Hi, i checked those instructions and for unlocking the bootloader, it appears not to be an option for those of us with G781W (Canada version). Am I out of luck for now? Device shipped with latest firmware.

follow a guide on the process, there's a format of the data partition involved for bootloader unlock, for magisk and for internal memory encryption removal.
if you want root without TWRP follow this guide https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html
if you want root AND TWRP visit the kernels recoveries and roms section, see afaneh92's TWRP thread for snap dragon.
read and read again until you've got a rough idea what you need to do. make sure you've got everything you'll need before you start.

Hey bro, idk if you will read this but i really need help with rooting an S20 FE Snapdragon. I was decided to buy an S20 Plus Snapdragon, SM-G986U, I was ready for purchasing it but just days ago I noticed in many forums here that S20 Snapdragon couldn't be rooted, only Exynos based in, so as the S20 Plus couldn't be I thought S20 FE would be the same, but reading all the replies here I think I have a hope now. I want root because I play Fortnite Mobile and root allows me to unlock 90 fps on any device. I really hope you can help me, of this depends if I purchase a new phone or not lol.
I thought u could please help me in root process of S20 FE or maybe S20 Plus if it's possible.

what country are you in ?
if you're in the US or Canada you won't be able to root now sadly. in other countries the FE with snapdragon or Exynos can both rooted
HOWEVER... if you want a 90fps refresh rate then NONE of the FE models support it, the hardware physically cannot do it. it's 60 or 120 nothing else.

Is there root for SM-G781U1/DS? It's an unlocked S20FE using Verizon.

Samsung mostly sells snapdragon flagship phones in the US and Canada, they're only locked because Samsung does what the US carriers want. but Samsung also only usually sells the snapdragon versions of it's phones in America, Canada and Asia. people think all snapdragons can't be rooted but that's not true.
if you buy a snapdragon Samsung from outside of the US or Canada you'll be be able to root it. if you buy an FE in the states you WON'T be able to unlock it, it's all about where you buy the phone.

hmm Just found this in regards to TWRp which means boot loader can be unlocked https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxyS10Eqcom.html
I am willing to bet that's for the Hong Kong variant which is also snapdragon and can be bootloader unlocked.
You might wanna talk to @elliwigy about it, he's the guy that made root possible for the note 9. Here's a thread he participated in about rooting the Canadian variant.

Not having root isn't so bad, although I do miss it. I have the Galaxy S10+ 975U model on the AT&T firmware. Most bloat can be disabled or uninstalled. You can also use the app CCSWE app manager to freeze apps like the dreaded forced automatic updates.

wait if you want root you have to sacrifice your battery? wtf
I forgot the details but i think you're basically installing some engineering firmware which has 20% of the battery disabled, so its not regular firmware but you do have root if you want. There's really no other option on american snapdragon phones, they're fully locked down, the chinese ones are unlocked but don't think they support all the lte bands.
If you want root get the international version, its easily rootable.

sm-g973f dual sim variant rootable?

Hi I'm looking into getting a used samsung s10 for rooting purposes and I've found an exynos sm-g973f/ds. Is this variant the same as sm-g973f?
Bumping this thread for the time-being as I am in the exact same situation.
I'll look through LineageOS roms supported model list to see if I can find the answer (if they support it.. aka there has to be a root for it).
I believe that there has to be a root for it since it's Exynos-based.. but looking for some advice just to make sure!
Cheers!

Yes but ds stands for Dual sim.
even the snapdragon is root able... and full bootloader unlock too., The guy charges but I can attest full 100% its legit, and he doesn't need access to your phone. you give him a code from your phone and in a couple hrs he brings you a .tar file with your specific device unlock key in it. flash that and follow some instructions and you have a real Bootloader unlocked S10 snapdragon. read here:

[SM-G781B/DS] Remove Unlock Bootloader Warning

Hi,
I am using Samsung S20 FE 5G (SM-G781B / DS) rooted.
I am looking for, how I can remove the warningns when starting the phone ( unlock bootloader warning screen and info about unofficial software ).
I have tried the solution from this page, but it doesn't work on this model.
Do you have any ideas on how to do this?
Remove Unlock Bootloader Warning on Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/Ultra/FE
In this tutorial, we will show you the steps to remove the unlock bootloader warning screen on Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/Ultra/FE devices.
www.droidwin.com
The how to is literally in the guide above, you are just flashing an image file to the phone to over write the one with the warning message.
the FE version is for the 4G Exynos
Hi.
I understand, but for the S20FE 5G model (SM-G781B) with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, this tutorial does not work.
Odin uploaded the file ( via AP ) is Failed.
The FE version is only for the 4G Exynos? And with android 10 or 11?
you might have to manually copy the image file then via root explorer, but you will have to research where etc.

actually it has been looked into by a couple of guys recently, the bad news is that control over bootscreens on snap FEs is from the bootloader.
there's no way to modify the bootloader and then to get it signed again, removing the warnings is almost certain to never happen for snap Samsungs.

is s20fe with snapdragon 865 4G (SM-G780G) rootable?

Is the snapdragon version rootable? Has anyone rooted their snapdragon version?
I don't have that version but the answers are yes and yes.
the method to root with just magisk is the same for all phones more or less, with TWRP you can follow the instructions for the 5G version and use the 5G TWRP.

i had read somewhere, it think it was the snapdragon 855 s10, that werent rootable. Are you %100 sure this s20fe with snapdragon is rootable? Also is it doable with magisk?
Qualcomm chips on Samsung phones sold in the US and Canada have locked bootloaders, since the 4G snapdragon isn't on-sale in North America you are going to be OK. I've spoken with 4G users who've rooted and there are threads and replies here you could've read that confirm all this.
