Question Google Fi + Xiaomi 11 Ultra - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

I love the phone so far. However, there is a problem with Google Fi (Always).
I am able to receive the message, phone calls, etc just fine. However, i am not able to send out SMS. It always fails. I tried both the stock app and the google messaging app.
Did this happen to Xiaomi 11 as well? I am rocking a Chinese ROM at the moment, not sure if global rom would be any different.

so, at least with the chinese rom, don't use google messenging app. if you set that to be your default, you will face this issue. stay with stock messages app, you are fine.
Group chat doesn't work, oh well, not important.

I had this issue with the Mi Mix 3. This helped me maybe it will help you. Go into the Google Fi App and force stop it and clear the data then turn on all the permissions for the app then try to send the messages

SMS and MMS issues with BLU Vivo XL on metroPCS

Hello,
I am using a BLU Vivo XL with metroPCS service and I am having a two MMS issues: 1) Every MMS is duplicated, and 2) MMS service is very unreliable over WiFi. Also, I have 1 sms issue where my messages from some contacts do not thread/aggreagate correctly. For example, I send a sms to ContactA and when they respond, it is in a new thread, I can then continue the conversation in that new thread.
I have updated my APN information to the t-mobile settings. I have had a "phone reset" by a metroPCS CSR over chat. Any ideas on how to rectify these issues?

I have a similar problem on AT&T. I get duplicate group messages while using google messenger. It only happens with group messages and is fine with normal MMS. Sorry I was unable to help, but you are not alone.

I'm trying to use my BLU Vivo XL with Chomp Messenger (AT&T). It seems to work other than it won't play any notification sounds no matter which one I choose. It's not blinking the message led either.
I was having the same issue on T-Mobile, my solution was to go through each contact and make sure there were no spaces in any contact numbers. Example: 1 (123) 456-7890 would give me problems, but 1(123)456-7890 worked just fine.

Exactly the same with me on AT&T. Any time someone sends me an MMS, I get 2 pictures instead of just one. Crazy. I also get the issue where I send a SMS, and then when they reply, it starts a new thread instead of appearing in the one I just sent. Weird. Let me know if you figure this out.

I remembered that when I got this phone, I replaced the stock messaging app with Google Messenger (I thought the stock messenger was lacking). I had a hunch that the 2 messaging apps were somehow conflicting with each other. So I deleted google messenger and had my daughter send me a picture. Boom. Problem fixed. I received only one picture from her using the stock messenger app. So I re-installed the Google Messenger app from the play store and had her send me the same picture again. This time, I received TWO pictures. I have no idea how to fix this behavior as you cannot "disable" the stock messenger app. I probably could try a different messenger app other than Google Messenger, but that's the one that I like. Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: I deleted Google Messenger and tried a different messenger just to test, and it worked as it should. So it must me some kind of incompatibility with Google Messenger, and I'm guessing other messenger apps.

Yup, there appears to be a non-stock messenger app problem. Both Google Messenger and Textra were resulting in duplicate MMS.
I saw this thread and thought I would jump on here real quick. My GF also has metro PCS and she keeps trying to swap the default messaging client out with say GO SMS pro. And whenever she gets a new text she doesnt get any audible notifications. And the LED doesnt light up so she has to manually check her phone all the time. Has anyone else experienced that? Have a fix?

Swipe down from the status bar, click the little icon on the right, select GO SMS pro, toggle the Set to important notice.
Phone type: Blu Life One X on Android 5.1 (whatever happened to Blu promises for a droid version update? Word of caution: Don't believe Blue marketing 'promises'. Nice phone, but don't buy it unless its the OS you are willing to live with until your next phone)
Ever since google began sending love notes about its texting app becoming obsolete and I began using a different texting app (forget which one), I started having problems with duplicate messages being received. Last night I installed Textra and thought the problem was finally gone. Today while looking at the same texts received during testing last night, I suddenly have duplicate texts from last night for some messages (they were single copies last night). Really bizarre. I have also noticed that with Textra, the double text replies seem to now be only with my group texts.
Reading various threads, I became suspicious that maybe something in the Google contact phone numbers has become corrupted. Sure enough, some of the group contact phone numbers could no longer be easily edited. I messed around with the suspect contact information until I could edit the phone number to its simplest form (from +1 (123) 345-7890 changed to 123-456-7890). Seems to be working now. Will need another day to see if the texting acts up once again.
Now to figure out what is corrupting my Google contact information...
it's the 6.0 marshmallow update ..my Blu Vivo was just fine until i updated my phone i suggest you factory reset your phone.

Yowhatsapp problem after close the screen

I use yowhatsapp in my mi 8. When I close the screen, the connection has been lost in whatsapp. After I enter whatsapp, my messages start to come. What can I do for this? Anybody help me please?
I found the problem. If I click to xioami cleaner, it closes all apps and messages don't come until I enter to whatsapp. I tried all ways but I could not ignore whatsapp
Had the same issue on my SE. Only switching to a xiaomi.eu rom fixed it for me.

Android Messages RCS not working

Has anyone swapped to the Google Messages/Android Messages app over the stock Samsung messages app on the S10/S10+ and been able to get RCS working?
I came from a Pixel 3 XL and enjoy the Android Messages app over the Samsung app even with the OneUI overhaul, but I cannot get RCS/Chat working - it is not even visible in advanced settings. If I swap to the Samsung app it sends RCS messages no problem, swap back to Android messages it goes back to SMS/MMS only. I also installed Google Carrier services thinking maybe it needed that to trigger it but nothing, looks like the Carrier services app also does not get triggered to actually provision anything even with it installed.
Would love to hear if anyone has this working
Same issue here. I prefer Android messages since I get a lot of verification codes texted to me and Android messages has a quick copy code option. On TMobile. Rcs works fine on Samsung message app.

I am using T-Mobile and I have not yet had RCS support(waiting for it), but I want to ask, how did you install Google Messages app on your new Samsung phone? Did you transfer your info including apps using Samsung Switch app? If yes, some apps may not have transferred correctly, so I would uninstall them, then reinstall or just try clearing data of that app.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Messages a few times, still does not resolve, even installed Google Carrier Services to attempt to fix. Really odd if you cant use a different message client with the same tech.

"Messages" is a public app that Google has on the Play Store (just search for 'Messages' and make sure you get the one from Google LLC), and anyone with an Android phone can download it. It's a drop-in SMS/MMS replacement for OEM (or carrier) apps for SMS/MMS.... it also supports RCS, but not on every phone.

And it looks like it may stay that way for a while: For RCS to be shared between apps, the way SMS/MMS are, Google needs to build an API so that different apps could access the same data. It LOOKED like htye were going to do that, but then 9to5Google and others reported that the code was hidden and commented out in the Android Q preview, with comments suggesting that it wouldn't be available till Android R. Lord knows why it's taking Google this many hears to get down basic functionality on something as important as messaging... they've been pushing their RCS Universal Profile since 2016, so it seems ridiculous that it'll be 2020 (for Android R) before they release an API baked into Android for it.
Textra is still my favorite SMS app. I wish Messages and Samsung Messages would implement their quick reply features
It works for me sending messages to my parents who are on Sprint with me using the Google Messages app. I'm pretty sure they are using the default Samsung messages app but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
Not exactly the same but worth a mention...Verzion S10- has Real Time Text (RTT) working..you enable this from the stock phone dialer screen, three dots at the top right for Settings > Real Time Text. You can set it to always on and you'll get the additional option to send an RTT type message call whenever you click a contact.

Question RCS not working verizon S21 ultra

So I used smart switch and copied my pixel 4 over to my s21 ultra everything worked fine rcs using the Google message app. Had to get a replacement s21 (wouldn't hold a signal) after transferring from old s21 to the new s21 rcs stopped working and now when I enable chat in Google message it hangs on verifying phone number and doesn't do anything in samsung messages. Anyone have this working on verizon?

What worked for me was to uninstall the app. Switch your default back to the same sing app or Verizon Messaging app. I redownloading the Google messaging app and made it my default. I activated the chat features and let it do it's own thing. For me after about 5-6 hours the servers confirmed and I was able to use RCS functionality.
Also in Settings, wifi, more connections I be set up a private dns; the same one I was using on my pixel.... dns.google

Been going crazy for 3 days trying everything from here to next Sunday! I read what dude said about uninstalling and going back to Verizon messaging app as default and reinstall Google messages and then make it your default again and it worked right away without a hitch! I have debloated my phone and replaced the Chinese apps with Google apps. Notifications work without any problem. I knew going into this that I wouldn't be able to use Android Auto, Google Backup, and 'Hi Google' voice activation for Google Assistant, but I've run into a snag with the Google/Android Messages app. I can send and receive text messages, but when I try to send a picture it just says "sending" and I eventually get a system notification that my message could not be sent. This happens whether I have RCS Chat enabled or turned off in the Google Messages app settings. In both the Google Messages settings and my Vivo system settings I have enabled "allow MMS messages". I know that MMS uses Mobile Data only, so I tried sending a picture with the phone's WiFi turned off thinking the phone was trying to send the pictures by WiFi rather than Mobile Data, but they still won't send. I have installed an uninstalled the app, gone into Recovery Mode and cleared the cache partition, but the problem persists. If I reinstall the default Vivo Messages app the pictures send instantly. Can anyone think of a reason why I can send SMS but not MMS in Google Messages?

Hi Craig. You know that I face the same problem. One of my friend is working in Vivo France. I contacted Vivo China to expose the problem with google message. They find something and they told him that they are going to push an update soon with a patch for google message. ✌✌✌✌✌✌
