Question MIUI Launcher with Google Discover - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi all, Happy User of the CN Mi 11 Ultra. Everything works well so far. The only feature I currently miss is the Google Discover feed on the left screen.
I know that global launcher added this option. Is there any chance to add via side loaded APK?

The only way is to flash global ROM

Why is it so? I was able to install externally downloaded MI Launcher apks. But it seems all of them did not have Google Discover. Could somebody please post the launcher APK from the global ROM?

Thanks! This version is older then the stock of the 12.5 CN Rom. So not able to install. And just learned that uninstalling updates of the launcher will delete the data

That's unfortunate. I think flashing the global or EU ROM will solve the issue

EU 12.5.2 let's you choose....

What security do you degrade exactly? Which aspect of it?

Imagine loosing your phone with Crypto Wallet on it. Which one can be hacked easier - with bootloader lock or without.
And please don't start on how secure unlocked bootloader is. It's just not. Having ability to flash anything on top of the original ROM via fastboot just opens a lot of additional attack vectors. And TWRP will make everything even easier for the attackers. And no I am not paranoid but doing this just for Google Discover is a no go. I would then rather wait and buy a global version of the phone.

Losing a phone with a bitcoin wallet in it has still almost no risk to those BTC
You have a very poor understanding of technology if you think it does

Here you have one version of miui launcher that has a google discover instead app vault, and it works in any miui version.

Is there any version of MIUI Launcher for Global ROM that has a double tap to lock the phone?
So how is it in xiaomieu?

Upgrading Redmi 9 questions

Hello peeps,
I recently purchased a Redmi 9, it came with MiUI Global 11.0.7 Stable (QJCLMCR). I've been trying to update it through the phone butI haven't been able. Some friends that already have MiUI 12 told me thatsince I purchased it through the phone compnay they modify the ROM to add their apps and stuff anf that may be what's preventing me from updating and I'd have to update it manually if I didn't weant to wait.
I googled how to do it manually and it involded downloading the ROM but they seem to have a different version than mine (QJCLMCR) I don't know if this would work with mine or if I should check anything before installing it. I seriously don't want to mess up my phone so I'd appreciate any help with this. Does this would work with my version or do I have to look somewhere else?

In addition, if I update this manually would I be able to delete my phone company's bloatware and stuff like that or do I have to root the phone after / before updating? I'd appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks!

Bro , from which country do you come from? it seems you are from Colombia . You have an operator modified version of miui, in your case I think it's Claro. You cannot update manually, nor use one of those roms in the image since you can hard brick your phone. You have two options: Wait for your carrier to release the update (which usually never happens) or change to the Global Rom, you must unlock the bootloader and flash via MiTool.
And you can remove the Preinstalled apps with ADB ! (you must be careful!). Cheers!!!

Question CN OR EU camera Apk

Hi all,
Anyone able to upload the Apk of camera app of the latest CN version? Would it work on the global version? If anyone got it, please upload, I think it is worth a shot.
You may find the APK will say that you can't update system apps, just to warn you. Some I've tried in the past have said this. I've not tried to sideload it via adb though, that may be possible, may be someone who has can confirm?
Actually I guess you'd need more than the camera apk to get the latest camera improvements from Xiaomi.
That being said it's not a bad idea to try. Should be easy to extract from the latest ROMs. I'll give it a try when I have a bit of time (Otherwise if anybody can post it indeed, that will spare me a bit of work )
***Edit: I think that's the correct file. Extracted from the EU Rom v12.5.11 (I haven't tried it yet)

Indeed I think you will have to use ADB to install it (It refused to install when I tried). Both camera apps being signed by Xiaomi and the new one having a higher version number, it may work as far as I could read online.
Thank you for the APK file, i am side loading it right now, will check and update you.
it failed here as well,

Why not install the latest Xiaomi.eu rom. It's based on the china rom, so it has the most current features, which are not in the global version, plus all the Chinese bloat and script has been removed and Google services added. Best of both worlds.

And that would require root. Logic, it's a *****, but you go ahead and try or contact your buddies on telegram. Unless you are rooted, you can only modify the users data partition. Anything that the OEM installs, except

You go ahead and try. The only partition a user can modify (without root) is the users data partition. OEMs generally load things that they feel is pertinent to the operation of their device to the system partition, so that users can't accidentally delete required files. You would need to have write rights (permissions) to be able to delete or overwrite anything in the system partition and OEMs generally setup the system partition for users with rights to only be able to read and execute or see and run the app.

There isn't any problems, just because it works for OP it doesn't mean every global variant will get it. You can always get Xiomi.eu if you want a later release. Its practically the same with some slight modifications/ debloat. You could also just get the firmware yourself and flash it.
Yep, right! you can just manually download the official firmware and apply manually the update for your device though

There are users like us who don't want to compromise their device safety, spend time in flashing/troubleshooting and to lose some important features via unlocking the device bootloader like making some of the banking apps useless, etc. Yes, Xiaomi EU is good! You don't need to reflash. There is a Magisk module, which installs stock dialer and sms alongside Google ones. If recording doesn't work - install the APK

Do you have the bootloader unlocked?
maybe you have magisk apk or traces.
Device Rooted message is often caused by installing an app that's blacklisted by the app developer.
If you're using official MIUI and did not root your phone, you'll need to contact the app developer via google play.
There's not much phone manufacturers can do about this, it's the stupid apps using their own (faulty) safety mechanisms.
Alternatively you can try installing a custom ROM, it fixed this exact problem with my banking app in the past.

Unlocking the bootloader doesn't happen by accident.
https://c.mi.com/thread-1857937-1-1.html
https://en.miui.com/unlock/index.html
The warranty will be void if you break the phone with a non-stock rom.(Very rare with Xiaomi Eu roms especially due to root,EDL mode recovers the phone).
The unlocking does not constitute a cause of null guarantee.
