Does anyone own an Hong Kong version outside of Hong Kong?
If so, what are your experiences in terms of:
1. What country are you using it?
2. Does VoLTE Work?
3. Does Wifi Calling Work?
4. Both sim slot capable of 5G?
5. Samsung Pay work?
6. Call Recording?
Using G9980 HK version in Australia. No issues. VOLTE and wifi calling works. 5G works very well on SIM slot 2 only, not on SIM 1. No call recording. Have not tried Samsung Pay I use Google Pay.
Im in japan right now, and 4g works in both sims,volte works, in options could put 2 sims on 5g, but here dont have 5g yet.
in case someone else interested:
- Austria
- everything except for Samsung Pay and Call Recording works on my side
- 5G not tested, but shown as option

Hey brother, what carrier are you with? I am trying with Telstra and it simply doesn't work.

I'm with Optus. I had to activate 5G though the Optus app not sure if you might have to do that with Telstra or call Telstra support to make sure 5G activated

If there are any unlocked variants of the XP that have VoLTE and/or HD Voice, please list them here. Give as much detail as possible. Also if possible give a link where someone in the U.S. could be that variant from.

I bought one XXP (unlocked version) at Taipei/Taiwan.
VoLTE is built-in function. I don't know if HD voice is included.
The model is F8132 with dual sim card slots.

Yeah it sounds like the people who USE them in Hong Kong or various Asian countries actually GET VoLTE (I think you need VoLTE in order to have HD Voice, but not sure if it's automatically enabled if you DO have VoLTE or not). I have that same model and the Hong Kong version (which I use here in the U.S.). It doesn't show up for me but ppl in Hong Kong get it. It has to do with the SIM card used. U.S. ones don't enable it, but some other countries' SIM cards apparently do. See my other thread for more info. Make sure to click on "Click to show content" on 2 pics at top in quoted region. Just read from there if you like.

I want to buy note 9. There is couple versions available at eglobalcentral and I'm looking for unlocked and eu/uk version.
Currently I'm with three, but dual sim option is tempting since I travel a lot.
Do you know if version n960fd is free of career useless apps and if it will be working fine in Ireland? Lte vise it should be working to my knowledge but I wanted to ask for your advice.

i know 1800 mhz is Three LTE network, here in the UK as that's the band they purchased for 4G LTE i'm not sure about ireland. Also make sure you get the Exynos as it supports all LTE bands globally same for HSPDA, HSDPA+, 3G Etc,
Also im not sure about sim unlocked as i purchased my note direct from Samsung UK i have to make a full 5 min call in the UK/EU before i can use it in the asian region, or globally as there's a sticker on the box that warns me about that!
i aint sure if one would have to make the call in asia i.e Hong Kong for full 5 mins before it starts to work over here in the UK or in your case ireland,
as eGlobal is based in Hong Kong all is stock is for the Asian market...
i could be wrong i'm sure some XDA user will know the answer!

I bought the model mentioned in the headline.
I did not try dual sim (or 2nd sim slot) in terms of LTE, but I have received a UK version of the phone from global central. It was 690 with shipping.
Everything works as intended and I'm happy with the device.

I have the global version with two SIM Cards. One is on O2 (Drillisch) and the other one is on Vodafone. They both work flawless. On Vodafone I even have VoWifi and VoLTE working.

or any other issue if i use snapdragon variant in non- snapdragon region.

I'm using a Hong Kong model G9730 Snapdragon in UK, EE network. Everything works fine, updates and LTE+. The only thing that doesn't work is Samsung Pay but Google Pay works perfect. Can't say anything about other UK carriers or India.

Updates - not sure yet, we can push manually via adb.
VOLTE - In India, Airtel, Yes. I am currently using.

Yes. I have it on in my phone. It depends on if your carrier allows it though.
My 988U1 has it. T-mobile requires it.
Sounds like you might have a variant that might not support your carriers Volte. I would try playing around with different CSC/CP files through odin
I have the 998B/DS and VoLTE is enabled with no issues (My carrier supports it)
it works fine with me on G998/DS here in UAE
