera fc has 100% been fixed with this update. Waiting on confirmation for Snapchat fix. Thank @Myself5.
New build up :good: Snapchat confirmed working by the way.

Not happening on my device. Also ghosting happens either because of bad firmware or hardware issue. Nothing ROM can help.

What is R?
Our release of Android 11, titled CR-9.0.
It provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. R delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover

We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
3) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS stable build on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
The easiest way to do that is by installing the latest Version and then copy it by flashing the copy-partitions script made by LineageOS in the recovery. (See install Instructions for the recovery)
The recommended way to install is using the CarbonRecovery linked below.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to recovery using
Code:
fastboot boot kebab-YYYYMMDD-HHMM-recovery.img
Sideload the ROM. (Apply Update -> Apply from ADB -> Connect to PC ->
Code:
adb sideload CARBON-CR-9.0-R-WEEKLY-kebab-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps/MicroG through sideload like above (optional)
Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset (Make sure to have a backup of your data)
Done
Followup builds can be updated through the builtin CarbonDelta Updater or by dirtyflashing.

The install instructions include a step on how to install GApps (MindTheGapps recommended). There is no reason for us to release seperate builds for that, especially as the builtin updater as well as CarbonRecovery keep the GApps installed during updates.

Check Drivers and see if ADB is updated, also make sure the file you downloaded isn't corrupted.
already checked and re-downloaded the ROM ..flash from twrp is ok.. only by adb error..is it possible that one of the 2 slots is corrupt?

Mine installed perfectly when using the rom installer method after extracting the images with the payload dumper. Try that method via fastboot. Also use the Basic NikGapps. That wont give errors while syncing your google accounts (if you desire to use gapps).

oops I completely overlooked it.
I'm using this rom lately, it's running great !! Thank you !!
I got Carbon on my Mi Pad 4 Plus, which would be a bummer without the great work of custom ROM devs like the Carbon crew.
Now I thought about giving my 8T Carbon too. Got some questions before doing so.
What camera is included in Carbon for the 8T? The original OnePlus camera?
Does Carbon on 8T have the dialer/SMS/contacts system apps like on the Mi Pad 4 - I mean the system apps from AOSP (?) or is it the bloated Google apps from Google Play?
Did anybody flash Carbon on 8T and is using another custom Kernel, if yes - which and how's it?
I guess flashing flame Gapps on this would be OK?

Camera: "Snap", the Opensource camera app from CAF (as known from Lineage or OmniROM)
Yes. All official builds only contain the opensource AOSP apps.
Can't answer that
Yes. See the install instructions on how to do that.

Thank you for the reply, Sir.
I guess then it's good to have gCam and Google photos to have a decent camera. Or is "snap" any good?
Already getting annoyed with Oxegen OS with issues that seem to follow me from my 6T
How's the bluetooth on 8T AOSP?
Also since this is Android 11 does it have that power menu with all the smart home junk I have grown attached to?

Unless I'm looking at something wrong, that link brings you to the official site but the build is only available through a payment on Patreon. I wasn't able to get to the build from that link, or from the download button on the telegram group. The only way I could find it was a sourceforge. If I'm doing something wrong I apologize, if not just a heads up you may want to change the link

Sorry, when I looked it wasn't there but it was right after you posted.
Okay so here's a mini review from what I've seen so far. So far the ROM is great. The layout of all the settings is perfect and it makes everything really simple to use and easy to find. Everything seems to work so far, however there is a crash under the connected devices settings when you hit the sub menu to check what devices you can connect to. This happens on a lot of roms for the 6t. I love what you did with the kernel. The cpu sets are perfect, I usually have to switch them to what you already have as default. I love the fact that you tuned the cfq scheduler settings, such as async and more. This is probably the most fluid Rom I've used on the 6t and I've used almost every single one of them, from divest to calyx, aicp, Evo x, CR Droid, pxsop, Siberia, lineage, awaken, nameless.... Literally all of them except for maybe two. The responsiveness is phenomenal.
I would have liked to see a camera app stock, it would be cool if you could add the graphene OS stock camera app as I find it much better than snap and it works great on the 6t. The pixel launcher is very smooth but I was a bit thrown off because from the rom description it looked like there was a modded pixel launcher included. The customizations on the rest of the rom are great, and although it's incomplete as it's a first build, there was a great deal of stuff to pick from and I don't have any issues with setting any of them. The only thing I encounter it is the first time I clicked on the customization button, whichever the first one is in the sub menu, the system ui restarted real quick but perhaps that was necessary.
I guess I should have put things in order a bit better but set up wizard work perfectly and fingerprint enrollment and accuracy is excellent. There is an issue where sometimes you can't double click on the lock screen to wake the phone up, and you must press the power button instead, but for a first build and the ROM as a whole in general I'm impressed and you guys have done a great job. Thank you.
Some quick shots
awesome Thank you!

I think it's only the last Samsung clock, I had to format data to recover from the systemui error. The others work fine for me
I need help, I don't had an camera app preinstalled. Which one can I use ? the google camera app crashed everytime. Another question is does th rom have double tab to wake/sleep like OxygenOS?
Hello, would love to install the rom but I can't go through the installation, when trying to install the zip, I got this error :
loading: '.\ProjectElixir_1.9_fajita-12.1-20220726-1213-OFFICIAL.zip'
* cannot read '.\ProjectElixir_1.9_fajita-12.1-20220726-1213-OFFICIAL.zip' *
I tried with TWRP, ADB sideload and also lineageos boot image recovery
Tried to download three times but seems the file is not correct.
Installing others rom works perfectly
Edited : Okay, I found out why I had this issue, my ADB tools were too old, I managed to install the package with Minimal ADB and Fastboot [2-9-18]

Install the grapheneos camera for a quick snap camera for instant use. It his good quality, uses HDR plus and removes all of the metadata from the photos. There's a version of it in the Play store, but you can download it from their github as well and it has a themed icon and no Google services. If you want double tap to sleep, you can either install different launcher like lawn chair, or use a pixel launcher mod that adds double tap to sleep
