Finding P40 Pro firmware - Huawei P40 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Been researching for ages now, made a good few mistakes, had gms services installed all smooth sailing, manually updated with hisuite and team mt to 10.0.1.175 but I've stuffed up now.
I went hunting for a firmware version to restore Ota updates and have spiraled down a deep dark rabbit hole.
Self inflicted issue I flashed Emui 10.0.1.154 from reading threads in hopes of regaining Ota updates but obviously wiped all the data (silly me made no backups) and now need to reinstall googlefier but I'm unable to with the firmware version being too high up.
Now begins the major issue I'm stuck at 10.0.154 and I can't find firmware anywhere as team mt online firmware finder is currently bringing back errors both through apk and online, I saw a thread somewhere about Huawei moving databases or something like that.
I have found some other sites like huaweidl but the firmwares hosted are incompatible
I have a Els-NX9
Build is (185E9R4P1)
Region is clearly C185
I've typically searched for ELS-LGRP4 firmwares as the results often were favorable.
Currently I can't find firmware to match closest I've gotten is (C432) firmwares which is probably why Ota updates stopped working in the first place.
At this point I don't care about emui 11 or updates anymore I just want gms and gapps back I'm losing my mind can anyone assist?

amazing, you're a champ, thank you! I'm going to give the file (Huawei_P40_Pro_Elsa-N29D 10.1.0.131(C185E9R4P1)_Firmware_EMUI10.1.0_05016PVQ.zip) a goI.
'm still struggling to wrap my mind around phone models. The build number matches perfectly but not the model number. phone says NX9 whereas the package says N29D, are there any threads I can read on this, would love to learn more

Just an update @starbase64 thank you for the firmware, what a treat both my issues solved tonight after many a late night of searching and reading. I have both Gms now and Emui 11 through Ota updates.
Just to provide my method to other readers,
I downloaded the aforementioned firmware version for my build. Extracted it to a USB thumbdrive making sure the dload folder was at the root of the drive. And then used the otg method to flash the firmware.
@Bender007 also want to say thanks for the amazing googlefier app, both times now it was super easy to work with.

Good Job man !
Good luck with this , i hate at&t we ****ed up with locked boot loader
What exactly is the "Odin ML2?" Is that the leaked version that we already have root for? The one we don't have root for is the OTA version, which has nothing to do with Odin. Yet another pointless thread.

First off there's no need to be a ****. You are correct that we don't have root for ML2, or the OTA version as you refer to it. The point of this thread is to figure out a way to get root which I think everybody would appreciate, so no need to give the guy grief.
Secondly, while most people received the update to ML2 as an OTA, there were 2 users here who were able to find and post complete Odin packages for ML2 (see this thread and this one), so yes, this thread has everything to do with Odin and rooting ML2. There are summaries of all the official AT&T firmwares in this thread with links to most of the important stuff. Please at least do a search before invalidating somebody who is trying to help the community.

Thanks for taking the lead on trying to figure out root, I think a good starting point might be a list of all the root methods that others have tried and failed so we don't get people duplicating work that we already know doesn't work. I'll take a crack at putting that list together this weekend. It's nice to have a dev working with the i537.
The only thing I'm trying to invalidate is the need for yet another thread about this. There's several already (like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576460) that could have been used to keep everything consolidated instead of spread all over the forum. I also had a difficult time understanding just what the OP is saying as the grammar is not the best. This post seems more like an exercise in cheerleading than a serious attempt. Regardless, since there is so much confusion regarding the OTA and the leaked versions of ML2 I think it only prudent to be clear when posting anything about either one. This thread was definitely not clear.

The thing will be rooting the odin and making it a Pre-Rooted firmware.
People, Listen, Don't hurt my feelings as if you will I will abound this project just like I did with my old Rom on GT-i9300 which turned it into a S4, As Henrylife copied my Rom :/ ... But that is old news...
I will be using my old laptop with a Ubuntu ( I need Linux) USB stick, So I might delay it a few times because there isn't enough memory and the computer is old and half broken.
REMEMBER: TOGETHER WE ARE BETTER AND SMARTER! ARE SMALL COMMUNITY IS REALLY BIG MINDS! SO I WILL NEED YOUR HELP NOT ONLY MINE!
I need your help:
'Enter Device Model' - For Example: I537?
'Enter Sales Code' - ATT?
'Enter PDA Version' - For example: I537UCUBML2?.
'Enter Phone Version' - Version of Modem. For example:I537UCUBML2?.
'Enter CSC Version' - For exampleUCUBML2?.
tell me if this is right.
Ok, Wish us luck.

Let me know what I can do to help out on my end. Really want to get this rolling so we can move forward with 4.3 compatible SS Roms. However, should we wait a little while for news on the 4.4.2 KK that would be pushed out? I feel like we might end up pouring efforts into 4.3 ML2 and boom, KK gets pushed. Either way I'll try to help in any way possible.

Ok, so I'm not going to argue with you because as I've seen in other threads you really get worked up. By I will try to clarify what the OP is trying to do because there are probably others that are unclear on what he is trying to do.
The other root threads for ML2 focus on using existing root methods to try to root ML2, the purpose of this thread is to develop a completely new root method. The idea is to take the ML2 Odin files and decompile them. Once the files are decompiled he's going to try to inject root into it, and recompile it so we can flash it to our phones.
If this works it would be a lot more simple for the end user than most of the other root methods (except for Active Root, obviously). Additionally if he is able to achieve this, it might be a good idea to try to replace the ML2 bootloader with the MI2 bootloader since it would allow users to be able to downgrade to MF1 and MF2 or MF3 if we ever figure out a way to get that back on the phone. Basically it seems like the most "open" bootloader.
I think this is a definitely a worthwhile effort since it is probably our only chance of getting root on ML2 and a worthwhile thread since it consolidates all the information for this specific root method in one thread. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
I personally think that this is a better approach and, depending how it is written, this could survive 4.4 update, seeing how past root approaches were more or less overlays or hijacks, if you will, with it written into the package, it would seem to me, have a better probability to survive.
Also, on another note, no need to disparage someone who is willing to try, a lot of the Roms and roots, on XDA, were written by someone, whose main language is not English.

I have an i537 already on ML2 here that I don't use at the moment. We can use it to test installs as long as devs here would help me if I have trouble restoring it (should something go wrong with a bad install).
Thread cleaned, keep it respectful.

Actually, the OP is from New York. When relating things of a technical nature it is very important to be clear and precise. These forums are littered with posts from people who either could not follow directions or who followed directions that were unclear and ended up causing a problem with their phones. If the OP has difficulty with English then perhaps he should enlist the aid of someone better suited to be providing technical explanations or directions for us to follow. That's not a knock on the OP's ability to pull this off, just on his ability to present it clearly and understandably. I was a magazine technical editor for many years, so I might be a little sensitive in this area. I've seen a lot of posts by people who were brilliant at figuring stuff out in here, but when it came time to put the actions into words there was much confusion about the processes they were explaining. It is very difficult to write technical material for a broad audience of varying technical abilities. When writing technically, one should always assume that the readers are less savvy and tailor the information to their level, not that of the writer's. So many problems in here would be minimized if developers would remember that the majority of people need to be walked through things step by step instead of assuming that they already know all about the process. Just my $.02.
Oh, I know he is from N.Y. I was being general in nature, the English as a second language part, been too much of deriding in here, when sentence structure isn't to someone's standards, which translators don't do.
As far as the OP is concerned, yes it could have been a little more concise, but he was only saying what he was trying to do, which a lot of people understood, when it's time for the finished product, that's where it should be concise.
Just IMO.

Hello all. I'm new to smart phones and the Galaxy s4 active is the first one I have ever owned. I have had it for a couple weeks now and I knew nothing about rooting when i got it, so when I was prompted to update I didn't give it second thought. Now I know about rooting and that I can't do it because of the update Wishing you guys the best of luck with this. I will help out any way I can, as long as any changes I make to my phone can be undone in case it doesn't work. Thanks for the effort.

I did a factory reset to my 4.3 (through Samsung while unrooted) and it downgraded to 4.2.2. I don't know if yours can do the same now that it's rooted, or even if it's meant to do that (when I factory reset my tablet it reset to a blank ROM of the same version it was on), but that could be worth a try.
---
OP: You could dual boot your regular computer if you wanted a better performing linux machine, but I'm sure you know that.
I have the i9295 but I think it would be good the S4A as a whole if we could get more root users. If you need help with anything that needs to be done on a linux computer that yours is struggling to do, let me know. I'm happy to help!

Oh I never did root my phone, that's what I was saying. I didn't even know what it was at first. So now I know about it and want to root but since I updated, I can't. So you think if I do a factory reset I can get root? I am willing to try and go back to 4.2.2 and then just update when there is a root method for ml2 4.3. How would I do a factory reset? Sorry, like I said, I'm knew to all this.

Oh, right, I misread your original post, sorry. You *may* be sent back to the version your device shipped with - I was on my i9295, I wasn't on my Bauhn tablet though. A factory reset does mean that it's set back to the way it was in the factory, so it should do. It would be worth a try if you really want to root your phone, but I would definitely advise backing everything up either way. A ML2 root is being worked on at the moment but some other nice XDA users.

Rollback to EMUI 4.1.1 (VNS-L21)

Hi guys, I wanted to get EMUI 5 on my P9 Lite and I did, I used Firmware Finder but that thing automatically updated my phone to NRD90M test-keys.... Is it possible to go back to VNS-L21C432B160 and then maybe properly upgrade to 5.0 and having the same build number?
Edit: I managed to Rollback the OS, now all I need is a way to finally upgrade to EMUI 5.0. I'm sorry if this question has been posted before, please delete this thread if it's a problem. But I would actually need some help with the update, if possible.
This is the P9 forum. Why dont you look in the P9 lite forum? You probably will find anything you need there without opening a new thread.

Oh yes, sure! So the solution is as it follows:
To get back on MM:
1. I downloaded and updated my device using L21C432 (EU) from this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...torial-rollback-n-to-mm-c432-devices-t3563955 - I got a small incompatibility error but I just skipped it.
2. I downloaded and update my device using L21C432B160 from the same thread and this way I got back to the proper build of EMUI 4.1.1
To upgrade to N:
1. I installed Firmware Finder
2. I upgraded the OS from 4.1.1 to 5.0 using the L21C432B370-OTA-MF-PF file (1.9 GB if I remember correctly).
3. After the upgrade was finished I just did a factory reset to get it to run as smooth as possible.
Everything worked just fine on my device. Camera works, bluetooth works, I haven't had any problems except the fact that I have 2 IMEI's now... probably because of that NRD90M test-keys build that was flashed by mistake. I don't think it should be a problem anyway

Flash AndroidOne ROM on other model

Hi everyone! I have XT1900-7 model (4gb and 64gb), one person here on XDA told me he turned his model into android one model flashing this firmware https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962157660013070030 with these files with script https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PCQwxaEDHZxBG_FwNWA0ozxfRumI31zd/view.
Just to be sure (no oreo update yet on my model and nothing said by lenovo), anyone else tried it? Future OTA updates?
Hey Giammarcoperiphery,
A very big thank you I searched for something like this quite a time and didn't find anything. As it's my debut on Motorola I just tried it (yeah I know all the risks but best way to learn) and yes, it worked perfect. Everything's fine now, with Oreo and Android One bootscreen.
I don't know if it gets further updates but afaik there's no reason it should not. Just typing this reply because I hope some experienced user will inform us when he sees there's activity on this Thread.
However, can you post a link where this topic was discussed/where you get the information? Thank you

Great! Is your model 1900-7 and 4/64 too? I think I'll try tomorrow
No it's 3/32, only version in germany. But should not matter it's same software.
By the way, didn't get any notification for January-Security-Patch-update yet. I think it won't arrive because it's still reteu update channel.
However, Moto-Firmware-Team will certainly update the next Rom/OTA soon.

Thanks.
Just wanted to update you all, have just received a communication from THREE UK saying they are running final testing before deploying the update for us. I know people have flashed the stock firmware and have already updated to Pie, this is for those who haven't and are still waiting. By the way, just to add, if you want to run good games one your phone, download Dolphin Emulator, just tried it and it runs games like Splinter Cell and Resident Evil Zero on your Razer 2

Where did you get this communication from?
I have just been told that they have no information currently on Twitter
Also on their live chat, I have been told that they don't deal with phone software and I would need to speak to Razer about the update!

Just to let you know, I found this article on the interweb which describes the process of an update being rolled out. It does state that if a carrier wants extra features included in the update, this takes extra time and testing, so that gels with the response I got from the support guys. I am leaning towards trusting the response I got from this
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.xda-developers.com/how-android-software-update-sony/amp/
Rolling out NOW! Just checked for the update through the settings and it's available.
Downloading immediately!
Update is indeed live now
Could anyone post the system update changelog for me?
Heya Guys and gals,
Get mashing that update button cuz its live and available I hope my updates and communications have been helpful over the past few weeks. Enjoy and LLAP. Lets hope it works flawlessly
All installed this end. No issues to report! At long last!!!

Tencent ROG2 update to Android 10

Hi everyone, first I am sorry if there is already thread like this did not found so please link it if there is. Thread headline explains itself. In short I bought ROG2 from Chinese supplier and got Tencent device with what use to be Global rom. However OTA is not working and I would like to have Android 10 on my device. So if someone can point me in right direction regarding tools and roms needed to do this. I saw several threads about that but I am not sure what is on my phone now so I will provide Device Info HW screenshot.
Stay safe people!

Head over to the guides section of this forum. You need to make sure of the following so you can update fw:
1. Make sure you have changed both firmware and fingerprint versions to global
2. Decide if you want to root or not
Tencent versions will never get OTA updates. At least as of now there is no known workaround for getting official OTA working for converted rog phones, all need to be manually updated. There is a third party app that can help do this, you can find it in the software/theme section.
Once you have fully converted to ww, you can manually download updates. Just move then to your root folder/internal storage and reboot then follow onscreen instructions.
Sorry cant post links but you can navigate to those sections easy.

2. I do not need root.
Found tool all in one so I can flash with ease.
Thanks

Yes, but look at the fingerprint of your device, it's still CN, that needs to be matched to the rom (ww). So you need to follow one of the guides for this first
