OnePlus 3T forgot PW (Unlocked Bootloader) - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi there guys, is there a option to regain access to my Oneplus 3T without loosing all my Data?
Fingerprint is still saved on the device, Bootloader is unlocked, its rooted and i think not encryptet.
At startup i get the message "Your device has been unlocked and cant be trusted"
It would be great to regain access because i have a lots of personal data and my google authenticator on that phone...
AndroidLost is also installed on the Phone but since android 7 sadly you cant unlock it with an App
Any advice would be great.

The message you're seeing is normal for an unlocked bootloader. It's just a warning, nothing else.
Is that message all you're concerned about? The phone will boot normally if you don't press any keys.

If you install TWRP, then you can remove your lock screen password by deleting any gatekeeper.* and locksettings.* files from /data/system using the TWRP file manager.

[Q] Bootloader unlocked factory reset

Hi,
Today I tried to unlock my bootloader on Xperia T, because I recently downloaded android 4.3. When the bootloader was unlocked, I tried rooting the cell through usb debug. But it didn't work, I decided to look at it tomorrow, or at a later point. But when I restarted my phone, it was been factory reset. Some of the photos were recovered, but ALL my notes are gone and a lot of apps are gone, I never chose to format my phone or anything.
Is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: my phone contacts seem unlinked from WhatsApp too... So the contacts are there, but WhatsApp doesn't recognise them.... I think the internal memory and the phone memory are corrupting each other
EDIT2: the contacts don't even seem to be there now, not even on Google, while I am 100% sure I saved the contacts to my Google account
I never heard of this issue before, but a bootloader unlock always factory resets the phone. Are you sure that your bootloader can be unlocked, and that it is still unlocked now? For unlock just follow the instructions on the official Sony page, they're clear enough.
I don't know a method for recovering data after factory reset, other than restoring your nandroid backup.

I am sure the bootloader unlock is possible, it might be that I unlocked the bootloader, while it was unlocked already. I don't know if this is the problem.

Did you unlock your bootloader before? If not, then it is still locked. However, the status now is a bit unsure Did you check in the service menu? ('call' *#*#7378429#*#* (*#*#SERVICE#*#*) and check Service Info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status, what does it say?)

Thanks for the reply, I did this, my phones bootloader is UNLOCKED, I was confused and did it again, so i double unlocked the bootloader, this seems to be the problem. Is there any way to get the data back?

Well, good to see your bootloader is indeed unlocked
If you didn't make any backups, there is almost no way to recover your data. The only thing I can think of is trying to recover something with data recovery software like Recuva (from Windows, not an Android app), but you should stop using your phone immediately, because if sectors on SD or internal storage are overwritten with new data it diminishes the chances of recovery of old data.
Now would be a good time to start backing up regularly, or at least before you start flashing roms, unlocking things, etc. There is a reason why we say 'always make a nandroid backup!'

Forgot PiN, fingerprint not work after restart

Dear All,
I have a friend with Huawei P9 Plus with this Firmware VIE-L29C636B103, i don't know what is in his mind on that time but unfortunately after restarting the phone he forgot his PIN to unlocked the phone and the fingerprint was not working. As far as i know, the only solution is by Factory Reset the phone, but he did not want to loose his data. Is there any way to solve this problem?
Thank You

No still original without custom recovery. Can i use TWRP to backup first the data ?
The problem is that you not unlock and then root yet. You basically can't use TWRP. If unlock bootloader, the phone will be immediately wipe data.

He or you could've used it to delete ". key" -files through adb. But that is only useful to have access to the data. You can't set new fingerprints or delete any of them because he must know his forgotten password for it. So it would only be a temporary solution.
Unlocking the bootloader never erased my data. It couldn't cause of some failure appeared at let's say 30%. But I'm not certain that the failure appears also on his phone. Which leads to my suggested solution:
He should try to remember the password and include any typos(yes, typos. My pin was 85320 but it also happened that i typed two times the false pin. The outcome was 85350. Huawei's layout was kinda bull**** and vulnerable for that type of failures. At least to me.) As I know it must be a PIN, not a password. If that fails get rid of the data and make a factory reset.
Thank you all,
Today i connect the P9 Plus Phone USB to HiSuite in Windows 10, i just leave this around 5 minutes and suddenly it connected to HiSuite automatically. Now i'm still backing up the data pictures, etc. Still wondering why in windows 10 it can connected automatically than in windows 7 After backup finished i'm gonna factory reset the phone.
My mistake on comments on unlocking bootloader will erase date since I mixed up the process. Now I remembered that after unlock, if you proceed further to root the phone, the phone will have to erase the data immediately. No option for you to choose not to erase data during rooting process if not mistaken. That's why I dare not to root again the phone.

Forgot lock screen troubles

Hello all,
I'm in a bit of a predicament. I have an old OnePlus 3t that I have not used for years. The device contains extremely important business information that I need to recover. However, I cannot for the life of my remember my lock screen pattern to boot the device. I tried to remember the password and have now triggered the messaging of "This device will be wiped after 8 more tries."
I haven't updated the phone in years, so it would be on an old version of Android. Is there any toolset that could remove this lockscreen and allow the device to boot?

If you:
1. Have unlocked the bootloader, AND
2. Do NOT have an on-boot password set (a lock screen password is ok)
then it is possible to remove the lock screen password.
So, do you meet this requirement? If you do, then do you have TWRP installed?

I thought my bootloader was unlocked, but I cannot completely remember. When I boot the phone with volume down and power, I see a OnePlus branded screen that is also asking me to swipe the password pattern. I assume this means the bootloader is not unlocked, right? If I try to enter the password on this screen, will it use up the twies that trigger the wiping of my phone?

Power+Vol down takes you to recovery. The fact that it's asking you for a password tells you that the phone is encrypted and has an on-boot password.
So, unfortunately you're not going to be able to recover the data on your phone.

If your bootloader is unlocked, you will always see the unlocked bootloader warning screen when you power on or reboot (before it goes to any other screens.
If you do not see that bootloader unlocked warning screen, the bootloader is locked.

It is definitely locked then..
Is there any known exploit that might be available for the device? It is older and has not been updated in years... Even if there were a way to keep trying patterns without triggering the device wipe, that would be hugely beneficial.

The security features and encryption are very secure. You won't be able to exploit these, to extract your data. They do this on purpose, otherwise it would defeat the whole purpose of data security in the first place.
If the data was important to you; you should have been backing it up. Many easy and free options available to back up your data. I'm always surprised how many folks don't take advantage of any of those backup options. Then they come scrambling over to xda once a disaster has struck, asking for ways to retrieve their data. By that time, it's too late. Don't wait until after the car has crashed, to put your seatbelt on!
If your device is rooted and had twrp, I got a file to flash and it cleans the pattern or password, it safe my life, many times. So let me know. To upload the file.

Mdm google pixel 5

Hello,
I bought a second-hand pixel 5, after using it for a few days I wanted to reset it and I ran into an mdm lock, is there a solution?
thanks in advance
MDM meaning Mobile Device Manager?
Go to Settings > Security > Device Admin Apps, and disable whatever is in there. If that agent was still present after a factory reset I would highly recommend flashing a factory image with the Android Flash Tool, after you've enabled developer options and USB debugging.
Will try and repport, ty for the reply

Are you able to remove the MDM app?
Unfortunately, the ability to unlock the bootloader is set at ROM build time, so if you got a device that was sold to a particular enterprise, for example, they may have specified that ability to be disabled. That also may mean that the MDM app was baked into system, which means that a factory reset won't remove it.
Still....you can try rebooting to recovery and try to perform a factory reset there, although I suspect as I mentioned the MDM may actually be integral to the firmware.
yeah the app is bakeday firmware as you said, there are a bypass trick for android 11 but yesterday i got the ota and i m stuck on set up screen with a google authentification and no workaround to bypass this cheat

Please read this thread. If you buy an enterprise device, it will likely have an MDM app baked into the firmware that you cannot remove without root; unfortunately, root is not possible without unlocking the bootloader, and unlocking the bootloader is not possible if OEM unlocking is not allowed in the ROM.

What works? Your question isn't clear.
Again: If you bought an Enterprise device, it is likely that you will NOT be able to remove the MDM app or root the device - regardless of the Android version.

My phone with mdm was working good with "verizon cell unlock" method (via adb) on Android 11.
For Android 12 that method is not working
I searching for another solution.
Now I removed com.android.vending (play market). Without play market device working well, but...no market.

It is an enterprise device - meaning, as I've pointed out, that the MDM app is integral with the firmware. This, coupled with the fact you cannot unlock the bootloader, severely limits what you can do with the device.
If you're specifically asking about carrier unlock to use it on a different carrier, that is a different topic that needs it own thread. Please do not hijack threads with off topic comments.

Help me understand. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
I just bought a used Pixel 5 and encountered an MDM lock. Phone was functioning fine on A11 but after upgrading to A12, the following message pops up and won't let me continue using the device:
"Your device controls by admin, all data will be wiped in 2 hours".
Resetting my device doesn't help, the same error comes back during Android setup.
The good news is that after contacting the seller they assured me that they will contact the original enterprise owner and that MDM unlocking can easily be done remotely. Bad news is that I'm assuming even after MDM unlock the bootloader will remain locked since this device obviously didn't come from Google directly. But fingers crossed.

Retrieve photos from a phone stuck in bootloop

Hi guys!
I have the redmi k20 pro premium china rom, but its currently stuck in a bootloop so I cant get past the booting-up screen nor can i use the fastboot feature.
However, I still really want to get my photos from the phone, I don't have any cloud services connected.
I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the photos since to get out of a bootloop I need to factory reset which will delete the memory.
Im willing to tear apart the phone however I doubt that will do anything?
Thanks in advance!!
(I wrote this question in the normal thread but found out there's a k20 specific one.)

Hey
Depending on what you did if your bootloader is unlocked you can use Mi Flash Tool and flash the Fastboot ROM if you can get to there. Just make sure to select Save user data. If you can't get into Fastboot Mode it is possible to get the Phone working anyway on another way but everything will be deleted.

When you turn on your phone, is there a lock sign? If yes it's unlocked and if no I don't know what to do because unlocking bootloader needs erasing everything. Maybe you can go to a repair shop which gives you somehow the photos back.

To unlock the Bootloader, the owner has to do procedures...
install tools, register account on the Xiaomi side, request unlocking, wait 7 days...
If you bought the phone from Xiaomi (not a second hand or from a reseller) and you are not familiar with all the above, then your BL is for sure locked
In Fastboot, run the command and it will tell you if the BL is locked or not:
fastboot oem device-info

Of course it will delete
But I said, if you IN THE PAST did not unlock Bootloader and did not buy it from a previous owner or reseller who did unlock, then the Bootloader is for sure locked since Xiaomi sells the phones with locked Bootloaders
Besides, if you cannot boot to the System, you cannot initiate now the procedure to unlock the Bootloader

Photos can be also automatically stored to Mi Account
But most simply, from time to time, connect the phone to PC by USB cable and copy /DCIM/Camera folder to the PC
No need for unlocking Bootloader, no need for cloud accounts, etc

Mi Cloud has 15 GB and Magisk Mod gives you unlimited. That's why I mentioned it. But without doing anything like that, you're right.
So theres no way to retrieve it if the boot loader is locked?
