Accessories [REVIEW] Phantomskinz Ultra Clear Full Body - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I highly recommend trying this Phantomskinz Full body shield. I was using a cheap DeltaShield screen protector from Amazon on my s21 and it was not holding up! It was so bad I paid to upgrade my shipping speed with Phantomskinz. I have tried almost all screen protectors in the past from Zagg, Skinomi, Dbrand, etc but I find myself always going back to Phantomskinz. This full body ultra clear gives the phone an amazing grip and it also gives it this glass like smooth feeling. The fingerprint scanner works amazing with this! This is a wet install so you need to take your time and wait over night for the bubbles to go away. I love this screen protector because I can keep the natural beauty of the phone without using a case. I showed my wife the phone and she could not even tell I had the full body skin installed. To all those who bought this Phantomskinz, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I attached some pics… Came out Awesome! Highly recommend!

Here are some pics.

Any orange peel or stickiness on the screen?

this is funny... you took a phone designed to be matte black and made it shiny again... lol

how thin is this case? would it be viable as an option to use underneath another case, say the otterbox defender pro?

This is the s21 ultra without the mate black, nice!

What I liked with the S21U is the matte black of the back, I wonder if you apply a matte transparent skin instead of clear, how will it look?
Also are you using a case, or this skin is enough to protect it from scratches and small drops?

I ordered a skin from Phantomskinz and it took almost a month for them to deliver the product, so this time I decided to go with Gadgetshieldz and I received the screen protector within a week's time. The quality is not bad and it fits very well on my phone.

It's been a long time and my phantomskin is still holding up strong!

[REVIEW] SGP Ultra Fine Screen Protectors

I've been using my Spigen SGP Ultra Fine MATTE screen protector for a few weeks now and I finally want to upload my thoughts and some pictures.
Spigen produces some of the best quality screen protectors that I have ever tried. I first owned one the Asus Transformer TF101 and couldn't wait until they made them available for the Nexus 7. Since I owned one of these in the past, it was a no brainer for me but they work so awesome that I want to share with you.
Here is a blurb from the website:
Code:
Ultra Fine film is a high quality film with a slightly textured film with
30% increased light transmittance. The Ultra Fine is effective in preventing
glare, smudges and fingerprints
High grade anti-glare hard coated film
Premium matte surface
Good surface hardness : 3H
No rainbow effect
[URL]http://www.spigen.com/tablets/google/google-nexus-7-remium-lcd-protection-film-steinheil-series.html[/URL]
What this doesn't tell you is that these suckers are thicker then normal. They aren't flimsy like other ebay or amazon cheapo protectors. This makes them easy to get on without any hassles. Because they are thicker and less flimsy, pushing air bubbles out is a breeze. Especially because their little rubber air bubble remover tool is amazing and helps a lot. I chose the ULTRA FINE because of the MATTE fingerprint resistant properties that I loved from my Asus Transformer.
I've uploaded some pictures of the process starting from the unboxing, POST-installation, and a few weeks later. I wanted to give it a few weeks because this is why this screen protector is so awesome.
Code:
I haven't cleaned my screen in over several weeks and it still looks perfect!
Truely amazing!
The Package arrives in a very nice, well crafted cardboard packaging (as pictured). The kit comes very well stocked with your not-so-typical accessories. Most "other" kits come in a cheap clear plastic bag, with a cheap card board cutout card and sometimes with a lent-free cleaning cloth. The SGP kit comes with a real nice cleaning cloth, a super awesome rubber Air bubble removal tool, and a 4-pack of dust removal stickers. There was also a nice marketing piece in there to show off some of their other products.
The Rubber Air bubble removal tool really surprised me. I thought, "No way will this be better then a credit card". Well I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. The tool is pretty tough, like a big pencil eraser that you could simply erase the air bubbles away.
The cleaning cloth feels really good too is bigger then most models you get from the other guys. This one is thicker and softer.
The screen protector itself is thicker then most and noticeable right out of the pack. There is only 1 "protection" piece that you remove during installation. Some protectors have both sides covered. In this case, the protected side is the side that has the "glue" on it. So only tamper with this when you are ready to begin.
Here are some very important notes that will make this extremely satisfying on the first go:
1. DON'T USE WATER!
- On some of the cheaper protectors, you can apply a mist of water to ease up the positioning of the protector once applied. This is NOT the case with these. These have a thin film of "glue" that actually will start to break down if wet. So clean the screen very good.
2. USE PROPER LIGHTING!
- I suggest being close to a very bright window so you can easily spot any dust particles.
3. TAKE YOUR TIME!
- Don't rush
4. ONLY PEEL BACK ENOUGH TO GET YOU GOING!
- Don't rip off the protective sheet completely until the toward end. Just peel back enough to start.
5. START FROM THE TOP!
- Align the top/camera hole first. I found this easier to actually FOLD the protective sheet back and hold it out of your way. Make SURE the top is ALIGNED properly. You don't want any overhangs on the bottom.
6. WORK OUT BUBBLES AS YOU GO. DON'T WAIT UNTIL LATER!
- Working out the bubbles as you go allows you to make sure there are no dust particles hidden in one of those air pockets. If you work out the pockets as you go, half of the screen protector would still have the protective layer on it. You can easily raise up that section of the protector from the glass and use one of the included stickers to nab the dust particle before you move on.
7. REPEAT UNTIL YOU ARE DONE!
- Marvel at the glory!
Here are reasons for why I love the MATTE Ultra Fine!
1. It's MATTE = No Glare
2. Never have to wipe off finger prints!
3. Never gets grimy (sticky) after playing games for a few hours
4. Looks superb/quality
The Ultra Fine is currently $24 but worth the extra cost for the benefits. Highly recommended!

Bonus!
The Reason why I switched to a Anti-Fingerprint Matte?!
I am a IT Tech. I was working on a military base for 2 weeks and using my Transformer religiously. Tablets back then were semi-new (iPad 2 had just come out). I was talking to one of the girls who seemed interested in my tab and she briefly mentioned how nasty they look from all the fingerprints. I hadn't noticed before but after a long day, they really piled up and with the screen off, they glared out. I was trying to persuade her how awesome it was, yet she didn't even want to touch it... and that's not very sexy at all!
So I researched and found SGP Ultra Fine and purchased a protector for my Transformer TF101. Never looked back. Having your screen look amazing all day, every day without constantly cleaning it or wiping it down is a curse lifted. Long live SGP so they can protect all of my screens in the future!
Great review man!! I've used SGP before for my Inspire 4g and the protection to me is awesome. Quick question I've never used the anti glare/anti fingerprinte matte ones, could you comment how it feels? I know it won't be glass like but I kinda don't like the ones that feel too grainy if you know what i mean. thanks
Really good review! I have a eBay Matte screen protector and it's actually not bad at all. I love how the screen looks now as it's matte and anti-glare, finger prints are barely an issue as you say.
I actually like the way the screen feels with the matte. It is still very smooth; it doesn't feel grainy. To me, it just feels better, even with a stylus. Perhaps I'm just used to it from my Transformer. The AntiGlare and FingerPrint Resistance is a solid win to me (on top of protecting the screen).
Most LCD/TV's have a MATTE screen. Rubbing on some LCD's around the office, it is similar texture/feel... but the SGP is slightly smoother.
Love SGP.
It's a better "swipe" experience than clean glass, IMO. Viewing outside, GPS use, etc... and the Matte really shows it's worth. Plus no prints
RF
P.S. Steam up the bathroom and get some surgical gloves.
How is it with the rainbow issue matte screen protectors tend to have? I bought a cheap one off Amazon and it was terrible. I don't want to make the same mistake before ordering this

is the matte screen protector grainy? I remember getting some matte anti-fingerprint screen protectors for my G2 back in the day, and it made screen look hideous and grainy.

Current case and screen protection

I was going through this thread to see what screen protectors and cases you all people use as a kind of recommendation for my next case and screen protector. But all you people are scattered in different posts discussing things.
So lets make things easy for everyone.
Post your current setup (the past one as well if you want) and your view about that. And the links and some photos would be loved for sure. :good:
.
.
And a thanks if this thread helps you get a case or skin or screen protector in future
Am myself using Bracevor wallet cover with the the stock screen film. No skin whatsoever. (planning to change this all soon)
Amazon India: http://www.amazon.in/Bracevor-BROPL3ELLCBR-Premium-Leather-Cover/dp/B0157OUT7C
The oem carbon fiber case paired with the oem curved screen protector is absolutely perfect. Can't even feel the seam between the glass and case. I hate cases in general, but I adore this setup.
Using the orzly multifunction wallet with the official tgsp.
Works a treat.

Sandstone case and nude screen. Can't stand screen protectors
Using the OtterBox case from OnePlus with the official curved tempered glass protector. I love the case, but I botched the TGSP installation, so I'll probably end up ordering a new one.

How's the day to day usage with bumper case? Is it worth the money? Any comparison with other cases you have used?
The main reason for getting the case was to showcase the metal back of the op3. And it does that beautifully.
The quality is great, however its a bit loose on the sides (by no means it will pop out, needs considerable effort) due to which sometimes the alert slider does not work, you have to press and move it. Is not noticeable unless you pull at the sides.
Does not add any thickness overall apart from the upper and the lower lip on the back. However the phone feels a bit broader in hand.
Overall happy, although pricey for 1700 inr ordered via their site 5$ discount covered the shipping.
I also have the sandstone and spigen tough armor.

Does it go along with preapplied screen guard or will pop out? Have you tried 1+ official curved/plain screen protector with rhinoshield? I have plain one, thinking to using it with rhino bumper

Buy the gadgetshieldz screen protector. It is also film type one and durable too. Also it gives you the option of full phone film.
I have ordered one because my onePlus3 has many scratches one the surface, but the protector has reduced the display quality. Is there any screen protector that does not reduce the display quality? I have removed the protector, because for me it is better with scratches on the display than having reduced contrast by protector.
By the way, i never had scratches on any Phone display. The resistance to scratches seems to be very bad on this phone.

Galaxy Note 8 Case Thin Fit 360 - With integrated glass protector

https://www.spigen.com/collections/...-note-8-case-thin-fit-360?variant=36835984257
This is the new galaxy note 8 cover from Spigen, does anyone got this? This is still unavailable in Europe.
Someone who own this could tell if you have any touch issue? Thanks in advance
its on amazon for only 17.99. see if you can order it through there instead.
I had the spigen glass protector with a different case, the 20 minutes the protector lasted on the phone I needed to do everything 3 times to get a response. Protector came off in my pocket, cut the lining of my suit and scratched me. Spigen didn't even respond to me via amazon when told. I have bought spigen for years, never again.

I just got mine in today. I have a black Note 8, but got the deep sea blue case to add a bit of color to my life. The color is awesome, the fit of the case is great, but the screen protector is just okay. It took a minute to get it aligned properly, but it definitely feels like the touch sensitivity is worse and catches finger prints and smudges pretty easily. I typically don't use screen protectors, so it's a big difference for me. If they had an option for the case without the screen protector for a cheaper price, I would've gone with the case only, but since the screen protector came with it, I figured I'd give it a shot. If things don't work out, I'll just peel off the screen protector. The case is awesome though, I'm coming from a Speck presidio grip case, and am very happy with the Spigen 360.
Thanks for the info. i guess i'll take it asap. It just need to pop on amazon EU
Got my case today. I like the feel of it. Super low profile. Only thing I don't like are the connection joints. Some of them are flared out slight. Must be the material.
For the screen protector. I used the diy loca glue technique. I had extra laying around from my whitestone. Looks very nice. Have two bubbles but they are not in my "normal" touching zones and should have no negative effect. I'll post pics shortly
Pics. As mentioned earlier

Are you using it naked?

Curious as to how people are using their phones, I just wouldn't trust this size without any sort of case, so it'll be Inna case for me, likely the stock for now.
What about you guys? Using the phone naked? Screen protector or no?
Case yes, screen protector absolutely not.
Tudia case, no screen protector.

Nothing right now. Tried a few tempered glass protectors but they didn't sit well. Have matte black dbrand skin I'm thinking about installing bc I didn't think I'd like the blue but it's growing on me. So for now it's naked.
Totally naked, haven't shattered a single screen in all history, so I'm pretty confident I can keep it safe too. Worst case I purchased insurance for 6 months, will see how it will survive this time.
Naked. Just stock screen protector. But I will use a transparent xtremeskin just against the slippery.
Matte black dbrand skin
OEM case
OEM screen protector
I have a couple third-party cases and screen protectors coming in the mail, so will be switching to those when they arrive.
Ultimately hoping the ultra thin matte black case turns out nice + the tempered glass protector fits well.
Where do you guys work at? I work with a lot of dust and dirt and most of the time natural product powders like pepper... Could this stuff scratch up the screen?
Naked, but I do have a fit bag
I'm using Nillkin's black frosted shield case
Stock case and stock pre-installed screen protector.
I experimented going naked with my Galaxy S8+ a few years ago and learnt my lesson after dropping the phone accidentally and having to fork out a small fortune to replace the screen. Before and after I have always used cases. I rarely drop any of my phones but it does happen from time to time, and much as I'd like to not use a case for the look and feel, it's just not worth the risk to me.
I don't bother with screen protectors usually, but since it came with it pre-installed, I'm keeping it. Will see how well it lasts - the one on the wife's Huawei P20 is starting to come off, so not of the greatest quality. Hopefully this one's better.

Dbrand skin and OnePlus Sandstone case, never use screen protectors and if it came with one I would take it off.
The Dbrand skin is just for a little color around the camera and flash that the case leaves open.
Stock case with a glass screen protector.
It's not a high quality protector but it was all of 10 bucks on Amazon. Xtremegaurd just came out with their screen protectors for it so I will be replacing the glass one as soon as that comes in
Oneplus karbon case. (super slim and awesome grip). Using the lk screen protector.
I'm currently using a Mofi Case, absolutely enjoy their products, however as soon as my Dbrand gets delivered, off comes the case.....I will only then use the case as and when I feel the need to.....

[REVIEW] Phantomskinz Ultra Clear Full Body

I have tried all screen protectors in the past from Zagg, Skinomi, Dbrand etc but I keep going back to Phantomskinz. I always thought these wet install shields were the same until I found Phantomskinz back in in my Palm Pre days. (miss that phone, LOL). This full body ultra-clear gives the phone an amazing grip and it also gives it this glass like smooth feeling. I paid to upgrade my shipping speed since they just released it and I am glad I did! This is a wet install, so you need to take your time and wait over night for the bubbles to go away. I love this screen protector because I can keep the natural beauty of the phone with the nice protection this skin offers. I showed my wife and she could not even tell the full body screen protector was on the phone, lol.
I tested my Phantomskinz with the fingerprint lock screen and the SPen and everything worked flawlessly. To all those who bought this Phantomskinz, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I attached are some pics… Came out Awesome! Highly recommend you give it a try.
Honestly, I bought this because I tried a few other screen protectors, and didn't like them. Saw you schilling away for this and read the reviews. Took a chance, and bought it. I figured, what the heck. I like supporting local businesses, and I've seen you around the older Note threads. Bought it, applied it and love it! I think I'm going to keep using them. Thanks for the recommendation!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy your new phone and skin as much as I do.
Just wanted to report back that the skin has been on a few weeks and it is still flawless. The s pen really feels amazing using this shield.
These are by far the best screen protectors. They aren't the cheapest, but they are easily the best. If you get it on right, it feels like glass.
Wow that looks great. I gotta have it

Did you get the edge to edge one or the case friendly? I'm curious how big a difference between the two there is.
I got the edge to edge. I could still use a case with the edge to edge without issue.
Does the pen leave marks and how about fingerprints does it show them as much as glass
