SM-T810 codename? - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
Received an "old" s2 sm-t810 wifi version with Nougat running on it and want to make it usable in the household.
What is my best best? Looking at the devices list I see gts210wifi is not supported but gts210wifi (2016) is.
My questions are:
I am able to verify it is a wifi version (looking at the icons in the slidedown panel) but I am not sure which codename (gts210wifi or gts210wifi) this tablet is. How can I verify? Ideally I don't want to enable wifi on this unsafe (android version 7) tablet and install something from the play store.
Is it correct that gts210vewifi is supported by lineageOS and if so which version can I install on this tablet. How can I verify which is the latest lineageOS version this tablet is able to run?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

I have an SM-T810 and am running Lineage (Android 9) with no problems. The Lineage thread is hers:

@walts thanks for your reply. Good to hear android 9 is running smooth on it.
Question about security/safety regarding custom roms. How do you check if this custom rom is safe to use. I don't want to suggest this rom has been tampered with but I would like to know how and if this can be checked.
If not, I guess building one yourself is the only option?

Reporting Bugs:
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Adb doesnt work right now so rip)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless).
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. For now please report any bug below.

I'll try to build the plus version when i have a spare time.
Thanks BRO!!
Definitely going to keep an eye on this thread! Thanks for your hard work.
(Galaxy S9+)
Nice to see some development for snapdragon version. To have a dual speaker and a fully working gcam port would make this room a daily use material.

Looking forward to your good news

Can this potentially work on a T-Mobile S9+ ? I wasn't sure U.S. carrier Galaxy S9's could be rooted ? Haven't had a Samsung phone in awhile, currently rocking the Pixel 2 XL

it cant. Snapdragon from Mexico and asia? can unlocked. Ive had my samsung s9 canada version (960w) for over a month.
Even if snapdragon US/CAN could unlock you still need oem unlock to show up in dev settings. I believe it changes state after 168h of the device on, "oem unlock" would show up in dev settings. However I'm at 174h and nothing has shown up. of course this doesn't matter because i wouldn't be able to flash anything.
I upgraded my phone from HTC 10 which had ex kernel, audio mod, custom os. Now moving to this S9 it feels like a downgrade

Only for G9600 for now
I'm gonna continue to fix all of the stuff once Lineage 16 becomes stable.

GSI LineageOS possible?

Hi,
The G7 Plus is available for € 225.00 for Amazon Prime Day and I am considering getting one. I see that TWRP is available for the device and a current build of LineageOS should be possible through GSI. Does anybody have the GSI port of Lineage running on this device and can comment on how everything runs compared to stock?
I'd be looking to run LineageOS, Magisk and a GCam port - any problems with that?

Looking for a SM-T510 ROM recommendation.

Hello all, I’m about to unlock my bootloader and thinking of flashing a custom ROM. Would like to know what everyone’s using on their tablet.

Every user has its own favorite, but Lineage OS (LOS) is very popular:
[ROM][SM-T510][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 18.1 for Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019)
In the spirit of moving custom ROM development along for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 [SM-T510], here's a build of LineageOS 18.1 I just created based on the latest OEM stock firmware and @AndyYan's latest LineageOS 18.1 GSI. It's very much a work...

Gamma control? (T-813)

Hi!
I have a rooted stock, is there any way to control the gamma of the display? Dark parts of a video are always too dark, no matter the screen setting. It is better with the Lineage OS, but I need to stay on the stock. Is there any working app for this? I checked Trickster MOD Kernel settings, and some others to no avail. Any configuration file I could edit in order to affect the gamma?
Regards,
Matchay
that was exactly my problem....
but my solution was LOS first, than mpv-android.

LineageOS Installation queries

I would like to prolong the life of my Tab S2 SM-T719 (8 inch LTE, 2016), which is running Android 7, not rooted
I have done a fair bit of reading through the various threads, but I have a couple of questions about the install
- apologies if these questions have been asked before
- and also if this is in the wrong thread / forum
1) How to find out what is fixed and what is working
At the beginning of the thread

I currently use the Tab S2 as my mobile phone (both over 4G and with WhatsApp calls) and also with the App PolarSteps to take pictures when travelling

In general, is there a way to find out what is working and what is not fixed without trawling through the 50 odd pages in

Specifically, with the latest build
a) is the camera working ?
b) can I make calls over 4G ?
c) can I make WhatsApp calls ?
2) How to recover a bricked phone or revert
The disclaimers say 'not responsible if you end up bricking your phone' - which is fair enough
However, is there any help or a HOWTO revert to a stock Android in the event of a bricked phone
- or even if I just change my mind and want to go back to the original Samsung Android ?
I found the following article for the Tab S2 10 inch LTE or 8 inch wifi (couldn't find anything similar for Tab S2 8 inch LTE)
Install LineageOS on gts210ltexx | LineageOS Wiki
wiki.lineageos.org
Install LineageOS on gts28vewifi | LineageOS Wiki
wiki.lineageos.org
in which there is a section
Installing a custom recovery using heimdall
Is this a recovery process or part of the actual LineageOS installation ?
Thanks to all who have contributed to the development, for reading this and any suggestions
I've done a bit more reading and now better appreciate the install process
For query 2 I now understand the need for the custom recovery
Any help with identifying which issues still exist would be appreciated - particularly
