Stable build probably won't be available till OrangeFox Android 11 sources come out which won't be anytime soon. Also, TWRP will probably get a stable build way sooner than OrangeFox

I might have missed writing it before but till orangefox comes out with Android 11 source there's not much that can be done with regards to decryption. It doesn't currently support keymaster4 and the branch Nebrassy is using for twrp the under development 11 branch so until twrp releases that as stable , ofox A11 branch development won't start so it won't be anytime soon that these things get fixed.

So sad to hear that, anyway, thank you for support the comunity of sweet. Best wish for you and make many good things for redmi note 10 pro

@Yillié Hi, thanks for this recovery, I just love OFOX, can you please do a little modification and remove the second entry for the super partition in the New backup section?
One is called Super and second is called Super (Product, Vendor, System, System_ex...), and we only need one (both are producing bit by bit identical output of the super partition).
There is also a bug present which can make your backup significantly bigger, because if you mark partitions you want to backup and you will mark for example Super and then you decide to make some change to backup name, after you confirm your backup name changes, second entry called Super (Product, Vendor, System, System_ex...) is automatically selected and instead of 8GB of "super data" you have 16GB of "super data" to backup if unnoticed.
Thanks

Hi. Reset password, installation su and magisk, aroma fm not working, says reinstalling recovery. What i do not right? If I need additional files i must know their names and pathes. Please help.
Upd: There is img (not zip) file in download section. I found full zip file in topic about Orange fox for project treble and replace recovery.img in archive.
Problem now solved. Thanx.
Hello @ROMFACTORY!
During the last four days I have done a lot of rom flashing and nandroid backups/restores with your OrangeFox build and it worked really well. :good::good:
IMHO Orange Fox is the best recovery available for the Mi Max 2.
Would you please add to your "To do" list update Orange Fox to current version - R8.1.
No rush, but if you find the time it will be super.
I have a redmi 4X (santoni). I'm on stock miui 9.6.4. I have now unlocked the bootloader and want to upgrade to a new version of android. I have a very old version of twrp installed (the one which is in Chinese 2.x.x). What steps do I need to follow to install this recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OrangeFox R9.0 beta test
If anyone is interested in beta testing R9.0 betas, let me know by PM.
PS: please don't volunteer if you don't know how to recover from bootloops - or if you don't have up-to-date backups of your device - else ... :crying: may be the result.

Yes GSI pretty stable & functional but still not feels like a real ROM :-( , GSI lag issues are there as well as lacks customizations compared to ROMs.

This thread is specifically for OrangeFox recovery build for the devices mentioned in the title above. For others, please refer to wiki.orangefox.tech or wherever you got the file from. And please don't continue this discussion by replying to this thread.
Hello everyone! I flashed 'vbmeta.img' and then 'recovery.img' using 'Heimdall' (I chose it because I'm on Linux with no Windows available). The flashing part was successful. However, the phone gets into a bootloop when trying to boot into Android and the phone can't be turned off. I never touched the other partitions apart from VBMETA and RECOVERY. Right now I'm only able to enter recovery and download mode. Could you please recommend me something?
Can you elaborate what specifically you mean by bootloop?
Gets stuck at the boot animation? If yes, then try disabling dm verity or flashing magisk based on your preference.

You'll Have to Reboot to Recovery Once
In that case, maybe consider disabling wipe of Data and Internal Storage after format of /data.

I am having trouble in mounting the partitions on OF after flashing it. It just shows a "Fox" folder in the /sdcard and I can't mount any of the partitions from the mount menu except usb-otg. I followed the instructions as given and just saw the /sdcard folder once just after flashing the recovery. I think its a data encryption error as that's the only time it prompted me to enter the password(in my case the pattern). Can I get some help regarding this please?

I recently installed the orange fox recovery and flashed android 12 evo x. After that the orange fox is not showing the internal storage. I tried everything from the internet, nothing is working. Formatted data multiple times and also reinstalled the OF recovery again but nothing seems to work. Now i am stuck with the same ROM and can't do anything. Please do something quick about this. Thank You.

I accidentally installed orange fox on my device via twrp, but now my phone just turns on up to the manufacturer's logo and turns off immediately, I can still go into bootloader and recovery mode normally, but all the roms I install, whatever custom or stock, my device just starts up to the logo and shuts down, I know I could post just about that, but I need feedback from a developer, or someone who understands, please reply and I'm sorry for the bother.

The OrangeFox-R12.1-OPKONA-V19.zip can be flashed or sideloaded in recovery to install the Fox addons like Magisk etc.
If the touchscreen is not working for you after booting/flashing Orangefox please make sure that the booted Orangefox is on the same OOS base as your phone is on!
Note: fastbootd is not working on the OOS13 based Orangefox!!
Take a look at this Post from TWRP in regards of Backup and Restore or
here from the Orangefox wiki.
Spoiler: Flashing Instructions and switching OOS Firmware Base
Keep in mind! Never flash a recovery file if you are not on the same OOS Firmware as the recovery is for, otherwise you will end up in Qualcomm Crashdump mode or just a black screen.
Always just do a fastboot boot recovery.img until you are on the same OOS Firmware on your phone as the recovery is for, only then you can flash it with fastboot flash recovery as well!

The Messages failed to mount system, vendor after flashing a ROM can be ignored.
That is due to mounting those for both ext4 and EROFS and of course you can have only one of them.
If you get a Bootloop after flashing a ROM and having done a Format Data do the below:
Boot to bootloader and:
- fastboot devices
- fastboot -w
- fastboot reboot

Hello! You mean you want to edit/modify the splash screen? I think that can only be done directly on the source side before building the OrangeFox recovery. That is how I have done that in the past.

I will have a look at that if I can find out why it is like this.

thank you very much, nice work btw
Hi all!
I will need to rebuild the OrangeFox and also found some other small thing I need to fix.
I will do that and upload a new Version in the next days.
Seems I messed up something when changing the devicename (kebab/OnePlus8T).
Hi all!
I have just uploaded a new Version of my Orangefox.
Now it should be possible to correctly flash/install it.
Changelog:
- Changed device name from kebab to OnePlus8T
- Some small bug fixes
The download link is updated with the new Version in the OP.
Enjoy.

Just updated to this build and it wont let me boot back to the OS, just loops back to orange fox recovery, tried flashing the OLD version but that errors, fastbooted the old version and it wont let you flash OF back again... had to resort to booting TWRP to get the system working again.. Now back on the older Orange Fox which we love ....

Since this is based on the OrangeFox 11.0 sources and there are no sources for OrangeFox 12.0 which would be based on Android 12 this is still based on Android 11 until there are new sources for OrangeFox which I can use to build a new Version with full Android 12 support.
So OrangeFox Version R11.1 is not able to decrypt the Storage when you are on Android 12!
I guess you can still flash/use Android 12 with OrangeFox so long your Storage is not encrypted.
It is most about the encryption of Android 12 which is different and will not work with this OrangeFox Version as of now.
Interesting and nice with an alternative to TWRP for this device.
Do orangefox also have the same ~50s boot delay that the current TWRP version for 8T has?

Yes that booting delay is almost the same as TWRP I would say.

This is build and adjusted for the Oneplus 8t only, so it could be that not everything is working on the 9R now.
