My mi 9 seems to be able to only detect 1 finger. Completely wiped phone and problem still persist. Anyone with same issue or able to fix issue?

Happened the same issue to my Mi9. Multi touch was working normally but suddenly it stopped working while I was zooming on a web page. Then I made a factory reset but still didn't work. Today I updated to Miui 12 hopping the problem would be solved but still no success. I think this bug is related to Android 10 as I saw elsewhere someone rolled back to Miui 10/Android 9 and things got to normal. On the other hand this is not a hardware failure for sure since multi touch keeps working normally on apps running in game turbo mode.
So, has anyone found how to kill this annoying bug?

This issue is a shame for Xiaomi!
As far as I know the only solution is to downgrade to Miui10 and stuck on this version or take the risk to upgrade to Miui11 (not recommended for obvious reasons) or the fresh new Miui12. So far I've been using the "turbo game" thing to workaround the bug. I had to install some alternative apps from Google Play (such as Chrome Beta, other gallery app, Google Maps Go...) to use instead of the stock apps so I can use them with "turbo" and get pinch to zoom working. This is not the best way to solve the issue -- the ideal is to get multi touch back working again without the need to resort to any tricks -- however it works very well. Maybe one of these days I'll get some patience to setup the good old Miui10 again...
i also have this ghost touch on the upper part of the screen. it came same time as the multi touch issue. it cant even fix by game turbo. i cant even play games normally like moba or fps game. i dont know if its just me have this ghost touch issue. its a big shame for xiaomi flagship phone?
No news about this issue? Everything works fine with Pixel Experience in my MI9 but multitouch. I remmember I solved another problem (auto-rotate didn't work for the display) and I solved it flashing only last version of "persist.img".

No way, Installing PE doesn't solve the problem.
I'm going to try it with new kernels and FWs.

Try to flash MIUI 10... I read somewhere it should work, because MIUI 10 is built on Android 9, which doesn't have this issue

also i have this nonresponsive part of the upper screen, right where most game analog button placed. idk if this "dead touch" is connected to this multitouch issue
This was the first and probably the last Xiomi I bought. Back to iOS. Bought a second hand iPhone 11 in mint condition. Working rock solid! Crap Mi9!!!

Do you encounter any problems in the K20 pro like drop fps vs touch issues ?

I have exactly the same problem. Top of the screen randomly stopped responding. Pretty much the same amount of space as in your case. Also sometimes it does ghost touches, but its rare. Usually this part of the screen just doesnt respond. My phone is 1 year and 4 months old. Never dropped it or anything like that. Tried restarting - didnt help.
Is this a hardware problem or software? Did you fix it for yourself?

Simply disable three finger screenshot gesture in phone settings. This will get rid of ghost touch issues on any OS

You know that shouldn't happen to your Redmi 9. I have never had such an issue in my Redmi 9 since I bought it last summer. You should go where you bought it and tell them about the problem.
I thinkyou should change it , if you have the garantee , don't think it's a problem of the version of MUI

I bought CN version Mi 11 ultra last week. I have been using it but sometime I feel something wrong about touch input while gaming.
So I recorded video while playing game with touch position indication.

It looks like happened when two finger input.
When problem happened, it seems like switching 2 touching position very very fast between currently touching.
It looks like only single touch is recognized in phone system...may be...

Here is the issues I found after 1 week of use , please feel free to add
The problem of randomly changing the screen brightness even if you cancelled the automatic adjustment of the screen brightness.
2- A problem with Facebook Messenger, messages and audio recordings disappear without sound.
3 The problem of Google Maps, the picture in picture option, is unstable, and does not work often
4 - The problem of WhatsApp Dual, when sending a location link, it does not open
5- The problem of hidden applications appearing in the recent list
6- The proximity sensors work stupidly, when I open an audio recording from WhatsApp, for example, the screen turns off and sound go very low , knowing that I am already far from it.
7_ The problem of the sound it is very weak , if I opened the speaker while driving , I will be unable to hear anything
8- The proximity sensor is not working, and the screen is always on when calling , or behaving wrongly ..
Very bad phone , I bought it after 2 years of using Realme 5 pro , I believe me the Realme phone was much better .

I have the 11T PRO with Global rom versión 12.5.19
I face none. Only sometimes proximity issue. Speakers are insane and crisp.

I can't hear the sound while driving , I was able to hear very well when I was using the Realme .
Maybe the Realme was that good ??
I also have this phone since november last year and i have none of these issues. only gripe i have is the battery drain. It might charge fast but it also dies fast compared to other phones.

NO it is not, may be your device is faulty. One thing I can say though is, the top speaker (near earpiece) is not as loud as the bottom one which is again a normal thing with all vendors.

You have the newest version of Global rom. 12.5.19 is the EEA rom and actually it's beta version. The newest stable EEA is 12.5.20.

There are different versions of roms for different regions. There is Global rom (yours), EEA rom (for Europe), for Japan, Indonesia, etc. Just look to the link that I attached above. The newest Global rom is 12.5.10, the newest EEA rom is 12.5.20. You can't update Global rom to EEA rom You don't get update, because you have the newest version of Global rom.

Did you try to do Factory reset? Most of your problems looks like software issues and other people don't have them. You would loose your data but maybe it's worth to try.

Same here, the proximity function works intermittently like a hit or miss thing.
But yeah the speakers are probably one of the best I have ever heard in a mobile phone, and that gorgeous popping screen.
