[Q] Google Play Services

Hi,
I am using stock (2.3.6) Android on i9000 (well not stock but stock based custom rom)
Recently I updated Hangouts (Google Talk) and now it does not work. It keeps saying, my phone does not support new Google Play Services.
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks.
Try to uninstall Hangouts update (menu Settings > Applications > All), then reinstall it again from Play Store.

Download the apk, install it. Avoid play store, it's going pointless crap errors. As for the second part. I heard that Broadcomm released some drivers, so there is a chance, but I might be wrong, or even if I'm not, it can take quite some time to start working with them.

[Q] location services not working

With the latest builds for CM11 emmc ( cm-11-20140405-NIGHTLY-ovation.zip ) location services including Google Maps do not work. I think there was a work-around for this problem with CM10.2. Does anyone know how to fix this problem ?
Could it be this? -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046147
waiting for location
No, I don't think that is the issue. Location services seems to be broken in CM11 kitkat. I hope there is a fix soon.
location services
location services (google maps, yelp) are broken with latest google play services 4.4.52; rolling back to earlier version, 4.1.31 corrects problem but the apk is always autoupdated on next boot. I have not seen any recent updates regarding a fix for this problem.

Do you think the Hummingbird latest file will fix it as well? For the HD I mean.

Getting Android Pay to work

Hi I have a rooted CM 12.1 ROM and I've been dying for the new Android Pay, but it keeps saying it's "incompatible with your device" in the Playstore and downloading and running the APK doesn't work neither. Has anyone had the same problem? Is it related to my ROM and that its rooted? Because I used to use Google Wallet just fine. Is there a way to fix it?

For me, running GPE, I couldn't get it to work until I uninstalled the xposed apk, dirty flashed my rom to remove the xposed service (probably could flash the xposed uninstaller zip), disabled supersu (can do that in the supersu app), and wiped the data/cache on the pay app.
After getting Pay working then I enabled supersu and installed the xposed apk and flashed the xposed zip.

You talking about Cyanogenmod 12.1? I'm not sure. I'm using the Google Play Edition that has NFC working fine. I haven't tried paying with Android Pay yet but will soon.
Oh... I see now.

Huh? You can officially install Google Play Store on CN version. Go to Settings > System > Google Play Services - turn on.
Then install Google Play Store apk.

Yes, but they've blocked/firewalled most of the GMS and rendering the Play Store useless within China. All of the cn phones have their own alternatives.

Kinda confusing... are you currently in China? If so, then yes, Play Store is blocked in that country.
If you are outside of China (anywhere in the world) and using CN ROM, there is NO issue with using GMS and Play Store after installing the necessary Google apps. It is not bloked/firewalled whatsoever without the need to convert to Global ROM.

Motorola is generous in including the GMS. Even then there are some services still prohibited/missing from the phone like voice matching and android auto, which cannot be simply solved by installing apks.

The voice matching is not working because Motorola installed their own voice assistant (LeVoice) using the hotword "hello moto".
I can simply install Android Auto apk and it works flawlessly.

Hey there
When you say andorid auto works flawlessly, did you need to root the device? I have the x30 pro cn version and i have android auto install but never worked. I get the error 22 because the android auto is not a system app. Did you do anything for it to work? Or just installed the app?

I will get back on you regarding this. I need to try it out first. At first I thought the installation part is your issue.

Np. The app gets installed but not as a system app. Wondering if there is a way to install it as a system app without rooting that will be great.
