macOS Big Sur 11.3 Release Megathread! - macOS

While we wait for macOS Monterey to be rolled out officially to all Mac users throughout the world, Apple has released macOS Big Sur 11.3 with some notable changes and features so here's everything you need to know about the update! This is a sort of a major update since it adds support for Apple's new AirTag which is helpful both if you have an AirTag or just so that your Mac can act as a relay to trace a lost AirTag. Let's go over the new features.
1. Support for AirTag

macOS Big Sur 11.3 introduces support for the AirTag which means you can track your wallets, keys, and other belongings directly from your Mac. It also gets the new Find My that can help you track your lost belongings or even ping another AirTag in your vicinity so that the owner can be notified of the exact location in which their item with AirTag was last found.
2. Better support for iPhone and iPad apps
Apple introduced support for iOS and iPad OS apps on the Mac with macOS Big Sur. Of course, you need to have a Mac with Apple Silicon to be able to do this so any of the new M1 Macs can run iPhone and iPad apps. With macOS Big Sur 11.3, Apple has improved the support for these apps by introducing resizeable windows, the ability to display apps in the highest resolution they're natively supported in, and finally, keyboard and mouse controls for apps and games which can be really handy since the Mac doesn't have a touch-screen display.
3. New Emojis and Improved Siri
The emoji selector now has the option to choose from multiple skin tones for different couple emojis including the one with a kissing emoji and the heart emoji. There have been new face emojis added as well.
As with Siri, there are more diverse options now.
4. Apple Music and Podcasts
If you have auto-play enabled, Apple Music will continue to play songs similar to your previously played song once you've reached the end of your playlist. City Charts will now show you popular tracks from over 100 cities around the world.
The Podcasts app has also received some new changes including a redesign helping users to find their favorite podcasts easily. You can now save and download episodes which automatically get added to your Library and can be then accessed easily. More podcasts are now easier to discover using the Top Charts and Popular Categories menus.
5. News and Reminders
Apple's News+ service now has a redesigned feed that helps subscribers find newspapers and magazines quickly and easily. Search has become more relevant to find the topics and channels you most prefer.
As with reminders, the ability to sort them and support for syncing the order of reminders across your Apple devices has been introduced. You can now print your reminders and lists as well.
6. Safari, Gaming, and other System Features
Safari has undergone a number of changes including customization for the Start Page section, extensions that can replace the new tab page, speech recognition on websites for dictation and voice navigation, and WebM and Vorbis video and audio support.
If you're among the 3 people who play games on their Mac, you can now pair your Xbox Series S and X controller or the new Sony PS5 DualSense Controller which is sweet.
Macs with the M1 chip now have support for hibernation. Just like the iPhone, the About page on your Mac will now display the warranty status of your Mac along with Apple Care+ coverage. You can even purchase and enroll your Mac into Apple Care+ from this section.
Problems and Issues fixed in macOS 11.3
Some Reminders created via Siri would go off during early morning hours which has been fixed.
Some users were unable to turn off the iCloud keychain feature which can now be done.
AirPods, which can be used with multiple Apple devices were unable to properly switch between connected devices and this issue has now been reportedly fixed.
While the AirPods are automatically switching between devices, the notifications may be missed at times or they may be duplicated in earlier versions but this has been fixed too.
Fixed the problem with external 4K monitors not displaying full resolution when connected via USB-C.
The Login screen was not being displayed properly on previous versions after restarting on some M1 Macs.
Apart from these new changes and fixes, there are some security updates too on macOS Big Sur 11.3 which make your Mac more secure and protect it from malicious files.
Have you updated to the latest version of macOS? If you use a pair of AirPods or you got yourself Apple's new AirTag, this update is for you as it makes things a lot more seamless, especially with the improved switching on AirPods.

no flash support at the moment. Skyfire does have flash support.
Does anyone know what rendering engine it's based on?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this app is awesome. so fast. it has many settings that let you get the zoom experience but the font cant be increased. that is the only drawback. other than that its as fast as opera mini, easier to use(no jbed environment, less memory hungry), and FREE!
Now if I could get that font to be a lil bigger...
A must have for all Pro users
Tabbed browsing as well.
Ucweb better than IE & Opera
This is the best browser!! I was using IE & Opera, but both were running very slow. Ucweb is much faster & downloads much quicker. Thank you, kind sirs (siresses), for this software.
I can't seem to get images to show up on this browser very well. Through a series of enabling and disabling show images + reloads, I can sometimes get some of the images on a page to show up, but it is very unreliable..
Acid3 score is 1/100 too.
as a chinese user, I've been using the chinese version of ucweb for years ever since I've got a phone with java support (the browser was firstly in java but now there are wm version android version etc, all of them work great).
This browser can not render webpages that similar to our desktop computers like the new opera did, and It might be a little bit slower when connecting (if the server for the english version is still in China...not sure..maybe it's not) than the others, but it is definitely a must have browser. It's lightweight comparing to opera and it works perfectly.
basing on my personal experience (using the chinese version), it saves a lot of data comparing to opera and of course IE (really useful if you have a very limited data plan) . I would assume the english version does that too.
Well anyway,
<in robotic voice> I MUST SUPPORT THIS THREAD xDDDD

windroid china phones

I came across this.
WinDroid - Windows 6.5 Pro + Android Smartphone with GPS
The results are in. The new WinDroid Smartphone is hands-down the most versatile smartphone on the planet. Here’s why:
The Best of Both Worlds
For the first time ever you can take advantage of today’s two best operating systems in one powerful and compact cellphone. For business people on the go the Windroid features the latest Windows 6.5 professional OS. This allows you to easily sync this phone with Outlook Express email as well as edit your Excel, PowerPoint and Word files all while away from your desk. When work is over simply select the popular Android OS and let the fun begin!
With the Android OS (developed by Google) you have the ability to customize and enhance this phone exactly how you like it. Simply download and install the Android Marketplace application, then select from thousands of new games, ringtones, wallpapers, applications and more- all from the convenience of your mobile phone. The Android OS also provides you with full integration of your Gmail accounts, Google calendar, Google maps and much more. Sounds fantastic right? Well, this is only the beginning...
First-class Design
The WinDroid provides a truly enjoyable experience that is sure to satisfy the senses. This is accomplished by using a colorful and vibrant 3.2 inch touchscreen that responds instantly to the slightest touch of your fingertip or stylus. The touchscreen sits flush into the phones all-flat surface and makes “sliding and sweeping” your finger to browse through web pages, photos, and eBooks both easy and convenient.
The in-hand feel is very comfortable too. That’s because this smartphone is only 14mm thick and is ergonomically designed so that only a single hand is needed to access the entire feature set. Another highlight is the touch-sensitive flush mount buttons located on the bottom of the phone which provide you with quick access to the call, end call and menu functions. The buttons vibrate when pressed and provide a unique look and feel to this already attractive cellphone.
Powerful Hardware
Tech junkies will be pleased to know that the WinDroid is no slouch; let’s take a look inside. At the heart of this device is the time-tested Marvell PXA310 CPU running at a swift 624 MHz. This is more than enough power to enjoy CPU demanding tasks such as watching your favorite high resolution movies, rendering complex webpages like YouTube or playing the latest video games. The WinDroid also features a powerful 802.11 b/g wireless card for lightning fast internet speeds as well as the Inner Sirf III GPS chip for use with your favorite GPS software. Powerful enough? We think so.
And There’s More!
Due to space limitations we cannot talk about every single feature this smartphone has to offer. But additional highlights include: full Bluetooth support, a true 2 megapixel camera/camcorder that captures beautiful images, GPS compatibility with popular software like TomTom and iGo, full Google Maps support, Skype support, MSN support and a powerful multimedia decoder for enjoying videos, photos, music and eBooks. The WinDroid smartphone offers all of these and many more high quality features that are sure to keep you entertained, increase efficiency, and keep you at the forefront of technology.
The Final Verdict
Let’s face it. Both Windows and Android have their distinct advantages. And until now you where stuck having to decide between one or the other. Thankfully, those days are finally over. Take this opportunity now to own an Android and Windows 6.5 Pro smartphone at the same price it would cost you for a good Android phone. To be frank, this is quite possibly the best value smartphone we have ever seen here at Chinavasion, or anywhere else for that matter. If you plan on getting one soon we advise you to order quickly while supplies last. And remember, all products from Chinavasion include our hassle-free full 12 month warranty.

New feature release 1.1 is available in the Play Store:
Added advanced filtering; choose which servers and libraries to be notified about
Added setting for number of days to display in lists
Improved notification for single items
Added display of library name to items
Check back for future feature development!
Release 1.2.0 is available in the Play Store and adds a new media details screen. Stay tuned for further feature additions to this screen.
nuVue 1.2.1 has been released with improved media info on Android Wear notifications and the ability to filter notifications by TV show. Subscribe to shared libraries? Now only get notified about the media you're interested in.
nuVue 1.3.0, a.k.a. the "why can't we just get along?" release, has been pushed to the Play Store. We are very pleased to announce that nuVue now supports Media Browser servers in addition to Plex. Could it be the first step toward word peace? Probably not. But at least both Plex and Media Browser users now have something in common to talk about.
You will probably have to change those screenshots to comply with Play policy mate - theyre showing IP content and the big g is pretty serious about that now. Ive had a couple of apps flagged this week for having images of book and album covers. If you look at the big players, you will see that none (other than IP distributors who have rights) show IP content in their screens. While your app may not be big enough yet for them to actively pursue you, you should probably start early - theyre notoriously vague in their flagging policy

Thanks for the heads-up. I guess I'll have to figure out how to be creative in my screen shots.
As if nuVue didn't add enough convenience to your media experience, version 1.3.1 now adds the ability to start playback on connected clients* with just a few simple taps. Also in this release:
- Added option to flag unwatched items or hide watched items
- Added support for Media Browser mixed TV and movie libraries
- Bug fixes and enhancements
(*does not include Chromecast devices)
nuVue 1.4.0 (a.k.a., the "what's new is what's old, what's next is what's new" release) is rolling out now. Not only will you never miss anything new that is added to your libraries, now you will also be able to see what TV series and movies are currently in progress and start or resume playback. Plus, we will be coming soon to the Android App Store.
Do you sometimes add entire seasons of a show at once? Now nuVue will collapse episodes from the same season into a single expandable entry. Update rolling out.
Will this support connecting to other upnp servers besides Plex??
Hi I need your help .
Do i need to buy the $4.99/mth subscription to use plex on my android? Cause i jave already bought the app. Please reply.

Tronsmart T2000 EZCast ProTronsmart T2000 EZCast Pro HDMI-Adapter

Tronsmart T2000 EZCast ProTronsmart T2000 EZCast Pro HDMI-Adapter
Hello everybody
I'd like to write a short review about my HDMI-Stick I got for about $40 from geekbuying.com.
If the thread is on the wrong forum, please don't hesitate to move it at the correct place
Most of you may know Tronsmart from their Android-TV-Sticks or TV-Boxes.
Now they have a go at producing a Chromecast alternative - and this succeeds remarkably well!
Everybody who wants to stream media files to the tv on a simple way should have a look at this $40-device.
Included in scope of delivery:
Tronsmart T2000 EZCast Pro HDMI-Adapter
HDMI extension cord (m/f 22cm)
Micro-USB-cable (100cm)
Quick reference guide (English)
Supported Operating Systems:
Android 4.0 and higher
iOS 7.0and higher
WindowsXP and higher
OSX 10.9 and higher
(These informations are from the manual / the website. But I can also imagine that older version with additional software should work, too.)
Let's start at the very beginning
After the stick was plugged into the TV, the wizard was automatically starting and helps you during commissioning. Due to the MHL 2.0 port the stick is powered directly from the HDMI-port - if the TV includes this feature.
If the TV does not support MHL, the stick can be also powered from a custom USB port or a standard USB power adapter.
The wizard displays a QR code to the necessary app for Android or iPhone (EZCast Pro). After the installation of the app it automatically connects to the Tronsmart. Then it searches for the nearby Wi-Fi-Networks where you have to select yours and enter the password. As soon as the stick is connected to the Internet, it updates it's firmware over the air. What particularly surprised me was that the stick has automatically switched to the German language - As you have probably noticed in meantime that English is not my mother tongue at all - so please forgive me for my terrible English
The Android app is (roughly) translated into German and can be operated intuitively and logically (of course there is also the possibility to switch to English). So there are menu items for direct streaming of photos, videos, documents, and music. But ther is also a function to transmit the camera image directly to the TV-screen.
What is particularly noticeable positive is that you are not bound to the EZCast Pro app. Since the device is directly connected to your Wi-Fi and supports protocols like Miracast, DLNA and Apple Airplay, the content can also be streamed from alternative apps like Allcast, Yatse or BubbleUPnP.
Various tests on portals such as YouTube or IMDB were consistently enjoyable. Thus, videos and trailers could easily stream with Full HD resolution on the TV.
But there are also a few special functions built-in which I have never seen on other devices before. For example there is a feature which divides the TV-screen into 2 or 4 sections. Then you have the possibility to stream from up to 4 devices simultaneously. This doesn't work (yet) with videos, but can be used for images or documents. Even the camera broadcast works in this function and can be used as a kind of video conference.
Of course, I've tried the "Screen-Mirroring" function with an iPad via Airplay. This works flawless and stable.
Features:
Audio / Video-streaming in Full-HD
Pictures, Webpages, Documents and (live-)camera streaming to the TV
Stream the whole display to the TV
MHL 2.0
4-in-1 Split-Screen
Miracast
DLNA
Apple Airplay
Firmware-Upgrades Over-the-Air

The stick will probably have mainly compete with the Chromecast. Although the app is not completely embedded into the system, but features such as MHL, supporting various communication protocols or the 4-in-1 split mode are exciting and fresh approaches.
As soon as the split-mode will also support video-files, there are interesting things which could be realized.
Short comparison with the Google Chromecast:
[+] "Open" protocols (DLNA, Miracast and airplay)
[+] Stream with the program of your choice
[+] More and more devices support MHL. So no additional power source is needed
[+] 4-in-1 split screen
[+] You can watch the output of the stick directly on other Smartphones with the EZCast-App
[+] Direct link or router mode possible
[-] Mirroring of my Android screen did not work with the app
[-] Not as seamlessly integrated into the system as Chromecast is
Where to get?
I ordered the stick at geekbuying.com. Currently there is a special offer where you can get the stick for about $39.99.

Miror
With what android device did you try to make the mirror?
I can confirm it works very nice and minimal to no lag for pure screen mirroring purposes. I still dont think it replaces the chromecast. I won 2 chromecast and 2 tronsmart. The apps i was using the ezcast app for now support chromecast...figures.
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Free mobile app
I own its predecessor, the T1000, and that thing was a total PoS when it came to Miracast streaming. It would stutter and artifact all the time, probably because the processor was underpowered. Is that the case with this device?
unfortunately it is not $39.99 in geekbuying it is $69 there !!! And around $60 in AliExpress sellers
---------- Post added at 02:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 PM ----------
it is $52 in DealExtreme SKU: 355600 (Added on 10/23/2014)
after digging found the promotion link of GeekBuying telling it is $39.99 and read that it is valid for first 1500 orders. I did a chat with a sales person through geekbuying.com website's chat facility and he confirmed this as well. No luck for $39.99 now (2014, Dec 20th)
I have the t1000 and so far aside from the split screen it looks identical. Which is not a bad thing as I've found it very functional

What video/audio codecs does it support? I have chromecast but videos I want to watch need conversion through handbrake. I'm looking to eliminate that step with files that are H.264/AC3 and other combinations.
