I had the notifications issue after installing downgrading to 131 and installing googlefier.
Did this to fix, then upgraded to 181. All working good.

What about push notifications?

Have not seen a fix for that one thought some people managed to get it working messing with GFS
(stopped) or using another app called BlueMail, I just use the email app that came with the phone.

I had P40 Pro with working GMS and freezed GSF with working push notifications (outlook, whatsapp, etc.) for a few months.
Last week I left GSF unfreezed over night and then next morning I started having continuous 'device not certified' notifications. So I tried this thread's fix and the continuous 'device not certified' notifications disappeared.
Now everything seems to be back to normal besides previously worked push notifications doesn't work anymore or work just randomly. Any ideas how to to fix the notifications?

all notifications should work fine except from google services, there is a new post here about how to get those fixed, try that.

My experience is that this thread's fix (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fix-for-the-google-play-certification-notifications.4209027/) resets GSF id.
It seems to be so that apps which were installed with the old GSF id lose their working push notifications with the new GSF id. I got this fixed by uninstalling eg. Whatsapp and Outlook, and then installing them fresh from Playstore (with the new GSF id).
I tried also the other thread's fix (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...without-freezing-gsf.4213065/#post-84230865); But I did not wait for days and the fix seemed to work quite right away. But right after running Google sync the continuous 'device not certified' notifications appeared again. So then I returned to this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fix-for-the-google-play-certification-notifications.4209027/) and got a new working GSF id again.

Notification problems

Hello,
I have a note 2 running the beans 4.3 rom that came out a few weeks ago. The watch was working great with my note 2 as soon as I got that rom. Ever since the last update, when i get a notification on the phone and view it with the watch it sometimes stays on the phone as unread. Also, it will not count as "read" on the watch. I will have 43 notifications, even though I clicked and viewed each text message as it came in.
Any idea why after the last update the notifications are not working right? Pretty pointless to have to go through the watch to delete every message I had that day every night.
It broke for me too on the first update to Gear Manager after I updated to the Euro MK7 rom. It's been driving me crazy. When I first put MK7 on it was working perfect until the next update of GM. Now none of the notifications will clear automatically, for any app.

This is worse than I thought -- I installed an app (EasilyDo) whose notification didn't clear. I decided I didn't like/want the app anyway, and uninstalled it. However, its notification is still there! Reboots of phone and watch haven't gotten rid of it. Holy moly. I imagine I'd have to reset the Gear, but if anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears.

No one seems to have an answer to this...
I have reset the gear and reconfigured everything. Same problem.
If i get a text message and read it on the gear, it correctly labels the message as read on phone (working)
If i get a text message and decided to read it on the phone, it still shows as unread on the gear. At the end of every day I have over 100 text messages and 100 emails to manually delete from the watch.
This has rendered the watch pointless...
Does anyone have any ideas?:crying:
This morning's Gear Manager update seems to have fixed some of it. Email notifications have been clearing for me when I delete the email at least. I still have a stuck "Missed Call", and I don't think it cleared a G+ notification, or maybe I didn't give it enough time. Anyway, it looks to be a step forward.

Unfortunately, I've not gotten the update yet. I did reset my Gear last night and reinstalled Gear Manager. That cleared the uninstalled app still sitting resident in Notifications. Not the Gmail problem, though. That's the only email notification problem I have -- my work email (thank jeebus), Outlook, and a couple of Yahoo based accounts all work flawlessly.

I haven't gotten it either. In fact, I have no idea how one gets it -- automatic? notification? Although you can check for a Gear update in Gear Manager, there's no place (that I can see) to check for a Gear Manager update.
I just went into Samsung Apps, wait a moment, hit Menu, then Purchased. It tells you if you have apps to update.

Yeah, I finally got it from the Samsung Apps app. I'd been stupidly going into Samsung Apps from the Gear Manager menu, not finding Gear Manager at all, when the fog in my brain cleared and I realized that's only for looking for Gear apps. In any event, Gmail notifications finally now work fine.

[Q] Push Notifications not working well?

Hey guys, so I just got the S5 a couple of days ago and I love it. However, I'm having some problems with the push notifications of certain apps not coming through, yet they do easily on my Nexus 7. They weren't a problem on my Nexus 5, but I have no idea why it's not working properly on a brand new phone like the S5. Each of the apps, like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to name a few, are all listed to push notifications and they're set in the main Android settings, so I have no idea. Anyone else have the same kind of issues like me?
To note, I've already factory resetted my phone several times, cleaned out the data, caches, etc and still no use. I am rooted though, but I doubt that should make a huge difference, right? And right now, I'm not using Xposed framework, but before when I first noticed the issues, I was. Thanks in advance!
Taking a longshot here...but have you updated that Samsung Push Service app through the Play Store (and all other apps for that matter)?

if you used Titatium backup to restore any apps that use push, that could be your issue. I restored facebook, instagram , snapchat etc and the push never works when i restore, you need to clear the app out, and just login new for each push app.

Yeah, I did that initially, but that was the first time I got the phone. Now, I've been clearing out the caches and data for each app, uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Play Store, but still some of the apps don't have the push capability unless I was just in the app or still in it. Some of my problem apps are GroupMe, Snapchat and Instagram. When I had my Nexus 5, that wasn't the issue at all.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Check out TB Restore Fixer on the app store. I noticed that when I did Titanium Backup restore, some of my apps were not working correctly and I couldn't reach certain parts of my storage, etc. After I ran it, it seemed to have straightened everything out. (Requires root, of course)
Hope this fixes your problems!
Same problem
I first started having this issue a week ago. I checked all the setting, factory reset, and I ended up switching out the Galaxy 5 through Sprint yesterday. E-mails and FB messenger app was working on data while I was driving home and I thought the problem was fixed. I reinstalled all the apps I was using and over night let the phone charge. When I woke up this morning I noticed two of the folders I made were removed and a widget for S Health replaced the folders spot. Thinking nothing of it I removed the widget and made it to work this morning to find out I had 3 e-mails waiting, a notification on facebook, and another message through FB messenger that did not come through this morning. I am receieving notifications if im on wifi but not through the data now and this is a new phone. I think this may have something to the 4.4.4 release but this is bugging me. Any new suggestions?
I have seen issues with sprint where phone calls are fine but data wont work in certain areas of the city unless you turn data roaming on it apears that the signals are ok for voice but not for data in thoes areas
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Data roaming is checked on, I did go in today and saw a roaming guard on data and turned it off but nothing yet. It's been two months and my push notifications are still not working. Figure I'd come here and bump again.
Im having same issue looks like no one has a solution for this... I get all my notifications while im on wifi but soon as im on data i stop getting some notifications. Very frustrating.

[Q] New to the watch Undid installation of Maps

Yesterday I received my watch and as it updated I was informed that Maps was installed, at the same time a FB notification arrived so I swiped away tapping undo.
Under the rather stupid belief I was getting rid of the FB notification I let it go. Now I can't find Maps on my watch and I believe I may have removed the installation of Maps from my watch.
Is there anyway to reinstall Maps on my watch?
Thank you

I had a problem with maps since update, from not working at all to being gone on watch, what helped in the end was a reset of watch, deleting maps data on the phone, uninstalling updates of maps, and then reinstalling, then resyncing apps to watch again.
But to be fair I don't know if any of these steps had anything to do with maps reapearing and starting to work again.
maybe you just blocked maps app notifications, check in on android wear app, I don't know...

Play Store downloads/updates stuck at 99%

I'm using a Note9 that's only a month old. The last 2 days, any app updates or new apps I'm trying to download get stuck at 99% (sometimes 100%). Things I've tried so far:
* Resetting the Play Store to default and deleting data/cache
* Wiping the cache of the whole phone
* Disabling the Google app (per suggestions I found elsewhere)
* Uninstalling Nova Launcher (per suggestions)
* Wiping the cache/data of the Download Manager
It's driving me up the wall. No idea what to try. Any advice?
This is the same issues I've been having, especially since updating to Android Pie. Only small fix I found was just closing all apps and run Device Care on a download, then it worked. I don't know if this is an actual fix though.
Are you using any package blockers or anything disabled via adb? If yes one app too many was blocked

I am not.
I've ran into this problem but only when having a unstable Wi-Fi connection. Specifically a bad power supply on the router.
And a lot of business wifi like in hospitals and stuff they have blocking software to keep the employees from watching movies and game of thrones and things like!
Photo's[emoji2398] by Sully using SM-N960U or SM-870A
So, no one has found a solution to the stuck-at-99% download problem for Google Play Store?

Only Google.
I'm experiencing this problem as well (Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). This started happening 2 days ago.
Also, another strange thing is happening: The Blue light filter, and Digital Wellbeing grayscale filter, are not starting/stopping at the correct times, they are delayed (sometimes by hours).
The worst part is, my previous phone (Galaxy Note 8) had the exact same issue(s). I endured it for a long time. I was excited to ditch the Note 8 for a phone that worked... Oh well
I generated a debug log, and I'm combing through it now. I don't understand everything I'm looking at.
Here are some attempted fixes, that did _not_ fix the issue on the Note 8:
* Clearing the Google Play store and services caches.
* Removing my Google account, then signing back in.
* Factory reset, then reinstalling everything from scratch. (The issue started happening again, within 1 day.)

Thanks for your response. I just tried this, disabled the Google Play app, then restarted the device. I re-enabled Google Play, unfortunately the issue is not fixed. I'm looking at my 13 pending updates, the first one (Nova Launcher) is stuck at 100%, and is not moving/updating at all.

Thank you very much!
I double-checked that apps were unable to update (Netflix was stuck at "77%"). I disabled the Google app, and restarted the phone. I left Google disabled.
... Netflix took longer to update (it stalled at "77%" again), but it did finish successfully. Now the other apps are downloading and installing! Nice. Hopefully this is a permanent (or at least reproducible) solution to the issue.
Do you know *why* the Google app would be interfering with app updates? I'm genuinely curious.

Did you find out what was causing this issue? I have had to disable my "google" app to allow updates. Are you using a s8 ? We should compare apps to see if something we have in common is causing this issue.

Yes i disabled it, but that must be related to another issue. my girlfriend has the same s8 and no issues. Must be related to multiple google accounts or something that differs from my phone to hers.
Perhaps fully off-topic or just the solution, did you disable or remove Chrome? I know my Note 9 shows similar behaviour when I debloat and remove Chrome. Once I updated the WebView app all runs fine. So I always update WebView before anything else. But then again I only notice this behaviour once I remove or disable Chrome browser.

Question Google play doesn't work after update

Hi everybody,
following an update of my smartphone today via OTA, google play and youtube no longer works. Do you have any idea where it might come from?
FYI, a few weeks ago I deactivated a good number of applications via ADB but I had no problem so far.
Hi tomtom34,
Have you tried setting your timezone and date manually? Sometimes this can help. I just got the update but have not encountered any issues yet.

I've noticed this too! I had to put back com.vivo.pem for it to work, but it seems to work if you do manual sync of google account, clear google play cache, reboot 2 times then open google play and wait a few moments, then it springs back into life and with com.vivo.pem disabled (the way we like it).
Strange, I know, happened again today after another nighly update.

Google seems to have settled down but since updating to OceanOs notifications are much worse. I had working before (not perfectly) WhatsApp and FB Msg notifications but it seems even with pem removed, app permissions set and batt optimisation for apps set it is still deciding to close apps.
Perhaps it's iManager? (We cant disable that now) or whatever app tells us it's closed this.. or blocked pop-ups from that.. But I feel that is prob iManager.
Is there a specific reason vivo app should be removed?

Notifications working ok now, I had not realised the basic notification setting in the app(s) were set to none (No chat notification at all) So many settings.... anyway, wasn't an OceanOS issue.

Okay, thank you for the info. Google apps (and notifications) have been working for me since the last disabling of PEM, but i haven't dared to restart the phone since then...
Did you ever experienced google disconnection after firmware update: I mean after an official update (2 in this month) Google Play Services seem to "freeze" (no notifications from apps) and if I try to disconnect my Google account I cannot login again for a variable period of time (Google server unreachable).
