Here is the tutorial. Didn't try that. If anyone tries, please give some feedback

I downloaded it on my phone and tried installing through the file Manager but IT says "parsing error". Trying from the Recovery also seems not possible, at least I guess, I pressed the Install Update Button, can't read Chinese.

Two translated Screens as an Attachment.
Someone told me that you have to flash the chinese Version first within the recovery and then the indian.
Could you try that?
But for the chinese Version you need an vpn to the vivo.cn

vivo Support isn't giving me any help, advice or whatsoever, just some automated answers from their own FAQ. Was expected, but I tried.

Hi,
I have tried the same thing, with same results ... not working. All I can say is that the chinese version of the ROM is not available on the chinese Vivo website, don't know why.
Do you want to change in order to test the Funtouch OS, or for some other reason ?

For me, I just dont wanna "test" Funtouch OS, I think its much better for an European User since Google Services arent really supported in Origin OS.

It's the same in my case...
And there must be a way to do this.

What services in particular ? I must say I don't see any issues for me so far. Btw, I wish I could test Funtouch anyway

I want to grab the chinese firmware in order to try rooting by flashing Magisk Patched Boot Image using Fastboot. Not sure this may work, though I want to give it a try at least.
Hope the chinese firmware will be available soon ...

Here is another firmware and the size is different....what do you think?

Unfortunatly you need an premium account.

@Eric-Mod and @Keiz74 : Did you clean up the data/partition in the recovery before flashing the ROM?

Has anybody done it?

Just tried to flash that global rom from india and unsuccessful too. Recovery dont accept global rom and Im having problems with google contacts sync, cant get it to work.

Good Morning
To sync your Gmail contacts you need to download "google contacts Sync apk" from the web.
The idea of overwriting the global version with Funtouch OS is a very good one. However Origin OS works fine with the latest Vivo updates.
Just run adb to disable Chinese bloatware.
The only thing I really miss is Android Auto and that the preloaded application cloning app (Settings / Applications and permissions / Application cloning) is compatible with WhatsApp.
The latter I could solve with WhatsApp Business.
The Android Auto bug with the floating window permissions I could also fix it using adb but unfortunately there is no connection with the vehicle's infotainment system.
Has anyone got a solution?
Greetings

Upgrading Redmi 9 questions

Hello peeps,
I recently purchased a Redmi 9, it came with MiUI Global 11.0.7 Stable (QJCLMCR). I've been trying to update it through the phone butI haven't been able. Some friends that already have MiUI 12 told me thatsince I purchased it through the phone compnay they modify the ROM to add their apps and stuff anf that may be what's preventing me from updating and I'd have to update it manually if I didn't weant to wait.
I googled how to do it manually and it involded downloading the ROM but they seem to have a different version than mine (QJCLMCR) I don't know if this would work with mine or if I should check anything before installing it. I seriously don't want to mess up my phone so I'd appreciate any help with this. Does this would work with my version or do I have to look somewhere else?

In addition, if I update this manually would I be able to delete my phone company's bloatware and stuff like that or do I have to root the phone after / before updating? I'd appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks!

Bro , from which country do you come from? it seems you are from Colombia . You have an operator modified version of miui, in your case I think it's Claro. You cannot update manually, nor use one of those roms in the image since you can hard brick your phone. You have two options: Wait for your carrier to release the update (which usually never happens) or change to the Global Rom, you must unlock the bootloader and flash via MiTool.
And you can remove the Preinstalled apps with ADB ! (you must be careful!). Cheers!!!

Question [SOLVED] Having Trouble Updating to MIUI 12.5

Hi, I recently got myself the Redmi Note 10 Pro and it came with a stock ROM of MIUI 12.0.2 Stable (RKFZAVC).
I live in South Africa, hence the "ZA" in "RKFZAVC".
I of course went to the settings and tried updating to the latest stable version of the ROM as I have been seeing videos online about MIUI 12.5. I had no luck there... It tells me that there aren't any Updates available.
So my second idea was to download the ROM myself and load it onto the phone and use the "Choose update package" option from the update screen. I had no luck with this either; Firstly I cannot find the RKFZAVC version of the ROM anywhere online. And secondly downloading a global ROM or an EU ROM, does not work, as the phone does not see them as "official".
I did some more research and then found the Mi PC Suite Tool (http://pcsuite.mi.com/). I booted into recovery, signed into the software, and tried doing an update through "Update>R. Flash". This method actually found an updated RKFZAVC ROM and started downloading it.
Now my problem is, as soon as the download reaches 50%, my phone restarts into the "System" and because of that the update fails, with the software prompting me with the message: "Couldn't Update. Sign in to your Mi Account".
I tried this once or twice again, and the same thing happens.
PS: The bootloader is still locked. But I have linked the Phone to my Mi Account, following the steps laid out in the settings page under developer options.
So I guess my question(s) is are:
Does anyone know what could be causing the 50% issue? Could it be because of the bootloader not being unlocked?
Does anyone know where I would be able to download my South African ROM(RKFZAVC) to maybe try "Choose update package" again?
Any help/point in a direction would be much appreciated . If push comes to shove, I'll just wait my 7 days, and flash something custom.
Thanks in advance.
I have found a solution. I realised that the MiPCSuite after the initial download to 50% always started from 50% again. So I had to assume the files were downloaded somewhere... In the MiPCSuite settings, you can set your download directories, but there is one that is not displayed there, but the folder is on the same level as the two directories...
It should look something like this: "D:\Xiaomi\MiPhoneManager\OTA"
Where "D:" can be exchanged with whatever your drive letters are set to.
I copied that file over to my phone, did the "Choose update package", and now I have MIUI 12.5.
Hi, I am also from South Africa. I actually just changed the region in settings to India, checked for update, and my phone was updated to MIUI 12.5.2 (Redmi note 10 pro). To what MIUI version was your phone updated to through the Mi software?

It updated to MIUI 12.5.2 as well, but of course, the South African version, which I quickly realised is restricted to some nice features.

I noticed the restriction to some of the features shown in YouTube videos as well, so it updated to the same version as yours. I was hoping for 12.5.8 which is latest global version, but no luck.

You don't need to reflash. There is a Magisk module, which installs stock dialer and sms alongside Google ones. If recording doesn't work - install the APK

You need to wait for bootloader to unlock (Data will be erased btw, Google policy) and install Magisk (instruction on XDA). And then just install this module in magisk app. Ez asf

I'm very curious about this as well.
This popped up yesterday and contradicts our current knowledge about not being able to use TWRP for A12/Miui13. Hope that someone will shed some light on this.
As this is a stock recovery ROM, you need stock recovery to flash it.

ok, but the files you guys upload are 2 and not just one zip.. how can you flash this in een twrp then
That's a misunderstanding. The Fastboot Files are NOT for TWRP meant. The recovery files can be flashed through TWRP. The newest one for 22.1.5 is only one file. But still only Fastboot. You need to extract the contect of the "zip" - it will automatically extract also from z01. They are one archive split on 2 files. As I already mentioned the newest beta is now just one big file.

Question Replacing China ROM with EU ROM

I'm getting ready to change to an EU or Global ROM as soon as they are published. For previous OP phones, you would just go to https://www.oneplus.com/global/support/softwareupgrade , download the ROM, copy in the root folder of the phone and simply install it via System > System updates > Local upgrade. Once done, restarting and clearing the cache would be enough to enjoy the different stock ROM.
I can't find a Local upgrade in the new ColorOS, the closest thing is "Trial versions".
Is it possible to simply install a different region ROM without unlocking bootloader, etc? I'm waiting for the EU or Global ROMs to be released to try it myself but so far I'm a bit confused by the India ROM installation posts floating around.
Can anyone clarify if OnePlus has removed the simple Local upgrade or the current posts are dealing with some sort of ripped ROMs that require the additional installation hassle of unlocking bootloader to work?

Confirmed, it shows up as "Local install" although it's greyed out (?)
Would oxygen updater work for this? The software will automatically recognise the phone and download the ROM, you'd need to choose full update.
Then use fastboot to flash each image directly to each partition.
All images can be found within a full firmware within payload.bin, use payload dumper to extract the images and flash.
Haven't done this myself but it's possible it may work.

He's already changed region as far as I can tell, but the bloat is still present..
Might be worth trying another firmware tbh..
Local install is greyed out because there is an update pending. Put the phone offline, make hidden files visible and delete the update files or simply reset the phone, do not connect the WiFi during setup and activate developer options.
In any case, I've tried EU/IN official full ROM and both fail. This used to work just fine but seems to be gone now. Other users using using alternate methods to flash the EU ROM report Chinese bloatware still present, so looks like the install is not clean.
What a disaster.
