Wrong launcher after closing all apps in Android 11 - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Overnight my phones got upgraded to Android 11.
Normally I use Pear Launcher (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pearlauncher.pearlauncher)
However, after getting this upgrade, when I go to task switcher/manager (3 vertical lines button) and hit "Close all" button, it brings me to Samsung's default launcher, not my Pear Launcher.

If I hit "home" button Pear Launcher appears.
With Android 10 it never acted like that, it would always switch to my Pear Launcher.
Anybody experiencing this? Any way to fix/change this?

Had the same problem with Nova j launcher after update yesterday. Verified that Nova settings had default Laucher set to Nova, but still went back to stock.
Then, one time when swiping home (I use gesture nav), it gave me that screen where it asks which launcher and has options for "one time" or "always". After choosing Nova and selecting "always", it's worked flawlessly since.
Maybe try unchecking any default and then going home. That should bring you to that screen.
Good luck!

Yup, I switched default launcher to Samsung and then back to pear launcher and it seem to have fixed this problem.

[Q] Any other launcher that allows dot-press to apps page?

I was wondering if there was a launcher out there that does the same thing that TWL does where you can bring up your apps, then just press one of the overhead dots to quickly go to that particular page (column) of apps? I was told that LP doesn't have the functionality, & I played with ADW today for a bit, but couldn't find a setting...
Bottom line: me no likey da scroll-y.
If you install SGS Tools there are different variations of Touchwiz. Just go to upgrade stock apps and then upgrade tw launcher.
Yeah, I've already got the updated version installed; was just wondering if there was another launcher out there w/the same functionality. le sigh.
EDIT: Do you want that feature in the app drawer?
If by "app drawer," you mean the screens/columns that you see when you hit the button to bring you to all of your apps, then yes. I'm referring to the dots @ the top of this image:

But you aren't the first person to suggest Zeam. Maybe I'll see if that's got what I'm looking for today...
*Edit - tried Zeam, & unless I missed it, it doesn't have it, either.

Switching launchers

How in the world do you switch lauchers after setting one as a default? I for the life of me can't figure it out!

I believe there are a couple apps on the Market - Launcher Switcher and Home Switcher. Also - you can go to Settings->Applications->Manage Apps->Find the Launcher->Clear Defaults
I use one called Home Switcher. Works perfectly.
Another way is to use Titanium Backup. You simply freeze the launcher you don't want ATM, and defrost it when needed.
I tried home switcher but it kept crashing so i used the remove default technique! Thanks guys!

aside from apps you can do it two ways. .
1. you can just go to your app drawer and pick the launcher you want to use (will work for all but getting back to Touch Wiz)
2. go into to settings> applications> (choose the one that is the defaulted launcher) and click clear defaults. . (bottom right in the pic below)

Multi-Tasking Glitch - Internet Browsers blacked out on the bottom of the screen

tI've been using my Note 8 for about a week and a half and I've encountered a really annoying bug that wasn't there on the first day.
When I'm in any kind of multi-tasking screen, any Internet Browser on the bottom half of the screen is blanked out. So for example, in the two screenshots below, I have Amazon and NewEgg open in Samsung Browser and Chrome at the same time. Whichever one is on the bottom is completely blanked out. If I switch which app is on the bottom, it switches which one will be blacked out.
In my phone, it looks black, but in the screenshots below it looks white.
Anyone know what this could be? Admittedly, it could be a lot of different things--I've been toying with Bx Actions, Bk package disabler / ADB, Nova Launcher, my settings, etc...
As it stands now, the rest of the phone works great, but I may have to factory reset my device.
It would also help if someone can tell me how to reliably create a bunch of restore points so I can move in iterations next time I set everything up.
Thanks

What launchers support landscape mode (with the dock at the bottom of the screen)?

I'm one of the few people who almost always holds the phone in landscape orientation; even when talking on the phone with Bluetooth... especially, with the large high-res screen of the Note 9. I'm able to do this with One UI (and also the older launcher on Oreo)... however, I'd like to try others with more customizations.
The first launcher I tried was Nova Prime. To my surprise, it now has an arbitrary limitation which does NOT allow having the dock at the bottom of the screen in Landscape mode... even if there's room for it. Instead, it puts the dock at the right edge of the screen... which looks really bad IMO. I used to be able to do this with Nova launcher, even on my old Note 4. Not anymore.. I've already confirmed this limitation with other Nova users who use a Note 9.
For those of you that are using 3rd party launchers (other than Nova), I'm curious if you could please confirm that you get the dock at the bottom of your landscape screen ...like the screenshot below. I'm thinking about Action Launcher.

Question Nova Launcher Prime - Gesture Issues

Hi
I have setup Nova Launcher on my s21 Ultra but i am facing difficulties specially on the himescreen when I am trying to access the recent app window by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to pull the recent apps . When i do that on Nova Launcher it pulls the App Search Window and i have noticed i need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold the gesture for about 1 second for recent apps to show up
On Default Samsung Launcher its buttery smooth , the second i swipe up it pulls the recent apps but thats not the case in Nova Launcher
I have attached images for reference
my question is , is there a way to switch off the app search window in nova launcher settings and is it possible to get the same seamless gesture for recent apps from Nova Launcher homescreen like i get in Samsung Default Launcher
Spoiler: Screen shots

that's how it is with me too, even on nova 7. blame google on that. this has been posted numerous times already though. one here
Unfortunately NO.
You can use the recent apps gesture from Samsung Home only, not from other launchers
i found one hand operation + very helpful for this ..
