This happened when I first flashed EU ROM 12.5. Then I came back to stock Fastboot ROM India and NO L1, So can anyone help me to get the Widevine L1 back.
did u remove Netflix partner activation (bloatware)?? even if you have removed it, download Netflix app from the official website
download the DRM info app from the play store and check for the L1 certificate.

Hello,
Today i got my brand new mi8 (from china).
Unluckily, it has some ****ty custom ROM with no actualisation feature. I can't even install offical global rom or unlock bootloader.
So I need to flash my device - and here's the question.
How can I flash my ****ty rom to a offical global rom? as this post says it's forbidden https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/firmware-global-china-stock-firmware-t3818194
So should I flash to a china rom, than unlock bootloader and than install official global/some xiaomi.eu? Any simple solution would be great.
Thanks for help
UPDATE : I found hidden update app and installed global miui 9.6.1.0(OEAMIFD), but I still have ads in MI browser, etc. Will reseting phone to the fabric settings work?
I can't get Google Pay to work with latest official global rom.
I have a global version with open bootloader and TWRP installed by me.
Tried everything.
It works in the EU Ron's but only if I flash a fix file.
Anybody who can give me a hint how to get it to work?
Even when returning to stock EEA rom, I still have Widevine L3. However, I don't remember if I flashed a persist.img (which would lose L1). My IMEI is still the same on the phone settings. Is there anything else I need to check? I'm currently on the latest Xiaomi.EU. I wonder if anything else could break the Widevine.
Recently, after manually installing the latest firmware update from the ASUS website my Widevine dropped from L1 to L3. After reading some forums i have found out that i am not the only one facing this issue. Asus support demends that you deliver them your device so they can reflash the proper firmware to fix this issue. Since I am the owner of the Tencent version, i am obviously not able to send my phone to the Asus support. I have tried reflashing some firmwares myself ( 2007 and 2009 versions) without any success bringing back L1 certificate. Does anyone have any solution yet?
Hey everyone,
I have an s21 ultra that is rooted and running a oneui based ROM
I was wondering, will restoring the firmware from samfirm(which will also remove root) and locking the bootloader restore l1 support? And maybe OTA updates?
Thanks for any reply!
For anyone wondering, it worked!
I have L1 again and ota updates after getting back on the original firmware and locking my bootloader
