Question Notification turn on screen - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

So i have this one app called "careem" from playstore, that turns on the screen whenever it gives a notification. I searched inside the app settings to turn it off but i couldnt find. Also from notification setting, i cant find this option. I still want to see the notification just without it force turning my screen on

Disable all notifications from it.
Personally I deep six any misbehaving apps... don't have time for bad and/or invasive coding.

[Q] How can i disable the daily Stamina message?

Every day my phone recommends using the stamina mode to extend my battery life. How do i get it to shut up? Disabling the ecocontroller app didn't remove the message.
Long press on the notification, select app info, disable notifications

No, thats grey.
I assume you do not want stamina mode, so try turning it on, but change the setting so it only activates at 1% battery.
That should disable the notification, at least in theory.

Sounds reasonable, good way of thinking..
I had the same annoying problem – but after a long search I was able to find the solution for it:
With the App "Notifications Off" (Free in Google Play Store) notification settings can be set for each app - even for system-Apps (hence root privileges are required for this purpose).
The annoying notifications about "my Xperia" and STAMANIA mode (App "Eco-Mode Controller") can be disabled easily!

Some question on OnePlus 3T and OOS 4.0 (coming from OnePlus One (COS or CM14.1)

1. Is there no way hide notification on lock screen for apps that's always in the notification bar (like Tasker or Call Recorder?)
2. I can't find anyway to turn of the screen by double tap the notification bar (like in COS or CM).

1. I'm using the payed version of call-recorder, and I can disable the notificationbar icon and notification.
2. Sadly this feature (or better gesture) is not availible in oos.

Call recorder is a widely used name for apps that record calls. I use the one from Skvalex, also payed version.
What I mean is that normally apps that shall stay active all the time needs to be in notification bar, but I rather don't see it when I only turn on the display with the lock screen.
In CM and COS I could deal with this with options like "never show for apps always in notification bar".

Hmm, I'm on 4.0 and havn't used call-recorder in the short time I was on 3.5.4, next time I'm restoring 3.5.4, I'll check and report back.
Stupid me! It was because I had no PIN set on the phone, I had no specific options for the lock screen.

Always on display for notification?

Hello,
I know the pixel 5 has no notification led, but I read is supposed to have Always on display (ambient display?) to show notification when the screen is turned off.
Right know, I see no indicator at all for any kind of notification.
Do I need to activate it anywhere? I can't find anything about ambient display or always on display in the settings. Do I need external software like AOE or such?
Cheers
There is no such thing sadly. I use "allways on amoled" to turn the screen on if some notification comes in. Its free and easy to use

That sucks.
Can't believe this is still a thing in 2020.
btw I'll try to configure AOE and see what happens. :/
Er, the AOD shows notification icons for me... Do you have notifications on lock screen turned off, maybe?

No, "show notification on lock screen: show all the contents from notifications" (is translated, may be different)
What do you see exactly?
static/blinking icons on the black screen when the phone is turned off?
Is there a video showing this?

I see a large-ish digital clock, then on the next line the day/date, a weather icon and the current temperature, then on the next line (currently) three notification icons - Facebook, Gmail, and another random app. All centered on the black screen, all in white apart from the weather icon.

Same for me. I can see if there are notifications on the AOD
The Autor asked for a way to only turn the screen on if a notification comes in, not allways. And the Stock System doesnt has such an Option, you need to use a third Party App for this.

This is true, but actually my system AOD wasn't even working properly until I rebooted the phone.
After that, I saw the clock with wheater info on the lockscreen and yes, it has the notification icons too.
Then with the premium version of AOE I kind of achieved what I was asking for. So I disabled the clock and now when I got a notification, it blinks around the punch hole with different colours based on the app.
Cheers

I just use the built in "Wake screen for notifications" setting. It turns the screen on when new notifications are received. Is that similar to what you're looking for?
Just make sure to have ambient display option "always show time and info" switched off.

Yes but it last only a few seconds. Then blackscreen (unless you show the clock/info panel).

I think you are looking for - under Settings/Display/Advanced/Lock screen = wake screen for notifications.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-5/themes/notifications-charging-ring-camera-hole-t4176509
And there is this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=host.stjin.cometin

this doesnt help, because when a message arrives, the display only a few seconds is activated. Then it switches off automicaly again.

Question Push notification delayed until screen is on

Having used the phone for a week now, no major issues, but just one thing annoying me.
Some apps' notification are not received when my screen is off. Once I wake up my phone, the messages are then received and shown. But some apps (like WhatsApp, Messages) are working fine.
I've checked all the battery optimization settings for those affected apps but had no clues why they are not working the way they should. These apps are working fine in my other devices.
Appreciate any suggetsions.
Sounds like what I experience with OnePlus phones...something they did to make the battery last longer between charging cycles. Not much you can do. If they allowed background apps to work as we wish they would the battery life would stink and people would complain and sales would drop.
In my experience this depends on the system mode you select under settings/battery. For me in the dynamic mode notifications appear without delay, but some appear only when I turn on the screen in the durable mode.

Thanks. I've been using dynamic mode and even tried high performance mode, but still the same issue.
It's a setting from security and lockscreen. Press the clog at the right of screen lock. There you have a setting called notifications on lockscreen. Set it to show all notifications
Disable adaptive notifications. This should fix the issue.

no, it's not related to whether notification is showing in lock screen or not. the symptom is that only when i wake up the phone, the notification will then be received. i can see from the firewall log that google service framework accessed data as soon as the phone is awake.

Question Can we try to figure out this notification issue "mis" behaviour?

so Im baffled and I'm wondering if I am missing a setting somewhere. First of all, I am not using dark mode. the battery setting are all set properly as well as notification and "start" auto start etc. this is what I am noticing.
I am using Nova as well..oh.smart notifications OFF. I have de-bloated the phone no Vivo.pem
First of all Whatsapp: my lock screen does not show whatsapp messages most of the times, but it does show the min drop down notifications. I noticed the message comes on the lockscreen and disappears v quickly. I included slowmo of the notification popping and clearing itself out. I also noticed if your phone screen is turned off for while and you open it the lock screen shows most messages including whatsapp. Sometimes the whatsapp notification holds on the lockscreen(I included 3 examples).
Another issue is, coming from Samsung and one plus, all the items on the drop down notifications should be the same on the lockscreen. They are not. I seem to get gmail, whatsapp(sometimes) sms etc..the rest are not showing. is that normal behaviour?. again smart notifications is turned to off. logically any app that I set to show on lockscreen should show on lockscreen? I included 2 photos of this.
I know everyone is having issues with notifications, Im just trying to find the pattern for this because to me it looks inconsistent. either it should show or never show.my audiobook shows on both 100% of the the time. so really confusing for me.could be something stupid that im missing, maybe theres a setting for a timer for a certain notification to show on a lockscreen? I dont know.I think in 10 days Ive learned the settings menu inside out.
Fingers crossed that wasnt a stupid post...
Run the new debloat script I fixed. You probably botched something up with the old script, or removed com.vivo.pem and borked your whole phone.
Ok 2.6? I thought we need to remove com.viov.pem..
Thanks ..Will try again

Only according to like one or two guys who in my experience don't seem to know what they are talking about because the phone performs fine with this package installed.
How did it go?
