Question Android Auto Doesn't Work - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

I was wondering if anyone has tried Android Auto on their Mi 11 Ultra running the China ROM with Google Play Services installed. I tried on my car and kept getting a "no installed apps work with this USB accessory" message. I am reluctant to flash the Global or EU ROM as I heard there are other issues associated with those and the China ROM is the most polished. I don't really have any other issues aside from this so I was wondering if we could arrive at a workaround or fix.

GPS not working on MI 8 china stable 9.6

Hi,
I've bought xiaomi Mi 8 from Shanghai last week. It is china rom currently on miui 9.6. I've installed all the google services and given all the permissions properly. But phone not getting gps at all. It keeps searching for gps. But could not locate the locations in google maps. It's too much frustrating. Tried all the tips found in online but didn't work. People are asking to flash to global stable. But I wanted to stay in china rom.
So could you guys please tell me that if there will be any fix for this issue? Is there going to be any update? If there will be any update for fixing this issue then how much it will take? Should I wait or just flash to global stable? Please let me know. Thanks.
I'm on MIUI 9.5 and Google Maps work. Using a VPN of course.
current status
I've found that google maps and others gps tools apps are working great in outdoor where I'm under the direct sky. But whenever I get inside of a room or building it stops working.

Strange google maps problem

Hello all! I am running the latest official EEA rom (10.2.26.0). Every 3 or 4 hours, when I open google maps and try to navigate to somewhere it shows that I am offline. The phone is connected to the internet (i open a browser to check and it works). The problem is solved with a simple reboot. Has anyone noticed the same thing?
I googled and found that one possible solution would be to uninstall and then reinstall the updates to google maps, via the play store. Try and update if it helped.
Thank you crazybill, I came across the solution but thought it was just an answer like "Have you tried to turn it of and on again" . I will give it a try and report back in a few days. I am preparing myself for a factory restore if everything else fails!
You might want to switch from the EEA ROM to Global. Xiaomi has been having problems with bugs on supposedly stable MIUI builds but the MI 9 EEA ROM seems to be plagued with far more serious bugs than the Global.
When I was running EEA there was a bug that killed the sound from incoming calls on Volte and disabled WiFi Calling. This was on a "beta stable" build that Xiaomi pushed out to many phones (including mine) via OTA. That was last month but there have been recent reports on XDA from MI 9 owners running EEA who are currently experiencing the same issue.
Reportedly the latest EEA OTA is also bricking some phones--but that's why I always unlock the bootloader on Xiaomi phones. The same thing was happening to some owners of Mix 2, Mix 2S and MI 8 phones--a routine OTA bricked their phones. With your bootloader unlocked it's usually easy to recover but with a locked bootloader it's virtually impossible unless you are willing to open the phone and attempt an EDL Test Point reset.
You might also want to take a look at your phone's location settings. When I got my MI 9 running EEA out of the box the location settings were set to a power saving option instead of high accuracy which I didn't realize so Google Maps would lose my location periodically.
Google Maps also didn't have all the permissions it should have had and didn't ask for them which I think might have something to do with the privacy laws in the EU that the EEA ROM was created to comply with.
After reading this, instead of just doing a factory reset I switched to global stable (I had already asked for unlock permission but never got around to do it). Google maps work without any issues, thank you very much

Find Device Closed Unexpectedly

I got an OTA and updated to global miui 11 v11.0.2 and faced this problem.
When I use my Mi 9 about 1~2 days it suddenly reboot and get "Find Device Closed Unexpectedly" message
Does anyone know how to solve it?
same problem, MIUI Global 11.0.5.0 (QFAEUXM)
Same issue after Miui 11 (11.0.2.0 and 11.0.3.0). "nice" to see that its also happening on EU Roms, was already thinking about to switch back from global but looks like its not worth it.
I did a clean installation 2 days ago to see if it fixes the issue, but after 1 1/2 days it's back.
Edit.
Uninstalled now the xiamo device search via ADB. Lets see if this brings any improvement.
Edit2.
Not the best idea, device ends up in bootloop after reboot.
i used to get "find device closed unexpectedly" about once a day and it always happened at the same hour. i tried everything including ADB, hidden MIUI settings etc. to get rid of bloatware etc. - didn't work. then i changed to a USB router instead of USB tethering and there is no more issue
I did a clean hard reset and did not restore any data or Google backup on my device.
Everything was working fine for a week but then I set alarm clock and added a mi notice widget on Homescreen. As I woke up the next morning I had the error message again so I removed notice and widget and I forced stop app in app info.
Since then the error is gone again. Fingers crossed!
Does anyone find any same procedure sat its device? So maybe we can surround this problem?
Mine also comes up with an error message, something about not being able to log in to the sim card, I forget the specifics, I can always find it through Google anyway.
Same problem
I tried literally everything to wipe out the error but its still on my phone and freaking me out. Because I went on every foru google tells me, i watched any Youtube Video and tried and tried and tried. My only hope is a system update but who knows if that can fix it.
Good Luck to all of you with fixing this problem
I tried euu and global rom, both have the same problem. Not only in chinese rom. Hence i went back to miui 10. xiaomi is totally clumsy about android 10.

any solution ?
Maybe in Android 11 they will fix it...
I found a solution in another forum:
The unexpected interruptions of mobile and WiFi connections were forced because of AdGuard app.
What causes Adguard to block my internet connection?
I have noticed the same issue with all latest versions Stable or Nightly. This behavior has appeared for several months already. DNS Adguard / DNS google: same thing if AdGuard off 4G is working fine no trouble with wi-fi
forum.adguard.com
It looks like that there is no solution for that until today so I switched to AdAway VPN and the issue since then is gone.

Question Android auto problems

I get some trouble with my 11 and android auto on uconnect 7 fca. The phone normally connects to to connect with aa, but after a phone calling, the audio (spotify ecc), start to hear from the phone speaker and not from the car speakers. Tried everything but no success.

Hm.. .9? I just got an update here of MIUI Global 12.5.7 and thought that was the latest. I still have the same problem though So annoying that I went back to an really old huawei phone instead.
Me too same issue, each time a firmware update comes I test it and I pray they fixed that annoying issue without any success. This issue is been since the day one I got the phone. This is sad since my old Oneplus 6 works just fine :/
The only way i find to resolve this problem was unlock bootloader and flash another rom, in my case One OS. :/

How is that rom otherwise compared to the Global rom?
I've spoke to some people of Xiaomi forums and the admin over there is claiming AA is broken not just on Xiaomi but also other phones and that is an Android 11 problem that was not resolved yet on Android open source project, not sure if that is true as I don't have another phone on Android 11 to test.
I've already opened a ticket with Xiaomi for that, several months ago. Still no updates on it. If someone has any other android 11 phone that is not xiaomi and could test to confirm it would be great!

As I understand there was an Android 11 problem that is solved. I have talked to people using andoid 11 on Oneplus devices that works fine they claim.
I have the problem only with Waze. After a phone call, Waze is hearing from the phone speaker. The rest of the apps working ok. It's a Skoda...
I had some problem also with Samsung Note 10 before and it was the same problem with Waze app but not on every phone call. Let's say 3 from 5.

POCO X3 NFS and Android Auto

Hi,
I'm having a lot of pain with my POCO X3 and Android Auto hope to find help here...
1. I need to connect my phone twice in order to connect to AA. I need to disconnect it twice from my car multimedia port side, if I unplug it from my phone side (USB-C) it takes more than 2 times to connect to AA.
2. After a phone call any audio (Spotify, streaming radio, other phone call) is routed to my phone speaker, I need to disconnect and connect my phone (twice) to solve it.
3. GPS signal is with a delay
4. Incoming call - it takes forever to show the call information (who's calling me).
5. Selecting apps via AA, very slow response time, even in app, for example I'm trying to add a report via Waze it's almost impossible, trying to make a phone call while using Waze.
I'm getting the same results in 2 different cars, I've tried different cables... I don't use Dual apps which I know is making trouble with AA.
I've tried Apple Carplay and it's working very well and very smooth.
Hope you guys will be able to help me..
Wow, I'm not the only one with your point 2! I thought it was my setup.
I'm running stock Android 10 MIUI rooted with Magisk.
@mosheva what's your setup so we can try and debug this?

I'm on stock Android 10 MIUI 12.0.8 not roored..
what about the other issues? your Waze is running correctly? You plug your device only 1 time?
So frustrating...
Waze, maps, etc work fine. It's just the sound direction after a phone call that is the issue for me (your point 2)

Thanks, the 2 times to connect is one of my most frustrating issues...
What is your setting for the usb? File transfer? MTP? Do you use special cable?
File transfer. In the car I use a micro usb cable with a usb c adapter.

Anyone got the issue 2 solved? I've been trying so hard on getting it solved it's so frustrating
For those of us having issues with sound redirection after a phone call, are you rooted? I ask because I'm trying to narrow down the route to a possible solution. If we are rooted, it becomes easier. I'm not worried about using 3rd party ROMs because I had this issue on stock.
I'm rooted
Seems it is not issue on POCO only. I have the same sound redirection with Mi11, stock global rom, not rooted. Bootloader is not unlocked yet, so once done, I am planning to flash xiaomi.eu rom as it seems the issue is fixed there.

I was on the EU ROM and it wasn't fixed for me Hope you have better luck
I guess it's Xiaomi issue and not just POCO phone issue...
I'm using an old iPhone as a secondary phone while I'm driving just for the Apple CarPlay as all of my other old working phones are Xiaomi...

Hi, yesterday I installed the 12.5.9 eu version, confirm that the problem of the sound that is passed to the mobile after a call, continues to occur.
Today I installed version 21.6.30 as commented by the colleague and they have effectively solved the problem of the sound that jumped to the phone after a call.
Great!
