Question Your experiences regarding bugfixes on Xiaomi.eu-ROM? - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi, I have been using the xiaomi.eu rom on my Mi 10 Ultra for quite a while, it works fine in most scenarios but when it comes to functionality that is important when using the phone for calls, photo AND as a tool at work..... I have got rather frustrated with important bugs that never gets fixed even if I report them.
Has I been unlucky or is this "normal" when using xiaomi? (previously I have been using Samsung and Huawei and then I have never had theese problems)
The reason for asking is that I WANT to buy a Mi 11 Ultra but if that means: Top hardware, excellent camera and a lot of issues when it comes to using the phone for work => Need to choose something else.
Examples of issues:
* If I try to share a file over "teams", the phone (falsely) suggests that I'm not loged into my work profile and ask me to log in to that profile. However it is not possible.
* In similar way, it is IMPOSSIBLE to change keyboard layout on a physical keyboard. I can go into the menu but the changes I make are ignored. I live in Sweden but I can see on the internet that people in France has the same problem. Bug reported long time ago but no fix and no response whatsoever.

Main phone or not?

Just a question to all the Kaiser users out there.
Do you use the Kaiser with only Android installed as your main phone?
Those that do, have you had any "bad" experiences while using the phone that are NOT caused by network discrepancies (i.e.: dropped calls, bad signal, etc.)?
I ask because I do use mine as my main form of communication on a daily basis, and I had my first dropped call today due to a hard lock. This is after almost a year of use, on the same phone, in different parts of the country with only a couple of days of non-use for screen replacement (scratched/damaged touchscreen).
I know we're all hanging on to old technology for different reasons, wether it be cost, availability, or that certain "wow" factor that comes from completely changing something that was never meant to be changed. I have become fond of my Kaisers for obvious reasons, but if I cannot trust it when I need it I may need to move on.
Thoughts?
I use it as the main phone . I dont have any problems except the camera and the WiFi . Hope to get it rectified soon though :/

Man, you still didn't manage to get WiFi to work ?
Dude my kernel !!
and because of exams i cant get that repaired !!
IDK if your kernel is the issue or not because the radio rom also has a lot to do with some aspects of the hardware controls (phone, wifi, audio, camera, etc.).
Other than checking your wifi.ko file with root explorer or some other text viewer, the only option is to change your rom. I have had a 99% success rate with my Kaiser using only Scoots kernel with 25mb of cache, the 8/29/11 rom from sourceforge and LauncherPro plus (from my personal stash). I have the kernel setting the clock to 500MHz on start up and I usually end up underclocking to 480 for a week or so to check stability against the previous weeks settings.
My camera works, my wifi works, bluetooth works, tethering/hot spot works, but video doesn't (not like I'll EVER use this thing for videos)...

Hi!
I use it as my main phone. After the imap push deactivation i hadn't got any hard lock.
But i use gmail sync, and sometimes i got a screen of death. But it's very very rare (maybe one in a month). I think if i didn't use anything thats related to 3G network, this lock up wouldn't appear.
This is my work phone so it must be stable. I'm satisfied with it.

Voice cut during internet calls

I have a problem with my Mate S updated to the latest stock EMUI 4.0.1.
With every app that consents an internet voip call (Skype, Hangout, Whatsapp, Viber) I can listen without any problems my interlocutor but my voice will be cut avery 4/5 seconds for 4/5 seconds each time so that the call is impossible. Only sometime everything works, it seems when the screen is off and then restart to have problems when it is turned on again.
The strange problem is that this happens also with another phone, a Honor 7, so another Huawei phone, and this does not happens at all with Galaxy or other phones.
The problem is present with different internet connections, wifi, interlocutors, so this is not related with the network infrastructure at all.
Could please someone gives me some hints on how to investigate further this problem and kindly tell me if you have faced the same problem?
Many thanks!
UPDATE:
The Huawei official support says that they cannot guarantee the compatibility with Third party Android App so in fact their OS or Hardware have serious bugs and they are not interested in discovering the reason. For them you simply need to avoid using most famous third party app, so do not use your phone like a smartphone.
Please consider buying different company than Huawei if you want to use internet calls

That's strange...I don't have that problems and I'm in the same version, maybe you have a hardware problem.

Thanks for you reply sebastassara. This is the first thing I thought when it happened the first time with my Mate S, in June, but then I bought last week a Honor 7 and I was really sorry to discover that the problem was exactly the same. For this I could not believe that it is and hw issue, or otherwise I would be completely out of luck!
I think more in a OS problem but I am trying to find at least to why it happens or how to solve it, but at least what cause this problem...

Official firmware questions, problems

Hi Everyone, first of all, i'm sorry if there may be duplicates in my post, i was trying to find answers, but may have given up early.
I'm a fresh owner of mi5, and as one, first love, than hate, and cry.
My phone had the latest China Dev, with which i had the following problems:
- SMS didn't go landscape
- fingerpint worked only, if i stored one finger only, as soon as i added multiple, it stopped working
- couldn't really separate multiple cloud accounts, my contact book just became a mess.
I tried CM13 which i loved at first but than, the GPS just didn't work very well, you could say it didn't work at all (very weak signal)
Also realized, that android pay (which i would like to try, but it's not mandatory) doesn't accept that ROM.
With all of the above, is there any ROM which you would recommend me? Should i try Global 7.5x? In other forums, people seem to love it, or go to stable global 8?
Any other recommendations?
any answer would be mostly appreciated!
thanks guys

Question Mi 11 echo problem

Recently, I'm facing problems with my Mi 11 device. People who are calling me complaining that they are getting their own voice back through their phones while calling me. I tried updating my device but it didn't help me. I'm hoping for some solution here. Thank you. Cheers.
I faced the same problem too. You can google and there are some solutions that work - disable google voice recognition etc.
Unfortunately, none of the solution work for me and I have sent my phone back to xiaomi for diagnostic. (still waiting for my phone to be back)

Same here, I tried disabling voice recognition as well, but it is still the same.
You can try using a small masking tape to cover the top microphone. - it works for me. But becareful not to block the proximity sensor.
Don't bother to try any other methods like factory reset or any settings. I have tried and it doesnt work. Anyway, this issue is not unique only to Mi 11 but all other phones as well. (other brands included)
Welcome to Xiaomi Mi 11 trouble family, I have echo problem plus wifi problem also out of guarantee and no solution for months.
May be the only solution is:
- Put in the bin and continue your life

Question Wi-Fi calling disconnections

Just got my first Xiaomi device and really enjoying it, however Wi-Fi calling (on EE in the UK) disconnects every 50 minutes without fail (call with drop). I can watch in realtime the VPN connection on port 4500 in my router diagnostics and see it strike up a new connection a few seconds after 50 minutes.
I think this may be to do with the carrier settings being incorrect. Under IwlanSettings there is a esp_timeout setting (from another device that works on EE fine) which is set to 3000 seconds = 50 minutes. I think the esp_timeout on the Xiaomi may be set to a higher value, typically the esp is refreshed around 90 seconds before the end of the timeout. I assume the operator times out at 3000 because my end hasn't refreshed it as it is thinking it has more time.
To test this theory, how can I edit these settings. On another device there is a Iwlansetting widget I can add via Nova, but this doesn't exist on the Xiaomi. Can I change these settings via adb?
What is the best way to feed this back to Xiaomi?
Thanks for any help or pointers.
Had an update to 12.5.16 this morning and the bug is still there, with Wi-Fi calling on EE dropping every 50 minutes exactly.
I've sent logs and feed back using the app on the phone, no response almost a month later. Do they even look at that feedback?
My first go with an Xiaomi device, they might be good value devices and well built, but the aftersales support seems non-existent.

From what region/country have you got the update? I haven't got it yet. Sorry for off topic.

England using the EEA ROM that came with it (RKDEUXM). They tend to stagger updates so we may not all get the update at the same time. Typically no useful release notes, so no idea what has been fixed, and I see no differences except for the System Updater now being white when it should be a black background (as dark mode is on). So no fix for a fundamental issue of calls dropping, but I found a UI bug almost immediately, so this is Xiaomi supporting their devices, doesn't bode well.
It reports it has Android security update 2021-11-01
Thanks for the answer and information

Do you have call recording on EEA rom ?

Not something I've ever needed so not entirely sure, but I don't think so as it just uses the standard Google Phone app and no options in that for call recording that I can see.

There is NO call recording on EEA. Install this instead stock dialer and you will have call recording:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hb.dialer.free
Bug also present on the latest version 12.5.20 RKDEUXM just released today. No response to feedback sent.
Support from Xiaomi is non-existent.
