Question Owning a Chinese version of Mi 11 - Xiaomi Mi 11

What distinguishes the Global version from Chinese? is it only the system's language that intrigues people to Global version? if so, then I am good if the Chinese version fully supports English, does it? (beside the Chinese apps) I also found that Chinese version frequencies work fine in my hometown, but I have seen someone's post on Mi Community claims that Chinese Mi 11 with global ROM doesn't work on LTE-A while global Mi 11 works perfectly (https://c.mi.com/thread-3619711-1-0.html?sources=1) is it a problem related to flashing or because it's originally Chinese phone?

Kimovil.com says the same bands are in both for 2g 3g 4g and 5g

MI 9 Global LTE (B20) / Chinese LTE (B17)

Hi,
Can somebody help me?
I have a question.
Is the LTE B20/B17 difference in hardware or software?
If I buy one Mi 9 Chinese version phone and than I put the phone a Global ROM the B20 frekvency is will working?
Sorry for my poor English.

no - just no.
its not a software unlock, frequencies were locked in hardware.

Question Switching to global rom - modem files

Hello everyone,
Searched the forums and could not find a definitive info regarding this, apologize in advance if i missed it.
I'm soon to receive my mi 11 ultra china version.
Alltough the bands used by all the carriers in my country are all supported, i've read somewhere on the mi 11 forum that the modem settings for china are different from the global/eu rom ( at least for the mi 11 ).
Wanted to know if i flash the original global/eea rom from xiaomi via the official tool, will i also get the modem configuration from the global/eea rom ? ( Just like the global mi 11 ultra )
Cheers !

i think you can BUT, don NOT lock the BL when you have a cn version running global or EEA.
As far as i know you can flash other versions as long as you keep BL unlocked, or it wil brick and you need EDL

You can unbrick now without edl iirc
There is a method on YouTube but I haven't needed to try it yet
When you down load the ZIP document with ROM every week, boot (kernel) & device ... Some instances it is also called modem or baseband (no idea what is the right ... I have Mi4w with miui7 ultimate international builders model.

If you mean the modem configuration like unlock needed bands it won't work.
I am not sure, but I guess it can be done. As far as I know, you can flash other versions after you keep the BL unlocked, I hope it works for you.
I'm on a china model in the US with the global rom installed...I would love to be able to use 5g. I would have to believe that if the hardware supports 5G and the modem software is preventing it there must be a way to get it to work.

Are you on global or EU? I bet if you switch back to Chinese, you'll have it working.

This is an older thread but wondering (1) did the baseband change to global after flashing the global rom? (2) Did it then pick up the band 66 (IF broadcast by your carrier in your area...not necessarily everywhere) Thanks
edit...folks are imo incorrectly focused on 5g (getting 5g or not) as its deployment is very spotty. Further if you check via signal check lite or Lte discovery apps, you will see that even if the phone shows 5G in status bar (lots of folks say they 'get' 5g based on that) the actual band is an LTE band usually (this is even with Apple iphones-have tested them out both on Tmobile and AT&T in my area...the 5G is mostly bunk imo and just marketing). ANyway, I digress. Does the flashing of global rom change the baseband to the global baseband and is the phone then able to pick up LTE 66 IF broadcast in your area?

Question Dumb Questions but flashing other roms changes Sim bands?

As title says ,
i have Mi11 China version and it supports CDMA on GSMARENA.com , and i want to flash other roms Global or EU still not sure ,
but flashing others roms will effect my phone on SIM side ? i really need CDMA band for my home country . and on GSMARENA.com only China Version have it .
Could anyone please elaborate .
China version has diffrend bands that eu version (for example no 5G on PlusGSM in Poland on china version).
It isnt rom dependent, it depend on phone version - not the same is china and global

Question Change versions

Hello
I am a bit lost as it is the first time I buy a Chinese phone. In the box my OP is clearly Chinese as everything is in Chinese and the version shown on the box is "NE2210"
That is clear to me and the seller told me as well so no question about.
When I see my device version it shows "NE2215" and I am not sure witch version is this one. Is it American European or other different one?
The version shown is precisely NE2215_11_C.21
I would like to have the European version if possible because I live in Spain.
I was checking about the bands as well and apparently the Chinese version has all the bands that Spanish companies use in 3,4 and 5g
Is there anything I have wrong and I can change or any perception mistake I should know.
Thank you for any answer in advance.

Question Is it able to unlock FDD-LTE B19 on CN rom?

Hello. I have bought Mi 11 because Chinese seller said it supports B19 of Japan.
But I found that it is not listen B19.
Is there any way to unlock B19?
I can fount that CN rom listen LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41 in default settings.
Best regards.
That sounds strange, according to the specifications page, the Chinese version of Mi 11, in comparison to the international version, has additional support for B18/B19/B26 (for Japan) and B34/B39 (for China), but your Mi 11 does not support these bands when using CN ROM, I suspect that your Mi 11 may be the international version.
