My name is Carl - Introductions

I have used this forum for the purpose of rooting an Amazon Fire HD8 and installing LineageOS 17.1 to it and before that rooting a Mororola Moto G6 and flashing to it the beta of LineageOS 18.1 most of the time the custom rom of LineageOS 18.1 beta has worked pretty well. However, it glitched a whole lot on me last night and this morning. My alarm on my phone did not work and I had to use Personal Time Off and take the day off.

These are my personal LineageOS builds. They aren't much different from regular LOS, other than some added patches.

Nice. The addition of sigspoofing and substratum service would make plain LOS usable for me. Straight LOS and themes were always iffy.

ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, /e/ v0.1 ROM, microG (NoGapps), Multiboot, XDA Legacy
As nobody really posted here, I just wanted to say that this is working really well.
I had huge gps problems with the last 15.1 unofficial, but it works perfectly in this one and it has some very nice additions as well and is 100% stable for me even with xposed and magisk.
@admicos Thank you very much and I really hope that, if you have the time, you continue making these.
New build being uploaded right now, no changes other than a LOS repo sync.
The last couple test builds I made were somewhat iffy, but this one seems pretty well. (The recolored boot animation didn't make it in for some reason, but the rest are fine)
Everytime when i reboot the system to os or recovery, the recovery looks replaced and i cant mount data.
Not sure what caused it,i just flashed this on my non treble axon 7

I'm not sure why that's happening either. Can you replicate this on official LOS? If you can, I'd suggest you try asking on their thread, they might know more.
Good ROM for a while, why not update it? Is there a new kernel upgrade for the top post?

What version of Xposed are you using? I've always wanted to try this ROM, but thought there wasn't an official Xposed yet. The others I knew at the time were reportedly shady.
Sorry for the long wait (kinda forgot about this existing :/), and sorry for the bad news;
As I am planning to switch to another phone, I cannot continue making this anymore.
I might continue this as a GSI or something, but I really don't know if that will happen, as Android source is a big mess that I don't think I, and my (reasonably fast) CPU are prepared to handle. (Any pointers to dealing with this are greatly appreciated)
It was a fun two years lurking around.
(ps: The source link is completely borked (and all my sources are gone). I probably should stop trying to be fancy and use a public Git server like a normal person the next time)
If your build env is on Docker, I can easily stage a build server for you. It won't be fast, but you can leave it running all night long if you need, and free up your computer.
Also, if you're not using Docker, I can help you set it up, so anyone else can easily build by themselves if they choose to do so.
Can I upgrade the kernel?

Which ROM for the Moto G6 (XT1925-5)?

Hello.
I have been planning a firmware upgrade on my moto g6 (XT1925-5) for a long time. However, the more I read, the more I have doubts about which ROM to choose.
Therefore, I have a question for those users who checked the three primary candidates: Resurrection Remix, RevengeOS, and LineageOS 17.1 -
which is the most stable and trouble-free for the casual user?

None of them.
Revenge OS has lost the support for G6 and the latest version of rom still with some bugs. Linneage OS is pretty good but in my opinion is a little limitited. Resurrection Remix it's good too, but nothing much relevant, just a Linneage with some modifications.
In my opinion, Pixel Experience is the best option. It's complete, fast, came with gapps and the have the best battery autonomy.

Well, this is just my opinion. Test each and maybe you'll have a different experience as mine.

Thank You for your answer.
I have read about this ROM and am ready to try it out. Is there a tutorial on installing this ROM somewhere? I don't want to make a mistake.

Looking for a SM-T510 ROM recommendation.

Hello all, I’m about to unlock my bootloader and thinking of flashing a custom ROM. Would like to know what everyone’s using on their tablet.

Every user has its own favorite, but Lineage OS (LOS) is very popular:
[ROM][SM-T510][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 18.1 for Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019)
In the spirit of moving custom ROM development along for the 2019 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 [SM-T510], here's a build of LineageOS 18.1 I just created based on the latest OEM stock firmware and @AndyYan's latest LineageOS 18.1 GSI. It's very much a work...

Question Experience LineageOS on Zenfone 8

Hello,
yesterday I bought an ASUS Zenfone 8 for installing LineageOS but now I am, first unsure aboute the size, its very unusual and second, I am interessed how LOS works on the Zenfone. (at the moment I am having an Oneplus 6T with LOS and I love it)
So, maybe someone can tell me about his/her experience with the Zenfone and LOS.
Thank you!
Why you didn't read and didn't ask about it in LOS thread here?

I do read the LOS thread, but most of the post are about which things work, or not, how they can fix things and so on. I hoped to get a more like a daily work experience or so... but maybe I will post thist in the LOS thread then.
I'm quite satisfied with LOS on this device. I wanted to degoogle my phone. Went with los with microg and ota updates works fine. I've installed the wachaya (?) gcam so I can use both cameras on the phone. Battery time is good and I've found foss alternatives to most applications I used earlier.

Question Issues with LOS+microG & opinions about Omnirom

Hi everyone,
I'm using LineageOS+microG on my Zenfone 8 since 6 months, but I'm not fully satisfied.
Indeed, I regularly encounter some issues like:
Capricious fingerprint sensor.
Various graphic bugs (when opening the notification bar, or the last applications menu).
The phone asks for the PIN code, whereas it is already unlocked.
Sometime I can't control it anymore, there are invisible click everywhere in the screen... Scarce but very annoying.
I come from a Lineage 18 on a Oneplus, and it had been working perfectly. So maybe it's just due to Lineage 19?
Moreover, the LineageOS+microG project seems not to offer weekly updates - for instance, the last LineageOS version date from 2022-11-19 and the last LineageOS+microG from 2022-10-23.
So I have two questions:
Are these issues normal, or related to my phone? If yes, what can I do?
I've seen that there is another ROM for Zenfone 8: Omnirom. I don't know it well, can I expect some improvements if I install it instead of LOS?
Thank in advance for your feedbacks.

I'm using OmniROM with MicroG on my Asus Zenfone 8 since I bought the phone several month ago without problems. Everything I need works -- IMHO it's a perfect Android for the Zenfone 8 .
And OmniROM supports signature spoofing so the patched Playstore works.
I don't think that weekly updates are necessary for a phone OS (AFAIK google releases Android patches only once a month) but if you need them : There is a new image for OmniROM created every week.
And you can simply copy the repositories for OmniROM to your local workstation and create your own image of the OS as often as you like (after resyncing the repos)
For more details regarding creating your own OmniROM image see

Hi bnsmb,
Thanks for your review about Omnirom, it looks interesting.
As everything works well for you, it would mean that whether my phone has an issue, whether LOS contains more bugs than Omnirom... but I'm surprised about that. I thought LOS would be stable too.
I'm agree with you about the updates, I don't need once a week, except when the firmware looks unstable.
