error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds - no idea whats do next :( - LG V40 Questions & Answers

I bought a LM-V450ebw Dual SIM with android 8x, probably HongKong distribution. I've beed trying to flash it to EU/Polish ROM (android 10) with no possitive effect (I want to have volte and wifi calling - that's the main reason to update).
I've beed trying LGUP 1.14-1.16 with different LGDLL but no way to overcome "error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
Finally I tried to update to android 10 Hong Hong version and I succeeded (v30b-lao-yt). But still no success in moving to EU/Polish ROM (android 10) via LGUP - "error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
It looks like, there is no problem to move between HK version but no way to move from HK -> UE/Polish.
Of course LG Bridge doesn't help much.
What's wrong? Is there any way to do it without rooting?

For most of the variants all that's needed to crossflash is to use 1.14 and choose 'partition download'. But the HK dual sim variant is a pia. You can lose one or both sims if not done correctly.
I'd suggest, in rom forum see initial thread for lineage os and find invite to join v40 tele group. Ask there as those guys have much more international experience especially with dual sim variants.
cheers

Similar problem wit a new LM-V405EBW running Android 9 sec patch 1 June 2019
It is supposed to be an European version, came with a EU charger ...
Current software V20a-LAO-YT
Checked with a IMEI checker that said it is a DEC region phone.
It seems LG has removed V40 Thinq from the supported devices,
cannot get any OTA updates :-(
I want to install V405EBW30d_00_OPEN_EU_DS_OP_1223.kdz
latest DEC firmware I think.
When I try LGUP i get the same error mess as above
"error: 0x6004, crossdl open_hk_ds>open_eu_ds"
Tried both "refurbish" and "update" same error.
I don't mind to wipe the phone clean,
but when i select the "Partition DL" i get more than 10 options,
which one(s) should i select ?
Hope I can get some advice.

all of them except ftm. Then, when it finishes and reboots, do the refurbish (twice) with the same kdz.

Evening! I bring you a solution, it seems a strange solution, but after weeks of trying anyway, the only one that did not occur to me, is to disconnect it while I was flashing the rom that I put wrong to downgrade it, i cause a provocated brick, what is my surprise when insert the IBR rom (before it had the TIM) it started flashing without problem.
Mobile to repair: Lg K41S (LMK410EMW)
Use this version of the LGUP flash tool: LGUP_Dev-1.14 (patch)

[Q] Not a retail device

I tried to flash a rom in my phone but every time when I does this, just before the flashing begins, the update program ends with: No retail device and I cannot continue.
It goes fine into download mode. Any clues ?
I'm guessing the Samsung updater knows that the device shouldn't be available and so will not update it. I don't know if there is a way around this.
EDIT: Should just check, is your device retail? Or is it some other version of the Omnia you've got?
Casey
It isn't a retail device. It came in an unmarked box. I have had my share of devices that were not supposed to be flashed over the last years and still managed to flash them. But this is a tough one. Cannot find a way to do this.
On second thought: Is there another flash program available ? Looks like the retail flasher checks if it is retail. (It will be after I flashed it).
It outputs this error:
[Channel 0] Confirm Model Name
[Channel 0] FLASH LOCK
No other solutions available ?
Not that I've seen
I have exactly the same problem. My device comes from the batch of the early prototypes and I can't flash it to a new firmware. Neither it updates to 7008 through Zune as it always says the phone is up-to-date.
Big shame, I'm stuck to the 7004... Any idea for solution?
I suppose you could try contacting Samsung? Maybe visit one of their service centres to see if they can flash it for you?
Casey
@Ivoky
Mine is too but it is updated to 7008. Guess I can update it to NoDo too with the instructions on the Omnia general forum. But the receptance is much better with the latest firmware. That is why I would like to upgrade.
For the Samsung Taylor you have to use the ChevronWP7 NoDo Updater to update the phone to NoDo.
did you find any solution to update?

[Q] LG KU5900 updated, crashed and...

long story short....
i received a unit from a friend in korea (version with the olleh logo).
LG KU5900, updated using LGs downloadable updater, my mistake is that i didnt read up on the "proper procedure" of updating this one unit.
options on updating, i changed the country to my local (philippines). then proceeded with updating, about 3-5% it crashed while flashing it.
i tried using v10a as alternative, managed to flash it somewhat successfully, but lo and behold, no IMEI, no GSM signal.
i was wondering this unit only and will only accept v20l in its general function? or im sure i did or didnt do something right.
i used KDZ updater with the windows enable and whatnots.
im hoping this unit still has a chance of being reflashed to its former glory with a signal on it.
any ideas, opinions, suggestions, advices for a flash tool that will render this functional once more?
here's where the unit at.
functional, boots up, wifi bluetooth gps works. before that eventful update, the phone works, call and all, i can receive sms but cant send one.
what doesnt work. local gsm network (wcdma, i think). since when i flashed this, i left the kdz updater type on CDMA since there's no gsm/wcdma option to boot.
questions of mine...
can this be flashed using v10a since this is the native for philippines? or do i go back to v20l which is for korea?
which flash tool to use to activate gsm/wcdma?
links to tools? hopefully not megaupload.
guides?
any and all will help.
thank you very much.
ps - been reading up on gabwerk's (did i spell his name right?). on finding a clue to fix this.
pps - flashed this about 4-5 times already, no luck.
tried flashing with 3GQCT, still no luck on having signal.
KU5900 and P970 have different radio roms... Because you flashed P970's firmware, your modem (radio) isn't working.
Flash your phone with KDZU with one of these firmwares.
Or try again to flash in LG Mobile UPdater. It will download correct firmware by your IMEI number.
err yeah, that i did the first time when it crashed. must be compatibility with win 7 64.
KU5900 >> LG updater "country philippines language english" crashed while uncompressing.
already have the korean firmwares, im looking for an updater with a "wcdma or gsm" option on radio types.
so far kdz updater by marwin doesnt have that, only CDMA, 3GQCT, INFINEON, ODM...

You didn`t understand ! if your phone has cdma radio on it you cannot flash gsm or wcdma because radio chip will not accept. There are differences between frecvences.
aye, right now, managed to get it up and running, but somewhat still unstable, i cant download games on it, not even fruit ninja lolz. it kept saying insufficient memory.
Try to do a factory reset, often solves such problems, and if problems persist, try to flash it again.
...
ok guys.
used lge tool from a friend of mine, he fixed the eprom that was causing the initial error on the "no network / no signal" issue.
still on froyo v10a, then updated to v11c using updater, which turns out to be bouy update. now i got a french OS arrrrggggghhhh!!!!
right now, looking for GB update guide.
anyone with pointy ears can point me to the right direction?
ps - anyone got any good pointers on how to use the inactive 5gig? currently splicing v20l for comparisons with 10a and 11c...

lg P925p differences.?

Well, this is the third thrill under warranty I get. This one still arrived with froyo. I cant seem to update to gingerbread with the lg updated. Tried following the kdz installation post but would not flash., kept telling me the phone was up to date. Any clues..? This will be my test phone as I just got a vivid.
You have to follow the directions on how to flash kdz and returning to stock tread in development thread
From what I know, the P on the end is just specific to the carrier,I am on rogers and mine ends in G(p925g) With so many different providers carrying eseentially the same phone, just different stock OS bloated with their provider junk LG has to do something to seperate the devices based off carrier. I find it strange that you cannot update,as it seems that there is an official ATT update for GB now. Have you had any luck?
No luck, att has a regular P925, the P925p is very rare and will not update via the update. I tried the kdz flash instructions and did not work. I will try it on an xp machine as i did it on a windows 7.

I also have the p925p version I have tried updating to ICS, If you have the LG support tool and click customer support look under supporting models and the p925p can only be updated to v20p which is Gingerbread, look at the regular p925 and it says v30b which is ICS, any suggestions?
Does anyone know if the P925p can be manually updated to the official ICS with the kbz files?
The phone I have says p925 on it behind the battery and in the software, the only place where it says it's p925p is when trying to use the POS LG support tool. Tells me my phone is already up to date etc...
Looking to find out if this thing can be updated manually with the official ics from att or not.
So [email protected]#$ing annoying, twice it's started the upgrade for ICS with the LG Upgrade Too, but it eventually always stops with "problem communicating with phone" then when you restart the program it tells you no update for P925p phone is up to date.
Last time I did the phone recovery, and it automatically did a restore, then said there is an update for ICS, then back to the problem communicating BS (stops when it says checking phone #, I don't have a AT&T sim in there right now) I tried without a sim and with a t-mobile sim same issue. Eventually says no update available.
Has anyone been able to get ICS on the P925p version??
Edit: I was able to get the phone updated see below
Thanks
Just an update and some info to add about the P925p.
The P925p is the same as the P925, there is no difference. LG's Support Tool telling you that your phones is a P925p is bogus / a bug. I spent a few hours on the phone with LG support, several techs. They all confirmed that the phone is P925. P925p is the exact same phone, just when its in Korea, they will recognize it as a P925p. So ignore the POS LG Support tool telling you your phone is P925p and that there is no update available for your phone.
There is a way around this error (telling you your phone is P925p and no update available). Uninstall the LG Support Tool, uninstall the drivers and reinstall the drivers, install the LG Support Tool. Sometimes you need to install the driver from the Support Tool, instead of before.
Then it will tell you there is an update.
My issue was that it would begin the update but always stop and say "PROBLEM COMMUNICATING BETWEEN PHONE AND PC" so I could never get it to update.
I had to follow this guide to get it to update http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-unbrick-lg-thrill-4g-back-to-stock.html (make sure you pick the ICS KDZ file 30B when you get to that step so download that first)
Even using this guide I ran into the problem communicating between phone and PC error again, but just pushed restart a few times and it finally worked.
Bottom line is your phone is P925 not P925p
Note: If you still have issues with the LG Support Tool, sometimes picking Change Country and setting it to another country, then setting it back to USA helps.

Galaxy Note 5 N920V to N920 something else...

Morning there,
I've been reading all I've been able to since Monday here and also from search results in Google, but I still haven't got a clear idea if this is possible or not.
I live in UK and I've bought a new Galaxy Note 5, which I received last Saturday, the phone works fine, but it has a N920V firmware on it from Verizon US, and I want to get Android 7 on it.
Verizon hasn't updated the firmware for this phone since January this year, so no Android 7 on their network, at least I can't find any firmware on SamMobile.
I've downloaded Android 7 for it, but firmware N920C (for Turkey it seems...), I've tried to flash it with Odin v3.12.7, the phone has the FRP lock as OFF and I've gone into the developer options and turned ON usb debugging and OEM unlock, but Odin fails to flash it, I can still boot up the phone and use it as normal after Odin fails no issues, I just cannot flash it.
I don't want to root the phone, and I don't want to install any custom recovery or custom ROM either, I just want to install Android 7 and if possible have a firmware with less bloatware, hence I downloaded the N920C. I downloaded the latest N920C firmware available out of the 6 there is available, so if anyone here knows that I can use any of the other 5 and make it work I'll be happy anyway...
As always, many thanks for yourhelp in advance
Just contact me via whatsapp, and ill guide you. Because ive been pass the same problem with u.
+6282299180088
Can you explain it here? I don't use whatsup, sorry.
I've flahsed the phone with the latest Verizon firmware from SamMobile, I tried to flash it again with the N920C but didnt work.
Now with the latest Verizon firmware it always throws me an error when I restart the phone saying that the "SIM is not from Verizon", but still works on my EE SIM, so not too worried about that.
Also, I see now a red screen with Verizon name when I restart it, something I didnt have before....
Anyone knows how to get rid of these 2 things? or better even, how to flash the N920C firmware to it?
Thanks

SM-G900F - Need original firmware

Hi guys,
My S5 was on 6.0 and have upgraded to 9 Pie but something went wrong (or I screwed up something) and I need to re-upload the original firmware, unless you have better suggestion.
Currently, I have TWRP installed as well as Android 9, however, when I turn my S5 on, I get: Set Warranty Bit:Kernel
It stays there for 30 secs then the phone boots up and everything looks fine, it connects to wi-fi etc.
One other strange thing is that I get a message on the home screen saying: unsupported SanDisk SD Card
I tried a new one, same message.
Before I started this process, I connected the phone to my PC and copied both the Phone and the Card folders, so I am good, data wise.
Basically I was thinking to go back to the very first OS, I think 4.4.2 and then re-load Lineage 16 using TWRP.
If I read the baseband version # is: G900FXXU1ANCE
If the procedure above is correct, would you be able to provide me a link to download the firmware?
I tried all the known sites, but their speed sucks, so I thought to ask here as somebody may have a link.
I will use Odin latest version to install it.
Thank you!
Alex
Access to the original/official firmware for SM-G900F would be extremely helpful for me as well.
I'm running LOS 16 with pico GApps very happily on my S5, however I have mobile data connectivity issues. Data connects and disconnects at random; this is device-dependent (swapping the SIM into other devices gives fully functional data connectivity).
My baseband is G900FXXU1BOA3; I believe updating the modem might fix this?

Fox, you may download the official firmware at https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G900F/
Select your region to get the right ***.md5.tar file to flah via Odin latest.
This will reset your handheld to out of box - original recovery reinstalled - you must reflash it also via Odin if you want to go back to custom Rom..
Good luck
.
Thank you.
What would be my region?
I purchased it in the US unlocked, but US is not a choice when it comes to region.
Would I be able to see the region the phone is from from the baseband #?

If your reference to the baseband version# is correct -> G900FXXU1ANCE, then the region is BTU -> check this address to download the original firmware:
https://samsung-firmware.org/downlo...agon-__/1806/BTU/G900FXXU1ANCE/G900FOXA1ANCE/
After flash via Odin, reboot and optional reinstall TWRP via Odin to use other custom Roms.
Are you sure you did everything before resuming to scratch. Personaly I would have done the following:
- back up in TWRP (at least data) + back up in google drive if you use google or titanium, (anyway save your picts, ...) if rooted, it is possible to save the file containing SMS, ... search in XDA,
- format (not wipe) !!!! WARNING THIS WILL ERASE ALL !!!!!
- clean install the ROM (lineageOS or else) + optional Gapps (I use Pico),
- reboot and restore data (as shown in 2 above)
(The Roms I use on my two KLTE by personal preference order are Havoc, DotOS, Bootleggers, Resurection Remix, MSM-Extended. I also use LineageOS.

That site is very buggy, if I search my model and enter all the other info I get to Lollipop 5.0, if I click your link, although I am registered, it does not allow me to the link you provided, I mean I can get to it but when I try to login, it takes me back to the home page, so there is no way to get to your same link while being logged in.
How do I get do the download page it is a mystery to me.
Also, how do you know from the base band that it is BTU region?
Thank you

PS: I managed to use your link in IE, this site is stone age! Unbelievable, never seen a website like this, there are bugs everywhere.

Men, the subject of resuming to firmware has been discussed and is described in the net literature! e.g. in XDA Q&A.
This discussion is now not a thread anymore but a dialog and I’m sure it will be closed by XDA moderator for redundancy.
The warnings given when you flash a custom Rom are clear. It also implies “before all” to backup, but also keep all materials to resume to original firmware, …. Now I cannot help anymore because you have problem with downloading the firmware.
Last advice – google baseband# - there are probably other web options or torrents
!!!!Also use the thanks button!!!!

1. Its normal to have the "Set warranty: kernel" text. As my device does too. Just simply ignore it. It won't harm your device.
2. Basically you can search websites that had official Samsung stock firmware. Search your region of your device and (IMPORTANT!) your model, in your case, is G900F. (Wow same as mine but different region, Snapdragon rocks).
3. To your network problem, I think you need to wait. There is no other option.
Thanks!
Edit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715487
XDA forums has one. Tip: if your region isn't there, the replies have all the filmwares you can have.

I have downloaded the firmware and this evening I will try to upload it and see what happens.
I still I have no answer to my question: how did you figure out that my firmware is BTU?
I mean, I gave you my baseband version #: G900FXXU1ANCE and when you eventually find it in any firmware sites you are given the choice to choose among many countries, expect USA and Canada.
Since I bought the phone in the US I still wouldn't know which country the firmware is from.
Would you mind to shed some light on this?
Thank you!

I am not sure that message is normal, if you google it they all say it is an issue with the firmware and that you need to go back to the stock one to fix it.
Is there anyone else with lineage having that same message?
Also, when I try to format my SD Card, it gets stuck to 40% and then it goes to the homepage.
I tried also a brand new card, same story.
It gives a message but it goes away after a few secs., I believe it is a Java message, but I can try again and take a picture of it.
Thank you,

I tell you my experience:
No matter the country you bought your device. As example, I leave in France, I bought mine in Hong-Kong, but choose an international device (G900F).
Before flashing anything, I checked all information in settings and recovery.
Pict below is original out of box G900FXXU1BOC7
Recovery information after latest update G900FXXS1CQD1
It happened recently 2 times my device was stuck because encription issues – I recover by reflashing original G900FXXU1BOC7 via Odin
I personally downloaded firmware as G900F – BTU, because I check the version at each updates and this sticked to BTU ONLY.
May be the site SamMobile will be more meaningful for you, because you see Countries/Operators and updates history.
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s5/firmware/SM-G900F/BTU/
For your device, you have to grab the search to find the closest original (which you have) to latest update (if you have it).
For the Kernel yellow tag at warmup, this is done when you flash TWRP. No issues since 2 years operation with that using LineageOS, Havoc, DotOS, AOSP, Bootleggers, RR, ViperOS. If you flash original firmware, it will disappear because twrp is erased and original stock recovery flashed.

When it said that you go back to stock one to fix it. Then want if it is not stock? The message is still there. Its normal if you want to install a custom ROM other than the stock one. I reinstall the stock and install custom ROM again once. It still happened.
I don't know how to remove the text but still have a custom ROM tho.
As for the SD card message, I encountered times before. Maybe you need to format using the computer.

When I reflash the stock ROM TWRP is still there. However no "Set warranty: kernel" appeared. Maybe its just when you install a custom ROM or something, I don't know.
OK guys,
Lineage 16 is installed, everything went smoothly, however when I connect the USB, the phone just shows as 'SM-G900F' on my W10 PC and cannot be expanded, basically no Phone and SD Card folders.
I can see them in the phone no problem, but once I connect it, I am not prompted with the usual message on what I want to do, like file transfer etc. and on the left menu appears only the model of the phone.
I had no issues when I flashed the original firmware, so it must be related to Lineage.
I also installed the Android USB drivers, but no go.
Changing the USB Preferences, to PTP or File Transfer only allows me to see the phone, no SD.
I also tried a new SD, no success.
I am stuck again... Jeez it takes days to get this stuff to work, you do one step ahead and another back
Ideas?
Alex
Anyone?
Shall I ask the question in the Lineage section?
'Set warranty :kernel' means you are running a custom kernel. Any modified boot.IMG can cause this message. It doesn't mean you need to use stock room. This appears even in stock rom with magisk or SuperSU.
