Question Did anyone receive 12.5 stable update? - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hey All,
I received an update which still seems to be in Beta but I received it yesterday and updated it. I was on 12.0.13 Chinese Rom. I tried to apply for Beta but the page is full Chinese so I am not sure whether this was because of my application or just common update for everyone.
PS: I am much much happy to use 12.5 than 12.0.13. basically phone is smoother, faster and real ultra.

I'm on 12.5.3 (eu ROM + Rooted). It does feel snappier.

I'm on the same ROM, it feels good so far, how did you get root access?

I got the update to 12.5.3 and did it (still locked bootloader - another 6 days to go). In general the chinese version is not bad. But I struggle right now to use another launcher as default. System says that it doesn't allow to switch to 3rd party launcher as default because of security reasons?!? any chance to change that before unlocking bootloader and switching to eu.rom ?

12.5 is out of beta now and is rolling out. I have it now (cn version), rooted and passing safetynet

Do you guys know what's the difference between 12.5.2 and 12.5.3? I did OTA from 12.0 to 12.5.2 but it seems there is no OTA for minor versions.

Transfer the boot.img onto your phone, then use the magisk app to patch the image. Finally, transfer it back to your desktop and use the fastboot command to flash both "a" and "b" slots. I.e. fastboot flash boot_ab (patched boot.img)

There are quite a few changes, mostly optimisation and camera

Wanted to check whether the following bugs have been squashed in the latest firmware:
1. Flickering/Artefacts during video recording (especially 8k)
2. Shutter lag while taking photos
Thanks!

Hasn't come through for me yet (currently on 12.5.2 CN stable).
12.5.4 is supposed to bring a nice amount of camera improvements (they said 13 in total), especially in low light, zoom, ultrawide angle's barrel distortion and more as shown here:

There is definitely a lot of improvement on this version. The camera is able to catch more details. In the initial ROM 12.0.6, I was thinking to sell the phone right away. 11 PRO could capture better images.

I just updated to 12.5.4 stable from 12.5.2 CN stable without any issues through the stock Updater by installing the Incremental update posted. It was 190MB in size: https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.4.0...RKACNXM-V12.5.4.0.RKACNXM-82305bc78b-11.0.zip
I've only had the update for a few minutes but the camera quality right off the bat seems way better. Zoom seems a lot more stable and much improved. The ultrawide has slightly less distortion and soft corners now from what I'm seeing. I will take some more photos when I go outside later.

Question MIUI 12.5.1 global update

I have a redmi note 10 pro (sweet) updated to miui 12.0.15.0 stable (RKFMIXM). There is a 12.5.1.0 update, but the news are not clear. Is this a stable or a stable beta? I wanted to try it, but there is a recovery version of 2.8gb and a OTA version less than a gb. What's the difference? The recovery version deletes internal storage?
On stable branch you only get the stable updates.
Recovery is a full image of the OS, installing that will wipe your device.
OTA contains basically the "changes" from one version to another, so it is smaller.
I also have the RKFMIXM version and I was with the same doubt if it was a stable version or a stable beta because according to the news and rumors it should be in June the update date, for now I have a detail that the update no longer appears to me give him look for updates and I'm still on 12.0.15
I wouldn't bother with this version, I'm using it and it's still laggy, the RAM management is still bad as usual (moving everything to ZRAM then causing massive slowdown), at least the battery backup is better, the rest is pretty much the same.
And yeah, we got new bugs, it's miui after all, I guess it's a stable beta.

If any1 update Redmi Note 10 Pro Max 12.5.1 then they will loose Super Live wallpaper option permanently as MIUI 12.5.1 has blocked it and even if you try to install APK, it wont allow you to install.

On the recovery part, with the full ROM you can install it like an incremental update, it does not wipe your device.

Yeah I saw the video but the experience is not good, if you want a smooth experience, I still recommend Arrow or Cherish.
I'm satisfied with the battery backup, it improved but the rest, it's the same, same laggy miui.
The EEA version (RKFEUXM) of 12.5 is beta too?

Some users feedback Memory extension causing lags.
And optimization are in fact a big underclock (for fix heat issues).

Memory extension is probably just a type of swap memory, and since storage flash memory is slower than RAM, when it is in use you can expect lags.

When I update, should I download the fastboot version, use miflash, then pick the option to "save user data"?
Thanks.

Just updated with your guide. No issues !
One thing to note for the benefit of others: when you reboot for the first time after update and magisk install, the booting time can last a few minutes. You will see the MI logo and 3 dots with running lights at the bottom during this process. Normal.
Also if you have AFWall+ and / or ad blockers like Adaway setup to block your phone from accessing Xiaomi servers, this method will fail because it tries to verify the .zip file by connecting to Xiaomi. So you have to turn off these protections. This to me is actually a little less than ideal, so maybe next time I will see if I can install via fastboot / recovery or something like that.
Of course if this is not a concern, then the guide is still an easy and straightforward way of updating your MIUI. Thanks again to Pho3nX
Strange, it just appeared
My battery life is now very bad with this update...4hrs sot max instead of 7hrs that i used to have. I debloated the phone and disabled everthing.
Today I received the 12.5.7.0 update.

Question Is advisable manually update to a newer MIUI?

Hi there, I've bought (online) a Redmi Note 10 Pro; I am aware of the fact that this phone suffer of the proximity sensor bug: https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/r...ly-acknowledged-upcoming-miui-update-fix-bug/
Since I don't have this phone yet, I guess if will arrive with a software fix; however, while searching, I found this discussion on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/miui/comments/pggief
As you can read, they claims that MIUI 12.5.8 will fix such bug, so I want to ask: can I directly update the phone with such MIUI?
The process seems simple, as I've read here:
Can i switch my Redmi Note 10 Pro from Stable to Stable-Beta ?
Hello so i noticed that xiaomi is rolling out miui 12.5.2 update to some users and its currently available in the xiaomi firmware update as a "Stabe-beta" variant but i am still on 12.0.10.0 so what if i download the stable-beta update through...
forum.xda-developers.com
I understand that I have to go here
https://c.mi.com/bd/miuidownload/detail?device=1900389, select the global version of Redmi Note10 Pro, then download this file https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.8.0.RKFMIXM/miui_SWEETGlobal_V12.5.8.0.RKFMIXM_61c0e33df5_11.0.zip and install it directly from the phone, right?
Any thoughts about? Will I risk something? I also read that I can set the phone to receive the latest updates, otherwise.
Thank you.
I say nothing's perfect. For such a great phone at a dirt cheap price, I wouldn't care much about this issue.
Naturally, it's hard sleeping over a button left unclicked. And you know you will. It's just a matter of time so don't waste it.
Well, the phone is arrived today and luckily I didn't faced the proximity sensor bug: is working fine.
However I no have the option for manually apply an update from a zip file; I discovered that I have EEA version (RKFEUXM) which is still to 12.5.4.0:
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V12.5.4.0.RKFEUXM/miui_SWEETEEAGlobal_V12.5.4.0.RKFEUXM_ffb48eb125_11.0.zip
Why isn't updated like the global version?
I bought redmi note 10 pro two weeks ago. It came with miui 12.5.8 stable preinstalled.
Works like a charm. No complains
I just received the 12.5.6.0.RKFEUXM.

Regional country rules and regulations and copyright and, and ..... are different.
Here what I found out for EU version.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIUI
An organisation named Xiaomi Europe (xiaomi.eu), not a part of Xiaomi, was set up in 2010 as a community for English-language MIUI Android and Xiaomi products. xiaomi.eu works officially with Xiaomi on app translations and bug fixing. xiaomi.eu issues its own versions of Xiaomi MIUI ROMs, based on the stable and weekly beta versions of the Chinese ROM

Incremental update is what you get with the automatic MIUI biult in OTA update. The download package is much smaller. It will not erase your apps nor data etc. It will also probably not fix any problems you got with rougue apps or bad settings.

ok, but the files you guys upload are 2 and not just one zip.. how can you flash this in een twrp then
That's a misunderstanding. The Fastboot Files are NOT for TWRP meant. The recovery files can be flashed through TWRP. The newest one for 22.1.5 is only one file. But still only Fastboot. You need to extract the contect of the "zip" - it will automatically extract also from z01. They are one archive split on 2 files. As I already mentioned the newest beta is now just one big file.

1.) Make sure you're on the latest stock OOS 11. You can't install otherwise.

This hasn't been necessary for a while my friend .
Tested (by many people) and working flawlessly using install method in OP
Is this still loaded with all the Chinese bloatware? After trying the earlier version of colorOS I think this will be my last oneplus device. I really didn't like it all.

Yes, but to be fair unless you have a Chinese Oneplus 8, ColorOS was never meant for your device. So you can't really install it than be mad at Oneplus lol. OxygenOS is still pretty good at not having bloat.

I understand the phones country of origin but I was under the impression that oxygen OS was to be ditched in favour of Color OS. If this is the case then i wont be staying with oneplus. I have loved previous versions of OOS which is why I have stuck with oneplus for so long.

Not exactly. The new OxygenOS is sort of leaning towards what ColorOS is. But they're still not the same thing, just getting more similar and streamlined.
If you wanna get the best idea of what's coming OxygenOS 12 is already available for the Oneplus 9. Plenty of coverage on it. Not my favorite to be fair. And I actually liked OOS11 more than OOS10 unlike most people.
But obviosuly when our Oneplus 8's in the USA get OxygenOS12, they'll see the same amount fo bloat as they do on OOS11. So none really. Don't have to worry about the Chinese stuff.
After quick test , this is not not suit me as daily driver.
I will wait for OOS 12 beta.
Bad News about the Audio
1) It sounds very bad and compressed with Poweramp and Mp3 320 (Previous OxygenOS 11 had no issues)
2) Sometimes the sound plays from both speakers and Bluetooth devices and needs restart
3) Dolby Atmos Presets doing nothing, not working.

It appears you have insufficient storage space jkjk. Most likely that's a bug or the feature is just not finished yet for OP8. This is a beta build afterall
Thank you. It will be great if you make debloated and maybe features added stock roms in the feature both oos and cos.
