Updating H3G S10 5G to Android 11 with EE firmware - Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Questions & Answers

Hi all,
Has anyone updated their S10 5G to Android 11 with the EE firmware that's now available even though they are using a different carrier?
I'm currently on 3 UK as my provider but interested in updating via the mentioned method as now the update has been pulled by Samsung, it could be a while before we get it
Cheers

did you try it?

Mine is vodafone,I did factory reset and updated EE android 11 rom via odin, battery drain is an issue but since latest update yesterday its seems to be fixed, super fast
I recommend to go for it ✌check for latest update soon after you flashed the rom.

Yeah I went ahead last weekend as my battery was draining badly and needed a factory reset anyway. All went fine and removed the bundled apps without issue. No had any battery drain issues like ramy. Anyone else curious about it should go ahead too. Not a huge amount of difference in OneUI 3 and Android 11 but it's just a bit more refined and smooth

After more than 10 months after release, BLU has promised on delivering the marshmallow update. I just saw the notification today at around 4:00PM CMT.

I just updated last night. Everything running smoothly. I had the phone rooted previously but the one click root app got removed in the update process. If anyone has success rooting after the upgrade, I'd love to know about it.
I upgraded this morning and I've been having lots of issues with my installed apps, like Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp and more, and of course I lost Root which was previously accomplished by KingRoot which doesn't work anymore.
Also I noticed that during the update process, particularly while flashing the firmware, it was flashed using my TWRP recovery and afterwards it got removed.
I'm sure that if I start fresh by performing a factory reset, all will be fluid and in working order, minus TWRP and Root of course, at least for the time being.
All in all, the update to Mashmellow seems to be awesome, some new features.
Cheers!
I'm having issues with the update. It downloads just fine and when I go ahead and try to install...it just spins around on "unzipping" and then proceeds to restart..or turn off for that matter. The phone turned off...I didn't do anything to it just let it sit there for a while and then I saw the charge icon show up (the one you see when the phone is off and charging) at which point I started the phone up. The phone did not update and I can basically repeat the process. There is 4.30 GB of space free and no SD card. What do I do?
EDIT:
So I tried again, kept at it and it eventually worked. Updated just fine but now there are doubles of all folders in the phone. When I plug it into my computer, all the folders (Music, Download etc etc) are showing up twice with the same contents in the each of them...
What...is...going...on?
Was pretty laggy at first. Decided back up my files and do a factory reset. Works much better now.

Yeah, mine is working flawlessly after a factory reset! Much improvement compared to Lollypop!
Anyone found a Root for Marshmellow yet?
Unless Blu changed something other than the interface I'd guess TWRP won't be working on MM anytime soon. It's a problem seen in the Gionee phone and I would expect the same to happen to the Blu. As for root and a custom recovery (although not a great one) you could try following these instructions: https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-15270.html
I've played a bit with the Gionee Marshmallow firmware on my Vivo XL during the past month or so, and one thing that really bugs me is that it seems to be shipping with a kernel that is way older than it should be on an MM release. And the OTA service that is known for leaking info also seemed to still be present in the updated firmware.
Can someone who's got the Blu update check if these two things are the same for the Blu release please? Enter device info in the settings menu and check the Kernel version for me. And, if you guys manage to get root, check if AdupOTA is still lurking in there.

Kernel Version: 3.18.19

Does anybody with TWPR/root upgraded to official 6.0 successfully? What's exact procedure/steps?
I have my Blu Vivo XL with TWRP now, in last (small) OTA update a few months ago, I tried flashing back to original recovery and rom, but still failed OTA.

Samsung S10 AT&T (G973U) not getting updates since 1 August, 2019 Security Patch

Hey guys.
I bought my phone from AT&T retail shop in the US last year. But unfortunately I had to move back to my home country. Ever since the August 2019 Security Patch, I have yet to get any update. The AT&T website indicates that my phone is due to get an update in December 2019 but I have yet to get it.
Is there a way I can resolve this. Whenever I check for updates, it indicates that my phone is up to date. This happens also when I use Smart Switch application.
Samsung S10, Snapdragon 855
Model: G973U
Baseband Version: G973USQS2ASGK
Thanks in advance.
August? You are like 4 or 5 updates behind! Android 10 is out for the S10 now. You're probably going to have to flash the latest firmware using the patched version of Odin floating around the forum here.

Unfortunately since August. But thank you for this insight..I have been searching for days on what I should do. Though I would like to know when I do flash using Odin, will I start getting updates or do I need to update manually every time.
Also if there is any other way of solving this problem without having to flash my phone I am willing to give it a shot.
Flash whenever you want, but it will reset your phone unless CSC_home is used. You might get updates after flashing with Odin as long as your SIM card matches the firmware (i.e. T-mobile firmware and SIM), but then again you might be stuck using Odin to update every time.

Battery drain over the night?

Recently I switched back from PE to stock using MiFlash and manually installed all updates. (It's my decision to do this because of some kind of security issue with my banking app.) However, I noticed that comparing to previous stock and previous PE ROM, it's currently using a lot (~20%) of battery over the night with the same settings. Plus, some WiFi doesn't work anymore. So I am wondering if flashing through MiFlash has restored the firmware or kernel to the official version? If so, what's causing the problem?
By the way, I did check some tech info and it seems that my CPU isn't stuck at maximum.

November Update#2

I installed the November Update in 5th and few seconds ago a new update showed up with 1.82GB.
Did anyone has the same, I am a little bit nervous to install.
I had this same issue with my wife's p4a 5g. in the process of updating mine to the Nov security update (finally got around to opting out of the beta so I could update it) and then I'll see if mine does the same thing.
UPDATE: Finally got the security update installed and my 4a 5g also has the upgrade notification. After doing some digging around, it seems that Google accidentally pushed the VZW specific update to all Pixels (the update in question is this one: 12.0.0 (SP1A.211105.002.A1, Nov 2021, Verizon, Verizon MVNOs)). I will most likely ignore this update if that's the case. (took almost an hour to optimize apps for the security update, not looking forward to doing that again right now lol).
same here..lets see if the build number will be sam

Same here.
Just 2 days ago i did a clean install of nov 5 image SP1A.211105.003
I received the update the same day pixel 6 was launched, today received another update to install 12.i paused it until be sure whats going on
Mine installed ...
Previously : SP1A.211105.003
After : SP1A.211105.002.A1
According to their release details
Pixel 4a 5G: Android 12 – SP1A.211105.003, SP1A.211105.002.A1 (Verizon, Verizon MVNO), SP1A.211105.004 (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone AU) – Factory image – OTA (2) (3)
Same thing is happening on the Pixel 5 and 6. I'm currently on the ,003 firmware on my Pixel 5, even did a clean factory install. Still getting an update notification. It would be nice if Android would define the version of the update...
If you are rooted, DO NOT take the automatic update. If you do, you will have to wipe to re root.

Good day; would a factory reset be a solution to revert back to the global version ? Thanks !

No.
Use the Android Flash Tool to install the global version. Data wipe/factory reset should not be necessary.
Update no longer available for me. Seems like Google realized their mistake.

Cannot update

Hi,
I am stuck on android 11 with oneui 3.1. my current version have the security patch from november 2021...
I am up to date according to the phone (OTA)
My current version is RP1A.200720.012.G781USQS6DUJ4
And the service provider version is SAOMC\_SM-G981U\_OYN\_XAA\_QQ\_0006 XAA/XAA/ATT
Does anyone have any idea how I can update my phone ?
phone AT&T if you and the phone are still in the states.
alternatively you can download the latest update and flash it yourself. in that situation though such a big jump would be best starting over and downloading your apps from scratch or at least wipe your cache.
But I'm french and bought it in france (new, not second hand). I never went in the us, and I'm not planning to...
Is there another way? Maybe using a vpn?
I might be willing to flash an update manually but I would like to have ota update in the future...
Edit: Also I have no idea which version to flash manually
