My review of the official Samsung leather back cover. - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Accessories

When I purchased my device from Samsung USA they gave me a $30 coupon which I used to off set this overpriced "back cover "which retails for $50 plus.
My thoughts ? Feels good, little to no protection of the screen but that was expected. Camera lens area is raised so protected. Top and bottom has a slight raise , sides of case sit lower to the sides of the display, thus zero protection. There are some characteristic defects in the case, like stretched leather areas on the corners due to manufacturing which is worth pointing out to the OCD massive.
As the name implies , it's a back cover , so don't bother with it if you want to protect your device from a drop. The leather smells good and feels good. The inner liner is a suede like material.
7 out of 10. For those that want minimilsm and comfort, not recommended for those that are vegan or want drop protection.

I am really satisfied with this case. I was using the original leather case from Samsung on my previous Note 10, but I have only had this case on my phone for a few weeks and I found the leather on two corners started to wear out. The version of this case for Note 20 Ultra seems to be more solid and still looks like new after using it for more than two months.

Same set up as me. Bronze N20U, black leather case. Mine definitely held up better than my previous set up. Blue Note 10 Plus with official Samsung red leather case. That case had so much wear in under two weeks that I returned it, Samsung gave me zero issues in doing so. It is actually the reason why I chose black this time around. Samsung definitely increased their quality.

The brown leather looks really good with the bronze N20U. The leather case was my favorite, a close second for me was the Pitaka case. I love a quality leather product, Samsung delivered just that. Has a nice texture inside and out and just the right amount of thickness.

I had this leather cover for about 2 months. Leather finish is very good, but I found it to be kind of losse on the bottom, especially on the left corner (near the stylus).
In fact, all the slim covers that I tried for Note 20 Ultra have this problem since on the left bottom corner are concentrated too many holes: stylus+speaker, resulting in poor grip area.
Right now I am settled at Spigen Thin Fit, which is very slim and provides excelent adherence to the phone due to TPU margins (new design).

Mine discolored terrible after about 2 months

Cool, but as the all formed models, all their accessories do not exist to buy.

Ionic GUARDIAN Case

I was looking for some cases on ebay/amazon/google and I stumbled upon the Icon Guardian Case:
*sorry can't post link due to my "status"
Has anyone had experience with this type of case. Its looks ackward but I like the enlarged corners, it reminds me of the ballistic series in a way. Might give this a shot until a true rugged case hits the market.
I found it on amazon and it has good reviews so far: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008TX9268/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8

The body glove is not bad, what Dioscorus meant was he paid $25 for the body glove and he could have bough a similar case on Amazon in the 'Icon Guardian ' that has a similar or perhaps superior function with aesthetics at half the cost.

You can purchase it and have it shipped to Canada. There store page shows that they ship to canada at almost double the shipping price though.

Actually, the flip offers 100% more screen side protection than this case. Side note, you thought the flip would offer anything more than that? It's pretty obvious when looking at it that it won't.
I decided I liked the front screen protection from the flip so much I purchased this to get The Best of Both Worlds
Back to the Ionic case... is it me, or does it look like polka dots?
I ordered it earlier this week, should have it next week. I'll review it once I get a couple of weeks under my belt.
My case arrived today and I'm impressed to say the least. It won't replace an Aegis or Ballistic, but will definitely hold you over and for some be just enough. I took a lot of pics and I'm going to upload shortly.

ok all, basically this is a very nice case that is worth much more than the ~$15 (including shipping in the US) that it actually costs. It fits really nicely and actually feels excellent. Very little bulk is added from this two piece case, while at the same time it adds pretty good protection around all areas except for the screen of course. it is raised around the screen edges, so that you can place the phone face down and not have it touching a flat surface...hopefully good for the dreaded face smack down.
my only semi-negative i could find is that the upper and lower edges on the front face side are not very tight. this is because the outer piece provides sturdiness around the entire device except for the upper and lower edge. the side edges of the inner gel piece are held sturdy due to the hard ridge of the outer cover.
nevertheless, i don't believe this is a big issue unless it becomes really weak and flimsy after prolonged use & wear (stay tuned). Despite that weakness, I also don't believe you will find yourself playing with it and even noticing that much. The case feels excellent in hand, sturdy, and gives you the feeling that it is protected.
As stated, very little bulk is added. In fact, it actually feels thinner than my Trident Aegis that fits on my GS2 Epic Touch. It feels just as sturdy as the Aegis, again except for that which is mentioned of the top and bottom edge. The Aegis eliminates this problem by extending the outer hard ridge up to the same area as it does with the sides. If the Ionic Guardian had this it would be on par with the Aegis (mind you that Trident has a newer design for the Aegis GN2 model, so I'm speaking about the previous model design). Also, there are no dust covers for the 3.5mm jack or the micro usb port. I'd like to see this on this design, but again that is something that Trident gets right and I don't know of other companies really doing the same other than Otterbox.
The case has corners that are very similar to the Ballistic SG design and is basically a copy cat, IMHO. I have never owned a Ballistic so I can't say if it is as sturdy or provides the same amount of protection. I also noticed that the upcoming Ballistic SG also doesn't have the outer case extending over the top and bottom sides or the inner gel. It also looks like they have shrunk the corners a bit as they don't look as pronounced. This may mean that the Ionic Guardian may just be a prototype of sorts of the upcoming Ballistic SG and therefore give you a very close idea of how that case will be. That all being said, I'm wondering how much protection the corners really add to this device. I'm not even tempted to test it out, which is a downside in and of itself, as with my Aegis for the GS2 I found myself bouncing it on stuff all the time with no thought of damage.
Also, remember this is a 2-Piece design. Both the gel and the hard outer shell make up a nice case, but the gel as a stand alone is thin and doesn't give you that confident feeling that you have from the gel from the Trident Aegis or other upper end combo style cases. The outer shell does feel sturdy and may be only a tad bit thinner than the Trident shell.
Overall, I give the Ionic Guardian Case a much deserved 8 out of 10. I'm only taking points away due to the designers not using the outer shell to add support for the gel's upper and bottom edges, and also that the gel itself could be .5mm thicker. That being said, this case is excellent for the price and IMHO it is high value protective case for the GN2, maybe the best available right now. I think the Otterbox Commuter, Trident Aegis, and Ballistic SG are all likely superior...but maybe not by much.
The other phone in the pics is my GS2 Epic Touch in a Trident Aegis Case.
check out the pics:
I also purchased this case and was a bit hesitant at first about the "polka dot" appearance. But once I got the case and put it on the Note II, all hesitations disappeared! Imho the side rockers are much easier to push with this case on. I must say, I can tell very little if any difference between the quality of this case compared to something like the Ballistic Shell Gel case I have on the gs3. Like mentioned above, the very top and bottom rubber is a bit flimsy, but really there isn't much device real estate available to firm it up much more. All ports and S-pen are easily accessed. For the $ of this case, I don't think you could go wrong. I bought it as a temporary case till the Ballistic or Otter comes out, but honestly I don't know if I want to fork out triple the green backs when this case seems to fit my needs just right.
If you're looking for something that doesn't add a lot of bulk, adds some nice grip and protection, check out this case. It's cheap and worthy in my opinion
I returned my Seidio because the soft rubber is not on very tight at the top and bottom edge. Looks like this one has the same problem. Going to try this $10 that has a hard shell that covers the sides, top, and bottom. Hopefully it will eliminate the short coming of the Sedio and Iconic. Also hopefully the rubber in this case won't be a lint magnet:
I've owned the Ionic Guardian Case for around 2 weeks now and I have had the Ballistic SG case for a week.
Here's the comparison:
Ionic Guardian Case
Pros:
-Great bang for buck
-Slim
-Good Build Quality
-Cut outs match almost perfectly
-Reinforced Corners
-Lay Flat feature
-Little pods in the back provide better grip
-Easy to remove
Cons:
-Silicon is somewhat frail, should be a tad thicker for better protection
-No port covers
-Silicon is not tight enough especially at the top and bottom
-Top and Bottom protection is almost non existent with the thinness of the silicon, phone will get damaged if dropped directly on its bottom surface or top surface.
Ballistic SG
Pros:
-Moderately Slim
-Good Build Quality
-Reinforced Corners
-Lay Flat feature
-Easy to remove
-Good side protection
-Very good drop protection if dropped on the back
Cons:
-Silicon is not "dense" enough especially compared to other models ex: iphone 5
--No port covers
-Silicon is not tight enough especially at the top and bottom
-Top and Bottom protection is almost non existent with the thinness of the silicon, phone will get damaged if dropped directly on its bottom surface or top surface
If you haven't noticed the Ionic is almost an exact duplicate of the SG case, here's how they compare to each other.
Build Quality: Ballistic wins but a small margin. It has a stronger silicon and thicker polycarbonate shell
Corner Protection: Ballistics corners are more dense and has less give.
Flat Screen Drop Protection: Ballistic would probably win due to its thicker corners and slightly higher edges on the front screen.
Back Screen Protection: Ballistic would win with its superior polycarbonate shell
Top Drop Protection: Neither because quite frankly, they both suck and would shatter on impact
Bottom Drop Protection: see above
Basically the Ionic is a poor man's Ballistic SG case. I bought my Ionic for $13 and my Ballistic for $26. If I had to choose again I would probably just buy the Ionic due to its moderate protection but if you have that extra money to fork over, they get the ballistic for slightly better build and protection. Overall I am disappointed that both cases couldn't deliver on the protection from the top and bottom, but other than that I feel safer than if the phone was naked.
Heres a breakdown of the pics:
1-7: Ballistic 1) Front 2) Back 3) Lay-Flat feature 4) Corner 5) Unimpressive bottom lip 6) Unimpressive top lip 7) Sides
8-14: Ionic 1) Front 2) Back 3) Lay-Flat feature 4) Corner 5) Unimpressive bottom lip 6) Unimpressive top lip 7) Sides
15-20: Comparison of 1) Fronts 2) Backs 3) Corners 4) Top 5) Bottom 6) Sides
Enjoy and Thank me if you found this helpful.

Did Anyone Get The Official Samsung Leather Case/Cover? How Does It Age?

So I'm about to replace my S6 Edge with an S7 Edge in Black Onyx. The only thing I hate about not having an iPhone is the general lack of good leather back covers.
Now obviously Samsung do an official leather cover for the S7/S7 Edge, and I've seen reviews Etc., but I can't find anything on how it holds up long-term.
Does the leather develop a nice patina like the official iPhone cases, or does it wear and start to peel like cheap PU leather cases? Would love to see some pics. Also I'd like the brown but I've heard it's more of a tan colour, does it darken with age, or is the black better for a black phone?
Aside from that if you've used it, do you recommend it as a long-term prospect? If not what did you end up using?
Thanks
I have the leather case for the S7E for about 9 Months now. Basically, it is damaged now, so last week I ordered a new case. The leather on the backside is okay (you see a few scratches but it is not bad). On the sides, the leather is pretty much gone, through the friction when I pull it out of my pocket it quite smooth now, so no leather feeling anymore.
Biggest problem is one corner, don't know how but it’s got a crack a few weeks ago. With the time, this crack got bigger and now the corner broken off.
But the protection was very well, dropped the phone a few times no damage on the phone at all (the crack do not come from one of the drops before someone asks)
All in all, I would not buy this case again, at least not for the price I paid back then.

Which Official Case is best for the Ultra?

I am upgrading from the Note 9 with the leather case, which ended up showing a lot of wear. I do like the pocket inside the front cover to carry my license. I see that Samsung is going to offer an S-view cover and a wallet case. Any thoughts on which would be best for the Note 20 Ultra?

With the extra $50 credit for accessories I ended up getting the Wallet case from Samsung for under $10. Reviews on the same version for the S20 Ultra were mixed, but the price was right for me.
For the past 3 or 4 years I have bought the official Samsung LED Case cover and quite honestly they have been brilliant. The one I have been using on my current phone (Note 10+) still looks as good as new after 12 months. The LED notifications are also really useful and make the case stand out (but not in a tacky blingy way)
They may not offer really robust protection, but I have dropped my phone a couple of times and not even the case got damaged. So as long as you aren't working on a building site or doing some kind of extreme activity I think you'll be just fine.
The only issue is they are crazy expensive.
.
I ended up using the $200 accessory benefit for the LED Wallet case along with the Beans. It arrives today so I'll be able to get a sense of the size of the phone in my hand. I had used that model case on my Note 8 and thought it worked well.

Just a hair taller then note 10 plus but not much at all!
The LED wallet case came today. Same width as the Note 9 Samsung leather wallet case and less than 1/4 inch taller. Could be just a little thinner than the Note 9 case. When I had the Samsung LED case on my note 8 I opened the phone far fewer times since I could see who was calling on the front of the case.
I always get the black Samsung Rugged cases. Note 10+ version had some paint scuffing issues on the kickstand but I love those cases, and it appears that the camera will be flush with the back from looking at it. I guess I'll have to see for sure when I get the phone. I don't want a case with the camera bulging out of the back.

I've used the OEM LED Wallet case for a week now and am pleased with the protection. While it is expensive, consider that since the front flap protects the screen, you can go with just a film screen protector instead of a substantially more expensive glass protector. I never had a cracked screen when using past Sammy wallet cases on my Note 8 or Note 9. I tend to carry my phones in a holster attached to my belt, so it is going in and out of the holster many times a day.

I would like to use more cover cases because I like the idea of having the display covered when not in use but I keep thinking about the awkward use whilst trying to take pictures or record videos and having that flap just hanging like that.
I wonder if anyone's made a cover case with a camera cutout for this phone? This way you can fold the cover all the way over and still have the camera cleared to shoot? I wouldn't mind having that area for the camera open on the front for the display. I'd still have most of the front display covered.
I don't know.

JJNUSA leather case

you know i never thought trying to find a case was going to leave me so hard pressed. note i do not mind the camera bump one bit. but they could have rounded out the camera hump a bit more. not the corners, but where the surface meets the edges and also they could have slanted the sides a bit more angled. who knows they did pull it off pretty good.
still on the camera bump.
note: with JJNUSA leather case you will be covering the mic on the camera bump. if that is a problem for you look elsewhere for a case.
i have received 200 in incentives to order goodies when i got my phone pre ordered and used it to order a few cases.
cases i ordered:
samsung rugged: bulky, heavy, don't like the texture on the back and flimsy kickstands that shoot off when used
samsung leather case: upgrade from last years, 2g lighter. seamless, but warps at the bottom. good cam protection.
samsun silicon: unsure if food grade safe. and slippery as glass
-other cases-
spigen Rugged Armor: oddly best all tpu case with carbon fiber accents. the back is slippery if trying to reach across the screen. side bumpers have one way slip grip and flimsy. camera is well protected. pen cut out too deep corner exposed but covered. top /bottom bumper good but top may block ear piece. 2g heavier then jjnusa leather
...now my official review of the JJNUSA Handmade Leather Case...
NOTE i used amazon prime
don't let the first pic they have on amazon throw you off, but what bothers me is the video they added to the product and it is of the s20 ultra; the camera lens is so scratched. i am still baffled how they did that. then again we will see in due time, because i can not stand the samsung leather case(which got me hooked on leather cases oddly) it is too slippery. the jjnusa case has tpu sides and saddle leather on back with plastic on the inside that the phone rests on. but i will say the leather on the back is so soft i think it sorta makes up for the lack of suede like the official samsung case has. then again the leather is so thick its' edges pop out the mold a teensy-weensy bit, but i doubt with proper use and not picking at it it will survive for a long time. with the 5% off coupon i also got another 1 usd off(who knows if it was the amazon prime). so for 19.95 it is a steal. most other leather cases are $30+. a steal; why may you say? hold on let me get to the rest of it. if we all remember the lg g4 leather back it was a looker. that was it, because it scratched easily and punctured easily. then we go onto the samsung leather case that scratches easily with minimal show. further more i can not say what that will mean over long term usage with this case from jjnusa. treat it lightly and it should be fine. now back to the leather on the jjnusa case. the leather reminds me of the type you get on a saddle and does not separate from itself. that is a plus. but a minus if the antiquing they use comes off very very easily?, and it does(con or not?) i had a cane that had antiquing and it turned my hands black, but after it leveled out it was fine. you know they always slap so much on to fill in the design that almost certainly more then half they put on will rub off. i have rubbed off some already. hence it would not rub off like wow, i had to use my nail. no way does it show like scratches on the samsung leather case. either way the extra antiquing will no matter what fade away over time and settle down to where it should be. i still think it will look good. at the same time the leather is much more scratch resistant then the latter. and the design and the look really grew on me. now on to the sides. the power button and volume are labeled with symbols and i like it even though i will never look at it. what else i like is that they are tpu like the rest of the sides. the tactile of the buttons are sturdy then again not too stiff not too mushy. then there is a bonus or an achilles heal; you move down the same side as the buttons and find a wrist strap punch out so you can add a wrist strap. have not tested it, seems like it should be worthy of use and not fearing. the bonus is removing the phone from the case, it does not shoot out like it does with the samsung leather case does. still it holds it in better. this is where i tell you that the jjnusa case has way better screen protection that leaves a better feel in the hand. the samsung leather case has a squidgy spongy top and bottom. the bottom is already warped and i never used it; i just put it on a few times and took it off. also a fail for the bottom bumper is the difficulty to remove the spen without nails. the jjnusa case is cut out just right and since it is thinner and more stiffer in a good way you can press your thumb or finger and hear that satisfying click to eject it. with that said the top and bottom bumper are raised higher then the samsung to protect the screen. the samsung case is more flush and flimsy.
i am a happy camper and if it fairs well i will update to 5 stars from 4, but i am really thinking at the price to slap down for another. as we all know leather cases do not last as long as other types
the reason i gave it 4 stars is i never really heard of JJNUSA till i saw them on etsy.com and since they where based in china i thought meh. then i thought to ebay's third party cases and said but leather? does not smell much like leather, oddly that is how saddles with the same type of leather smells. or it could be the antiquing they used and the shipping package. it was not shipped in a box or cheap plastic, it was in a cloth sleeve in a sealed padded envelope. JJNUSA do claim Oregon origins... yeah right etsy.com says ships from china.
i have played around with plenty of cases and phones in cases so it's not like i only have really had the note 20 ultra... just do not get one of them ultra thin all tpu cases. i have one for my lg g4 and only really protects the sides and back. busted the screen.

I just bought the official Samsung leather case, it looks classy, it's well made and smells amazing too! I went for the black one for my mystic bronze phone as I really didn't like the tan coloured one. It's lightweight, feels lovely to hold and does not make the phone bulky. Obviously protection is quite limited, I tend to use this case at home and transfer to a flip case when I am out and about.
The rugged one is quite the opposite, it's heavy, bulky and not very attractive but it will offer the best protection.
So depending on your usage you will have to make a decision based on looks vs protection.

best thin case note 20 ultra with grip

I find most cases get slippery on the sides.
I had speck in the past but it was OK any others that you recommend thanks
From what I've seen so far:
1. Spigen Liquid Air - Seems to have some good grip potential, especially with ridges on the sides. However, the gap around the camera bump is an interesting design choice...
2. Samsung OEM Matte Black Silicone Case - Seems to have a decent grip on the matte finish and very minimal.
3. Pitaka Air or MagEZ Case - While I haven't used them myself, I've heard good things about the grip/feel of the Ipitaka cases.
I'm personally going to try the PItaka MagEZ case when it becomes available (Aug 21st) since I like the idea of having embedded metal so I don't have to stick a scosche metal piece on the back of the case.
Also, just a heads up. According to some initial reviews on the new speck 'grip' cases, they're using a more plastic-feeling material for grips instead of rubberized and people are not happy about it. (I previously used them as well)
I switch phones often, but one thing that remains constant is my Pitaka MagEZ cases. Have purchased well over 10 of them at this point. Wouldn't choose any other thin case

The "Air" series cases generally don't rise above the screen.
They do have a thicker "Pro" series option with a raised lip to protect the screen, bumpers on the corners, etc.

Yes I've seen the one the only concern I've read it's a little difficult to remove the spen.. Your thoughts.
I will never choose Pitaka again.
Edges are rough and the upper part could have covered more
But I especially won't because it damaged my Note 10+ because of a defect in the inside of the case that made a grain of sand sized hole in the back of my phone.
Been using the Zizo Bolt on my Note 10+ for over 6 months. Excellent grip, usability and protection.
Kick stand doubles as a grip; either fully retract/extend it to keep from losing it's pins, if not secured in either position they can work their way out in your pocket! No issues with this case otherwise.
The one for the 20 seems to come with a temper glass screen protector; that may not work so well.
That's not present on the one for the 10.
Presumably you can use it without and substitute one one your choice?
Damn the 20's cam has a big bullseye on it... no likey. Buying a good case for the 10+ was very hard early on, no doubt the 20 U will be harder to protect

you know i never thought trying to find a case was going to leave me so hard pressed. note i do not mind the camera bump one bit. but they could have rounded out the camera hump a bit more. not the corners, but where the surface meets the edges and also they could have slanted the sides a bit more angled. who knows they did pull it off pretty good.
still on the camera bump.
note: with JJNUSA leather case you will be covering the mic on the camera bump. if that is a problem for you look elsewhere for a case.
i have received 200 in incentives to order goodies when i got my phone pre ordered and used it to order a few cases.
cases i ordered:
samsung rugged: bulky, heavy, don't like the texture on the back and flimsy kickstands that shoot off when used
samsung leather case: upgrade from last years, 2g lighter. seamless, but warps at the bottom. good cam protection.
samsun silicon: unsure if food grade safe. and slippery as glass
2g heavier then jjnusa leather

don't let the first pic they have on amazon throw you off, but what bothers me is the video they added to the product and it is of the s20 ultra; the camera lens is so scratched. i am still baffled how they did that. then again we will see in due time, because i can not stand the samsung leather case(which got me hooked on leather cases oddly) it is too slippery. the jjnusa case has tpu sides and saddle leather on back with plastic on the inside that the phone rests on. but i will say the leather on the back is so soft i think it sorta makes up for the lack of suede like the official samsung case has. then again the leather is so thick its' edges pop out the mold a teensy-weensy bit, but i doubt with proper use and not picking at it it will survive for a long time. with the 5% off coupon i also got another 1 usd off(who knows if it was the amazon prime). so for 19.95 it is a steal. most other leather cases are $30+. a steal; why may you say? hold on let me get to the rest of it. if we all remember the lg g4 leather back it was a looker. that was it, because it scratched easily and punctured easily. then we go onto the samsung leather case that scratches easily with minimal show. further more i can not say what that will mean over long term usage with this case from jjnusa. treat it lightly and it should be fine. now back to the leather on the jjnusa case. the leather reminds me of the type you get on a saddle and does not separate from itself. that is a plus. but a minus if the antiquing they use comes off very very easily?, and it does(con or not?) i had a cane that had antiquing and it turned my hands black, but after it leveled out it was fine. you know they always slap so much on to fill in the design that almost certainly more then half they put on will rub off. i have rubbed off some already. hence it would not rub off like wow, i had to use my nail. no way does it show like scratches on the samsung leather case. either way the extra antiquing will no matter what fade away over time and settle down to where it should be. i still think it will look good. at the same time the leather is much more scratch resistant then the latter. and the design and the look really grew on me. now on to the sides. the power button and volume are labeled with symbols and i like it even though i will never look at it. what else i like is that they are tpu like the rest of the sides. the tactile of the buttons are sturdy then again not too stiff not too mushy. then there is a bonus or an achilles heal; you move down the same side as the buttons and find a wrist strap punch out so you can add a wrist strap. have not tested it, seems like it should be worthy of use and not fearing. the bonus is removing the phone from the case, it does not shoot out like it does with the samsung leather case does. still it holds it in better. this is where i tell you that the jjnusa case has way better screen protection that leaves a better feel in the hand. the samsung leather case has a squidgy spongy top and bottom. the bottom is already warped and i never used it; i just put it on a few times and took it off. also a fail for the bottom bumper is the difficulty to remove the spen without nails. the jjnusa case is cut out just right and since it is thinner and more stiffer in a good way you can press your thumb or finger and hear that satisfying click to eject it. with that said the top and bottom bumper are raised higher then the samsung to protect the screen. the samsung case is more flush and flimsy.
i am a happy camper and if it fairs well i will update to 5 stars from 4, but i am really thinking at the price to slap down for another. as we all know leather cases do not last as long as other types
the reason i gave it 4 stars is i never really heard of JJNUSA till i saw them on etsy.com and since they where based in china i thought meh. then i thought to ebay's third party cases and said but leather? does not smell much like leather, oddly that is how saddles with the same type of leather smells. or it could be the antiquing they used and the shipping package. it was not shipped in a box or cheap plastic, it was in a cloth sleeve in a sealed padded envelope.

I have already dropped it having it about 3.6 feet drop going swap when it landed on its' back side. my heart sunk, but the case did its' work and saved it. a plus for the case. it was not dropped it was knocked down from a propped up position onto a hard wood flooring
