That's good, thanks for the info.
I got a bit too curious tried enrolling for the beta program under the standard Android Updater settings, which took me to a page to install the Mi Community app. It then asked me to sign-up for a beta testing group but after giving them my contact details, it said there's already too many users enrolled (something like 500k testers already?). I had to ask a friend who could read Chinese to help translate the UI elements for me

Because the application threshold is too low, resulting in too many people to apply.. (when you have the internal test qualification of other mobile phone models and don't need to own the mobile phone, you can apply for approval without approval.)
There are several solutions.
1. Borrow your friend's Xiaomi account with internal test qualification.
2. Buy an account with internal test qualification on Taobao or other platforms.
3. In Xiaomi community, the "internal test score" reaches 900, but it may be a little difficult for foreigners.
4. You can flash xiaomi.eu ROM or other version ROM.
5.Wait, wait, wait the stable verson ROM.....
----------------

Eu rom will have miui 12.5 beta soon. They are rebuilding the rom. Should be release soon!

Thanks for the clarification, it'll be best for me to just wait for the stable CN 12.5 then as I understand it's ahead of schedule and should come by the end of April. I don't want to keep bothering my friend with the translations in the Mi Community app anymore!

As I know, the second screen is just for camera symmetry, and you can place a Huawei logo,Zeiss logo ?hahha~
据我所知,第二个屏幕只是为了相机的对称性,或者你可以放置一个华为 logo,卡尔蔡司 logo?哈哈~

That's great to see. I understand MIUI 12.5 has a lot of backend software optimizations which can lead to even more responsive app loading times and reduced power consumption all-round.

What version of the stock camera is it using please?

google apps are all working fine. I did need to work around a minor bug to reenable gboard, long story short is that if you freeze sogo keyboard, your default keyboard before upgrade won't be enabled either.
the account is to update to internal test (stable version). i am not in a rush to unlock my bootloader, which will be tomorrow anyway.
There are sellers on taobao, who lend the interal test accounts (there are lots of them) for single usage. 1.2 bucks will get you one upgrade.

no, you simply log out of your mi account, log in with the one they lend you, check update, get update, update. log out and reboot.

MIUI 9.1 Global Stable is out for Mi Mix 2! (v 9.1.1.0)

____Update 12/01____
Since a couple of days we now have v 9.1.2.0. I haven't noticed any differences yet, but the wallpaper carousel is functioning again. They also implemented fixes for problems that I personally did not encounter. ...aaand the notifications are slightly improved! Some of them evene expand and allow for direct interaction. Breathtaking development.
Get it while it's fresh on en.miui.com.
Should you not be rooted, I can recommend installing it via XiaoMiTool. I used this to flash the last MIUI 8 Global Stable, and then got 9.1.1.0 and now 9.1.2.0 via OTA. I've read that for some people here fast charging isn't working on th 9-er Firmwares. I have had no problem with that at all. Maybe it's because you guys are rooted, or because system wasn't flashed properly? I don't know, but I feel with you...
____Update 11/16____
The MIUI9 release has since been officially announced. This XDA article sheds some light on the release. However, as of today, the ROM is still not available for download on en.miui.com.
If you don't feel like waiting for OTA hitting you, shadowxaero has provided a link to download 9.1.1.0 (NDEMIEI) in post #7.
To enable VOLTE in presumably every MIUI realease, KevinLuong has shared a great link to an explanation including an easy fix in post #2.
Update 11/17
The Firmware is officially available on en.miui.com now. Should you not be rooted, consider installing it via XiaoMiTool, which will let you chose and download the Firmware within the programs flashing dialogue (give that man a beer).
_____initial post_____
..but there is no mention of it anywhere (yet). Why is that?
It's Version 9.1.1.0 (NDEMIEI). Got it OTA on Friday night, but it isn't even yet listed on the official site. Whats up with that?
Everything seems to run great, except that VOLTE can not be activated, which I find a little weird for a stable release. Oh, and notfications are still not up to scratch in MIUI 9, which is the single most annoying thing about MIUI.
Anyone else on this ROM? Maybe with tips, tricks, htoughts or insights?

Hmm. Why would they do that? I'm not even participating in the user feedback program (at least not willingly ). Usually the nightlys they push out clearly state that they are nightlys, don't they? I saw this with the Mi 6 when it got v 9.0.1.0. In this case on Mix 2 the ROM clearly states "stable" though.
Well, I don't want to complain. I feel special now. :victory:

Yes, I had Global Stable (v8.5.1.0).
It's a global stable beta (stable beta = what exactly??) according to the miui forums. There was an announcement about it. I put a link to the download in the reverse engineering thread.
I haven't actually tried it yet but I would be interested to know if it passes safetynet, I guess.

You can flash it with fastboot, but you have to convert the system to a system.img in order to do so.

I used sdat2img.py
https://github.com/xpirt/sdat2img
Use that to make a system.img, flash that with fastboot.
Then flash all of the other partitions with fastboot from the unpacked zip, following the pattern of the Xiaomi fastboot updates so you know which thing needs to be flashed to what.
Kind of difficult to explain and probably not worth putting together a whole tutorial, but that's how you do it.
this build passes safetynet with Magisk 14. I also installed this over Epic rom and not over v8 stable.. works fine anyways. I did format userdata and cache from fastboot before i flashed.

This will most likely not work coming from the developer ROM, but try the regular manual update method:
Download the ROM and copy it to your device. Then go to settings > About Phone > System Update and chose your update package from the extended menu (three dots, top right).
Should the regular method not work, and should your device not be unlocked/rooted, then simply use the XiaoMiTool. If you follow the instructions this program works really really well, so consider donating that guy a beer or two.

Hi guys,
If you installed the Official MIUI 9.1 Stable can you please report on battery life ?
Regards.

Mi 9Tpro EU comes with stock android Dialer etc

Unpleasant surprise for me ...
After getting my Mi 9Tpro euro, I discovered that the euro phone does not comes with the following:
Xiaomi Dialer/Contact
Xiaomi Sms
Facemoji Keyboard
But with the stock Google dialer etc .. instead
if Facemoji can easily be installed, from the store, the dialer and sms (althought they can be downloaded from apk repositories ) will crash or not fully work if you side load them from apk..
Vanilla android app might be to some taste , but I'm pissed to be stuck with them as I happen to like Xiomi's
may be I could try to get the global ROM? but really wtf is xiaomi doing with there euro rom... and what reviewer are doing ... seems they are testing everything but the phone part of the phone -_-
can't you just use one of the miui.eu roms? they include all xiaomi features but without the bloat/spyware

Afik, xiaomi.eu doesn't have ota support. Also, I faced mic problem in eu rom. I'm currently using mi globe and it's based on xiaomi.eu but surprisingly doesn't have mic problem.
Also, .eu rom is based on Chinese miui.

OTA does not work on EU roms you would need to install the updates manually. It would not cause any data loss. You can read about this on xiaomi.eu

I also bought the Mi 9T Pro (EU version) yesterday. Isn't there a way just to find the Xiaomi stock dialer apk somewhere for this phone??
No. Installing the original miui apks doesn't work, they crash. There are two ways to have them - wait for the global official rom to come out at en.miui.com and try to install it without unlocking bootloader, or if it doesn't work out - unlock, install it and leave it like that. I've posted a theme here for the call recording and it's the same problem, actually...

After some long, tedious and pointless email exchange with OnePlus Support they finally said they were sorry for "miscommunication" and advised to raise this as an idea here: https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
I do not agree this is an idea. There is already a builtin call recording app, this just has to be allowed by default for Poland just like for India.
What you can do with a minimum effort to enable it on the phone:
Get SetEdit App from Play Store
Get jOnePlus Tools
Get ADB as shown here https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Run two ADB Commands:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
In SetEdit go to Global Table (top right), then find "op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc", edit the value to 1
Go to jOnePlus Tools, enable call recording
What will you achieve? Now, you can auto record calls in your region through the built-in app.
Will this work after reboot? jOnePlus Tools should keep the recording after the reboot. In case it does not, you can use SetEdit after the reboot to enable the option after the reboot.
Does this need root? No root require.
Linking all threads in this forum about our common dialer problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-call-recording-t3961106
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/mi-9t-pro-problem-t3959150
It might possibly lead to not crash the xiaomi call app, but I think installing the global rom is easier and less risky. Just wait and see... And there will be OTAs with the official global rom.
installed the xiaomi.eu rom
it has xiomi apps (and new one from the quick menu)
it second space is off by defalt
i get twice the battery life (for my usage)
I wonder if this is the reason for the lack of the call recording feature:
https://iapp.org/news/a/how-do-the-rules-on-audio-recording-change-under-the-gdpr/ (summary, it's illegal in Europe to record calls, without the explicit agreement of the other person)
How about searching on APKMirror?

Question Owners of the Chinese version who have upgraded to the European.

Please, everyone who could upgrade your Chinese Mi 11 Ultra to global or European firmware, please describe the sequence of actions:
1) what version of phone you flashed - 8/12/256 or 12/512
2) what soft did you use to unlock bootloader
3) what version of new firmware you choosed - Global or EEA (European)
4) what mode of ref lashing did you use - "three dots" via upgrade menu (recovery) or fastboot
I think this thread will be beer useful for many of us

there is none in the whole 52 pages topic on xiaomu.eu? Im also curious about your questions. I wanted to flash my phone in next two days after unlock bootloader.
I done it today, didnt check my version though before flashing. I updated with the OTA yesterday and flashed the latest stable 12.5. There is safetynet issue with that at the moment due to Xiaomi not certifying it but i fixed it with magisk.
Rom is much better

If true I'd rather stay on China ROM until that if resolved. I have no issues at all with my China ROM.
Good thread ! We need it for now.
So first version of global rom is not safe !
I was reading all that 54 pages and I noticed that you have to update your phone software via phone settings. After that it should be compatible with xiaomi Eu rom (flastboot flashing). Also don’t use that miflash...do it
Via standard command prompt method.
(The XiomiEU Rom is based on a Chinese rom but it have such a big change log is crazy ! Is polished so well that is better than global)
thats what I understood from all that pages....but again I would wait a little bit....

I already updated to the latest OTA; however, I am still left with a Mi 11 Ultra stuck in fastboot.

Hi Axel, got your pm there too. (MobileMadeSimple) I didn't do anything special. Made sure was on latest update. Unlocked bootloader. Skipped through setup etc. Went to fastboot, ran the bat as administrator.
That was it

General Global 12.5.8 update

Hi Everyone,
Just the heads up, RKAMIXM 12.5.8 is available now. Woke up 2 hours ago with an available update by OTA.
Photos attached.
I wonder, will this version auto-upgrade to MIUI13 later this month?
Also - I assume it's storage-problems-free, like the ones plaguing the Android12 releases?
I'm honestly grinding my teeth over the A12 issues and finding workarounds, and I'll revert in a hearbeat if I knew that I won't have to start from scratch in a couple of weeks from now.

This one is stable global version, I don't think we will have A12 on global before Feb or march
If I'm not mistaken, a December 28th release date was confirmed already, for the Global MIUI13 A12-based ROM.

MIUI 13 videos were found inside the leaked system apps. We got information about 3 new features.

You're right, I assumed Global, though I do remember seeing the Global being referred to. Fingers crossed as well!
Did anyone try this? I wasn't expecting an update before MIUI 13 release

I am on it now 24hours.
It is good, want the official file? I can redownload package and upload it
Thank, no I'm not in a rush. Thank you anyway. Have you seen some improvement?
Honestly, not much to be considered, the following changes noticed:
- Security patch 1st of Nov.
- Battery seems a bit better (not so sure but I ended up with slightly more juice than usual, maybe just first day with no cash, will see how I go today).
- Some bubbles are round now, which is more comfortable than square ones. but this morning my messages are square (i'll have to do a bit more research on this).
- some sound distortion (usually 1-3 seconds) when I change app (mobile legends with any other app and return to mobile legends) has gone.
- kind of smoother (or just my imagination ).
- there was a bug with sometimes unlocking device, now its gone. it is hard to describe as it actually affected nothing. but its gone now.
nothing more as far as I can see.

And yeah, please do reupload, I think I'll switch. The A12 bugs are unbearable and I'm pretty confident that your version will update to MIUI13 when time comes.

Mine is just an OTA and not a fastboot version, so you have to go to 12.5.7 first then update.

V12.5.7.0.RKAMIXM - global ROM?
Hit me up with the OTA file when you have the time, here or via PM. I'll switch over.

No worries, I'll do it tonight or tomorrow, unless you get it OTA by then. I don't know why but I get updates 3-5 days than everyone else

I'm the exact opposite -
I jumped the shark with the A12 update because I get my OTAs aeons after everybody else.
Was the version I noted the one you had before getting the OTA? Would be pointless to flash the wrong ROM
12.5.7, just get it installed and I'll upload 12.5.8

Installed, and on first boot, the device auto-updated to 12.5.8.0 too
How do I download the package, in favor of others who want it?

It's released, don't worry about it.
Just for info, once package downloaded and while installing before restart, go to files - downloads - and you'll find a new folder called downloaded_roms and you'll find update package there. Copy it anywhere else out of this folder and you are good to go.

Question MIUI 14 Global BETA STABLE 14.0.3 - Any good opinion?

Hi everyone,
last night I received an update to MIUI 14 Global Stable 14.0.3.
I was pretty excited when I got it... but... after the update... a huge disappoint -.-"
Basically, from my side, nothing changed.
The only "FIX" I was waiting for from Android 12 came from Google finally in Android 13 FIXED the volume control for my cast.
But more than that? I don't see any change Really, nothing.
No extra options, no extra AOD, and nothing more than MIUI13/Android12.
Did I miss something?
Any opinion from you guys?
Thanks!

Stable Beta
https://new.c.mi.com/global/post/567284
Mmm... I feel like a pretty noob at this moment.
So, I received a Stable Beta? Why? I'm not part of any Beta Tester program.
And Yes, that's the version I can see on my phone. But it said Global, not EEA.
I thought EEA and Global were different. Mmmm....
Well... I guess at this point better wait for the Stable one and see what others will think.
PS
I found out the "options" related to the Default Home are buggy...
but if still a beta, maybe make sense.
Keep in touch

It is not today that Xiaomi provided Beta Stables on the stable channel.
It's always written stable on the phone, only the penultimate 2 letters tell you the version of the rom.
EUXM=EEA Europe
MIXM=Global
TRXM=Turkey
RUXM=Russia
INXM=India
JPXM=Japan
IDXM=Indonesia
TWXM=Taiwan
CNXM=China
DEV=Public Beta
Got it and I'm sorry.

Don't be, your post is helpful.
Hello people. I got the 14.0.3, too, and my phone is lagging after that.
I don't want to factory reset it.
I have lags with Gboard and other apps too.
Has someone had the same issue, too?

In general and to avoid bugs on a change of MIUI and Android version, we do a factory reset.
Try clearing all data from problematic apps.

WTH? Beta?
"A newly released MIUI 14 Beta EEA Stable version V14.0.3.0.TKDEUXM for Xiaomi 11T Pro is currently being pushed to selected users received it (testers)."
So I am a tester??? Is there an option to opt-out? I've never asked to be a tester.

The only solution to downgrade in case this rom is not suitable is to unlock the bootloader.

Maybe an update on the play store?
Sometimes they don't all come right away, wait before resetting the phone.

Even when you apply for bootloader unlock, Xiaomi gives permission to unlock bootloaded after a random amount of time
So, this morning I had fun, and after a backup, I factory reset the phone.
Now it's working flawlessly.
i also have lags and since i updated the battery settings app doesnt see any charging sessions

I've checked and had logs of charging sessions and battery consumption.
But I've noticed that lags are still present after the factory reset.
I'll never update to a new major MIUI version. I'll wait a month, and then I'll update.
