as I'm considering to buy a Redmi Note 10s, is there any custom rom/twrp/other available for this device?
I sadly could not find any useful information.

This just happens way too often for me in particular i pickup a phone that is from the redmi note series which falls in between the pro and redmi range which then gets overshadowed by pro model with more people developing for the pro and pro max variants
I would also like to know if there is anything going on wrt custom roms for this device. I am looking to buy this device if there will be custom rom support eventually.

That is true. But recently in amazon India's annual sale, note 10s was available for as low as INR12500 (~$168) after all the discounts for the base 6GB/64GB variant which makes it one of best (specs wise) in this price range. Hence the hope that with so many buyers, some development progress, we would be able to see.
Another problem now-a-days with Mi (and even other brands) phones in India is that they deviously increase the prices post ~2 weeks of launch by minimum INR500 or more (which can be make or break for budget cautious buyers like me). Hence waiting for a custom roms might ironically mean paying more for the device later.

I'm planning to buy this phone does this have Netflix and Amazon support
asking because a reviewer said he didn't get amazon and Netflix installed

My RN10s came with both, Amazon and Netflix, and if its not, you can install both apps from play store.
If there is anyway that we can setup a pool/account to pay to the developer(s), I am happy to contribute my bit. If this is ok, experts/pros please advise.
Really looking for some help with custom rom for this otherwise awesome device. Just need to get rid of stock rom.

I think your question was already answered. In addition, If you were looking for widevine certification for consuming fhd content - yes note 10s is widevine l1 certified, so all good.
However, all that is secondary, this thread is primarily for discussion on custom rom development.

Same question here. Who does those ROMs? Are they for hire? What's missing? Is there a public repo with work in progress almost working ROMs? How does that usually go? Or do devs drop binaries out of nowhere? I assume it has to be rather transparent for security reasons already.
I would also be willing to chip in.

And if I did the mistake of buying this phone and would rather pay for a public good than for a second phone? I'd happily pay $300 for this rom but have no idea if it's rather $30k away from being available or if somebody has it done already and just was too lazy to upload.

Sometimes buying the phone is based more on it being a 'value for money' proposition. 'Less Money spent' ranks higher than the 'processor brand' for a similar spec processor (in this case better processor at almost similar price ~INR13k/~$170 USD, when compared to note 10 or realme 8-which is useless because of no root possible ever) with a hope that with the device being cheap, a lot of developers will get interested.
It might not be the case with everyone, but i believe, will apply to most of the people out there who want to change devices constantly for cheap.

Hi, currently i am working on it. It booted however there is a problem, data stays encrypted. Even after format data it still doesn't work. This is because this device uses keymaster 4.1. As i know there is currently no other fix (well i saw something on twrp's gerrit but i am not sure it will work) so you probably should wait a bit more.

Sadly not, there isn't anything at all available as Oppo doesn't allow bootloader unlocking... So there will be no development possible.

Sorry to create a post when there is already a section here labeled "Axon 40 Ultr" but, whenever I try to leave a comment I get an error and im told to refresh the page.
I just got my Axon 40 Ultra in the mail the other day, The Chinese version. Ive never owned a ZTE phone before but, when they're making phone's that look this good I figured it was worth the risk. I have a few questions. The Chinese version of the phone is the only version that can upgrade to Android 13 Beta 1. Least that's what ZTE's website says. I've tried followling the instructions on how to achieve this but, no luck. Wondering if anyone else ran into this issue as well?
Second question has to deal with creating a ZTE acct, so that I can swhich out the launcher. I assume I have to create an acct to change the launcher? Anyway, Im having an issue with that too. Anyone here succesffuly create a ZTE acct? How did you do it?

Hi I'm a new android user, have Xiaomi 11T pro, which is amazing, it was easy to root ( a must for me) but the phone has its own glitches and MUIU is horrible..
I want to get a phone that's easy to root and OnePlus comes in here I guess.
Can someone pls tell me if OnePlus 10 Pro is easy to root and which model is the best to buy? As In what model codes should I be looking at? EU,Global, Chinese?

As there is no recovery tool. I recommend to stay on color os or oxygen os...
Remember there is a lot of bricked devices just waiting for a msm tool to work.

That's just a GSI, it's quite simple to install but you'll be missing a bunch of features.
It's extremely simple to install, use the guide here on XDA to do so.
Recovery still works and fastboot enhances does too.
Unless you're a fool you won't brick your device.
I've installed every available GSI and they all have issues, you can use them for the most part but the issues will remain and alas will never be fixed.
Your plan to buy any OnePlus device is a flawed one. It's not a great device, only a device with great potential, potential that's never going to be realised.

There are no plans..
The issue is that sources from OnePlus have not been fully released iirc.
Furthermore there is no tool to recover a bricked device so if something goes wrong during testing then we're stuck in limbo.
This leaves us in a situation where we have a very capable device totally blocked by the totally greedy mungbeans that are Oppo / OnePlus.
My advice, if you've just bought your device then return it, if it's still quite new but you can't return it then sell it and get any of the pixel devices..
The current situation will not change and if it does it'll be a challenge from start to finish for the poor hapless soul who dares to start flashing their deuce with a custom ROM.
It could prove very expensive at worse or hit and miss at best, both extremely time extensive and worrying at the same time.
Wish I had better news mate, it's a sad time.

My 7 Pro is getting on in years. It still works perfectly... But I still have Android 10 (lineageos) on it.

I haven't been getting updates for a long time. All the important accesses (bank etc) are on the device. I can't afford a dist upgrade failure.
I think I will buy a 9 Pro. I like oneplus. I am very happy with it.
9 pro is a shout.. definitely have a look at the pixel 7..
7 pro was a great phone, I miss my 8 pro, it just worked and had that crazy photocrom camera...
Motorola edge ultra or the next nothing phone could both be a fair punt as well.
