Question Which phone to choose? - Redmi Note 10 Pro

If you have a choice between two phones which one would you choose?
As both phones are best according to their prices and specifications, which makes it harder to choose from
The few conditions are :
As I'm going to use it atleast 3 years
Amoled with 120hz is must
Back panel should be of glass
No cost cutting in the name of using lcd, plastic frame and plastic back
Good price to performance ratio
Availability of roms

I agree bro poco F2 pro is a great phone but since it's not available in my country and budget is also a concern it's not worth to go for it

I'd go with the Redmi.

According to notebookcheck the Poco X3 heats up to more than 40 degree Celsius when being used!
If you need a heating, take the Poco. The Redmi Note 10 Pro already is a bit above what I'd like as a reasonable temperature, but not THAT hot.
I took the Redmi Note 10 Pro, because I wanted dual SIM and an additional memory card. Otherwise I guess I would have preferred the 11 Lite 5G NE. It stays even cooler and is capable of 5G. Ok, the display only does 90Hz, but the CPU is faster. Guess that usually would be worth it.
What about Redmi Note 11S? Could that be an option?

9t pro camera vs realme x2 camera, what's better?

So I'm nearly going to bite the bullet and get a 9t (maybe just in new year...)
And then I start seeing stuff on the realme x2... Now I would rather have 9ts popup selfy than the tear drop, privacy concerns and aesthetics....
But the 90hz screen on the x2 has also intrigued me...
But I'm also really buying the phone for the cameras as well. I do YouTube videos and I'm looking for a phone with decent cameras. Trouble is I struggle to find good comparisons between these phones apart from a couple of side by side YouTube video, and the authors don't even talk about what's better where.
So has anyone really done a proper comparison? What camera does better colour accuracy? What's getting better detail and light?
The MP value on both phones is bogus as they're advertising the software upscaling value and not the sensors native resolution... Does anyone know what they really are?
And is the 90hz really that much better?
I'm still leaning towards the 9t pro, but should I?
Compared to 9T Pro, X2 Pro camera has lower noise at night mode, and better dynamic range (both in HDR mode or not).
But it has less contrast, which can be affected to the details even with that big 64MP resolution.
The color production for me is way more natural at X2 Pro, 9T Pro got over-saturated mostly, but that's matter of choice though.
The ultra-wide mode on X2 Pro already has AF on it (unlike 9T Pro, which still using fixed focus).
Also, don't forget about macro lenses on the X2 Pro too.
> And is the 90hz really that much better?
Yes, it's like night and day. it feels way more smoother than regular 60Hz display.
Well it's not actually usable at gaming scene, but it's still satisfying to use at daily cases.
For camera i prefer 9T. Because Xiaomi doing really awesome tweaks in cameras, dxo mark of 9T is greater than pixel 3.
Xiaomi really improved a lot in camera, also in OS updates ...
I was on the same boat as you, before I chose to pick Mi 9T Pro over Realme X2 Pro, and I've tried both phone up-close before I made my decision. Anyway here is purely my opinion on both phone.
Realme X2 Pro
+ 90Hz display. (Undeniably nice)
+ Faster processor.
+ Stereo speaker with Dolby but the top speaker noticeably weak.
+ Official HDR10+ certified.
+ Very slightly faster fingerprint scanner.
+ UFS 3.0.
+ Very fast charging, although the phone does get warmer than K20 Pro on fast charging.
+ PDAF even on ultrawide lens.
Mi 9T Pro / K20 Pro
+ Overall better camera output despite equipped with older/lesser hardware. (My priority)
+ Wider FoV ultrawide-angle lens.
+ Laser AF, important for low-light close-up shot.
+ Notch-free display.
+ Slightly better display color-accuracy albeit without HDR10+ support. (2nd priority)
+ Very slightly longer screen on time.
+ Better aesthetic IMO.
+ Better software support both for users and developers.
+ Bit cheaper.
In conclusion, given the price, Realme X2 Pro is a good choice for gamer or if photo quality is not necessarily important to you (I'm a media photographer). Its not bad at all, its just my personal judgement from my experience fiddling around with both phone. As for performance, both performs identical in day to day usage but there is a catch, SD 855+ run games at 90FPS (not much games for now) will sometimes reach thermal-throttling threshold a bit quick, so I suggest leave it at 60, and dont worry, its still smooth.

General I already regret buying redmi note 9

This phone seems so much better for a better or the same price or lower price

Fortunately, I keep thinking that I'll go for either Redmi Note 9 Pro or POCO X3 NFC from last months. But thanks for my "patience skill" so I could save my money to consider this phone.

i'll probably upgrade in 2 or 3 years to the newest redmi phone if they keep getting out phones like this
this phone is absolutely amazing for the price hopefully redmi note 11 will also be the same if not even better
also poco x3 users are absolutely SEETHING
Using redmi note 7 from 2019, was looking for a good option for upgrade. I guess I got the perfect one, Redmi Note 10 Pro.

I wouldn't say many poco x3 are seething. spec wise is practically the same except the AMOLED and camera. I'm happy with good panel LCD screen on the x3- won't need to worry about burn-in/bleed if one is a heavy gamer. x3 is still one beast of a phone for the price!
Well Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global) and Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite (Global) are the two phones I'm looking for which for the 6/128 GB variant seem to cost just about the same (~265 €). My focus is on:
DualSIM, dedicated microSD, good stabilized video 1080p and possibly also 4k, very good day and ok night pictures, fast cpu/gpu (Antutu over 250k), Fast LTE with Bands 3,20,7,1,32 (8,38,28a), 3.5mm-Jack.
Both devices have those features. Unfortunately no Snapdragon 8 series devices with dedicated microSD and 3.5mm-Jack exist, so I need to stick to this lower mid-range class.
Redmi Note 10 Pro real advantage of 108 Mpx Samsung5K HM2 f/1.9 over 64 Mpx Sony IMX682 Exmor RS f/1.89 needs to be proven by side by side dedicated picture and video test. With GCam probably because of the slightly better processor in the Mi 10T Lite (Snapdragon 750G) it seems possible to activate EIS for 4k Videos. With Snapdragon 732G this seems unlikely to be possible. Also Mi 10T Lite has 3 of the 4 important 5G Bands in my area, could not find info that a Note 10 Pro Snapdragon Upgrade to 5G will be released (Global, the Note 10 5G is based on MediaTek).
So the advantages of Note 10 Pro (AMOLED, 108 Mpx, Radio FM) currently seem less important then those of Mi 10T Lite. I will wait until detailed camera comparisons are available, possibly with GCam for both devices.
EDIT: I need to correct that Mi 10T Lite (Global) according to several reviews on YouTube has no dedicated microSD (only hybrid DualSIM). Many techsheets online seem to have dedicated. This is a bummer and will leave only Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global) as candidate for my next buy.
5x optical zoom would have sold me, guess ill have to wait for another phone

Been using xiaomi devices since redmi 2 prime, their phones are either hit or miss. Sometimes they absolutely cheap out on hardware. My current redmi note 7 has a LCD panel and it shows signs of screen burn. These manufacturers are pumping out phones without worrying about quality and overall experience.

i had the lg v20 and it was supposedly a "flagship lg phone" but it was just a mess the two screen design didn't look at all and there was a lot of burn in
i didn't even know LCD panels can get burn in until i got that phone
Thing is the redmi note 9 variants have good, stable roms by now but it took months and months to get there, which was an exercise in frustration I'm not going to go through again, so I'm perfectly fine with my 9s and will get this one once/if there are solid roms available with all bugs squashed. Not interested in smelly Mi Ui.

The first stable (GSI) ROM was from sooti. Other non GSI ROMs weren't maintained long before you had to switch to another ROM. That's a pain.
I hope the Redmi Note 10 Pro or newer Poco phones will get better community support.

Need to rant again: I do not understand why in every series and also other brands with a better CPU (Snapdragon 8 series) they omit the microSD slot (not even shared) and in most cases also the 3.5mm-Jack. Is Google enforcing this?
The Redmi Note 10 Pro with Snapdragon 888 (865 also ok) and maybe better RAM specs would be awesome.
Don't worry. Exchange it with note 9 pro, you'll get a wholesome discount of 100$ or 9000₹.

Yeah, but why has it more interfaces-expansion-ports/connectivity then Xiaomi top phones? I would pay more and think the CPU, microSD slot and Jack alone would not make the phone much more expensive (like 600 $ or more). At least Redmi K40 Pro with Snapdragon 888 does cost only ca. 460 $ but has no microSD slot and no 3.5mm-Jack. Since everyone, not only Xiaomi, is doing it I do not understand it: why not use the integration of those two features as advantage to the competition? There must be some hidden policy behind this IMHO
Hah: It almost seems Xiaomi did use the strategy I wanted at least for the Poco X3 Pro (PX3P) presented yesterday! It has a shared/hybrid microSD slot and 3.5mm-Jack paired with a Snapdragon 860 - Antutu ~486k. By comparison the Snapdragon 732G in the Redmi Note 10 Pro (RN10P) has Antutu ~288k - Snapdragon 865 has Antutu ~615k and Snapdragon 888 has Antutu ~730k - so not top flagship performance but solid medium/premium territory, while the Snapdragon 732G now seems more budget level: even the Snapdragon 678 in the Redmi Note 10 (available for under 200$) delivers Antutu ~277k.
In addition PX3P has the advantage of UFS Storage 3.1 against UFS Storage 2.2 in RN10P. But it lacks FM Radio, AMOLED and also has no 5G. The "better" POCO F3 also presented yesterday by comparison is a rebranded Redmi K40 Pro (for Global) with Snapdragon 870 and 5G but no microSD (some sheets say it has Independent SD slot) and no 3.5mm-Jack and also good prices. The Poco F2 Pro at least has the 3.5mm-Jack.
Of course the camera in the PX3P seems disadvantaged with 48MP, f/1.79 IMX582 Exmor for the main lense, but fast CPU and memory are attractive for fast video editing etc. I will try to compare reviews with a focus on 4k EIS and 1080p EIS Video.
It's crazy how Xiaomi is coming up with these phones. Xiaomi is just competing with itself for 350USD and below phones right now

I agree. Some small competitors like Realme and Vivo try to deliver similar price/performance, but because much less models will be selled, much lower community support regarding GCam, CustomROMs (like Xiaomi.eu/mi-globe, AOSP/LOS based, etc.) will be available and so in my case much less attractive at similar price.
OnePlus has left this price territory and other interesting devices from Asus, Google, Samsung, Motorola just miss features and/or cost too much in comparison.
The thing I would like to see on sub 350$ Xiaomi phones is OIS (optical image stabilization) paired with gyroscope EIS stabilization to get top notch videos at 1080p or even 4k and at the same time less shaky/blurry images. But it seems Megapixel of the sensor are the stronger (selling) argument for the time being. In my case a top quality 12-18 Megapixel image is more then enough, I dislike the washed out details at zoom 1:1 of Smartphone best resolution pics on a Monitor screen.

Question Vivo X70 pro or X60T pro plus

Hi,
I currently own the Vivo X51 and am pretty happy, but wanted to upgrade because the phone goes to my daughter.
I wanted to stick with Vivo and saw on "trading Shenzhen" that they have both phones mentioned in the headline for nearly the same price. The specs are nearly identical, so for wihich one should I go? By the way, I am living in Germany - any restrictions here?
My main goal in upgrading is photography performance.
Thanks for your help and comments.
The camera on the x60 pro plus is much better than the x70 pro and so is the performance sd888 is a flagship chip in comparison to the one on x70 which is an Exynos 1080 or the dimensity 1200 which differs across regions. Both of which are upper mid-range chipsets
If you are looking for a premium flagship feel go for the x60 pro plus but if u want more battery life the x70 pro is better
Overall it depends on your needs
If u value a killer camera and performance more than the battery life then it's the x60 pro plus
X70 pro has a better battery and some might argue that the dimensity 1200 is more than enough for the normal usage scenario the sd 888 is a chip which runs a but hotter than normal sd chipsets
But after using the x60 pro plus for a month I haven't faced any situation wherein the phone throttled hard nor became too hot to touch it has impressive thermal management in comparison to the other sd 888 phones
Hi,
I am now proud owner of the X60t pro plus. Great device. The only Thing which bothers me is the fact that in Video mode you get in 4k and FHD 60p not the 5x camera.
Or is it just me?
Congratulations on the purchase
I am currently running the funtouch 12 global
And I can access 8k and 4k60 using the 5x but I think they digitally crop in for that zoom ranges
And when using the pro video mode
The 5x only allows 1080p so I think everyone's having the same issue
And I dnt think they wud address it using updates or anything as it would probably be a hardware limitation on the sensor front used for optical 5x lens on the x60
What is pro Video mode? I don't have this. And why so you think the 5x in 4k is a crop, don't they Show you the Icon Like in 1080?
Btw, Mine is running in Origin OS
Hello again. Nobody else has this issue?

Question Pocof3 vs oneplus10t, battle of speed.

Hello all, there is this game i play; bus simulator Indonesia. Many of my friends play this game, all of them has high end device with powerful snapdragon chips, 6 months ago one of my friend bought poco f3 that has sd870 5G clock rate 3.20ghz. I was using a oneplus 7tpro McLaren 855+ at 2.98ghz which served me well, but than comes the poco f3. Which was insanely fast. In this game loading next map is a big deal, newer chipset and faster clock rate translates to faster loading, i was happy with my 7tpro, at times i saw it had beat rog 5 in terms of loading speed. So 3 months ago i got the oneplus 10pro 8 gen 1, but still i couldn’t beat the loading speed of poco f3, i did some research and i found out It's due to the clock speed. 10pro has a clock rate of 3.0ghz. So i wasn’t happy with the performance from 10pro, because it Couldn't beat the poco f3 which was 3x cheaper than 10pro. So 10 days ago i got the oneplus 10t, that has 8gen+1 clock rate 3.19ghz 16gb edition and here comes the shocker, my 10t still falls short when compared to the loading speed of poco f3, i Couldn't believe what was happening. How is the poco f3 still so much faster than 10t?? I Don't know what to do now, i was kind of embarrassed because i told everyone my 10t would be faster than the poco f3, now i am thinking about unlocking bootloader and overclocking my 10t. Any ideas on this matter is highly appreciated. Thankyou.

Yes, it's always on and it's useless, there's no difference to be honest.
It's nothing to do with clock speeds.. unless it's an identical processor.
Chances are the Poco has a lower screen resolution, if you're running your phone in QHD mode then you're pushing a tonne more pixels than any of the Poco devices.
Lower your resolution to FHD+ then retry.
Another thing to note is that not all processors are made equally, some just perform better than others and this unfortunately is a lottery, you simply don't know what you're going to get.
What firmware are you running? If it's Android 13 then it'll probably run better but will overheat quicker and as such will result in throttling.
If you're rooted then grab Franco kernel manager and tweak your clock speeds for the GPU and CPU or even the governor.
If you're not rooted then you'll have expanded RAM turned on, this will result in slower performance in regards to gaming performance as the DDR RAM used is faster than the storage swap file.
Lastly, the load time of the game has nothing to do with how well it plays, the FPS dictates the performance of a CPU/GPU.
You can get games/apps to load quicker by tweaking a setting to make apps load faster, check settings for this.
One more thing is what is your Poco friend running? If it's a custom ROM then they may already be pushing their device beyond its stock capabilities.
The 8 gen 1 should definitely be quicker than any of the Poco devices.
Download AetherX2 and grab a PS2 game like Tekken Tag (must own original) then see how your phone performs compare to the Poco, it should make it look weak as hell.
Its All About Optimization.
You can overclock or just disable thermal throattling to gain more performance..
I'm coming from Poco f3 overclocked..
There is alot of differences btw these two devices..
You have to do Optimizations to gain high level performance.
1. Root Op10 Pro
2. Install Thermal throattling Magisk module
Or
After Rooting Install Uperf Module and select Performance Governor..
Op 10 Pro Is Far ahead of Poco F3
Edit: I'm Stuck while Over-Clocking Op10pro Because of Vbmeta Verity.. If i'm able to get it work then it'll be +37% Performance then Stock 8gen1

You honestly don't need to overclock the 8 gen 1. The hardest thing you can throw at it is AetherX2, beyond that there isn't anything much it can't do

Thankyou.

I've experienced the same as you, because previously I've owned and Asus Rog Phone 5 with SD888, but when I've get the OP10 Pro, I've immediately noticed that OP10Pro feels the same or even worse , talking about app speed opening and overall performance, so for my luck another Asus Rog phone 5 come to my hands, it was only the 8gb/128gb version, however i've tested side by side and figure out that the ASUS was effectively faster than the OP10pro, and even made an Antutu and Geekbench 5 test on both and i cant believe, that the Asus got a better score on both synthetic benchmarks.
Then I've made a deal with the Rog phone 5 , so I've got and Xiaomi Mi11 T pro with SD 888 and same result, plus the Xioami feels more fluid and responsive.
Even i've thought it can be related to the Android 13 open beta 2 I was, downgrade to A12 to test, and worst results.
Very disappointed with Oneplus, I'm actually selling the phone to bought and Asus Rog phone 5s, saving almost 200 bucks.
