How to get notification without freezing GSF - Huawei P40 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Below is a third version of the guide (ok, it's 3.5). As of January, 15th I've added great finding by @Seresseran1. Thanks man!
The below guide will provide you with fully working Google services, play store will work, push notifications will work, location accuracy etc. Everything will work until you restart the phone without enabling flight mode first. Then you might start receiving play protect notifications and you have to redo the procedure.
Prerequisite : GMS has to be installed and fully working without play protect notifications. Any method of installation should be OK, i prefer manual but Googlifier is fine.
1a. Run following commands using ADB:
adb shell
cmd appops set com.google.android.gsf RUN_IN_BACKGROUND ignore
cmd appops set com.google.android.gsf RUN_ANY_IN_BACKGROUND ignore
cmd appops write-settings
1b. Open Settings - Apps - App Launch
Tap the three dots, select "Show system Processes".
Search For Google Services Framework.
Change from Manage Automatically- To Manage Manually. Deselect Options "Auto-launch" and "Run in background". Only secondary launch remains selected.
2. Put phone in airplane mode. It's very important!
3. Open Settings, go to Apps, Apps, tap three dots, select Show system processes, find Google Services Framework. Open it.
4. If you have frozen Gsf defrost it (enable).
5. Stop it if it's running. Go to Storage, clear cache, clear data. Stop it again if necessary.
6. Restart the phone.
7. Do not disable airplane mode yet! Wait few minutes in airplane mode or check with Device ID app if you see your GSF ID.
8. Disable airplane mode and check play store. If you see error message, close it from task list and try again.
If you restart the phone without enabling airplane mode first all you have to do is redo above guide starting from point 2.
If you see play protect notifications do not panic! Enable airplane mode, go to settings, apps, apps, find Google framework services, goto storage, stop it, clear cache, clear data, restart your phone then you should be good.
I do not use Google apps except maps, but they should work. Remember that using above guide does not mean your device will get play protect certification. So, Google pay will not work for sure.

Nice it works. Playstore and all push Notification works whiteout problems. Thanks man

1. Install device ID app to get Google service id. Copy it. If you have frozen gsf, defrost it to get ID.
2. Register gsf id on https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/
3. Freeze GSF and make sure your apps are having notifications. You can use push notification tester to check if push is supported and fully working.
4. Wait. At least a day or two.
5. Put phone in airplane mode. It's very important!
6. Defrost GSF. Wait few minutes in airplane mode. Do not restart phone.
7. Disable airplane mode and check play store. If you see error message, close it from tak list and try again.

So far tested on two different p40 pro and mate 30 pro. All three devices working great

Nice, just waited like 6 hours and my gmail just took 2 minutes to notify me, thank you!!
Edit: sometimes they still take a while, so its better but definately still not working as it should

What you mean with "sometimes they still take a while"? If push notifications work, they work like should in theory.

I waited 6 hours but i have always this error:

Did you see, that your Device is registered for Google Play Protect? For me, there is no About Option at Playstore Settings.

I am trying on Mate 30 Pro. (Waiting for 1 or 2 days)
Thank you for sharing.
I will share in here if i can success

Slightly edited OP. Looks like sometimes you have to wait just an hour or two and it's enough.
In worst case scenario you will get play protect notifications; then you have to clear cache, data, freeze gsf and wait bit longer. When you freeze gsf all your apps will still have push notifications, only playstore will not work (and google location accuracy0.

Hi all,
Can you confirm that it works more than 8 hours and even after reboot? Cause there was an option before that was working only for 8 hours or till next update.
P.S. can you also confirm that GSF ID stays the same? Because after I defrost it, it is same as registered. Once I reboot, it changes different value and I start getting errors.

[WIP] No Call Sound, block Auto-Update Play Services

this thread is regarding the recent loss of phone call audio due to updates to Google Play Services
investigating potential workarounds to prevent auto update of play services without breaking every google app.
EDIT: this is for rooted users.. if your not familiar with this stuff, please wait till someone can validate this one way or another,
UPDATE: Confirmed that Google Play Services version 6.1.88 works for this fix. Version 6.5+ is directly responsible for loss of audio.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google.../google-play-services-6-1-88-1557022-034-apk/
Steps to confimed fix:
1. revert to functional version of Play Services (see apkmirror link above, from backup if available)
2. In App details or Titanium Backup etc. , wipe data + cache for Play Services.
3. Reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik + cache
6. Freeze Play Store , Play Services will remain @ old version, and phone audio will be fixed.
this will retain existing gapps functionality, but we'll have to sacrifice Play Store access for now.
Unconfirm WIP stuff:
in play store database, there seems to be an auto_update field. Using sql editor, we can try updating this value to 0. appstate table is in data/data/com.android.vending/databases/localappstate.db
2. set value to 0 in table above for auto update
4. (DO NOT wipe data for Play Store, we need that sql edit to stick)

Nice find. When I was having the issue like crazy yesterday I tried so many things, then just toggling GPS (location service) off and it worked. So for those removing Play store and such try just disabling GPS after clearing Google services cache and then reboot. After the phone has been fully booted re-enable GPS and all is working ok.
Has this hack been working for those who have tried it?
Ok, i am follow your instruction and trying this solution..hopefully it works.will feedback soon =)
The GPS thing didn't work for me. The only thing that works is freezing Google play services and rebooting.
Would taking 'google services framework' or some app from an m7 which doesn't have this issue and flashing it on our phones work?
I've just resorted to occasionally clearing 'google services framework' and restarting. I've found thats the fastest way without freezing anything.
Update: installed the 'HTC service pack' from the store (without going back to stock) and rebooted, but it solved nothing. HTC service pack doesn't work. It seems like HTC is doing something about it as the service pack was even updated just today.

Working fix
Just to confirm, this fix works.
I followed the instructions from the first post (changed the entry auto update entry from 1 to 0, wiped data and cache of google play services, rebooted), and I can confirm that calls are working. I even toggled location reporting a few times which reproduced the issue before and calls are working.
I've been hung up on this issue for a couple of days now and short of flashing the new 5.0.1 ROM, this is the only fix working for me. I really doubt that the issue is in any way related to the latest HTC updates..
I'm using ViperOne 7.0.1 with ElementalX-m7-18.0-Sense kernel.

Thanks, so I have changed that rows auto_update value to 0, reset cache and data of google play services and restarted my phone but am still experiencing the same issue.
PS I have not reverted to any previous version of anything, still running firmware 6.09.401.5 and google play services 6.5.87 (1599771-038)
Should I find an older version of google play services?
PS. what is the last known "good" version of google play services?

Yes, the fix persists through multiple reboots. I give the device 5 minutes after each reboot and issue a call. Works fine.

I did not install any version manually, just wiped cache and data.. As far as I know, I'm running the "latest" version for this ROM. Here are the exact versions as seen in Titanium Backup.
Google Play services v6.5.87 (1599771-038)
Google Play Store v5.0.38
Google Services Framework 4.4.4-1227136
I'm having problems same as everyone else. Running Viper One 7.0.1 with Elemental X m7 18.0
Google Play services 6.5.87 and Play Store 5.0.38
Tried several things suggested on Viper forum with no luck. Restored backup from November 27th and when Play Store asked for permission to run I"Declined". Have for several hours now made many calls and received many calls with no problems. Before doing this I noticed that pressing call there was a lag or delay initiating the call. I can't work without phone but can live without Play Store for now.
Well, 22 hours later and still have a working phone that I can make and receive calls on without any problems.

About how long have you had this success for?
I saw that on my phone (which has not done the fix you are doing), there will be a certain amount of time where the calls will not be able to work (after a reboot and data wipe of 'google services framerwork'). Maybe less than an hour.

Yes, it can be time related. I played a little with reproducing the issue after wiping data and cache earlier today (before the fix). For now it's working for about 4.5 hours and a dozen of reboots, with no issues. I will report back if calls fail again.

How to guide: Enable 'ok Google' to work from ANY screen

This guide will work on both the HD 7 and HD 8. **EDIT, NOTE:** It will probably be better to make sure you have all the core Google Apps and services updated to the latest versions BEFORE you start this guide. Please see this post before you start the guide.
First download and install the Google App, which is required. Also download and install Gboard (this is only required for voice typing).
From the Google app , tap the three bars at the upper left > settings > voice. Set your default language, set speech output to on and download an offline speech set. Then tap 'ok Google' detection and switch ON 'from the Google app'. You can try to turn on 'from any screen', but you won't be able to...yet. Now open the Gboard app and tap voice typing. Select your languages and decide if you don't like bad words. Then go to settings > keyboard and languages > show/hide keyboards > make sure Google voice typing is set to automatic. Now swipe everything closed.
1) Now you need to download and install Activity Launcher. Open it and tap the three bars at the top left and select 'all activities.'
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2) Scroll down until you see settings. Tap it and scroll until you see 'voice input'. Then tap it.
3) After tapping 'voice input' a screen will pop up with two settings; 'Basic Google recognition' and 'Enhanced Google services.' You need to select 'Enhanced Google services.'
4) When you completed that, stay on that screen and tap the gear to the right of Enhanced Services. Now it brings you back into the voice settings screen.
5) Tap the 'ok Google' detection. Now tap 'from any screen.' Another screen will come up which will allow you to train the Google App with your own voice. Tap next at the bottom right.
6) Now all you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions. You''ll be asked to say 'ok Google' three times. It's best to be in a quiet area so your microphone doesn't record any weird sounds, aside from your voice.
If you use Nova Launcher, go into Nova Settings > gestures and input > and turn on 'ok Google' hot word. Now you should be able to do a voice Google search from ANY screen on your tablet...except the lock screen The app will detect your voice, but the screen has to be unlocked unfortunately. You should also download Google text-to-speech as well. Though you will have to access it using Activity Launcher which will allow you to create a shortcut to it. First you need to bind 'appwidget' to your custom launcher using the steps here. Once you've done that, go into Activity Launcher > all activities > scroll to Google text-to-speech and tap it. Then tap on 'Google TTS voice data' to select your languages. When done, long press on that same item and create shortcut. Yay you're done
I rebooted to recovery, wiped cache, powered down and powered back on. I had to go back into Activity Launcher and re-select 'Enhanced Google services.' This might be due to Amazon apps: SpeechInteractionManager or SpeechUI. Maybe both, but I haven't tried to uninstall them yet because I'm not ready for a reset. If someone could kindly test this for me?
I cannot uninstall or disable Amazon's text-to-speech as it's inside settings and not an APK/package, unless I missed it.

Nah. I've had that long disabled. But perhaps that's right. Perhaps all this needs to be done prior to uninstalling the Amazon/IOVANA apps and services.
You can go here to download the Google Assistant launcher shortcut. Though it's missing a tab called 'your stuff.' So this might be fixed by downgrading to an older version of the Google app. Somehow you have to be able to set a reminder with that missing tab, which would add the Google Assistant in the settings menu of the Google App and supposedly fix this issue. I haven't been able to get that to work, even when launching the Assistant app > productivity > reminders.
Also, some of the stuff I read says to try and keep the Google app ALWAYS on. I have white listed it in my 3rd party optimizer app. Also, it won't hurt to install the Nova Google Companion, which allows the Google App aka Google Now to be integrated into Nova Launcher. This should force the Google app to stay open/running.
I think I got it, but I don't really like it. I had a sneaky suspicion this would end up being the case. *sigh*
Before the I get to the 'bad' news, Please make sure ALL Google related Apps, Play Store, Google Play Services, and Google App are ALL updated to the latest stable versions. You will have to install each update manually. Use App Inspector to check the version numbers of all of the below packages. If you have the latest updates, you're good to go.
Google Play Services: Version 11.5.09 (240-164803921)
Google Play Store: Version 8.1.73.S-all [0] [FP] 165518514
Google App: Version 7.9.21.21.arm
Google Assistant launcher shortcut: Version 1.0.4
Nova Google Companion: Version 1.1 (Make sure to turn on 'ok Google' in Nova settings > Gestures and Inputs).
Once you've done that, you should reboot. When your tablet is powered back on, you should do a walk through of all the steps in the OP. If you want to start at step 3, you can use Activity Launcher to create a shortcut for 'voice input'. Make sure to select 'Enhanced Google Services' then tap the gear to the right of it. If the 'from any screen' is in the off position, switch it back on and go through the steps to retrain your voice.
Now for the bad news. The only way I was able to get all this to work, it is a MUST to download and install Google Home :crying::crying::crying: I'm not a fan of Google Home. As of the moment, aside from this guide, it's really quite useless for me. Don't bother trying to get your devices to be detected. I have yet to be able to have it detect anything at all.
Now 'ok Google' will work from ANY screen. It will activate on the lock screen, but the screen will not unlock automatically. I've successfully activated it from the screens of various apps and from the tablet settings. So far I haven't found a screen, app or function where it doesn't activate.
I'm so happy I got it all to work, I haven't rebooted yet because I don't want to get mad in case it fails when booted back up. If it does fail, you'll definitely have to create a shortcut to 'voice input' for easy access.
Ok so I rebooted. It did not hold. However if you made a shortcut for 'voice input', all you have to do is tap it and reselect Enhanced Google Services. I think @savvytechwinner might be right. All of this will probably work like a charm if all installed and activated BEFORE uninstalling the Amazon IOVANA apps and such.
For some reason, this stopped working when downloading and installing the Google App APK. So i went to the Play Store, and it's NOT updated to the version available via APK. I downgraded and reinstalled from the store and it works. No idea if it will after reboot though. If not, all you should have to do it reactivate it via the shortcut described in the last post.
Any News on OK Google on Fire?
I've tried to enable Ok Google in the App but when I enable it, it tryes to connect to something and then says error connecting.
If I retry several times I get to the screen some times where it says say Ok Google 3 times, but it doesn't react to speech at all like get no input.
I've tried this activity manager thing now but no change on described behavior.

You need to use a Launcher that allows shortcuts, like Nova. Create one for the 'voice input' activity and place on desktop. You have to set voice up through shortcut. Select 'enhanced services'. Tap on the gear. Set it up. When you reboot, you have to re enable enhanced services through the shortcut, then tap the gear.
But isn't that short cut thing only for quick reenabling after reboot?
Or is it needed in general to get it working at all, also when manually enabling the first time?

Unfortunately you need to use the shortcut after each reboot. Tap on it, select enhanced services, then tap the gear, tap the ok Google option, then say out loud ok Google. Should work every time. Though since the last update to the Google app, I've had some difficulties. I would suggest not letting it update until I can figure out why. It's likely Google is preparing to roll out it's assistant on most Android versions, as they plan to do sometime soon.
EDIT: I have nougat on my new phone which has assistant already in the Google app. It's very cool but I have to relearn how to use it because it does a whole lot more than 'Ok Google.' Siri will have some massive competition when it rolls out completely.
But I have taped the gear from inside the activity manager an tried to set it up but it can't connect to whatever.
Do you think it matters the activity manager is called by that shortcut isn't that for quicker access only?

Like I said it allways hangs a while and then says can't connect and don't come to the screen to say OK Google 3 times.
BTW my Fire 7 got also very unresponsiv / slow some apps installed, may be 1 GB Ram just not sufficient, can't recommend, but got it for 27 Euros.
May be I just use it as music player at the stereo, off course voice controll would be nice also.

You need to go through the apps one by one on that list in your picture and disable background data because there's no need for them to do that I have all background data disabled on my phone and everything works fine.

Go through every single app.. Go in settings and then apps and tap every app and then tap Mobile data and untick background data so it doesn't allow it.
So, I was getting fairly good battery life until recently. I started to use Power Shade and I think it was soon after that that my battery started to really take a nose dive. I even paid for the upgraded part of the app. A couple of days later - and the app is no longer even offered in the Play Store. What's up with that?

Well, I had paid for Material Notification Shade and told him - then he sent me a code for this app.
But, does anyone else have experience with this app ****ing up their battery life?

Never used it myself but if it was removed from Play Store like that it sounds shady...wouldn't be surprised if it was poorly optimized, leading to excessive drain.

I turned it off (didn't fully uninstall it) and I turned off all of its permissions. Is it still going to damage my phone? Is the damage now irrevocable?

I would probably just uninstall that app completely and test from there (BUT keep in mind that if it's been removed from the Play Store, then you won't be able to use it again unless you have the apk to re-install it).
If the problem persists, then maybe it's not that app after all and it's something else. If you can't identify the specific problem or app, then you can always do a factory reset as a last resort. I don't think your phone is damaged, just a rogue apps or permissions.
Well, it's now back again.
I turned it on and let my phone sit, unused, for one hour. My battery dropped 5%.
I turned it off and let my phone sit, unused, for one hour. My battery dropped 2%.
So, is it safe to say this is the culprit?
I have AccuBattery - would that tell me something or BetterBatteryStats would tell me better?

An hour isn't really much time, so hard to say for sure. Try it for a day at least and see if the problem is really solved. Sounds like that app was likely causing drain though. Accubattery is fine, there's also GSAM, etc.
Edit: I see you started your own thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=78501408

Disable automatic Google Backups (Google Drive, Photos, etc.), go to settings and disable backup data in your google account. Also make sure that media auto-download is not enabled in social media apps like WhatsApp and Telegram.
I installed this notif shade app, beside the fact that I really did not like it, I also noticed a high batt drain, and that it constantly tried to access internet , seeing this, I just uninstalled it

Question Reduce idle battery drain

Hello everyone,I left my phone overnight for 8 hours at 100% battery and after 8hours of idling it was at 80%,this seems to much for me. I'm on EEA firmware 12.5.3 and I debloated removing many apps what do you suggest to check or remove?
Try putting it on airplane mode before setting it down for the night. I noticed this drain also, but this made a significant difference. I'm hoping the 12.5 update will sort it!
You are right, putting it into airplane mode should reduce power consumption, probably 5g consume a lot of energy. Now I went into battery mode and resticted apps in background I don't use like assistant, scanner, recorder, notes, and much more
Kill cloud and cloud backup apps.
If you got Google play Services, disable that when not using. Google backup Transport and Framework can be permanently disabled. Kill Google Firebase and feedback for Google, manufacturer, apps and carrier. For starters.
No need to put in Airplane mode if you take out the trash that's needlessly running in the background sucking the battery down.
Could you drive me trough the settings please? Where I can do this? I disabled many things but I want to be sure what I missed

I'm not holding the device and I have a Note 10+ but there are similar issues on all Android phones.
You need to be able to see what apks are draining the battery and using the internet. On Pie which I use is easier to do than with Q and 11 however you may have resources on those systems I'm unaware off.
Disable all power management and address the power hogs individually on a case by case basis.
You can use Karma Firewall to block internet access to rogue apps which will decrease their battery usage. However it's valuble logging features are disabled in Q and above. There may be a ADB work around... I don't know.
Package Disabler is very useful as well. There are non-Samsung variants of the apk you can likely use real time.
Play with it which what I did.
It's time consuming... and what works for some won't work for all. My 10+ was a hot running power hog; today it's a cool running, fast, stable, heavily optimized platform. Once done, do not update the OS or you'll be starting from scratch, again.
Use the Hidden Settings for MIUI app on the Google Play store to disable all the apps that cannot be disabled through the normal app menu (no root required):
Hidden Settings For MIUI - Apps on Google Play
More settings for Xiaomi devices to get a better user experience.

Well the most draining app is Google play services which I don't know what it is used for

Google Backup Transport, Gmail, Gmaps, Find my Device and Playstore mostly. A few other 3rd party apps are dependencies as well like paid for Playstore apps, some of those will run normally without it though*.
Otherwise you can safely leave it disabled.
Find my Device will not initialize as a Device Administrator on reboot without it enabled, an apk I loathe. A reboot with Google play Services enable though will likely be needed to access Playstore.
Playstore is a mess, running in the background.
*like Accubattery if you firewall block it. SD Maid same issue.
That's what I don't understand, Google gmail has been uninstalled via adb, gmaps has been restricted in background (also need to ask location permission everytime it starts), play store has been restricted in background and find my device disabled, so I don't know why it keeps running all the time, what should I do? Shall I install MIUI optimization? The only thing I don't want to lose are whatsapp push notifications, step counter, messages and phone calls notifications
Also my device is rooted, hiw can I prevent Google play services from running in background and being used only when requested? Same for carrier services (what's used for?) And Xiaomi services framework

Find my Device still runs even when disabled.
As does Google Backup Transport and Framework.
Google play Services just does what it wants.
WhatsApp... you're kidding, right? I won't let that FB etc or any "social app" on my machine. Multiple security risks written all over (and into) it.
20% overnight is a lot, I get 4% overnight with no special settings. How's the signal strength? I've noticed that signal strength can have a negative impact on battery when looking for a signal as you mentioned airplane mode seems better.

It's using the internet either polling or transferring data needlessly. You need to find the source.
My 10+ can receive texts and calls at night and still uses only 2-3% in 6 hours with touch to see AOD running.
Before when Google Backup Transport was running (even though it was turned off) it was more like 8-10%. Gookill is a mess.

Well WhatsApp is need to communicate with my wife lol,and my family.
Where can I find these backup transport? I run through the settings and restricted background activity for many apps, I got to see overnight what my new drain will be so I can report you.
What carrier services does? If I restrict background activity will I still receive sms and WhatsApp?
The only apps I have installed on my phone which I installed are: Whatsapp, tapatalk, Kiwi browser (uninstalled chrome), youtube vanced and magisk. All the rest if the apps are the one that came with the firmware. I uninstalled a lot of them plus some packages through adb. Still Google play services and carrier services are the most demanding. I don't want to loose the ability to use maps but only when I use it obviously. I want super low battery drain in idle

Why not use text messaging instead? It's battery usage is low.
-You- really need to know what you are disabling... one at a time.
There are likely more than one or two apps contributing to high battery usage.
Play with it.
Like I said you can enabled/disable Google play Services as needed in settings.
You'll find Google Backup Transport Services and Framework there as well.
Each device and user are different, one solution doesn't work for all. You'll need to become familiar with your device to do this right.
In settings where? And what should I restict or deactivate?
I think I solved the issue by resticting a lot of background activities through manage apps, usage access, revocation and permissions, now the phone stayed a 100% for more than 5hours

How To Guide How to fix "Access denied" screen randomly appearing on rooted devices

A couple of days ago my S21 Ultra running G998BXXS5CVIF automatically opened an "Access denied" screen. It was impossible to show which app cause it as it disappeared once you got to the app switcher menu.

I could force the screen by rebooting or by changing the device's language. Using:
Code:
dumpsys activity activities | grep "mFocused"
via adb showed it was com.android.samsung.dkey which opened an activity of com.samsung.android.carkey (com.samsung.android.dkey/com.samsung.android.carkey.ccc.ui.IntegrityCheckFailDialogActivity)
Apparently there was a Samsung Wallet Digital Key update (probably v1.0.08.11) which causes it after a reboot as well as randomly every couple of hours. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixed it for me.
Uninstalling the update isn't a good permanent solution and you can't disable the app without root (meaning you probably don't want to disable it as it maybe could cause other issues). It can affect any device that has a tripped Know. Even formerly rooted devices running stock with a locked bootloader.

thanks i was looking for a solution for this! so many thanks
Had this error on my rooted S21 Ultra as well, i went back to stock but this error appeared. Thanks to this thread i solved it. But you can delet it without root.
Thers an Windows App called ADB AppControl. there you can simply uninstall Samsung Wallet Key app.
You are unable to use it, so delete it. Nitification never appeared again

You actually can fix it without root: "appear on top" can be toggled which fixes the problem. No need to disable or uninstall it. I tend to not deactivate or remove apps that are non-user removeable as I had bad experiences with spammed logs and high CPU usage due to Java errors
Good point with the Error logs
You can fix it by removing Digital Key app from system/priv-app folder. If you're rooted of course.

Yes, but just disabling "Show on top" is easier and safer. From my past experience speaking: removing system apps that often talk to each other and require certain frameworks inside apps, it may lead to permanent log spam and high CPU usage due to dozens of system calls that go unanswered.
The stock system often isn't designed for core apps being missing. That's why disabling apps is imho better as it hides apps from the system but still allows other apps to use their existing frameworks.
The benefits of "removing" apps e. g. via debloating with Magisk is not worth the issues that could arise. It's especially not worth it if the solution is to not let the app show that message at all
Thank you so much! Had this issue since a few days on my S22 Ultra after updating all Samsung apps via the Galaxy Store and these random popups were driving me crazy.
Freeze samsung wallet digital key from titanium backup is work for me
i have the same problem, i don't know which application is causing this error, how can i remove this error screen. my phone is s21 ultra and i have knox triggered but no root device

please help me this access denied error keeps popping up on the screen and i can't find which app is causing this error i reset the phone but the result is still the same my phone is android 13 without root solution and help please
You are a lifesaver!
I'm on stock, but I have rooted my phone before so my Knox is tripped. I got this message every time I tried to do anything Samsung-software related. It was worst when trying to use my camera, popping up all the time.

You can follow the instructions without being rooted. Disabling "Appear on top" for Samsung Wallet Digital Key fixes it.
@Macusercom i love people like you when sharing even a little bit of knowledge that makes so difference! thanks man!
I just rooted my newly bought Note 20 Ultra 5G today, this message kept popping up. Actually, it started happening as soon as I unlocked the bootloader, even before rooting. It seems that just doing that is enough to trigger it. And no matter what you're doing, it will hijack it to show this message. It was driving me crazy for a few hours until I found this thread. Disabling "appear on top" works 100%. But in a few days it won't matter anymore, I'll be moving to an open source GSI ROM. Then I won't have to deal with messages like this spamming the crap out of the phone.
Samsung just needs to f off, at least we're still buying their devices. They're ours, we should be able to use them how we want. The bastards already have our money, yet they still want to do things like this to us.
Hey guys, please i am having this error since I upgraded my S20 Ultra to Android 13. Plus the Phone des not recognize my sim card anymore. I don't have this Samsung Wallet app neither. Can someone help please ?
Yup same for me, cant find this app.
