How to unlock bootloader and install EU Rom ?
I don't have my Mi Max 2 by now but i suppose it works like this:
1) Unlock the bootloader officially (there should be some tutorials for this as it works the same on all mi phones)
2) Download an adb/fastboot package
3) Download and flash TWRP (http://en.miui.com/thread-644074-1-1.html)
4) Start TWRP (Turn phone off and then hold Power and VoL- (or VOL+ - not sure) i think) and flash ROM, then SuperSU. Maybe you have to format data first to get rid of the encryption
5) done
I've got my device with unlocked bootloader. So no need to unlock again. Tried to OTA update, but never successful. Then tried flash global update rom manually from twrp (have to install first). Now I have latest update global rom abd of course with root (for some system mod ).
I don't know how to back to stock recovery and locked bootloader. But I will find away to do it someday

Unable to boot images via Fastboot

Hi,
Recently I updated my EMUI firmware via the official OTA system.
I had the bootloader unlocked prior to installing the update however afterwards the bootloader was locked. I have verified this in Fastboot.
I wish to flash Magisk on my P9 Plus, however, I have a bootloader unlock code (back when Huawei gave them out freely) however I don't want to unlock the bootloader as it will factory reset (I spent a long time setting everything up).
I tried flashing a TWRP image however the bootloader prevents it as it is not unlocked.
The only other method would to boot the custom recovery image however when executing fastboot boot recovery TWRP twrp-3.1.1-1-vie.img it gives FAILED (remote: Command not allowed). I had noticed this inability to boot images even when I had the bootloader unlocked (I did not want to overwrite the stock recovery or eRecovery for easier OTA updates).
I have the Chinese variant of the P9 Plus : VIE-AL10 Full Netcom Edition.
Is anyone else having this problem? Please let me know if or how to fix this.
Thanks
It's been a while since I last used fastboot boot but if i remember correctly the command is "fastboot boot recovey.img, without that" recovery" in between
if the bootloader is locked you cant flash magisk or any other, also you cant boot with any images

Failed to install global rom via mi flashing tool, now phone stuck on fast boot.

Solved !!!
I was able to flash global miui 9.5.
Hi ,
So after finally the bootloader is unlocked I tried to flash the global rom via mi flash tool.
Update failed and an error message is update crc list failed !
I tried flashing back the chinse rom and I get the same error.
I can boot the device to recovery mode, but its mi recovery 3.0, I have 3 options:
1.wipe data
2. boot to system
3. connect via pc suite
tried with pc suite but it says my device isn't supported.
The computer recognizes the device via MiFlash tool but in adb via cmd when I type adb devices I get blank row and its unable to find the device.
how can I make my phone usable again please?
I have tried many things I found on google but nothing worked.
Thank you all

yes the phone is in fastboot mode, and I cant back to normal mode for regular use.
I tried to unlock again like you said it the program said the device is already unlocked.
Have you tried the first option, wipe data?
Don't panick, since you have fastboot mode it's not bricked. Let's start by booting into TWRP.
Download TWRP and put it in the same directory with your FASTBOOT.exe file.
Open a windows dos prompt and get to the same directory as your FASTBOOT file.
Reboot your phone into FASTBOOT mode.
in your DOS prompt type "Fastboot boot yourrecoveryfilename.img" (change the yourrecoveryfilename.img to the TWRP recovery image file you downloaded)
your phone should reboot into TWRP if there wasn't an error. TWRP won't be permanent (if you reboot out of TWRP it won't retain it), but will allow you to flash ROM.
I've only ever flashed all my ROMs through TWRP, never used anything else since i unlocked the phone.
Let me know how this goes.
fastboot .exe file, where can i get it

Hello all.
Big screw up, I think. So I've had my MI 8 for a while now, no issues, until today I decided to install official lineage on it. The bootloader was unlocked. I flashed TWRP, but every time I rebooted the phone, it would go back to stock recovery, not TWRP. So here the issue started:
- Via Mi flash tool, I reflashed global MIUI 10 back to stock. I didn't realize I had relocked the bootloader...
- I tried reflashing TWRP without realizing I had relocked the bootloader.
- Thinking that the TWRP flash was done incorrectly again, I simply wanted to go back to stock, and attempted to use the mi flash tool to reflash, once again, the global stock MIUI 10. the flash tool said it was a success. (I still didn't realize I was on a locked bootloader)
- I am now on a bootloop. I can't get past the stock recovery screen, but I can go into fastboot. The recovery screen has a warning that the ROM cannot be used on the phone.
- I tried re unlocking the bootloader with the unlock tool, but because my Mi account credentials are not input on the phone (the phone was wiped clean), I cannot re unlock it.
What can I do? How can I get out of the bootloop, and hopefully re unlock and flash global rom clean again?

I finally got around fixing this. It turns out my phone was China, with Global ROM. So I did an EDL test point method and paid someone with an authorized account to access my laptop remotely to Flash the latest China ROM. I waited the required period for bootloader unlocking, and it's back alive!
I'm running official lineage 16, and I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm Using it as a daily driver instead of my all stock pixel 2 XL. No issues.

That's great news! It sucks that you were tricked into thinking your that phone is a global version. But at least you able to get things permanently sorted.

moto x4 softbricket wih motorola smart tools

After using the motorola smart tools and trying to flash the smartfone
the device only starts up to the bootloader
the bootloader is locked
I'm not in the recovery mode he always jumps back to the boot loader.
if I connect the device to the pc then it starts without turning up in the boot loader.
is there still a solution, or do i have a new paperweight

Did you try blank flash yet?
Forget everything, and try to manually boot into TWRP.
Download TWRP for payton from the TWRP site (Img and Zip files for V3.2). Download and install Minimal ADB, Copy TWRP img file into the ADB install directory, put your phone into bootloader mode, connect to PC and run "fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-payton.img" on the ADB commandline. The phone will boot into TWRP. You'll have to mount the storage and copy the TWRP .zip file into your phone and flash that from TWRP. Now you got TWRP flashed as the recovery.
Now it's a matter of flashing a ROM. I'm not really sure about stock firmware because i haven't flashed them before, but if you want to flash a custom ROM, make sure you flash TWRP after flashing the ROM without rebooting into system or recovery.
PS: I assumed you know how to do this with this explanation. Let me know if you need more instructions.
the bootloader is locked and I cant unlock them
because oem unlock option is not activ
the last time my pattern was requested, nevertheless
I havent access to twrp. it was blocked
is there another option?

Back to Eaa Rom from Global

hi, I've installed the Global rom (over the original eea )using XiaoMi Tool 2, the program did everything by itself with my minimum intervention.
Now I am trying to bring it back to its original Eea Rom, but the program says it is necessary to unlock the bootloader.
Once the unlocking procedure has been carried out, it seems that Fastboot mode no longer works, the phone responds only to the boot commands, fastboot reboot which restarts it in Fastbootd (never seen before) for the rest if you launch adb devices or fastboot devices the phone is not seen.
Anyone have any idea how to proceed?
you need to flash the full stock miui.
Flashing the full Rom in fastboot mode with XiaoMi Flash needs that the bootloader be unlocked, but i cant unlock because fastboot mode don't work
avoid any software except spflashtool.
how do i install the miui rom in zip or fastboot format with this program?
for spflashtool you need the fastboot rom.
the recovery rom doesn't work with spflashtool.
i have the fastboot rom also, scatter loading file and authentication file are inside the fastboot folder?
