Question Anyone notice frame drop in the One UI Home? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Since I got my S21U 3 months ago I noticed the One UI Home Apps where you swipe right and left in either the drawer or on the pages. The transition is not smooth like it should. it is not lag, it is like random frame drop happening while moving left and right through the UI icons. I didn't notice fps drops in the settings or normal scroll in apps.
It is just that weird random fps drop during animation icons transition in the main page/drawer.
I have tried everything possible, from full reset to manually disabling services by package disabler to monitoring the CPU/GPU usage and FPS to forcing fixed 120Hz and I couldn't find a fix.
I am using the G9980 Snapdragon version 512GB/16GB

I noticed it as well. Comes And goes randomly.
Had an A72 with OneUI 3.1 with the same issue as well.

slight 'jerky' animation?

just got my razr i here in the uk. love the device so far. fantastic form factor and importantly for me, a superb battery life one things nagging me though...is anyone else seeing a slight 'jerky' animation? i see it when swiping left to the 'quick settings' screen and when pressing the apps button. once in the apps though the left <> right swiping is perfect! pressing the home button from the home screen to show 'manage pages' too is pretty jerky or laggy but not sure if that is how it should be this guy sees it initailly when starting the game just before 4.00 mins in
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SILUVIwiNF0
but once the game is running all seems ok. this guy i can see it at 1.57 when he swipes left from the homescreen to the 'quick settings'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rfud0GFXRg&feature=related
seems like it occurs when at some places within the phone but not everywhere. have i been spoilt using a nexus for the past week running a silky smooth jellybean vs this running ics? or is it a defective unit?
I would say on mine there is the slightest pause when moving to the quick settings that I hadn't noticed before! I hope it doesn't bug me now!!
Going to the manage pages screen or indeed the "helicopter view" (pinch zoom on the homescreen) is really jerky. But I dont find any noticeable lag or jerkiness anywhere else. In fact I find the whole experience smoother and slicker than even my Nexus 7. The only better Android experience I had was Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus which is super silky.
Jelly Bean is slightly faster at a number of things especially switching screen context as the CPU is ramped to a high clock speed as soon as you touch the screen. I noticed the improvement in opening things like the app drawer when I had my Galaxy Nexus and upgraded to JB.

ooops sorry about that! :laugh:well i've adjusted both 'window animation scale' and 'transition animation scale' from 1x to off and that certainly speeds the whole ics experience up so that is worth doing if you have not. hope it does not affect the phone in another adverse way though

Does that not disbale animations?
don't think so. just seems to speed things up a touch.
This does indeed deactivate some Animations but only the ones Navigating in Apps or Settings and so on.
The actual Launcher Animation is not changed at all.
I have the same lag and its not so bad but still somehow annoying.
Didn't noticed that so much in all the test videos out there.
Someone tried to do a hard reset and start from scratch? Maybe fixes it.

Lag from home screen to app draw?

Hi all,
As title suggests really, I noticed on my Note 8 that swiping to the app draw and back produces bit of a delay/glitch when flicking between the two, even on high performance mode - Does anyone else have this?
Really annoying as the rest of the device is very smooth but at the minute, my old S6 Edge Plus on android 7 feels just as quick to use, which is disappointing.
The latest update to the launcher on the S8 got rid of that lag and added the ability to pull down notifications with the a swipe down motion anywhere on the home screens. It looks like the launcher on the Note 8 is a little behind so hopefully we'll get that update soon.
I use Nova with no lag.
I use stock and it's the fastest I have ever had on a Sammy between home and app drawer. I regularly swipe up down for fun as it's great to watch. Mybe you have an app slowing you down. Also get DEVELOPER rights in settings and turn off all those 1x speed settings on graphics.

Odd you mention that as mine is completely stock and I first noticed this when I first turned it on, so I hadn't even started installing my own apps yet.
Maybe I should re-flash it and see if that'll help.

Note-9 UI lag vs S9+

Anyone that has or had S9+ noticed that there is a small lag on Note 9 when switching between apps or initially launching an app? I tried with Samsung launcher, Nova launcher and tried factory reset, reboot, clear cache/Dalvik etc. but the lag is still there.
When I launch apps on my S9+, it is instant whereas Note-9 has small 0.5s lag for some reason. Hopefully next update will make it as smooth or smoother than S9+
This is on both Qualcomm and Exynos models I have noticed.
I encountered that "lag" when I had Galaxy S8, Note9 seems to open aps instantly for me

the F and N had an august update, were you on that new patch build?
I noticed a lag when opening folders on the home screen. However, when I installed nova launcher, the problem went away. I haven't noticed any lag on apps opening. Sorry if this doesn't help. Have you tried turning animations off within settings (not under developer mode)?
Thanks guys, yes @bober10113 I updated to the latest Aug 19 update from Samfirmware.
The lag isn't huge and in normal operation one may not notice it but if you have it side by side with S9+ then the lag is very apparent. For example, if you hold S9+ and Note 9 side by side and press call icon on home screen then home button then message icon or browser icon, S9+ is seamless whereas Note takes about 0.5s longer to open the app and bring it full screen.
@GlitchMob I tried playing with the animation settings and that helps a bit but I think S9+ has been consistently buttery smooth when it comes to UI as opposed to the Note 9.

I observed lag with some third party samsung themes. After using default theme n few specific themes lag reduced significantly.
Try using default theme n see.
Rooted currently, as un-rooting did not help with the lag. My S9+ is rooted also. Stock Odexed ROM as well with default Samsung theme.
Just wanted to add that I have figured out the reason for this lag. If you modify services.jar file for any reason, it will introduce the lag. I modified it to enable the dual SIM+Micro SD functionality that stupid Samsung disabled in stock build.

Have you figured out a fix for this? I also enabled the dual SIM+Micro SD mod and after that, I noticed some UI lag. I'm thinking about factory resetting if all else fails.

No one has figured out the reason for the lag yet unfortunately and it doesn't seem like any of the devs are actively finding the cause of this issue. Factory reset won't help, the only current lagfix is to not use dual sim and microSD and use original services.jar file

Samsung galaxy s20fe notification panel stutter

Hey there!
After updating to Android 12, whenever I try to swipe the quick panel when there are quite a few notifications, the panel always stutters, there is considerable amout of drop in the refresh rate.
When I use 60Hz instead of 120hz, the problem does not show.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
This stutter has destroyed the one ui experience.
wait for the next update, many have mentioned this on other sites.
Let's hope they fix the issue
I had this issue when I disabled animations, as I do on any phone by default

How To Guide Redmi Note 10 Pro - System animation frame drop in 120hz [MIUI 13.0.5] - Potential fix

I was experience a lot of droped frames, lagy animations when opening control center, or when using android auto or normal day to day usage. I was really frustrated with my experience.
But one day I was trying to fiddle some settings to find the main problem. And I figured out that resolution scaling can be an issue. So I changed the Text size to L. And voila, It improved so dramaticaly. The animations are smooth, overall experience has been great. Yeah the large text feels kinda weird for a couple of days but if you consider the result. Its worth the compromise.
I really advice you to try this. Just change the Text size to L and restart you device once.
Hope it helps.
Cheerio.
