Its a bit of confusion, because they launched a leaked of Mi A1 and says its android one,
while earlier it was said Mi 5x is androd one.
Im also waiting for their releasing and hoping it to buy it if it is Mi 5x.
if Mi A1 becomes android one it will not be budget friendly or a mid ranger

Perhaps, but you're better off asking in the forum section for the Redmi Note 4.. this is the forum section for the Mi 5X.
Sent from my MI 5X using Tapatalk
as per i saw the specifications the hardware matches a lot both mi 5x and mi a1.. so yeah devs should be able to port the rom..

Use the button mapper app from play store; you don't need root to use it, but to customize the home button, you'll need the pro version (INR 30/-).
Are we going to have a official page for Mi A1

Is it possible to use POCO roms on the Mi 8?

I did a quick search but did not find anything, apologies if its been discussed.
Since the poco f1 seems to have a ton of dev support I was wondering if it was possible to boot a poco rom, either directly or with minimal modifications, since they share much of the same hardware and a common kernel. I found an example of the opposite scenario in which a Mi 8 rom was ported to the poco f1 (Link), but does anyone have any experience of doing the opposite? The poco f1 got an official pixel experience pie rom today, and has many other official ports which all seem great.

I believe the dev support is due to the bugs found on it. It runs MIUI, but as far as I have read it has bugs that our device does not. This is most likely why our device rom was ported over. It is also possible that they were still on MIUI 9 and wanted MIUI 10. While they may be the same, differences on the two will cause issues for one or the other. If I'm not mistaking, the first issue would be the differences in bands, which is a big one (not to mention, MIUI 10 based on Pie should be arriving for us shortly.) This is the same for the custom roms. It is highly unlikely that you can flash a rom from the Poco on the Mi 8. Then there is the anti rollback problem which you have to be careful about as well...

Question Mi 11 Calls App

Hello everyone,
I have the global ROM on my Mi 11, and I must say that there is nothing I hate more than the standard google app for calls,
is there any way to change it for the Xiaomi app, any ROM or any way to change that ?
Thank you,
Regards
Xiaomi.eu rom, miuimix rom or oneos rom, basically any mi 11 rom that uses the china firmware will do.

Why? This app is much better and more functional than MIUI Dialer, especially outside China or India.

Honestly many times I answer and touch the record button with my cheek, and it announces "the recording of this call has started" and since I use this phone for work it's one of those shames I cannot describe, and we can only disable this on other firmwares

Question IR blaster apps and Mi 11

Hi to all.
I joined the forum to ask if any Xiaomi mi 11 owner has any experience with the Anymote IR remote control app.
Is it working with the mi 11?
Maybe other IR apps? Although I'm asking for (the now discontinued) Anymote app because it's highly customisable and I made a lot of dedicated remote controls.
I'm between mi 11 and 12 Pro to buy one of these days because of the IR blaster. Otherwise I might go for a Samsung or other phone, if you tell me it's not working.
TIA

it's just my opinion but I wouldn't go with a Mi 11 as it's is very prone to get EDL mode and honestly the updates for MIUI 13 even stable builds are super buggy. Custom ROM Development is also not as active as other devices. Honestly if I didn't have these devices and I knew about it more before I wouldn't have bou

So, your advice is to go for one of the Samsungs like the S21 plus or even the S21 FE?
The main reason that I'm thinking of Xiaomis is the "IR blaster" (you didn't tell me if you are using it or if you know if it works with that brilliant app Anymote Remote Control). But I do want a good camera for videos too.

I use the Xiaomi remote app and some.other and it did work, but yes these device unfortunately the hardware is good but the software side sucks tons. Believe me your better off without it.

I have to disagree with you on the mi 11, I've had mine for over a year now and I've not had any problems with it. EDL mode only happens in in a few ways, if your beta testing or unofficially install an update and the update is corrupted as global releases are stable. I know this as I've been testing the miui 13 officially for a few months, the other way you end up on EDL mode is if you flash a custom ROM incorrectly or a corrupt custom ROM, and there is some out there, install a Chinese version of miui on a global phone or vice versa will also brick the phone. play a core intensive game while charging the battery can damage the phone and cause it to go into EDL mode. There is no software in the world that's perfect and bug free.
As I have said I've not had any problems with my Mi11 and I have used custom ROMs on this device. If you're looking for a phone for every day use and the IR blaster this is a good phone.
