Did you call someone while this appeared?
I think that should indicate that your calling right now.

Check the phone's manual...

That could be the automatic call identify function which also update periodically via auto update. Details can be found in security settings.

This means wifi calling is enabled i.e. calls getting routed through the wifi network that you are on. Airtel (India) has enabled this feature for sometime now.

Oh wow. Yes. This one makes sense. Thanks
Any way to disable it? It's quite redundant if you ask me. Taking up that space.

settings>Network & Internet> sim card and mobile network> Select the sim card you are using> scroll all the down and you will see wifi calling > tap on it > switch off.
or the easier way would be
settings> select search from top > type wifi calling > it will take you the same place then select and switch off

[Q] Delete attwifi Hotspot?

Does anyone know how to remove the attwifi hotspot from the list of hotspots? With ICS I can no longer delete it with a long press and forget network. Also I no longer have access to the auto connect option. Where is the address stored and can it be reoved from the file?
Do you still have the ATTWIFI hotspot application installed ?
I have uninstalled mine and the ATTWIFI hotspot doesn't show up.
i have removed all of teh bloatware and it is still there. Now I did find it mentioned in the /system/etc/wifi folder in the file wpa_supplicant. Anyone know if this will fix it if I delete or modify this file?
Go to settings/apps/ and you can disable any app with ICS
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
It is not an app I am trying to disable just the access point ATTWIFI so that my phone will not automatically connecto to it every time I drive by a McDonalds or a Starbucks
did anyone figure this out yet? i'm on on rooted stock 2.3.5 and have the same problem. and there are more of these damn 'attwifi' hotspots popping up. super annoying.
A long press on my phone gives me a menu with "Forget Network" (I bumped the volume switch while capturing screen):

LG G6 T-Mobile No WiFi Calling Quick Settings Tile? Anything to Supplement?

I jumped over from the Samsung S7 Edge which had a wifi calling quick settings tile for Nougat.....Is there a way to add one without root? Or an app that has a widget for it?
Or a way to add a home screen button through Nova Launcher?
I've been trying to figure this out for about an hour now
[Double post]
WiFi calling is in the phone settings. Open the dialer, hit the menu buttons and settings.

Hey yea Im familiar with how to turn it off and on in the settings menu. :good::good:
I was asking if there was a way to add a quick settings tile for it along with the others under the top notifications bar.

Notification: "Allow the WAP Push application to receive messages..." What to do??

Notification: "Allow the WAP Push application to receive messages..." What to do??
I don't understand what this is all about. I just got this phone last week, and ever since it was up and running, including first boot (if I recall correctly), I've had this cell-tower-like icon in my upper left corner. Always. Swiping down from the top reveals the following notice, and I'm given the chance to allow or deny.

Googling the content of this notice doesn't yield anything very informative, so I have a few questions:
1.) Is this coming from some app that can be disabled or uninstalled if I choose? Or is it part of the Android Oreo OS itself?
2.) What does it do if I allow it? Might it be useful or just some kind of spam?
If it's relevant, this phone was the international version, with the firmware probably Chinese (but of course I switched the language to English). Thanks for any info/help!

WAP push allows photos, URL links, wallpaper, ringtones, etc etc, to be directly embeded into SMS messages, so long as the sending server has it enabled.
It's an effort to bring SMS up to the speed of instant messaging, although it's probably a bit too late to catch up. Enabling it doesn't mean it'll work either, it has to be enabled with your service provider also.
I have mine disabled, effected nothing.
Theres quite a good explanation on StackOverflow

Unlocked Galaxy Note 8 Volte Enable

Has somebody checked how to enable VoLTE on unlocked Galaxy Note 8??
Look in settings of the phone app...
Well, in my case, enabling volte involved 2 steps, I received a sms from my carrier telling me that for using volte I had to go to them, there they issued me a new sim card AND they activated the service in THEIR system, with these two steps , the volte switch in settings became functional(no longer grayed out)
Yeah there is no setting present.
Earlier on Nougat we could get setting through Shortcut master app, but that failed on orea and even on pie.
So is there any other method to get volte setting.
I have US N950U1 model working in India.

Yup. I did already enable the VOLTE
Just head over the settings.
Once you're in there then just choose " CONNECTION "
then " MOBILE NETWORK ".
The VoLTE option has to be there under the name of " VoLTE Calls "

I just got the august security patch and now I have wifi calling and VoLTE option, it wasnt there before, my phone is the unlocked US version N950U1, the compilation version is the N950U1UEUDSH3

I flashed a W version of the firmware and somehow, the option for USB Tethering is there lol.
Seems like a UI error to me. Someone has accidently overwritten the string for that text label. Not a serious issue. Just confusing as you discovered. I bet if you selected it, you would have had USB tethering by default. Either way, you can always manually select USB tethering from the connections category in settings.
