Question Sorry couldn't find a threat for the x30 pro - Vivo X60 Pro+

I'm interested in buying the vivo x30 pro, and I have some questions since I couldn't find a lot about this phone on the internet, I'm hoping to get answers from people who actually own the phone, so here goes :
1. How's the battery life in 2021? How much SoT are you getting?
2. What's the settings you can get on PUBG mobile?
3. Are the cameras as good as they seem?
4. What's the latest software update you received?
Thank you.

Recommendation: Go for P20 Pro or...?

Hi guys,
I need some recommendations from you. I am coming from a chaing of Samsung devices. (S3, S7 Edge, my latest device was a Note 8, which I sadly lost on the weekend), so now I need something new...
Simple question, after your experiences with the P20 Pro, would you still recommend it?
My most important priorities for a mobile are:
1.) Camera!
2.) Battery / runtime
3.) Updates
in that order.
I don't care about rooting & flashing any more tbh, these times are behind me
I am also not a big mobile gamer.
Other contenders I think about next to the P20 Pro are currently:
- S9+
- Oneplus 6T
- ?
Would you still go for the P20 pro? Or select something different?
Thanks!
Sorry, deleted.
Sorry, I could not add link with other old account (never posted !)
I'll then try to delete the other post.
Here is what I wrote :
Got my P20 pro 2 weeks ago.
I come from Sony (Z, Z2, XZ,...) and decided to change after lots of frustration (Sony SHOULD be better. Why do others do better with their own hardware ?!)
I chose the P20 pro for its camera, after reading lots of 'reviews'...
And I'm very disapointed... IA is bull****, I don't use it.
Zoom has nothing to do with 'optical' : you get better results cropping a 40 Mo 'pro' mode picture.
But the worst thing is distortion, that's just incredible...
I'll come back with pictures, I'm at work now !
Just my 2 cents : try to find someone that can make you try the P20 pro camera. Maybe you'll like it (many do), many you won't.
now that I know, I would not buy without testing myself.
+ v9 update has lots of important bugs (see posts in this forum) , I went back to 8.1.
(I see you don't care about UB, root,... but the Huawei policy should have left me far from them... Sadly, I read this forum 6 months ago, before bying recently, and then discovered they don't give UB code any more !)
This is a review I found a bit too late :
https://pocketnow.com/huawei-p20-pro-photographers-guide
You may find this interesting : https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/help/shooting-raw-severe-vignetting-t3776240/page3
I did test cornerfix with the P20 pro profile : it's far better.
But I already have a Canon 7D as DSLR and enough raw files to edit !
I'm coming from s7edge as well.
Would not pick the p20 Pro the second time.
The photos look good, the night mode is really good but similar results I could get with s7e .
Video quality is horrid (s7e modded to 100mbps bitrate)
Now, I would go for op6 as temporary phone and later down the year switch it to something more modern.
I had the op 6t and the camera was absolute trash. Couldn't shoot anything with the slightest movement and super soft when shooting people. Maybe things have gotten better since launch. I loved the software but had to return due to the camera.
Camera on the p20 pro is good, but it's not life changing. I like the s8 and s9 cameras. They do some things better, some worse.
Updates depend on the region you are located. I have the Chinese version and with hicare in China region I get updates quickly. Battery life is good, I get a full day and I'm a pretty heavy user. No way I get 2 days on this tho like others say.
Thanks you guys so far!
Status:
Makes me a little uncomfortable regarding the P20 and disqualifies the OPO6T so far
So to be clear what I personally expect from a camera
- I want an auto-mode click and shoot cam which delivers great results
- with a fast shutter speed! (moving objects in not optimal lighting conditions shouldn't be blurred because of auto-low shutter speeds)
- I don't care much about pro-modes, RAW & optical zooms & selfies...
In that regard I think I would normally go with the Pixel 3, but my problem is that it's not officially sold in my country and it's very expensive.
So seems like S9+ vs P20 Pro now.
Judging from my Note 8, which had troubles making pics of moving stuff indoors or at poorer light, I'd say that the S9 will suffer the same behaviour.
How does the P20 Pro do here?
And is the video quality of the P20 really that bad??
I can't think of any other good camera phones which play in the same league as both of them, which are reasonably priced ( bye bye Pixel :crying: )

The first things to do with your realme x2 budget king

First, I strongly believe that sub $300 phones can do almost everything you'll ever need
in your Android phone as Budget phones keep getting better and better.
Realme x2 is the latest proof of this and it took me some time to research to come to
this conclusion from this thread
I was about settling for Mi 9 Lite (Mi CC9) when the global version of X2 came out
and it turns out that the only thing I will miss is IR blaster, which is not a deal-breaker
when you compare it to the things I could gain with Realme X2 over it.
I just ordered Realme X2 Global version (8/128G) here for $279 with free shipping which is fast.
You could even get a better deal with 11.11 festival around the corner but this is a great
value. And as my tradition is, I always discuss the first things I do with a new phone.
BOOTLOADER UNLOCK
This one is still a mystery on how to unlock the bootloader but a mystery I am determined
to find an answer to before my phone arrives in about 2 weeks.
TWRP, ROOT, AND MAGISK
I am not sure how much bloatware is in X2 Global version but I usually use phones
with root access so, I will have to get that.
I am a bit worried about the poor Dev community response to this great phone but I am
not perturbed bc it is still a new phone.
ALL KINDS OF TEST
I don't usually believe in antutu benchmarks but I'll add the test for others who will love to see it.
I am a real-life day to day usage test kind of person. Wifi download speeds, file copy and write speeds,
LTE download speeds, multiple SOT test, multiple battery drain/Charging test, NFC test, Gcam, Photos and
videos, inbuilt mic recording quality, GPS test, Bluetooth tests, OTG test etc.
SD730G is here to stay and will still be a 2020 budget king SoC contender so, you cannot go wrong with
Realme X2
Good post.
What some people don't realise that the difference between 730G and 855+ SoC is very minor and you can't feel it in your every day use. But for some reason people are willing to pay $200-$300 more for a 855+ device
Also the new hyp about over 100MP cameras is pretty riddiculous. Taking 100MP photos everyday is just so unpractical and more often than not, it would distort the quality of the photo.
I am pretty hopeful that the dev community will pick up once the device is a little older e.g. in 6 to 8 months time. We should be able to unlock the bootloader and get custom ROMs for it.

The main beef I had with realme marketing strategy was the close proximity of X2 and X2pro
The X2pro took out the shine from X2 a bit as I strongly believed that X2 is a better all-round phone
than Redmi Note 8pro. They should have given it 3 - 6 months Gap before marketing the pro version
Xaiomi selling Mi Note 10 with (SD 730G) way higher than X2 is a great marketing Advantage for
Realme X2 which is not doing too badly on the megapixels count race. Megapixels don't count
all that much (ask Pixel and iPhone) good sensors and software are way more important.
Once the dev community picks up, you can even tweak this phone to get an improved
performance and software experience.
I am not interested in spending an extra $150 - 250 for SD855 it makes no sense to pay that
to get 4k 60fsp that I may not ever use as 4k30fsp is large enough. It's like paying more to
get a more power-hungry processor, Power draining 90Hz and stereo speaker when I
consume all my media with headset or Bluetooth, Yeah! I'll pass, not a heavy gamer and even if I do, SD730G can game heavy. The real-life difference is so minute and insignificant. Unfortunately, some people still buy phones only antutu benchmark scores
Like Bolumstar said, Realme killed the x2 when they released the x2pro almost immediately. A quick search of realme x2 on google, and all you will see is realme x2pro. It was really annoying cos this is a great around phone. 730G is as good as it gets for me. Anything higher is like killing an ant with a sledgehammer. What exactly am I gonna do with 108mp camera? Take a picture of the solar system? 64mp is already crazy enough. 108mp is madness.
I have the China version and I can't wait to install the global rom on it. I'm hoping on all the tech guys here to come up with some instructions on how to go about. Thanks

No for now but when custom Recovery and Roms comes out you will be able to do that
uninstalling apps store browser and wallet app through adb command is also very convenient
It's here people! And it is gorgeous
Original EU version 8/128G
I am loving it. Got the latest update and the

You said it. Totally agree. I'm a Pixel 3a user (which has the even "worse" 670), and I definitively don't think that I will need even a Hertz more of CPU. And I'm surely not the "average user" person.
I'm thinking of actually buying this for my mother or give her the Pixel 3a and take this one, but I think I kinda fall in love with the Pixel experience right now (also if Android 10 is pretty buggy IMHO).

The Pixel 3a is a rip-off in comparision. BTW. it is not all about performance, the 730G is much more efficient.
Realme x2 is a great phone. On the processor you have already said enough, the cost difference with the slightly more powerful processors is too much not to consider the best 730g of these.
Obviously the performance of a smartphone is not the result of the soc alone, but the X2 is the set of these, of a good amount of ram, 8GB in LPDDR4X, a UFS 2.1 internal storage, a super amoled FHD + display with a readability spectacular in all light conditions and with any reading angle. I use it with a Samsung V3 512 GB sd card and the file transfer from the internal storage to the latter is very fast. the connectivity sector is also excellent, good wifi and LTE reception, excellent bluetooth, completed by the presence of the NFC. as for energy consumption it is easy to spend praise, I read the battery drain on the forum, well I have no knowledge of it, I have always used the Ampere widget on the home to keep the current constantly under control and so far I never had having seen a smartphone consume only 100 mh at rest between 350 and 700 in use, even heavy. To this must be added the VOOC recharging speed which is really fast and unimpeded, I explain, with the redmi you have the quick charge which should give almost the same performance, but from personal experience I know it is not so, while I loaded with a charger quick 3 the phone became a stove, temperatures between 45 and 50 degrees, throttling and reducing the charging current from 3200 m to just 1500. The Realme quietly charges with temperatures of only 30 ° at 3400 mh and drops only on '86% of the battery at 1500 as rightly needs to be.
I now come to what I think is a huge mistake that all average users make when they choose to buy one phone over another. The first question is: "How many megapixels does the camera have?"... In my opinion, a smartphone is a smartphone, it could even have six thousand megapixels, it can never, ever have the performance of a camera, even simply of average price . Photography is not done with megapixels, but with good quality optical lens, with shots chosen through optical and non-digital zoom, with lighting reading systems for choosing the right exposure times and apertures... The smartphone in my opinion it is enough that you make decent pictures of your daughter's birthday and pictures of the holiday and that's it. I give an example... How many of us really want to go around in the dark countryside to photograph the stars with the astrography function??? Because only in this way the stars are photographed, without optical noise of city lights, and I add with exposure times that they would like a tripod that follows the rotation.
The Realme as a photographic sector also decently answers with the camera stock. It has a bit too much saturation in the colors, but if like me you are content to take "normal" photos, giving up slowmotion, night photos, just look for a decent gcam that allows you to set the white control in the settings, AWB, and the HDR+ options and it becomes spectacular. Obviously this makes it clear that the photo hardware is excellent and a bit more effort than Realme would be enough to improve the software and the stock camera would be enough.
So far I have always had mid-range smartphones, starting with the legendary OnePlus One, going from Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi note 7. everyone has endured shameless modding, the One has seen six versions of android and hundreds of roms, and it scared me a little the fact that the Realme X2, both, we hope, because new, and because as has been said above was overwhelmed by the Realme X2 Pro, it still didn't have a good community dev. Instead I must say with great satisfaction that even as it is, stock, with a bit of debloat from adb, with AdGuard that removes the ads from the browsers, with Sd Maid pro that keeps it clean thanks to the scheduler, I don't even feel the lack in the slightest of custom roms and, even for the first time, even root.
Of course if there would be everything it would be easier, but, which I do not understand, Realme seems to put stakes to unlock the bootloader, in my opinion or give it a chance without detracting from the phone reducing it category in the security environment or not. ..
But this is a strategy speech and we will see how much will be exceeded by the spread of the telephone. In fact I am convinced that the development community is regulated by the demand and the offer, the more we will be the owners of the device the more modding demand there will be and the more we will have ...

Question Camera comparison between different ROM

Hello
I am looking to purchase an MI 11 ultra and i had a doubt.
I came across an article online that states that the china rom has received some updates to the camera and that these updates had not yet come to other versions.
However, i am not sure what is the latest information regarding this.
Have these been sorted in other roms or not ?
My main hesitancy is due some information i came across online that states the camera's on 11 Ultra are great on paper, but require further tweaking to make them shine.
I would have used the china rom, but i understand that is not without its own issues.
Looking for some guidance here.
Which is overall the best rom to be used ?
I do not use android auto, assistant, i can take it or leave it.
That is not easy to answer as it is also personal preference. But from MY point of view I can tell you that I use CN weekly update as daily driver and had no issues. Important is to disable the powerkeeper through ADB. Then you will get all messages (Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram....) on time without delay. Also other bloatware can be easily removed. Still I have around 50% juice left after a day with "normal" use. So in summary I get around 7-8 hours SOT within 48 hours. In general I don't play games. Mostly I'm reading, calling, using Messenger apps or making pictures. I also tried the GLOBAL, EEA and .eu ROMS. But was always missing some extra stuff from the weekly CN version. Can't really talk about the picture quality as I was never staying very long on other version then CN weekly.

I ma on the latest Global Rom (12.5.8). The camera is simply fantastic and regularly my friends with iPhones 13 Pro ask me to take the pics for all of us because they end up being the best (Especially at night)
You're right the initial Global Rom wasn't using the most optimized firmware for the camera (The one which allowed the phone to score so high on DXO Mark). But this has been fixed since.
I don't think you have to worry about it.
That being said, with the 12 Ultra around the corner (Probably Feb-Mar 2022) you are probably better off waiting a few months if you can. I don't know if the camera will be a major upgrade (likely not) but in the worst case you should be able to get a better price on the 11 Ultra once the 12 is out
I have the same camera experience as you... And btw i saw today the camera should be exactly the same on both mi 11 ultra and mi 12 ultra, but who knows before we see the reality
Btw,
If you read comments in dx0mark you'll find an answer that says it was graded based on global rom 12.5.3. Not 12.5.4 Chinese as claimed

General Getting the global / UK 10 pro, hows your experience been?

Hi all,
Have currently got the 8 pro but ordered the 8GB 10 pro.
I'm not overly concerned with storage or with the RAM size as 12GB doesnt really get utilised.
I'll be making a few guides on rooting plus the patched images, getting the clock in the middle and hoping the likes of Evo X comes over to the 10 pro although I'm sure we will get ROMs at some point.
PS: where are the categories for this forum? Q+A / guides / development etc?? Looks so messy without them, horrible.

Question "New" OnePlus 10 Pro Worth it

Hi,everyone been on iPhone on and off since the 3GS, I'm looking to upgrade my 11 Pro Max and thinking of getting the "New" OnePlus 10 Pro. I had the OnePlus 1 and the OnePlus 7T so I'm not new to OnePlus or OxagenIOs but the reviews have been mixed. I figured I would ask the community if it was worth the switch and if not the OnePlus 10 Pro https://nox.tips/ https://xender.vip/ any recommendations for a new phone, right now I'm also looking at the Pixel 6 Pro or thinking of waiting till the Pixel 7.

Also you must call it "OPPO 10 Pro"
"OnePlus" doesn't exists anymore !!
Just wait for pixel 7 ...

To provide an alternative perspective for the OP, I disagree with Saeed that the phone is garbage. ColorOS is not buggy for me, and I personally like the features. So personal preference here, you might like it or maybe not.
I can agree that it is a bummer there is no MSM tool, but IMO the only time I have needed that tool was when I was into custom ROMs and get a bad build, or I did something stupid by not reading instructions. Never had an issue with just OOS rooting and flashing.
Also, I have just have no time for tinkering/experimenting with my phone anymore and I am happy with just OOS. So I have no interest in custom ROMs, I don't have time to constantly be fixing my phone from buggy or custom stuff. I need it to be stable, have root and I am happy.
Same with TWRP, I haven't used that in probably 4 years now. All I do is unlock bootloader, boot a patched Magisk boot, patch the phone boot, and I am done. I have zero need for TWRP.
To the point about full flashable ROMs, one would only need them if they're constantly ROM hopping, which of course does not affect me.
So if you're like me and don't need custom ROMs or recovery, the phone will be great. I am very happy with it. If you're like Saeed, then you'll be posting multiple exclamation points after every sentence. All about perspective/preferences.
Sidenote, I personally was very disappointed when I tried the Pixel 6. Software had none of the features that OOS has, like screen off gestures (music control, flashlight ect), hide icons on status bar, ect. Just a bunch of small things that I didn't know I'd miss. Also, the charging speed was crazy slow compared to OnePlus, and finally the modem had the worse cell reception I have ever experienced in a smartphone. YMMV
I ditched mine, but it's a nice device with stock setup....

I wouldn't even take a free one. Boycott them

+1 Yeah!
With pixel we have full factory images FOR EVERY UPDATE
Bare in mind that the information gathered about the the pixel 7 is pre release and wont be a fair rep of the chip.
It's meant to be the same but improved chip so battery life will be improved.
Also GPU improvements which should make gaming a little better, top games and emulators could already run on the 6 and 6 pro respectively, so the 7 could hit a sweet spot with current software available, the one thing that was bad with the 6 was the battery and increasing heat when gaming.
Overall I think it's too early to tell, with Chinese devices being ever more spyware ridden and locked down I personally wouldn't be 100% happy getting any of them, certainly not any of the big ones like OnePlus / oppo / Xiaomi.
The pixel 7 I think will be the device that people will be flock to, developers and users alike.
I don't think it'll be perfect, nor was I overehelmed by the news of the SOC, but if I had to choose between that and the turds floating out of the south china sea then I'd go with the 7..
That's my thinking at this point.
Certainly send like the battleground of mobile devices is starting to look more political, I doubt that'll go away any time soon.
It's all a matter of personal preference.
I sent mine back today. Tried to like it, but it was frustrating the life out of me. Stuck my sim back in my S21 ultra and the difference between the two is like night and day.
I think my time with OnePlus is done after all the years being with them.
If Samsung had an alert slider then that would be just perfect for me.

If Samsung made a vanilla device with pure android they'd completely clean up..
Plus they need to drop that exynos crap and chill on the bootloader locking stuff.
Give people a choice.
Also I don't think you're alone in not getting another OnePlus.
They're dead
I really like the OnePlus 10 Pro 12/512GB, even the Oppofied software. My only issue with them is the nonsense with not being able to have custom rom.
I have the 12/256 variant and love it.
It's far more enjoyable than my pixel 6 pro was as well as my rog phone 5.

Oddly enough the oneplus can run pubg mobile on HDR and extreme fps and the rog can't. Overall I'd say it's the same for gaming. I'm running pubg mobile and genshin on the same settings on my 10 pro as I was on my rog.
The camera on the rog is absolutely **** as is the durability. It's not even water resistantet let alone waterproof. The game genie software is top notch though as are the air triggers and I'd say that it has bar none the best speakers in a phone.
